Sometimes things that seem the most certain, that seem written in stone can still break and when it does those who held tight to those ideals break themselves. All of his life two beliefs had guided Harb on his path from serious cub to a once proud Pesar. That he would be a good pad some day and that the love of his childhood best friend and sweetheart would be his. With a promise secured from her father that upon his return with a capture banu, Harb had left the pride and his sunshine behind.

Nothing could have prepared him for the life he found in the rougelands. Everything was so different than he had been taught that at times the young man didn't know what to believe anymore, yet he had still clung to his dreams and his sunshine. When word finally reached him in his travels, that his home was no more, Harb didn't hesitate to abandon his quest. Nothing mattered but getting back to her...yet it seemed he was too late his family was gone. His mother and father, his sisters, his sunshine...all gone and he didn't know where.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A startled cry spilled from Harb's throat as he jerked awake from his dreams before groaning as he slumped back over. He -hated- dreaming about the past, dreaming about his happy life before, dreaming about her. Squinting his eyes at the sun, he muttered darkly under his breath before shoving himself to his paws. It was time to get a move on, if he was careful he could get several more miles in as well as find something to eat for the night before having to find shelter. He didn't think he was near anyone's territory but he had been wrong before.

Abathar had been the first to notice the lion that had recently gotten to his feet, but kept his mouth closed. In his mind, there was no reason to bring the two lioness’ attention to the random lion ahead. This land belonged to no being, thus there was no reason to worry or become frustrated with the situation. Rolling his eyes to the side of him, he checked on the females.

Aki was giving Shahla sideway glances, a look of longing and loneliness written clearly on her face. It had been obvious since he had met the two that the autumn colored lioness was interested in the darker female. Frowning at the two of them, he cleared his throat drawing attention to himself.

“Aki, ahead.”

An orange head perked up as she looked forward, her attention snapping away from the depressed state of her friend. Shahla seemed to dip into these lows on occasion and it killed Aki to see her react the way she was. Yet, she couldn’t fix her broken heart, Aki was ill equipped to do so. Sorrow and loss gripped each individual in a different manner.

“Are we talking about the gent ahead?” Aki’s brow raised as she gave the lion ahead the onceover before returning her attention to the grand mass that was known as Abathar. Had the rolls been reversed and Abathar had been out ahead Aki would have probably found an alternate route, but that mass of muscles had made its way into the travelling pairs group. It was something Aki was silently thankful for. It gave her more time to enjoy with Shahla.

Dark blue eyes blinked at the horizon. Her heart was starting to rapidly beat inside her chest. Something about that lion seemed familiar. Whether that was a good or bad thing, Shahla wasn’t sure. Yet, for once in a very long time she was the first of the group to pick up pace.

“L-let’s introduce ourselves.” Continuing her motion forward, Abathar leapt in front of the petite lioness to stop her path.

“Shahla, what are you doing?”

Aki stood silent, shocked by Shahla’s uncharacteristic actions. “Do you… know him, Sha?”

Shahla shook her head and attempted to move around the big male. “I don’t know. It… it is just a weird feeling. Please? Can’t we please check it out?”

Staring down at the little lioness, Abathar shook his head. He took it upon himself to protect the girls and at the moment he was unsure what was going on. “Just wait here. I will greet him.”

“NO!” Shaha’s words were louder than she anticipated, causing a couple birds to flutter away, had the distant male been paying attention he’d notice the group surely.

Harb's jerked up wary at the loud cry, emerald eyes widening as he spotted the three lions in the distance. No....it wasn't possible..it... Before he could stop himself he headed for them, his heart beating so loud he thought it would burst out of his chest, voice wrecked as he cried back "SUNSHINE?!"

He ignored the fact she wasn't alone, his whole world narrowing down to the beautiful dark lioness as he took off in a dead run towards her. He couldn't lose her again. "Oh, gods Sunshine!"
