Ah. It seems Houou's makeshift garden around the Shishin base has some unfortunate side effects. They've emitted a variety of chemicals in the air that induce dream-filled sleep. It appears that Shishin are having shared dreams more and more often because of it; sometimes, they battle in these dreams. These are their stories.

Note: These characters are not 'arriving' from Gimangakure; therefore, this thread and everything that happens within have no bearing on the characters involved. This is simply for practice in using the guild's combat system for both parties benefit as well as an opportunity to test out possible technique combinations, strategies, etc. Do NOT post if you are not given permission to do so.

Personality: At first glance, she seems to be the strong, silent type. She focuses on her training, on her duties to her family/friends/village, and on maintaining a work-life balance. She believes in keeping order, that there's a natural law in the world that must be followed for everything to be in 'balance'. Order, Nature, and Balance are giant concepts that she fully believes in, and she is surprisingly idealistic for someone so grounded all the time. She is in-the-air about spirituality in the sense of Higher Beings, though she also believes in a mind-body-soul balance. She has a logical approach to most problems, tending to categorize and compartmentalize people and issues to be more efficient, which makes her seem cold or assuming to some. She is also very big-picture over detail-oriented, so more often than not she comes off as apathetic.

Artemis has no memory of her life past 16. Her first memory is waking up in a hospital with a variety of scars across her arms, seemingly from knives or swords. She was found just outside of Takumi, still dragging herself away from the scene of the battle. Because of that stubbornness, she was taken in by an elderly medic and treated. She took it upon herself to study the ninja arts in order to protect the medic who took her in. It was quickly seen that she lacked a lot of coordination and had no natural skill, and must not have put up much of a fight in the wild. She trained harder in order to make up for her natural weaknesses, eventually discovering her possession of all five natures. Once she was strong enough to actually learn real techniques, however, the elder that took her in suffered a heart attack. Now, Artemis has to carry around the weight of that sorrow and her own setback as an amnesiac, all in a pursuit to find her place in the world.

      Artemis looked around her surroundings. A grassy series of hills surrounded her, freckled with trees of various varieties. There were some bushes here or there as well, and a lake at the valley between all the hills. This area was so lush, despite their current base being buried in snow at the moment. She knew this must be a dream; probably due to Houou's odd collection of plants, since there was so much fauna here. She never had dreams 'solo' anymore; often, the influence of the Senju's plants made them all 'share' dreams.

      "HELLO?" She shouted, cupping her hands around her mouth. She grinned with a childish wickedness at the echo that returned to her.

"Well met." Taketori stated as he opened his eyes with the loud hello from Artemis bouncing around the area. "This is a grand opportunity, let us put it to good use." He was a good distance away from Artemis as he nodded at her, signaling the sparring to begin. As a strong physical practitioner, he knew most of his chances lay in a quick assault. He reached into his satchel for some sort of way to signal the beginning. Pulling out the radio communicator Shishin used, Taketori threw it hard into the sky. When it landed, it would signal the acceptable start of the fight.

What was surprising was that he had not yet destroyed this radio in the waking world.

As the communicator eventually crashed back down into the ground, Taketori burst into action. Quite literally as a burst of flame replaced where he was previously standing on the hill as he performed a Katon: Shunshin no Jutsu [ Fire Release: Instant Movement Technique ] --- Rank: D to appear directly in front of Artemis.

Taketori's left hand immediately reached out to attempt to grab her, and at the very least make contact to inject an E-Rank Hyouji [ Marking ] onto her while his right hand charged with Chakra to unleash a B-Rank Kenka no Mouda [ Heavy Blows of the Brawl ]. This combination was an attempt to force Artemis into an uncomfortable situation where she would have difficulty escaping and if the [ Heavy Blows of the Brawl ] punch landed, she would find using ninjutsu and genjutsu more time consuming from Taketori's attempt to knock the Chakra out of her. Taketori felt pride in coming up with this opening gambit, he was eager to see how Artemis would respond.

Atsuko started on his position, sharingan active as always as Asumo stared down their opponents. In preparation for what was to come Atsuko was mindful of his surroundings but didn't make any sudden movements. He had enough practice fighting with Asumo that they didn't need to prepare a strategy, they'd simple go with the flow of battle.

      Artemis watched from a distance as Taketori attacked Atsuko head on. Good. "Don't forget about me, boys!" She made a hand sign and activated her raiton chakra, the flashes of lightning making her body flicker like some coded signal. Figuring they'd aim for a 2v2, she formed a few seals and launched a doton natured dragon, though she allowed it to float well above all of them as she waited for Atsuko's rebuttal towards the Kaguya.

Atsuko awaited his opponents with timed breath. The giant was the first to come at him with an initial attempt to mark, would would ultimately be avoided as it struck an after image of Atsuko [ Sidestep E Rank - B Speeds ]. Following this in tandem Asumo would use Suiyaku Kaze [ Propelling Winds ] which sent the pair flying off backwards away from the giant with a skid as Atsuko put his hand into the dirt.

Then the follow up. From above Taketori a large tornado of air would slam down around him, aiming to trap him within the raging walls of wind [ Tatsumaki Wana [ Tornado Trap ] C Rank ], which would be followed moments later by a roar of fire that would shoot up from the ground beneath him if he stayed in position for any length of time [ Hibashira no Jutsu [ Pillar of Fire Technique ] B Rank ]. The air tornado would be easily consumed by the pillar of fire, but even worse is that it would actually add to the pure inferno turning it into a raging tornado fire storm that scorched the surroundings.

Asumo formed a rough sign of hand seals which would transform into another sharp burst of wind, this time one that roared around both him and Atsuko [ Kaze no Yoroi [ Armor of Wind ] C Rank ]. Behind the whirl of dust and debris Atsuko breathed out a mist into the cyclone, allowing it to get sucked in. This would be good. [ Kasumi Enbu no Jutsu [ Mist Waltz Technique ] D Rank ]

Why did they always run? Well, he would have to work on that one as Atsuko and Asumo worked in tandem to avoid his Mark and first attack, instead opting to escape and beginning a series of jutsus that created a wall of wind around him and then who knew what else. While Taketori could literally punch his way out, trying to keep up with the barrage of techniques Atsuko and Asumo could launch at him would tire himself out first. Noting the direction and distance they had jetted off, Taketori slammed both hands on the ground and spiked his chakra into it.

"Sawarabi no Mai [ Dance of the Seedling Fern ]." Not having attained the second stage of his Cursed Seal, the technique was not as impressive as it could be. Nevertheless, hundreds of blades of bones began rapidly erupting out of the ground approaching Atsuko, threatening to impale him on numerous blades. Expending some extra Chakra himself, Taketori entered into the bones, merging with them to move away from his previously cumbersome position.

As he moved through the bones towards where Atsuko would be, Taketori began to pull out his own spine, stretching it out for use as a whip and a lasso. Atsuko had formed a wall of wind around himself. He was going to whip that wall away. Popping out of a bone blade about fifteen feet away from Atsuko, Taketori swung his spine hard, expending chakra and Stamina to perform the [ Dance of the Clematis: Vine ]. Upon making contact with the Kaze no Yoroi, the ninjutsu technique would be negated from the sheer force of the blow. While it rebounded the spine whip, it would leave Atsuko and Asumo vulnerable to ranged follow up by Artemis.

[OOC]: Bone forest numbering in hundreds in Atsuko's direction to impale him, merged with it to escape the Tornado Trap and Fire Pillar, Vine Whip to nullify the Kaze no Yoroi.

        • Sawarabi no Mai is the fifth of five dance forms. After activating the level two cursed seal form, Kimimaro quickly grows a multitude of tall spikes from his body to create a large forest of bone. While in this form he himself can merge into the bone trees to attack his target from whichever spike he wants. Also: The last of Kimimaro's five dances. Countless bones rise from underground, which can be as many as thousands, up to the tens of thousands. The blades of bone indiscriminately slaughter whoever stands on the ground's surface. Furthermore, if this fails to bring down his foe, Kimimaro can become one with the bones, which in turn can allow him to attack an enemy unnoticed. Out of all the techniques shown through the Shikotsumyaku abilities, this dance is the only one that is ninjutsu, rather than a taijutsu.

        • Tessenka no Mai is a form of Taijutsu developed by Kimimaro to take advantage of his cursed seal and bloodline ability. It is the fourth of five dance forms. He performs it after activating his level two cursed seal form, though a C-rank version is possible without doing so. The following two taijutsu are possible during this:

        • Tessenka no Mai • Tsuru [ Dance of the Clematis • Vine ]
        The first half of Kimimaro's fourth dance. With the Shikotsumyaku, Kimimaro can modify and pull out his own spinal column, and regrow a new spine to replace it. Between the bones in the gaps there is cartilage that allows flexibility, which makes it possible to bend it as if it were a whip. With average estimation skills along with the impossible range it stretches, dodging is difficult. The protrusions on the vertebrae are modified to make them stronger and sharper. He would follow up with Dance of the Clematis: Flower to pierce the immobilized opponent.

      Taketori fought well to escape Atsuko's methodical attacks. Stupid Uchiha tacticians, she thought with fake bitterness. She wanted to blast him away with a variety of jutsu, but this was a team effort and she didn't want to destroy Taketori's hard work either.

      She slammed her palms into the ground on her own hill and shot a bolt of lightning into the earth to travel straight to Atsuko's hill. Jibashiri [ Earth Flash ] He'd need to shake his contact with the earth to avoid it; once he was airborne, she'd order her earth dragon to assault Atsuko with a whip of its tail. [ A-Rank Tail-based formless ]

      She formed a few hand seals to activate a new technique. From a distance, her chakra would travel and form a mud prison for Atsuko, just in case he never went airborne or dodged the dragon and fell back to the earth. Kekkai Doroudomu [ Clay Barrier Prison]

      Guild Description: After forming the needed hand seals, the user will unleash an electric current that will follow a trail of water until it hits something. If there is no water, the electric current will only move in a single direction. The current has a strong enough shock that it can cause temporary paralysis [lasting one post] and minor burns.

      Description: A technique which completely surrounds an opponent in a prison made of clay or earth. The user then is able to absorb the enemy’s chakra through the walls, at a rate of 30 chakra per post. Since the walls of the prison are infused with a user's chakra, any damage taken by the prison is capable of being repaired/regenerated by that chakra.

Atsuko seemed to be at first caught off guard by the sudden spikes, Asumo pulling his master into the air by using Solo Flight. Being both airborne they were unprepared for the giant to emerge from one of the bone spires nearby, whip smashing into his wind barrier and suddenly exposing him. However when the dragons strike hit its point, seemingly hitting Atsuko directly. All of this would be revealed as a trap however. The clone that was hit exploded into a flurry of feathers, the crow clone substituted" in Atsuko's place having been the one struck. The explosive oil that had been in his wind tornado still hung in the air for moments after this, which would be hit by "Blaze Eruption" that Atsuko fired off from a distance that had been provided by "Propelling Winds". The result was a massive 30 yard inferno, that started out with a powerful concussive blast and destroyed any of the bone spikes in the area of those yards.

Meanwhile Artemis herself would have to deal with a few things. From his perch Asumo launch four spiraling tornados of wind at her from a different side each way, ripping across the ground and sucking up broken bits of the bone into them and tossing them about making deadly debris as well. Atsuko's fire pillar meanwhile would also be sent in her direction, the flames being fueled by the wind.
