A Game of Cat and Mouse
There are enemies in our midst and while we don't know exactly where they are yet, some of the visitors in the Bahari are adamant that they are there. The murder of one of our own has spurred the bravest of the Bahari, and by extension some of their friends, to at least make an attempt to uncover who or what this 'scourge' is.
It's over the course of this search that hints as to what the scourge are will be discovered, and perhaps they might even glimpse those very beings these visitors are adamant exist.

This event takes place just before Nightfall and the real assault on the Bahari'mtoto; you can assume that while RPing this event will take place during the day (with the murder discovered in the early morning), and end close to sunset in time for the Scourge to make their appearance.
This is the 'safer' event of the set in the sense that anyone may participate without fear of getting hurt unless they trip and fall, or have an unintentional accident themselves. The Phantoms only appear when its dark, so during the day everyone is safe meaning that even if you don't have a character that can fight, you can still play along.
Realistically, most of Tethys's allies (warband) won't be there just yet, so any Stormborn that participates in this particular event will most likely have been passing by or simply visiting during another Viking that isn't associated with Tethys's current conquest!
As always, everyone may participate.

How to Play
This event will be compromise of two parts, an 'opening' and then a 'chase'.
Catching the Scent:
Roll 1-10 sided dice.
Match any of the last three numbers on the opening post.
When you have matched the number, quote Epine de Rose in your next post to cue the second part of the event.
Wait until I've given the go-ahead to continue (this is the adminy bit so I don't miss anything!)
Once I'm all caught up, we'll move on to part two.
The Chase:
In order to complete the chases the participants must hit 500 'points'
To do this, you will need to roll 1 10-sided dice each time you post.
You and the other participants will tally up the totals, you are working as a team of hunters!
You must wait for one person to post before you can post again.
I may increase the point tally if you're all too good with your rolls, this is just to make sure everyone can achieve five posts and get credit for a full RP where possible.
When the point total has been reached, quote me!
Wait... because we like waiting right now for adminy stuff.
If the point total has been reached and the majority of people have successfully managed to achieve five posts in this time, then I'll run the raffle and announce the winner.

Additional Little Terms
Just to keep everyone right, there's some little caveats for this event which are really just here to help people along during the RP part of it...
Wait for someone to post before you post again.
You need to post more than a sentence please, this will help other people respond to you! (A paragraph is fine, no essays required).
Don't delete posts.
In this game you won't really glimpse a phantom until the tail end of it, simply due to how the timeline for this event and the invasion event fall.

Peace was always such a fickle thing and though the goddess had known very little chaos in her life she knew of it. So when the pride had discovered the body of a murdered lion she held her own, if not for her, then for the sake of her many children. It was during this bit of chaos that she learned her children would be participating in helping to find some evidence of the tragic event, this didn't sit well with Krisis, but she knew well enough to know that there would be no talking her brood out of what they intended to do. There was no way of knowing they'd even find anything, none had been determined to be great hunters.
"You should have gotten me." The tone she carried was stern and alert when she approached her daughter. Her little wings were pressed tightly at her sides and she looked dashing as ever, not a hair out of place. "Times like these you shouldn't wander." Even as the words left her lips she knew that she sounded foolish, this was the Bahari! The pride had handled itself over many moons and this would be no different, but she couldn't help picturing the dainty lioness before her doubled over in a pool of brightly colored blood. The sands would bathe in it, in her mind, causing a sickly picture against the horizon. The horror struck mother narrowed her orange-red eyes, but became silent while she turned her attentions to the task at hand.

 Jirru had been wandering about the lands as usual,but had stopped here briefly on her way through. the clan had been... forgiving enough not to attempt her on-sight demise, and even seemed willing to grant her passage. shed quite been enjoying her passage through and the safety of the clan when... well... this happened.
The cheetah took care to maintain enough distance from the scene that she couldnt be offhandedly accused of fault, but a nagging curiousity made her eager to see how things played out. she heard others talking nearby, quietly overheard their ideas and thought processes, but it didn't seem to be gettinganything done, yet. "so...does anyone recognize him?" she murmured sideways, to the pair quietly chiding one another. miss wings seemed a little more upset about something vaguely unrelated, but Jirru wasnt about to call notice to herself.

He had insisted they stick together. Nahodha’kota had lived here most of his adult life, he had raised his children here, he had guarded the borders and he had protected the peaceful life within. He had lived through several disasters, the heartbreak of his one true love passing away and several leaders taking over, but he had always been here. This was home and the horrendous actions that had taken place here, well, he was not best pleased. When he heard a search party was forming the jet black male, whos size made him seem formidable had called together several of his children and grand children to join the search.
He had, however, insisted that they stick together. All of his children were on the large size, he himself was hardly a slouch though the years showed on his mane where once it was blacker than coal now it was peppered with white. Most of this formidable size came from him and from Khepri, his ex-firekin mate passed along her giant gene and it was usually a defining characteristic of the extensive family even if their colours had diverged a lot. “Stay close together and search carefully children.” He called from the back of the pack of giants.
Vuai walked at the front of the group, he was the eldest of Nahodha’Kota children and he bore nothing but the red black and white of his mother and father. He had also gained his sheer size from his parents and though his father was massive Vuai had, since adulthood, stood a good couple of inches above his father and he was built as a firekin was with a body of muscle and sinew. It meant he looked very intimidating. He had spent his whole life here and followed his fathers example of becoming a guard. He had watched the borders every day of his life and he felt it was his mission to track down who had done the evil deed upon their peaceful shore.
Not too far behind Vuai trucked the equally sizeable very curly maned male Poseidon. Though his fur was mostly black and white he had gained some colour from his paternal grandmother and donned some soft pink. This really didn’t make him look any less than the giant he was. Though he was softer in his features than his older brother he was no less upset about the horrors that had come to their shore. He had been happy to follow his siblings lead though and followed his brother and father without hesitation.
The final male in the party was Triton, the youngest of the family, his pale coat made him stand out like a sore thumb against the black of his relatives. He was hardly any smaller than his grandfather, great uncle or great grandfather but he was the least experienced. He was the youngest and had been positioned almost at the back of the small group. He was however glad to have been included in the party. His mother had wanted to come along on the little expeditions and though she was far more formidable than any male, their patriarch had asked her to protect the cubs. His mother was good at that. She would protect the weak and the young, while they tracked down the evil doers.
Not too far above the large lions a flock of varying sized birds fluttered.
The first a raven with pale wings and a dark face his sharp eyes ear Hing the horizon. He occasionally let out a caw and all clear while his wings drifted along on updrafts.
The second had feathers as blue as the sea on a summers day, the vulture alighted upon the red maned lions head and ruffled his feathers grumpily “Nothin Yet Vuai.” He mumbled clicking his long beak in a distasteful manner.
The third a tiny red bird flitted in and out of rocks occasionally coming to rest in Poseidon’s mane where she would whisper in his ear before flittering off again.

Coburnycus was hardly the sort of male to be out and about searching for a murderer, but when the call had come out he had risen to the task. A lot of lions, and other creatures seemed to be out searching so it felt like he was a bit out of place. Still, he wanted to make Anya proud so he had come out to find out who had hurt a member of the pride he now called home, of course, he had no idea where to start and that was the problem. He considered following another lion and help them, that might be the best bet. With that in mind he scanned the beach for someone to tag along with.

It was crazy to think that this pride had been so peaceful for so long. No one would have ever thought something like this could have even been possible. At least she hadn't thought it would be given how peaceful the pride was in general. Still, here they were. One of their own dead and she was determined to at least help find the culprit who had committed such a heinous act.
Kawai tried not to tremble too badly as she approached a group of lions that were on the hunt for the murderer. As a daughter of the rulers of the pride she felt as though she had to help at least a bit in searching for those responsible, but the blue lioness was nearly frozen with fear at the thought that someone had been so bold as to waltz into their lands and murder a lion. She had hoped their neighbors in the jungle, the Kizi, might lend a paw in helping them figure out who had done it, but so far she hadn't spotted any of the light-hearted lions. Perhaps word hadn't spread yet.
