(open to anyone wandering in and out of the Infirmary, riders, weyrlings, candidates, anyone, Farellen just wants some company)

Farellen was stuck, swathed in bandages, warned that he had to stay still or the very deep wounds on his chest, back and shoulder, would burst their stitches (this was probably a horror story to make him stay still). The healers had said he was lucky he hadn't punctured a lung, in several places, from his cracked ribs and deep gouges by the dragonets claws. The wounds burned and itched though it had only been hours since it had happened, his Healers couldn't believe he was awake already and tried to dose him with Fellis but he promised to stay still, they threatened him with the fellis though, if he so much as twitched. He sighed, painfully, regretting taking such a deep breath, his face was also awash with bandages, a darkness over one side of it that covered his ruined eye (it had been removed, it was unsalvagable) in fact he only peeped out at the ceiling through a crack in the bandages. He'd been told he had lost the eye, he wasn't bothered by that so much as his arm, not only had it been extremely deeply bitten, the teeth had caused bones to snap and the Healers were worried about long term damage which had Farellen deeply, deeply sorry he had ever decided to try and stop the bronzes, how stupid he had been, and he'd almost been the cause of the White Dragon's death, well one of them and he hadn't been there when Huarwar's brother died, he'd have liked to comfort the surviving Twin....

So Farellen was bed bound and already bored, he hoped someone would come along and talk to him, maybe K'gan, or A'ral, but he knew the candidatemaster would be grieving, he HATED that he couldn't be there for the man many of them considered a father figure. Maybe someone would wander in out of the Feast and bring him something delicious? not that he felt like eating much but he wanted to be a part of it so much, even though he couldn't be.

Falienn was furious. How dare that green?! His perfect body, his perfect voice! The healers had finally turned him loose, rousing him from his drugged stupor to stagger about the infirmary. The feast, it seemed, was off the table for him. Not to mention that aside from perhaps a good broth, he'd be hard pressed to find anything edible in his sorry state. The heat from that too would hurt, so...cold broth. Delightful.

At least he wasn't to be alone in his misery. He'd been given a bed to claim for the night, as he'd not be heading back to High Reaches until at least the next day, but only after he'd crossed the room halfway, meaning to drop himself upon it, did he realize he had a roommate. Several, really, the infirmary housed many invalids after threadfall and the wild hatching, but one young man, about his own age or a bit older, who he thought he recognized from the sands themselves.

Silently he crossed closer, plucking up the blanket from his own bed and winding it around himself to burrow into the comfort it offered... And then he just...stared. Blank-faced, but interested, he silently gawped at the extent of the injuries on this fellow.

Maybe what the green had done wasn't the worst thing that had happened, but...it still shaffing well hurt!

Farellen could barely see and what he could hear was muffled by the bandages, but the Healers had gone quiet for the most part, after ensuring he was dosed with more pain relief. He lay for a while in silence and wondered if it wouldn't have been better to have accepted the Fellis, to sleep rather than just stare at the ceiling, his arm where it lay in it's bandaged splint, itched beyond crazy but he couldn't move to itch it with his good arm, all he could do for now was lay still, the chest wounds had been much deeper than those on his back and if he tried to get up, he could pull out stitches and make things worse. The very thread of DEFINITELY never Standing again was enough to keep him still, however the hovering idea of Possibly never being able to Stand, well he wouldn't think of that, he just had to believe he could once he was healed.

He heard a noise in the quiet, someone entering? someone leaving? "Hello?" he called out, turning his head so his one good eye could see around him, but even that movement made him hiss in pain as the muscles in his shoulder pulled. "I can't see you, but i'd be glad of the company" he called out to the person, he could almost feel them staring "You should see the other guy" he tried to joke, regretting it as 'the other guy' had been the poor White Dragon...

Falienn didn't hide his grimace as the fellow in the bed turned to try to spot him. What a mess. Honestly, the more he looked, the more he felt like he'd gotten off lightly. Still, the green pile of dung that'd done this ought to have been sent between, if you asked him...not that he could tell anyone just then, even if he was asked. It was...almost funny, he reflected. He couldn't talk, and this guy couldn't see. What a mess! A closer look proved that only one of the other male's eyes was bound up...With a huff, he pushed himself up from the bed he'd been leaning against, and in his blanket-robe, stepped around the cot to poke his head into the fellow's range of vision.

An almost casual hand lifted, a slight wave offered...and then he pointed, lifting his chin to show off the thick bandaging around his neck, and the edges of the teeth marks that trailed up the underside of his chin. On instinct he opened his mouth to explain that he couldn't talk, but when only a (rather painful) hissing sound of air came out, he grimaced, face darkening with a mix of a blush and anger, and he let his arm flop back down to his side. How dare that green.

Still scowling, he nonetheless held up a finger, just a moment, please, then ducked away. He didn't bother to pick up the chair that he came back with, just dragging it along, letting the slightly irritating scrape of it over the floor sound out his ire when he couldn't.
