Usushisa didn't typically walk along the borders. She hunted there occasionally, sure, but patrolling were for the Abaholi and Inselelo. However, recently, she was starting to wander further from her pride sisters to see if she couldn't catch her breath. She had been a busy bee lately, what with courting the eligible males, Faust and Budek and trying over and over to produce cubs with them. She wanted so badly to have a litter of her own, but even she needed a break sometimes.
So, she spent her time wandering as she waited and on this particular occasion, she found she wasn't alone. Standing at the border, covered with all manner of odd markings and accessories, was a lion. Her fur bristled at the sight of unnatural colors and she quickly looked behind her. There wasn't one of the traditional male protectors to come and see him shooed away. She sighed. It looked as though she would have to do that herself, lazy lions.
Striding forward, she roared out to him. "Who might you be, colorful stranger, coming so close to the Bonelands?"

((Congratulations, you have received an unhappy Umholi! If you wish to avoid potential interruptions in the future, just make sure your RPs are both ICly and OOCly in rogue lands. ;D ))
![User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Add in the size of the area the Ithambo'hlabathi ranged over, which was ever-changing and without the true borders of most prides, a need to eat and sleep and attend to duties other than patrols, and not every threat was noticed instantaneously. But it was noticed before it became a true threat, nowhere near the main body of the pride or the cubs. If a lioness decided to wander away on her own and far from the rest, well, she was grown and capable of making her own decisions, even if they turned out to be poor ones.
Umkhombo had caught the scent of a stranger and was already following it by the time one of the lionesses encountered the intruder in question, and once he'd caught up they'd already begun speaking. The very sight set him on edge, but he had a fine line to walk between doing what he was here to do - chase the foreign male away - and not raising the ire of his females if it could be helped. So, just in case the lady was fond of or connected to the male in some way (although family seemed highly unlikely), he didn't come charging in all teeth and claws. The dark male strode forward with purpose, outwardly calm but with threat displayed clearly in the posture of his large frame.
He addressed the female first, polite but tense, a forced smile on his maw. "Usushisa. You're quite far from your sisters. Hunting alone today? If so, I don't think you'll catch anything out here, not when all the game's seen this one coming a mile away. Perhaps you'd have better luck to the north."
"As for you," he rumbled as he looked the brightly-colored stranger up and down, taking in his strange burdens. "Will take yourself back where you came from, wherever that may be. Strangers aren't welcome here."

[Hey Bello! Let me know how you would like to continue this. I'm going to assume that the Umholi would take Usushisa back with him, unless she can escort Ali to the roguelands herself. I'm a little lost for the traditions of BL - if I'm honest lol]
Clearly this wasn't a place to be lost in thought - as he had been - long enough to miss a lioness from a distance, but not enough to miss the male. He glimpsed the lioness with mild intrigue, her reds were a delightful sight against the natural browns of the canvas. "I'm-.." His words were interrupted by a male that truthfully wouldn't need an introduction.
Golden eyes left the red hues for a much darker palette. Ali`dido immediately felt his paws extend their claws and dig into the soil before him. It was a natural reaction to the defensive approach the male had taken. Clearly he wasn't welcome and taking to his morals he wouldn't fight, but he couldn't help the way his fur bristled. A roll of his shoulders caused his trinkets and satchels to adjust themselves among his pelt and on his side.
"It's nice to meet you, Usushisa." He wasn't a fool, the name was easily caught and he was still polite. "Apologies if a hunt was your intention, your friend isn't wrong." Ali felt himself calm immediately as a laugh followed his apology before he turned to fully address the 'elephant' that had entered their friendly chat. He puffed his chest slightly as the males gaze ran over his various items - always a cause for conversation.
"Oh?" The curious bug had bitten him. "Truthfully I travel to learn about prides traditions and customs, would this be the only one I'd have the pleasure of learning about?" He hadn't anticipated being pushed away so soon, but he was sure, much like the pride his one lioness friend had - which hid in the shadows so to speak - this pride simply didn't like outsiders.
