1. Don't be a bully. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in the below contests.
 2. Take a moment to read about the pride. It'll be fairly obvious about who has or hasn't read the prides material and that can take a toll on your entry.
 3. These cubs will not be allowed to leave the pride untils adults. If they are leaving please contact Ness or I so we know about it and know why.
 4. More can and will be added as necessary.

Parents
Hoaka - Father - Hoaka is a fiercely protective lion. When the avalanche struck and destroyed the pride he called home Hoaka felt torn apart. He had lost his mate and his adult children. He spent his time wondering the rogue lands till he finally found his mate. It was shortly after that that they received word their home was being reestablished.

Now he is settled in and very excited to be welcoming his second litter with his mate. Hoaka can't help his protective nature and will watch over these cubs with everything he has.

Sabia`nafsi - Mother - For Sabia`nafsi these cubs will be a blessing that she will begin to inherit her old sweet natured self. When she was a young adult the Intaba had fallen apart due to an avalanche that came crashing down and disconnecting many members. During that disconnect she headed for the roguelands and eventually ended up in the Mwezi`johari just in time for a vile King to take reign and her life to turn upside down. Due to these life altering events she became hardened and nearly bitter - then Hoaka, her mate she had considered lost or dead - reentered her life once more. If she hadn't been so hateful she would have been overcome with joy.

Now she is has had a second chance to be overwhelmed by happiness. Surrounded by family and familiar faces she'll be able to mother these cubs in the safety of her home and with the love of her life right by her side.

These two are polar opposites for sight, but barely in looks. One has a very weak sight where the other has a very strong sight. How will this effect the relationship built between these two? Will it effect them? Does it put them at odds? Or bring them closer together? Please note that although it'd be well known that Sabia nor Hoaka will hold this over the head of the cubs. This may become a personal battle though.

This gal is the perfect color. Now if only she had the gifts associated with her pelt color. Unlike some of her siblings she has not been gifted with the prides sight. Please note that although it'd be well known that Sabia nor Hoaka will hold this over the head of the cub. This may become a personal battle though.

How does she handle not having the sight? [This gal has it going on.. sort of. The prides values her pelt above all else, but she's all white with no sight. It almost seems like a contradiction.]

Sight: None
Personality: A sweet girl that loves life and is very devote in following the religion of the pride as closely as one without the sight it able.

How does she handle not having the sight? [This gal has it going on.. sort of. The prides values her pelt above all else, but she's all white with no sight. It almost seems like a contradiction.]

Having none of the visions that are supposed to come with her coat color. She feels that she is lesser than her gifted sisters in some way. As such she tends to keep to herself not wanting to hear the whispers that she know's must be about her. How there was something wrong with her for her to have not been granted the sight from the gods. Trying to stay out of the prides eyes while being as devoted to the gods as possible to maybe someday be seen as worthy to wield the same sight as her sisters. Believing that since the sight was gifted by the gods originally after all perhaps if she proves herself to them she could be granted it in the future. She memorizes the stories and rituals the teachers instruct them in. Trying her best to please the gods. Upon growing still not having been gifted the Sight she will do the next best thing. If she does not have the sight then maybe her children will.

Lemera was excited. And expecting. She knew what her results would be. She had a pale coat, therefor she would have very strong seer abilities. This was her belief as a cub, even if she was reminded that there was just the higher chance, that nowadays, anyone could have weak or strong sight, as long as they had lion’s blood. Lemera didn’t care, however. She fully believed in herself. Sure, she hadn’t had her first vision yet. At least, she didn’t think she did. But that may just mean she was a late bloomer. That was all. And perhaps the sight would be even stronger, because of it.

So, when the ceremony would begin and Lemera is tested to have no sight at all… she would be devastated. Because she was certain that was her purpose in life, that she would make her parents beyond proud. Of course, they had assured her that they were proud of her no matter what but… it just wasn’t enough. Her meaning in life had been based on the proudness of her pelt and what it must have certainly meant.

Lemera would turn to being an Ulili'intombi but would be a bit envious of those with the sight. She will be forced to rethink what she wants to do with her life; after all, her original well thought out and sure plans had crumbled, despite warnings that she wasn’t guaranteed sight.

Lemera may end up leaving Intaba, depending on where plot takes her. However, only as an adult and only with a reason; she’s not one to abandon the home of her family regardless of her own feelings. Especially not a family as supportive as they are.

Eloquent Lunatic

PostPosted: Fri Dec 29, 2017 4:12 pm
Owner One: Kristin
Cub Name: Inyoni (bird)
Cub Rank: Ulili'intombi (Shrine Maiden)
Cub Chosen: [Gradient Legs (Very Weak)]
Personality: Inyoni begins life as a happy, playful cub like many do. Over time, as she begins to realize her favorite sister will so clearly out pace her in the gift of sight, a seed of jealousy and defeat grows in her heart. Although her sister never changes in her demeanor towards Inyoni, she finds herself growing bitter and angry the older and older she gets. Eventually she devotes herself as a shrine maiden and is nigh unapproachable by most lions, choosing duty above friendships because to her that at least means she is doing something good.

Owner Two: Felyn
Cub Name: Iluluwane (bat)
Cub Rank: Mlumbaji (Eloquent)
Cub Chosen: [Gradient Toes (Very Strong)]
Personality: Iluluwane begins life as a happy, playful cub like many do. Over time, her seer powers grow and she finds all the prospects in the pride lay at her paw tips. Unfortunately, her favorite sister and dearest friend does not find life so lucky and Iluluwane's heart grows heavy as they separate over time. She sombers into a sweet, if somewhat quiet lioness whose only goal in life is to help others become their greatest selves. Thus, she foregoes her ability to be part of the great seers in the pride and chooses, instead, to be an eloquent so that she can guide young hearts with knowledge and love.

Roleplay Prompt: [These two girls have been gifted with sight (in pride standards, not shop standards). One is strong and the other is weak. Being at two ends of the spectrum could do a number of things to the relationship of these girls. Tell us about that relationship. Does the difference set them at odds? Or is their relationship stronger for it? This is entirely up to you.]

Inyoni and Iluluwane begin life as very close siblings - the world is new and fresh and wonderful and as cubs there is very little that they would ever need worry about. They are nearly inseparable, always together, always laughing and playing without a thought to the machinations of the pride's adult lions or what growing up will mean for them. By the time they are adolescents, the differences in their "abilities" will begint to become clear and it will start to drive a wedge into what everyone always thought was a concrete bond. For Iluluwane's part, she will not begin to treat her sister any differently for her lack of strength as a seer but that almost seems to make things worse for Inyoni, who KNOWS the difference. Inyoni grates at the idea that they could be alike in so many ways EXCEPT the one that matters the most. As they grow into adulthood, the small seed of Inyoni's dismay and jealousy turns into a raging wild fire and though Iluluwane has never ousted her, it is almost too much for her to be in her sister's presence without being reminded of the gift she does not have. Instead, she dives into her work as a shrine maiden and Iluluwane, after spending so long trying to sooth her sister's soul, devotes herself to teaching as an eloquent in the pride, applying her many years of learned patience and her love of story telling to a greater good. Although she very likely could have aimed at being a priestess with her sight, she actively chooses not to draw attention to it for the sake of Inyoni's pride, and Inyoni herself may be more upset at her for doing so and throwing the gift away.
