[DUEL PRP] Booooooored (Korshel vs. Ursa)

What started as a groan steadily grew into an outright growl of frustration, the Vita' Grunt - Korshel - was off her claws with boredom. The meat was taking forever to get back to the pridal canyon, the heat was unbearable and none of the other grunts wanted to tussle or have any fun whatsoever. Dung headed whelps.

Rolling over onto her side she slumped and approached the dirt ring in the middle of the canyon before giving her limbs a small stretch. Just to shake the dust out of them before a roar ripped out of her like a thunderclap. Calling to someone.

"OI GEN'RAL???" Was the basic call, trying not to sound too pleading as she huffed and waited. "There's nothin' t'bloody do, wanna 'ave a scuff t'kill th' time? I'm antsy as all get out."

The general hadn't been up to darn near anything - the pride lands were doing well, which meant there was nothing exciting. The hunt was just about the only thing regularly going on besides spontaneous visitors, most of which were handled by Golka herself - understandably so.

So when the roar hit her ears she was up and in motion. Not long after she heard the voice, beckoning her over for a duel - or scuff as was so kindly put. "I s'pose I could take time outta my busy schedule." Ursa raised a single lip in an almost playful snarl. She approached the dusty ring with ease and pride - plenty of good came from these rings. She had earned her way up through the ranks by several means, many of which ended her up in this same place.

Once she entered the ring her playful snarl dissipated in favor for a straight look. "Well, how about it?" She turned to properly face her foe and lowered herself slightly, ears perked forward and eyes narrowed.

The orange female grinned just a bit as she watched Ursa enter the ring, shoulders rolling just a bit as she watched the General enter and tried to pull the straight look. Fighting was the essence of this pride, it built bonds, sorted arguments and kept the pride strong.

"Let's see if Thundersnarl can bring down the thunder eh?" It was a playful mock, she only had the highest of respect for her Generals...but fighting was fighting and what was fighting without a bit of playful, encouraging banter?

With a pounce she got up close and personal but maybe a bit hazardly, what she'd attempted was a tackle and only got a clawless slap on Ursa's back leg as she stumbled just a bit. Completely ill at defending herself in her eagerness.

This was where the pride thrived, within the dueling rings. They didn't lay dusty for long if any of the lions could help it and often times there would individuals lined up to witness and then participate following an event. This time was no different - as Ursa peered out she was amused to find growing interest in their duel. This came as little surprise since there wasn't much to be done and well watching a duel was simply as fun a past time as participating in one.

"Oh she can bring the thunder." The general unleashed a loud snarl that ended in an excited roar. Something that on a quiet day could be heard for miles. She had been aptly named 'Thundersnarl'. Her dull blue eyes narrowed at her competitor and a small broke the straight face she had chosen. It better suited the mood of their battle.

"Ah-ha!" The general proclaimed as she caught sight of her opposition attempt and launched herself to the side, successfully avoiding a possible swipe, and in turn she lunged forward. In that lunge she didn't account for some of the space she had created between them and left herself open to potential attack. Mentally she scolded herself for the risky maneuver.

Ah, this is what she loved, the thrill of a good duel with those she respected and cared for. She watched the lunge from Ursa and only narrowly avoided it as she watched her General and grinned as she straightened her legs and aimed a hearty THWAP of her paw for Thundersnarl's side. No claws out, not yet.

But as usual, Korshel was a cocky one and as she landed the smack of her paw she puffed her chest with a hearty chuckle, completely leaving herself open for anything the General had to throw back at her. But with other pride members to impress as they watched lazily from the sides of the ring, she didn't think ahead, just thought of the now.
