About the Family
Larak (belloblossom) and Usikuzuri (Ecavi) are not a couple, they come from completely different prides, are significantly different in age and have no formal obligation to each other outside of the cubs they now share.
Usikuzuri lives in the Pridelands, but was originally from the Mteo'nyungu. When their pride disbanded, she left with two older siblings and a friend and they all settled down into the nice, happy, stable, gigantic pride we all know and love. She is an older lady (G-8, obtained 9 years ago) who never took a mate and finally decided to just go out and get it done.
Her view on family is practical. She will be a loving mother, but she has no expectation that they will remain with her forever. She'll be sad but she will encourage them to go, if that's what they want to do.
All female cubs will have tattoos on their legs at adult, like those on Usiku's certed image. This is a tradition from the Mteo'nyungu and marks capable huntresses. It's something small but meaningful to Usiku, and no family member will be permitted to leave her care until she is satisfied they can keep themselves safe and fed. The boy for this contest will not have the tattoos but he will be aware of them and their meaning. He may be the only male in the family, so he may feel a bit left out.
Larak is a young lion from the Nergui. He won't be involved in the cub's lives until they are adolescent, when he plans to make the trip to the Pridelands to meet and assess each of them. If they are deemed fit, they will be invited to return to the Nergui with him. This is not to suggest he doesn't care about his cubs, that is exactly why he won't take them back to somewhere like the Nergui without the confidence they can handle it.
If you decide this cub should be unfit for the Nergui, he will be encouraged to keep growing and improving himself and his skills. If he is fit but unwilling, he can stay in the Pridelands or go off to seek his own fortune.
That's really up to you! You'll have no obligations to stick with either of us, though we would love if you played nice with us a little bit ;3
