Abilities/Skills: Photography - Kyon is a pretty good photographer. She is far from a professional, but she knows what she's doing. She is never seen anywhere without her camera.
Computer programming/hacking - Kyon is good with computers. Very good. She knows a lot about programming.. And sneakily hacking into other people's computers.
Swordsmanship - She has a.. Knack for sword fighting, although she has not had any formal training. She relies on instinct and speed.
Thievery - Kyon is also quite good at stealing. She mostly makes a game of picking pockets, but she has been known to steal under other circumstances as well.
Crow Physiology - Although human in appearance, she possesses many of the physical abilities of crows, including enhanced agility, balance, endurance, and reflexes, as well as being able to adapt to high altitudes with relative ease. Her senses are also sharper than a normal human's, with her hearing and vision being especially sharp. She also can bite.. Really hard.

Clairvoyance - A form of extrasensory perception wherein users are able to acquire knowledge by visual means. With this, she can gain a direct visual information about an object, person, location or physical event through means other than her physical sight. This allows her to act when she is unable to use her eyes and allows her to hear things at distances that would normally render them inaudible. Users of this power can sense/see/hear spiritual/psychic beings and other people's presences and perceive emotions, thoughts and memories of others.

Wind Manipulation - Kyon can generate and control moving air, known as wind. Wind occurs because of horizontal and vertical differences in atmospheric pressure, and include breezes, squalls, gusts, whirlwinds, zephyrs, gales, tempests, and hurricanes. She can use wind to aid in combat, carry sound further, move objects, generate a 'sharp' wind capable of cutting, as well as other wind related abilities. She is also capable of nullifying natural winds, or enhancing them.
~ She cannot create wind in a vacuum.
~ A strong flame can be.. Problematic, because fire noms oxygen. It also poses problems for breathing.
~ If someone can use electrons to detonate various compounds within air.. She may not be able to avoid being harmed.
~ It doesn't work well against air manipulation.
Teleportation - She is capable of teleporting short to medium distances.
~ The place she teleports to must be within her line of sight, or she risks hurting herself. Such as teleporting into an object, or hitting something unexpectedly.
~ The absolute maximum distance she can manage is about 20 yards, but at that range she finds that it is accompanied by feelings of extreme motion sickness and physical pain/exhaustion. Anything beyond 10 yards causes this, but to a lesser degree

Personality: Kyon is a very cheerful, energetic person, bordering on hyperactive. She is quick to approach other people, treating strangers with the familiarity of old friends. She has a tendency to say or do strange things, sometimes for seemingly no reason whatsoever. Even though it seems like she has a short attention span, it's really just that her thoughts tend to move very quickly. Faster than most people can keep up with. Despite this, she has no fear when it comes to socializing. In fact, she is proud of how eccentric she is.
Although she seems spacy, she often knows far more than she lets on. Kyon is a very observant person, with an excellent memory. Even in serious, or downright terrifying situations that would make most people freak out, she is able to keep a smile on her face and a cheery demeanor. This is because she views happiness as a choice, and she would much rather be happy than afraid. When she wants to know something, there is almost nothing that will stop her from finding it.. But her determination can lead her into bad situations. Her confidence often borders on overconfidence.
Her former classmates would probably describe her as a b***h, but that is because she has a habit of ferreting out secrets. This makes her an easy person to dislike, as those secrets rarely remain secret once she knew about them. Furthermore, while she loves finding out the truth behind everything, she has a tendency to exaggerate, which does not help matters. Although she is capable of keeping important secrets, she normally won't. She is more likely to act in a self-serving way than to help someone, so if she does help a person, it's usually to get something. She can be quite manipulative and she doesn't seem to have any problems with breaking the law.
Fears: Ending up like her mother. Other than that, spiders and being caught breaking rules.
Backstory: Kyon grew up in a single parent household with three younger siblings. Her father left when she was six, so her mother had to work long hours to support try to support them.. Only with some success. She and her siblings were in and out of the foster system fairly often, starting when she was eight. Much of what happened there doesn't need telling. Oh, her mother tried her best, but it wasn't always enough. There were times when they didn't have electricity, or running water, which caused she and her siblings to be placed into government care until her mother had the money to get them out. Going to public schools only helped a little bit. Poor excuse for education and having to deal with the cruelty of other children.
There was one thing that really separated her from the other children though. It was another cause of bullying, but ever since she was small, she had noticed that she tended know things that others didn't. More than that, she often bested her classmates in most, if not all, of the classes at her school. As she got older, she found that her abilities grew as well, but she was able to learn more about what she could do, and how to control them. Where much of her life made her bitter towards her parents and the world at large, she found solace in secretly practicing her abilities.
By the time she was thirteen, she had developed an interest in photography. She began to take a lot of photographs of things that she saw. Things that she wanted to remember.. And just things in general. Her mother had finally managed to land a job that paid well enough to support them, though the hours were still very long. Kyon began to realize just how easy it was to find out the secrets of other people. At first, it just amused to her know things that most assumed were secret, but she quickly realized that such knowledge could be.. Advantageous. At first, she just played around with spreading rumors, watching with amusement as secrets came out, friendships were ruined.. It was a fun game, for a while.
When she was fourteen, she joined the school newspaper, where she truly was able to shine.. She always knew the juiciest gossip, but she also knew many people's 'dark secrets'. There were things she wanted, and she wasn't above blackmail to get it. All she had to do was prove that she knew things that some of her richer classmates didn't want spread around the school. Although, she didn't really need to be truthful, it was more fun for her that way. She quickly learned that, while words could ruin someone's reputation, pictures were worth infinitely more. That was fine with her. She liked taking pictures. It certainly made things more juicy, although the teachers didn't appreciate her digging up so much dirt either.
She had a lot of trouble with some people for what she did, but the lesson she took away from such instances was how to be more careful. Putting things up on the school board anonymously was one good way to make sure something was spread around the school. She probably had more fun than she should have. It especially delighted her to be able to get the school bullies back. This continued until last year, when her mother decided to transfer her to Videl after receiving a letter and saving up the money to do it. It was the middle of the year. At first she was annoyed, but she soon found out that this school was infinitely more fascinating than the one she had come from. She learned that she was a 'gifted human'.. That was why she had the abilities she did.. And there were many others. Gifts, or curses.. And nonhuman beings. What was really interesting was that no one seemed to really know what was going on at the school, with all the horrible things that had happened.
Naturally, this piqued her interest. She loved a good mystery. This one was different from others.. Supernatural mystery with death and terrible things happening. It might seem like there was no reason, but she was certain that there was some kind of reason why bad things were happening. Unfortunately, she didn't get all the answers she wanted. It was proving rather tough. She decided not to tell her mother about any of the supernatural shenanigans at the school. She doubted she would get to go again, but while she had been gone, her mother had met someone. A man who Kyon instantly disliked. Something about him seemed off to her. Maybe it was how he talked, the comments that were like insults disguised as praise.. Or maybe it was the way he bossed around her smitten mother. But he had money.. And after seeing how excited her oldest daughter was about the school, her mother was able to convince him to help pay for her to go there again. She's a few days late for the start of the new year, but she is looking forward to more excitement.

Extra: She writes a blog about what goes on at the school, from her own point of view. Most of her readers think it's fiction, and she has changed the name of the school and the names of the staff for it.
The camera she is usually seen with is a blue Kodak Easyshare Sport camera, but she also owns a Nikon D3300.
