Personality:
Playful: Everything is a game with Ima. At least she makes it into one. She looks for any way she can to win her own game within her own set of rules. She likes to keep her mind sharp like this and it often pushes her to think outside of the box. However, this causes really bad complications when it's supposed to be a serious moment and she's still playing her games. It's largely due to the fact she would play with the house boys when she was young. Her father would give the boys a key or hints to where he's hidden a present. They would play together like this to keep her mind off of her mother.
Charismatic: Ima is usually very good with social cues, reading energies of the room, and knows how to keep the good vibes going. She can be goofy and tell funny stories with voices and faces. Ima tries to keep everyone smiling and it's often not hard. That is not to say she doesn't have her moments where she doesn't know what to do. When this happens, Ima tends to go fairly quiet and worries her hands together, picking at her fingernails.
Spoiled: She's a very spoiled child, being noble born. Ima is used to getting exactly what she wants and when she wants it. There can be major hissy fits if her mood is already bad and she's not getting her way. She can dissolve into this whiny, screaming mess of a teenager and really show's how immature she can be. If she doesn't want to do something, she'll dig her heels in like a dog and get very rude and snippy. It's got to be her way or no way at all.
History: Rasan and Soliea are Ima’s father and mother, respectfully. The family believes themselves to be noble, or of just more importance than the rest. The family’s fortune comes from the Aldabuk hair business. (When he was a young lad, Rasan’s family lived in Tale for a while before coming back to Oba with enough Aldabuk to start the business. They’d seen how well it had done in Tale and thought they’d try to do the same in Oba.)
Soliea’s parents owned several weapon shops through out Oba, and weapons always seem to be in demand. However, Soliea’s sister was quickly draining the money and her parents didn’t have the heart to just cut her off. They were faced with bankruptcy. Only then did they cut Ima’s aunt off from all funds.
With their money depleted and only having enough for a dowry and to live very modestly while their weapon shops did their job, Soliea’s mother was unhappy. She wanted more. She wanted her old life back and that’s when she found herself a rich man who could supply her with her every whim while her own money stayed safe and slowly adding up again. That’s when she talked to Soliea and told her she absolutely had to marry, and soon.
Soliea met Rasan at a party one night, at the bar there. She was getting another glass of whine when they started talking.
What Soliea didn’t now was that Rasan had to quickly find a wife. His family was threatening to cut him off if he didn’t finally ‘settle down’ and be ‘normal’ with a woman. So, as he found Soliea beautiful and funny, he decided to ask her to marry him after only a few months. Of course Soliea said yes because she believed a prince was coming to her rescue.
Soliea’s parents were pleased with the match because Rasan seemed like a weak willed, gentle son-in-law. Rasan’s parents were thrilled because Rasan had taken an interest in a woman.
Soliea thought her new husband would be obsessed with her. She thought, because her mother kept whispering into her ear, that Rasan would never leave her side for the first few months of their marriage. Unfortunately that wasn’t true.
Rasan left as soon as he finished his meal with his new wife. He went to a tavern every night and apparently was having relations with a man there. Soliea learned this through several maids who were talking too loudly next to her.
Soliea confronted Rasan about it, and he admitted it was true. She pleaded with him. They hadn’t consummated their marriage. She told him in order for everyone to be happy, including her, that they must have a child together. Her mother had been on her about it since they’d gotten married and Soliea reported nothing of a wedding night.
It took a lot of alcohol, but eventually they did conceive a child. Ima was born too early, however, and nearly died a few times. Since then, Ima’s father and nurses treated her as though she were a sickly child. She was never left unattended.
Rasan is a constant in Ima’s life. Soliea, however, took to drink as soon as Ima was born. She never breastfed. Ima was born the wrong gender, and Soliea knew that this was the only child she’d have. There were complications after the birth that left her unable to have more.
Ima’s relationship with her mother is rather odd. Soliea often tries to forget her life in the drink and just brushed Ima off as a child. Telling her: Oh go play with Nanny. The days where Ima’s mother isn’t drunk, she’s taught how to seduce men, taught that men couldn’t be trusted because they’re all liars. Unfortunately those days were never long, as with dinner meal, Soliea started drinking again. Then Ima gets called useless and sends her away.
In her younger days Ima knew more about the nannies and maids than her mother. More than once Ima was in the kitchen, learning to make pies and all the food that was served to her parents. She made her first breakfast all by herself under the supervision of the large chef, Tomin. This still continues to this day when she’s visiting her mother in the main house.
In the back of the main house, across a field, is her father’s house. Rasan and Soliea separated after Ima was old enough to understand what was happening. Rasan moved his male lover in, named Bash.
The only one who comes from the main house is Ima, so the main house servants have no idea he’s there. The little staff in Rasan’s house adore the pair of men they work for. They find Ima an absolute delight.
Ima is a sickly woman now. If she over exerts herself too much, she ends up in bed with so much pain in her joints. No one’s quite sure what’s wrong with her, but they all blame it on her being born too early.
Physical description: Like the reference, but with a face shape like this and those lips. Her nose is wide and flat and lips are very pronounced and puffy. |

Okay so these are going to be in no particular order, just as they come to me:
First off, her concept art is really cute, like holly heck her hair is such a nice ombre.
And from there, I'm not sure that wool exists in Tendaji, as there are no sheep. Perhaps there is another animal you could use? The Aldabuks are a similar equine animal, maybe they use their hair for textiles? I know that many middle-eastern/african peoples herd goats irl, so it wouldn't be that far off.
Why would Rasan's family, who appeared to be more well off/secure than Soliea's, marry off their son to her family? It sounds like she was not doing well in the money department, and they had no noble title, so why would they take a risk with her family? What did they have to offer? How did Rasan feel about the marriage? He clearly has other tastes, did he put up any fight?
Mistresses and secret lovers are quite taboo in the noble community, so what made Bash come out of the shadows? How often is he able to come in contact with Ima, a girl who is not even his daughter, enough to be considered a second father? Must they meet in secret? How are the two noble families okay with a gay man coming into their inner circle, especially a lowly barkeep? One who tore their children apart? How is he able to get away with living in the same house as Rasan and Ima?

Heras did the art! ;; I love the design so much.
As for wool, I can easily change it to aldabuks. I thought wool or something at least similar would be possible in Tendaji, seeing how we don't know all the animals and things. xD
Rasan didn't really put up a fight when it came to he marriage. He needed someone to hide his secret behind and thought if not her then it'd be some other girl. He was basically using her as a beard. He figured why not Soliea? She'd be just as good as anyone because he wanted someone else.
As for how Bash's presence makes a splash.. Soliea basically pretends he doesn't exist. If she had time/room to think about it she would end up in violent fits. Soliea's never told her family about Bash, so as far as she knows, they don't know. Rasan's family has inklings about his tastes, but they feign ignorance to just pretend they have something of a 'happy' union. If grandparents come over to play, Bash is in the village, Ima is with her parents, and everyone plays the part of the happy family.
"No need to make the old sick with worry and disgrace," her mother would say while filling her glass once more.
When she was having father time, Rasan always took her to go see Bash. There he would see his little girl blossom into a happy lady instead of always on her toes around her mother, tense because of lessons and the constant drinking.
Bash doesn't live in the same house. He lives on their property in a little house meant for servants that Rasan gave to Bash to keep him close. He doesn't go into the main house, even to leave, he'll take the long way around via carriage or a mount depending on where he's going.

Ima does not resent Bash in the littlest bit. Her feelings are that her father and Bash belong together and that honestly, they should have been together from the start. She realizes she wouldn't be part of that equation, but those are her feelings none the less. She absolutely adores Bash.
She doesn't clearly understand why the men can't be together, but it is what it is. She can't do anything to change adult decisions that were made before her time.
There's some mixed feelings from the staff. For the most part they're okay wit Bash living on the property. They really do wish Rasan would try to get to know his wife, instead of just living there when it's convenient, because the poor women could use someone to talk to and just be with in some way. Not everyone is comfortable with the situation, and so they don't tend to Bash or his needs. They'll ignore him, or ignore Rasan when they're with him.
Rasan won't raise a stink about it until it goes on far too long, and then he ends up firing them. Soliea doesn't really pay too much attention to the staff faces, just that there's someone to call upon when she wants them to do something. In a way she's oblivious to a lot in her near constant drunken state.

How is she playful when it comes to dealing with people? Is it different when it's strangers rather than friends? Does thinking everything is a game make her competitive? Does it turn a sour note for her when she can't win?
How does she deal with a situation when her charisma isn't winning someone over? What happens when someone is being difficult towards her?
How does her playfulness coincide with her spoiled attitude? She seems to be painted as very light and non-serious, but she also has these wicked fits and stubborn streaks, so where does she draw the line? Does she handle everything that doesn't go her way with a fit? Like is she more likely to be described as immature rather than just playful?
If they are Oban, and live in Oba, I'm not sure an aldabuk hair business is something that would exist. Can you elaborate more on their business? Did thet live in Tale?
Can you elaborate more on the situation involved in the parent's marriage? It's very confusing, Ima's parents are rich, but their money ran out, so they wed to get more money... but who has the money? It sounds like the history may need to be revised to clarify. Did the mother's family run out of money due to the mother's sister? Did the father have money? Where did his money come from? Where did the mother's money come from?
Why did her mother turn to drinking after having Ima rather than just trying for more children? Why didn't they just keep going until they had a son?
There are a lot of people in Oba and a lot of people going in and out of their house, such as servers and housekeepers. How do they deal with the fact that the man's gay lover is in the estate living with them? It's one thing to pretend to family you might not see all the time, but there are neighbors, workers, etc that make up a social circle who would definitely disapprove. |

It does vary from friends to strangers. She's more open and willing to push a bit further with her friends. She prods a bit to know their limits. With strangers she has a conversation with them first, or attempts to. If they seem like the right kind, she'll start off with just some really small jokes here and there and try to feel out if this person would appreciate more playful tones, such as playful teasing, or flirting.
Thinking everything is a game does tend to make her really competitive. She's been known to be a very sore loser if she loses at a game she really, really wanted to win. Sure, winning all of the little games and competitions is her ultimate goal, but sometimes she cares more about winning than other times.
When she was younger, she threw tantrums when she wasn't allowed to do exactly what she wanted. She would scream and cry and throw herself to the floor. Growing up, however, both of her parents have instilled in her the 'count to ten' method and taking deep breaths. She really does try this first before the first foul word can slip from her lips. Usually she'll try to remove herself from the situation that's not going her way, effectively just giving up instead of trying to work with or through whatever is making her this upset.
