Leoconoe District's famous as well as largest Ice Rink in all Amphitrite City. This Ice Rink is open to the public and due to its massive size there is enough room for everyone! It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or an expert, all that matters is to have fun and be safe! On certain occasions or special events, there are live performances and even musicals for everyone to enjoy so be on the look out for future fun events~
Description: The Ice Rink is inside a dome which can open up to allow the public to skate either inside or outside. The dome normally stays open for an outside Ice Rink, but in the occasion of heavy weather, it will transform into an outside Ice Rink. There are assistants stationed in the Ice Rink to help anyone who may require assistance skating.

It didn't take very long for Nirav to figure out where the skate rink was, but upon actually walking up to it, it was far bigger than he had imagined. Honestly, the rink was just massive! He watched as people skated about on the ice, and the thought was honestly really freaky. How did they not fall through? Were there lifeguards around? How were they actually moving? Nirav followed some other people as they exchanged their shoes for skates. Nirav laced them up and tried to stand, though almost immediately fell back into his seat on the bench. His feet weren't completely and firmly on the ground and the feeling of walking on a blade of metal was absolutely foreign.
Nirav looked around from his seat, noticing some people with pokemon helping them navigate around. So Nirav brought out Kumo, figuring Raja wouldn't be much help in this situation. "Drif... loon?" the pokemon asked, wondering where in the world they were. Nevertheless, he wrapped a string around Nirav's arm and wobbled to the ice with him. If Kumo was heavier, he might've made a difference, but Kumo wasn't heavy enough to push or pull Nirav anywhere. Kumo was still pretty happy to be out, even if he wasn't doing much to help. The wobbling only got worse as Nirav hit the ice. He pushed himself away from the edge, though realized that actually moving somewhere was far more complicated than it seemed. His legs would drift apart and together with any slight movement, and he had no clue how to stop or turn. Not to mention, the idea that the weight of everyone skating could break the ice was slowly beginning to set in as he got further and further from solid earth.
He tried to push himself forward, but only ended up wobbling around and falling backwards onto the ice. Standing up proved equally difficult, as the boy slipped around as he tried to get back on his own two feet."Flooon, floon!" Kumo said as he tried futilely to pull the boy up before just floating in front of him. "Drifloon?" Nirav sighed, managing to slowly pick himself back up before grabbing a hold of his pokemon. "Not everyone can float, Kumo." He didn't want to flag down a stranger or one of the assistants near the edge of the rink, nor did he want to lose a hold of Kumo, who had a track record of running off towards anyone who would talk to him. So Nirav tried moving around a few more times with the same outcome: moving a few feet before wobbling around and eventually slipping back onto the icy ground.
Kirsi ran right up to the rink's barrier, skidding to a halt with a thump. She clung to it with chilled hands, her mouth with a big grin. "Wow, it's so cool. At home, we used to go out on the lake to skate all the time. You'd have to be careful, since if you went to far the ice could get thin and break," she chattered on. Of course, it was so cold year-round in Snowpoint that thin ice wasn't a problem very often, but Kirsi had learned the importance of safety thanks to her parents. Her grip on the barrier tightened. She wanted to skate with Rina and Ray.
"Look, I think I see Nirav!" Kirsi pointed to the distant figure, who was showing all the signs of a skating newbie; butt and arms poking out, moving glacially slow...and falling down! He had some pokemon that looked like a balloon in tow, but it didn't look like it was helping his balance much. "Come on, let's go get skates."
Kirsi got her pair and tied it on, nodded with satisfaction at the fit. She held onto the bench as she stood, shaky for a moment. Then with one step she grew used to the familiar feeling of walking on blades; she was always amazed at how easy it was compared to how hard it looked. "Let's go, Koru! I'll help you. Do you mind waiting here, Chance?" Chance whuffed, wagging his tail, and hopped up on the bench she had used for putting on her skates. He sat, now tall enough to see over the rink wall and onto the ice. Kirsi laughed at pat him on the head. "I promise next time we go home you can come out with me. Chance knows how to walk on ice," Kirsi told Koru.

How did he missed this. Cyril stared at the humongous ice field. He hadn't paid much attention to the open field teeming with people before and now he saw it for what it was when he entered. The dome was open to allow people to get good view of surrounding. It was different compared to lake skating that took place in natural ice that formed during winter. This was clearly man-made. People skating without care of thin ice or having any need to avoid outcropped rocks. Instead, he would need to take care not to bump into another, seeing how packed the place was. He had to queue on a line to rent one of their ice skate.
Aisha ran all the way to the barrier, she called out for him to hurry, Cyril could easily tell. "Calm down," he replied as he sat himself on a bench. "It's not going anywhere, so come here and sit with me, Aisha," he called for the snorunt to return to him, while he set himself to change his shoes into the skate with practiced ease. Ice skating had been one of the highlight entertainment during Winter, one that he could indulge on without costing him too much money. He could walk on top of the ice too, to reach places he couldn't access during any other season. A thud and cried of 'snoo' let him know that Aisha had heeded his call. Siegrid had hopped down from his shoulder to greet Aisha. He was curious about what was happening around him. "Never skate before, Sieg?" Cyril asked as he rose to test his footing. "Snea?" Siegrid asked back, not understanding. Whether it was the term or the act of skating, Cyril wasn't sure. "You will see soon. You can't call yourself ice type if you haven't skated before," Cyril ruffled the sneasel's head. it was best to show Siegrid rather than trying to explain with words. Aisha was itching to go, while Cyril knew he should have look for Nirav or Kirsi and koru, he wasn't sure he would be able to find them among the crowd. He supposed he could enter the rink and kept an eye for them while he was in it.
Siegrid was a natural. The sneasel took small steps at first, then figured out how to slide. "Snea sneasel!!" his delighted cry could be heard as the pokemon slide alongside him and Aisha. Cyril let them to play, he had told them to stay by his side and not bother other skater. He trusted them to listen to him, so he can focus on scanning the crowd as he skated. It didn't take long for him to find Nirav. He was near the edge, holding on to his driffloon, kumo while trying to stay on his feet and failed as Cyril saw him fell. Well . . . Cyril found where he should head to. He pushed one foot forward then his other followed with enough strength to zip him to his destination. Both his pokemon tried to catch up with his sudden acceleration. "HEEY!! NIRAV, OVER HERE!" Cyril yelled out, trying to get Nirav's attention and slowed to a stop near him. Cyril had passed by him by a bit as he couldn't slow down enough in time. Aisha came by after him, she jumped. Uh-oh, "Aisha, DON'T!" he urgently ordered. Thankfully, Aisha froze due to his commanding tone, but she was already mid-jump and the force was enough to send her crashing face first and slide off. Cyril winced that he had caused it, but it was better than what would have happened if he didn't. Aisha needed a stern talking. " . . . I will go retrieve her," Cyril told Nirav as he took off to pick up Aisha. It was close call there. Aisha was about to tackle Nirav and in this slippery ice, the result would be disastrous. Siegrid was unsure, looking back and forth between Nirav and Cyril, before deciding to follow his trainer.

Kirsi seemed so excited for the ice rink. Koru had never been ice skating before, closest thing would have to be rollerblading but even at times she would fall flat. Kirsi thumped into the the railing of the rink, for once Koru wasn't the first one runnning towards something. She got to her friends side and was in awe at the large area of ice, and even more impressed with all the people skating like it was nothing. Guess people that lived around here knew how to. Kirsi talked about skating at the lake back home, she sounded so happy talking about it. Koru gave her a big smile and then shrunk into a smirk,"Cool! There's nothing like that around Ecruteak. We kinda stay in a barely winter we're more of a fall place...I've never even ice skated before..."she turned her eyes away from her friend in embarrassment, cheeks becoming flushed. The idea of being on the ice felt intimidating, but she wouldn't know if she didn't try.
Kirsi noticed Nirav, now he was trying, and sorta failing, but he had his balloon pokemon helping him out,"Looks like he's tryin' to get the hang of it-? Oh okay!"She followed the girl quickly to get skates, mimicking her actions to obtain them. Putting them on felt like she was putting big snow boots on, but with a shiny sharp blade at the end. She and Cyndaquil synced their nervous gulps staring at the blades that were now going to be below her feet. A few clanks made her notice that Kirsi was already walking around like there weren't any blades there. She seemed so natural it was like she was getting to see whole new side to her friend. She was ready to go and Koru took a deep inhale through her nose,"O-okay! Please don't let go...!"She reached out for her friends arms but upon standing she suddenly felt her weight fighting for balance and she fell against Kirsi in a hug like position,"Least Nirav isn't the only newbie around anymore...Cyndaquil keep by Chance okay? I don't want you wandering around and melt anything okay?"Cyndaquil nodded and hopped onto the bench and climbed up Chance and sat on the dog's back, like he was on his shoulders overlooking the rink. Koru used her arms against Kirsi's to bring herself up, but her legs still shook,"Cyndaquil might melt the rink if he tried going out there,"she tried to watch Kirsi's feet move along to see if it would help,,"Kir you make this look really easy!"She wasn't afraid to admit that this was frustrating, but again- it doesn't hurt to try until she falls flat on her butt.
Koru closed her eyes when they took their first steps into the rink. Koru immediately felt her legs going away from each other. Her eyes grew wide and she pulled herself up,"No way am I doing a split here!"Struggling just to keep herself up she noticed something in the air. She looked more over Kirsi's shoulder and pointed, almost falling over one side,"Is that Cyril's Sneasel? Omph!"they witnessed the pokemon's crash which caused Koru to wince. Over at the benches Cyndaquil even covered his eyes with his scarf, he thanked goodness he couldn't go out there..."Ouch that had to hurt...Let's get over there?"She let go of Kirsi's arm and let herself drift next to her friend. Seemed she was slowly getting the hang of standing still on the ice, but moving hadn't even started yet...

Nirav looked around, soon recognizing Kirsi and Koru as they began to near the rink. He waved his arms, hoping they would see him. But his attention was taken elsewhere as he heard Cyril yell from a little further over. It seemed like he had missed the blue haired boy and his pokemon getting onto the ice! Cyril was coming in at lightning speed with both his pokemon in tow. "Cyril!"he yelled, rather concerned about being hit. Cyril moved around him as he tried slowing down, leaving Nirav in the middle of his Snorunt's crash course. His instinct was to run, so he tried, only slipping around. Thankfully, he was able to catch his balance and avoid falling in front of his friends. Aisha, however, hit the ground and slid further away. Nirav winced a little, knowing just how that felt from his mere few minutes on the ice. "Is Aisha ok?" he asked him, watching as Cyril went over to claim his pokemon. Soon, Kirsi and Koru were making their way over there, Kirsi skating and Koru sliding along. It didn't seem like she was super familiar with skating either. "Flooon!" Kumo called, excited to finally be talking to people. He tried to float off towards Koru and Kirsi, but Nirav kept a good grip on him. The last thing he wanted was Kumo floating off and the boy unable to catch up to him. "Hey guys, what have you been up to?"Nirav asked. The boy felt like he was yelling to speak over the noise of the skates against ice and other chatter. However, it was only a little louder than normal. He wondered what the other three had been up to since they split up at the train station. Hopefully they were having fun too.
ooc: I'm guessing whoever goes next can feel free to have them do things or skate, otherwise they might just end up standing on the ice forever haha razz
Kirsi laughed, catching Koru easily. "Just try to get your ankles straight! It's a lot easier than when you get on the ice." The ground was covered in a thick flooring that caught the blades well. Kirsi helped Koru wobble over to the entrance, a break in the wall of the rink where people could get in. "Okay, so I'm gonna get on first. You can hold onto the wall if you need. Just...step on, and hold on, and then get both feet in." Kirsi hadn't actually helped many people learn how to skate...they usually knew already. For her, she didn't really get what was hard about it. You just...did it.
Kirsi helped Koru to the wall, then stepped onto the ice herself. As soon as both feet were down she felt immediately giddy. She couldn't help but kick forward, gliding straight out. The brief wind rustled her hair, and she drank in the sound of skates cutting the ice that was music to her ears. She slowed and pivoted, then pushed herself back to Koru. "Okay! Ready?" She held out her arms, taking Koru's elbows as her friend stepped shakily into the rink. Kirsi strained to keep both her balance and Koru's as they inched out. Koru's feet, angled just slightly outward, began to slide apart. Koru seemed to panic, jerking to straighten herself. "Don't move too fast!" Kirsi breathed, amazed they hadn't fallen over.
Koru saw something behind them. Kirsi craned her neck, barely able to see. "Yeah, okay!" She grinned at Koru, very aware that they hadn't started to really move yet. Slowly, Kirsi drifted away so Koru would be on her own. She pulled lightly on her friend's arm so Koru was inching forward. "You'll have to push yourself if you wanna move. Maybe stay close to the wall?" Kirsi kicked forward, skating backward so she could watch Koru.
As Koru made her slow way over, Kirsi began to skate ahead for a bit, then come back to make sure Koru was still coming. She saw Nirav and Cyril, and smiled to see both their pokemon with them. Seeing Cyril, who she could tell was comfortable on the ice, next to Nirav who was clearly new, made Kirsi suddenly think of herself and Koru. Huh; she never would've thought she'd ever compare herself to Cyril.
"Hey!" Kirsi slid to a smooth stop, wanting to show off but not really able to since she kept it slow for Koru. "We went to all the raffle games, and won some plushies. Then we came right here. It's really different to skate on a rink like this instead of a lake like home." Kirsi looked out to the center of the icy oval. There was no one out there- everyone skating more or less in the same direction around the outside. She wondered if the ice there was just has thick as the outside, and if you didn't have to worry about falling through. She knew it was probably safe, but a part of her still got nervous whenever someone skated close.

After parting ways with Elaine, Hakeem followed the students and other staff to the lodge and obtained his room. He definitely wasn't going to be sitting around in his room, even if the bed was calling to him like a siren at sea. He wanted to explore the district some... he considered it an added measure in making sure the kids would be okay.
Hakeem made his way to ice rink. It was large, populated and teeming with students. Who was he kidding, he wanted to ice skate. It had been forever since his feet touched the ice. It was something that his sister did with him so naturally he had to learn since she was the only girl and he couldn't say no to her. Beside his brothers had no interest in ice skating with their little sister.
Hakeem grinned as he started to tie the laces on his skates. The feel was nostalgic and new as he was in a bigger pair of skates. Stepping onto the ice..Hakeem tried to get back into the rhythm of his skate. He started in the area that was basically for beginners before moving more towards the center of the center. That was wear the more experience would skate.
He wasn't anything like them but not a beginner like the students were either. He hummed to himself as he skated, swaying side to side before turning to skate backwards for a moment.

Cyril skated to Aisha side. "Aisha? are you okay?" he bent down careful to keep his balance and picked her up. "Sno . . ." the snorunt appeared to pout which was understandable as Cyril was the one who caused her to fall like that. It wasn't as damaging as it appeared for a pokemon. It was only as strong as getting tackled by another pokemon. "Aisha," he sighed, knowing well that he needed to reprimand her. "It will be much worse than a bruise for Nirav if you tackle him," he told her. He won't apologize to Aisha, no matter how the snorunt tried to give him puppy eyes. "How many times have I warned you to see your surrounding before tackling anyone," he wasn't against Aisha from showing her affection. The only thing that he disapproved of was them causing harm or trouble to other. However, Aisha sometimes forgot when she got excited. "Consider the fall your punishment," he said as he gently brushed his hand over her bruise and put and end to their talk.
"Sorry about that, Nirav," it was the first thing he said as he joined Nirav. "Aisha is fine. She gets harder hit during battle," he replied to Nirav's concern. Not long after, Kirsi and Koru joined them. So they came. It showed that they at least cared enough meet up with them. Nirav's drifloon was cooing excitedly, much like how Aisha would be if she wasn't feeling down after being reprimanded. It won't last long, Cyril knew, she would be back to her cheerful self when they got to skating again. "I went to sightsee around the festival. There's a tournament today, though it wasn't open yet, earlier, so I ended up playing lottery. Maybe we can drop by to see if it's open yet after?" he answered and brought up the news about the tourney. "It sure is different. This is my first time skating in an artificial ice field," he echoed Kirsi's comment, looking around him, most people were skating, few were standing still like them. "We should skate while we talk," he urged as they were starting to bother the traffic. He let Aisha down unto the ice, then he grabbed Nirav's hand, "Here, I will help. Try to keep your balance and I will lead," he told him as he skated to the edge of the rink where they had long bar of unknown material that served as support for those who had hard time standing on ice.

Koru was grateful that Kirsi wasn't pushing out on her own onto the ice. She felt like she would crumble at any moment if it wasn't for her friend's grip. Attempting to be on her own she was now at Kirsi's side, but slipped and hugged against Kirsi and sighed annoyed,"I don't think I was made for this- Kir I owe you so many snacks after this..."she cautiously pushed herself up. She hugged the railing on the wall only for a moment as Kirsi suggested, but not really wanting to hang on and just stand there, she scooted away. For a single moment it felt like she was floating in the water rather than skating on top of it.
and somehow, well with Kirsi's help, they were with Nirav and Cyril, sorta. It looked like Cyril's pokemon had taken a bit of a crash and Nirav seemed to be talking a little louder than usual. She didn't change her volume, which was loud in it's own way really,"Heck yeah I got me a Froslass! Whatever it is it's pretty. We also got from figurines, we took a picture...oh!"she realized that she had put her pokegear back in her bag before putting the skates on,"Eh I'll show off the cuteness later." Koru started to notice something that Kirsi might have. Nirav appeared to just be keeping his balance while Cyril was cruising like it was no problem,"Looks like we're on the same level ey Nirav?"It made her feel a little better, but then the school's daycare manager skated by backwards, as if on cue,"See that. That. I can not do. But it looks really really cool!"
Cyril joined back up with them after helping his Sneasel. He helped Nirav and they all skated along with each other and chatted. Seemed they did some sightseeing before heading over to the rink, and like she suspected Cyril knew what Kirsi meant when she talked about skating on the ice back home. It never so cold the lake would freeze enough to safely skate. Perhaps she could convince her parents to go up to Mahogany Town, it was surely drop to the right temperature. Her ears twitched as Cyril mentioned a tournament. Koru swooshed to the side, almost bumping him off balance, and she looked at him with awe and stars in her golden eyes,"A tournament? Really oh my gosh it really is like last time! I gotta enter this one!"In a small way a part of herself wasn't quite over her loss in the previous tournament, but it did prompt her to train harder up to now. Now lay an opportunity to show what that training has done. She pumped her fists and moved her legs, unable to control her excitement,"Man a tournament for the holidays is perfect I'm totally gonna try and win this time! Are any of you guys entering? Don't worry I'll-!"In her frantic state she had increased her speed, skating away from her friends, and straight for a wall.
She swung her arms trying to keep her balance and tapped her feet to scoot to a stop but she had no idea how to stop the skates. It would look like her frantic movements were actually making her go faster,"Kiiiiiiiiirrrrrrr how do I stop!" Over at the bench Cyndaquil watched Koru;s behavior and began to fidget in Growlithe's fur,"Quil qui qui qi qi! (Oh no oh no oh no...)"She swing her hands out in front of her to try and stop once she made it to the wall. She slammed into the wall and she fell,"AH!" Koru groaned laying backside on the icy floor and staring at the ceiling. She looked upside down watching her friends and grinned goofy, more so embarrassed,"So about that tournament you mentioned..."

It seemed as though Kirsi and Koru had been doing something similar to what he had been doing: playing games, taking pictures, and enjoying the different weather around here. Koru couldn't skate either, which was a bit of a relief."Seems like it," he said to her with a smile... At least until the Daycare Manager strolled by backwards. "Wait, you can go backwards!?" That seemed absolutely insane! How did you know where you were going? Nirav could barely even go forwards! It seemed Mr. Miles had some skills!
Cyril had done similar to what Kirsi and Koru were doing, doing a lot of sightseeing and game playing. Kirsi mentioned how this was different from skating in a lake, which Cyril could testify to. "Wait, what's the difference?" he asked, curious."I thought this was real ice,"he admitted. Granted, Nirav hadn't seen a sheet of ice as big as the one he and the many other people were standing on. Weren't they all the same? Cyril was also determined to get out of the way of oncoming traffic, taking Nirav's hand and helping him keep his balance far more than Kumo had been doing. He was able to use the edge for support as he tried to get a handle on how to move. He slipped around, but at least he wasn't falling each and every time.
Cyril also mentioned a tournament that was going on. The idea of a tournament made Koru just light up. She got incredibly excited at the prospect. Nirav was as well. He had lost in the first round to Koru and had spent the rest of the tournament avoiding Holly or writing notes to Alana. Wow, did that feel like forever ago... As Koru got excited for the tournament, she ended up ramming herself into a wall! "Koru? You ok?" he asked, wanting to go over and help but knowing that would only end in him falling too, so he stuck with Cyril. Koru seemed to be ok, though, asking again about the tournament. Hopefully she didn't get too hurt... Either way, Nirav mentioned what he was going to say just before this crash. "If I remember correctly... The tournament is in teams of two. I plan on entering, though hopefully it'll go a little better than last time. Do you have someone to enter with, Koru? We can team up if you want." Nirav wasn't sure if she had plans with Kirsi or Cyril, but figured he would ask.

ooc: I figured I would go ahead and put the tournament entry in my post too!
When Cyril brought up there being a tournament later that day, Kirsi couldn't help but think back to the last one. Was he thinking about it too? About what he had said to her after the battle, when she was only trying to be nice? Did he remember and think her silly or naive? Kirsi couldn't tell, though she was starting to wonder if it was because Cyril was hard to read or he just genuinely didn't think that way. He had been friendly so far today, so Kirsi wanted to try and do the same. It was easy with Koru and even Nirav there, who seemed friendly. It made Kirsi happy to see he was still wearing her gloves.
"There are frosslass in Sinnoh," Kirsi said brightly. "I think...Cyril, you Aisha might evolve into one." She wasn't 100% sure, but she felt smart for knowing it. Kirsi laughed at Koru, glad that she and Nirav seemed to both be beginners so that Koru wouldn't feel left out. But as Hakeem skated by backwards, Kirsi thought about how she could totally skate that good. When she was older. "It's not so hard! He's just older, so he has more practice. Plus, I can skate backwards too," she said, smiling confidently at Nirav. She tried to think of how to describe the way this was different from skating on a lake. "Well yeah, they're both ice. But at home... well on a lake there's no sides, and you have to be careful since the ice gets thinner as you go out, and if you fall in it's really dangerous." Kirsi eyed Cyril, wondering what he would have to add in.
At first as they skated Kirsi tried to keep an eye on Koru, but the longer they skated the more she was distracted by the joy of it. She just loved the way it made her feel like she was flying, even when going slow. Next thing she knew, Koru was zipping out away from them, arms flailing. "You have to get both your feet and-" Kirsi caught off, not sure how to describe the maneuver without showing it. Had she grown up in normal skating rinks, she would have easily responded with "just hit the wall", which was what most beginners did. In fact, she almost wanted to say "just fall over". After all, most people fell a bunch while they were learning.
It didn't matter what Kirsi was going to say anyways, because Koru just drifted slowly (and it was slowly, compared to someone going really fast, though it was no doubt faster than their beginner's pace) towards the wall. Kirsi let out a great big laugh before she could stop it. Chance craned his neck away from the scene, but couldn't quite see Cyndaquil on his back. [ Don't worry, Kirsi's really good. See, she's not worried. ] Koru hit the wall with a thump and disappeared from view.
When Koru flopped on her back, Kirsi lost it. She doubled over with laughter, and ended up bumping softly against the wall and sliding down, her skates sliding out from under her. Chance suddenly raised his head. Where'd Kirsi go? He was careful to not move so Cyndaquil would be comfy, but his ears were craned forward. He relaxed when he realized he was hearing her laughter. [ They're okay. It's normal to fall a lot. ]
Back in the rink, Kirsi finally managed to stop laughing long enough to plant a hand on the ice and push up only to be hit by another fit of giggles at the memory of Koru's voice pitching wildly and that loud "thump". Kirsi's elbow went weak and she collapsed into Koru, laughing until there were tears in her eyes. It had been so long since...since she'd had fun like this on the ice. Part of her felt guilty, thinking of Rina, but another part felt hopeful, like maybe things would be okay. She felt sure in this moment that if she talked to Ray he would understand and say sorry and they would be friends again.
She took a deep breath, done laughing for good now. Still, the way Koru had immediately asked about the tournament kept a smile on her lips. Kirsi pushed herself to a crouch and then straightened her legs to stand. She held a hand out for Koru, holding the wall to steady herself.
"It's a double battle?" Kirsi had never done one of those before. Her immediate thought was that she would do it with Koru if at all, but Nirav asked first. Well, two fire types wasn't exactly the best strategy... Kirsi's eyes flicked to Cyril, wondering his thoughts. If Koru said yes to Nirav, would he have a partner? Fire and Ice, that could be a good combo. And Kirsi had admired his battling before, he would be a good teammate.
If you'd told her that morning she would be considering teaming up with Cyril Frisch for a double battle tournament, she never would have believed it.

Cyril listened to what they had been doing before and he found out they had all tried the lottery booth. Koru's mention of froslass caught his attention for he had tried to aim for it, but he isn't able to. It was probably for the best since they don't have weavile there. It would be unfair if he had one yet not of the other. "yes, with a dawn stone," he replied to Kirsi's statement. Aisha, his snorunt had perked up on hearing the word 'froslass' she had been quite determined in letting Cyril know of what she wanted. "I have been looking for one for a long time," he told them of his intention of evolving his snorunt. "Aisha is running on limited time since if we leave her be, she will end up evolving into glalie," that will be unfortunate and he wasn't sure how much he could train Aisha before he had to stop lest she evolved.
When the rest started talking about skating backward, Cyril too turned to see what they were looking at. That staff at daycare. "It is just a reverse of going forward. Trying to stop yourself while skating is actually harder," He didn't see a point of skating backward like that. You are more likely to bump into someone when you can't see where you are going. Kirsi tried to make it sound encouraging, but to him, she sounded like she was trying to encourage herself too. He wisely said nothing and let the subject die for a new one. Nirav was asking what's the different between ice rink and his comment about the ice being real was funny. "This ice rink is man-made. People construct it with intention to make ice rink, while the one in mine and Kirsi's happens naturally in lake and canals when they freeze thick enough in Winter to safely skate over it," he added what Kirsi missed to say. "This ice rink," he gestured around him, "is much safer. You don't have to worry about falling in through the ice or stumble over rough patch of ice."
While the other skated, Cyril was more focused on guiding Nirav near the edge. "Try to keep your feet from sliding too far from each other," Cyril showed Nirav how his feet should be positioned. He wasn't sure how to teach anyone how to skate since nobody taught him when he learned, so he decided to show him how. "Then when you want to skate, you slide your foot forward one at a time, quickly followed by the other and that's it," it was that simple, the rest would be practice to find out what works. He left Nirav to test out skating to continue their conversation by mentioning a tournament. " . . . I plan to?" He had backed away from Koru and almost stumbled unto the ice when Koru, intending to approach, bumped him instead. Thankfully, he had managed to catch his balance. The intensity of attention Koru gave him made him uncomfortable. She was speaking so fast Cyril missed some of what she said, wait, no that was Koru moving away so fast she ended up hitting the wall. Worry filled him, he was ashamed to admit he was staring instead of helping Koru up. The fact the Koru had gotten back up to resume the conversation without seemingly took notice she had fallen perplexed him. What is she made of off? he wondered, "Are you not hurt?"
Koru and Nirav had started bringing up ideas of partnering when Kirsi joined back with them. "yeah, it is. you need to register a partner or you can go for randomly assigned. I prefer to register a partner. Working with people I don't know with can be hard and it is basically down to luck whether it is someone that want to cooperate or not," he answered her. It was then his eyes met with hers and it hit him that if Koru and Nirav were partnering that left him with Kirsi. He didn't exactly have anyone else to ask. Kirsi was good, he won't say otherwise for she did beat him, better than Nirav probably in battle. There was merit in partnering with her if he could get over his feeling of guilt, but it was hard for him to bring it up he ended up staring. Oh, he didn't dislike her, it's just, he wasn't sure he can ask her to partner with him. After a moment that felt a long time, Cyril spoke to her, "Anyone in mind?" that would be a good place to at least find out what she was thinking.

It was no surprise that Koru's little collision with the wall caused her friends the worry about her, but they should be relieved that she doesn't mind running into things when she hears really good news- like the tournament! Wanting to know more she didn't mind that she fell flat on the ice, but it was pretty cold. Good thing her excitement was keeping her warm. Nirav seemed rather shocked, Cyril was some form of confused astonishment, but the one reaction she noticed was Kirsi when she slipped to the ice laughing til she couldn't breathe. She had slicked down next to her. The red head had tears in her eyes and after running into her again and continuing to laugh Koru began to laugh along with her, only now she decided to put Kir in a playful headlock,"Eh what'chu laughin' at eh Kir?"she spoke in what she liked to imagine was her tough guy voice, but the laughter was diluting her attempt. She let go of Kirsi so she could stand and took her hand to work on standing herself.
She almost lost her balance again when she heard more details of the tournament. Her legs swished around just trying to keep herself still, but her excitement wasn’t making it easy,”A tag tournament?! My dad did those all the time in his trainer days with my uncle they were amazing!"She recalls watching home movies of her father, Bryne, and her Uncle Hugo in tag team tournaments with their Magmars, though now her dad’s was a Magmortar. She used to watch those battles til she fell asleep at night and then beg him to put them in again the next day. "I wanna enter even more now! What’d ’ya say-?”
She was ready to ask Kirsi, there was no question she would want to partner with one of her best friends, but she was stopped by Nirav’s offer to partner with him. She blinked in remembrance of her victory against him in the last tournament. She smiled a beam of sunshine and nodded,"Sure Nirav! I mean if that’s okay with you?"she had a questionable feeling of if Kirsi wanted to ask her too. If they didn’t it would mean she could partner with someone else, like someone with them right now- with blue hair,"Hey I know! If me and Nirav partner up you and Cyril should! With Chance and your Sneasel you guys could do some wicked combinations!"
Cyndaquil was about to pass out from shock watching everything on Chance’s back. Not even his friends words comforted him, especially when Kirsi disappeared from their view as well, ”Qu qu qu da cyna! [Oh no oh no the ice ate them!]” He squirmed around as Chance tried to check the scene. He didn’t notice anything else after Koru’s fall, his panic distracting him.
