Since having cubs in the pride, Kuhasa had been in a much more pleasant mood than before. He was definitely more comfortable, perhaps owing to the fact that his stay here could not be so easily forgotten now. That conversation he had so early on with Safura stuck in his mind. More than that, though, cubs were a lot more fun than he expected. Likely because he didn't have to deal with much of the responsibility. Another thing he had been told to expect by Safura, actually.
Too bad for Maditah, he liked being as involved as he could without stomping all over the way things were supposed to be around here. She could expect to see him every couple days, at least, until there were more cubs (probably). It was probably better for his ego that he didn't dwell on the fact that there was only the one litter.
Looking very cheerful, Kuhasa was wandering through the busier part of the pride with no particular goal in mind for his afternoon.

Amakhaza had spotted a certain pale-coated figure as he was walking along and scowled. Without a word to her companion, the long suffering flightless vulture, Kazi, she stood up and set off at a fast stalk to intercept the Inselelo. The albino bird had been resting on a small rock. While unable to fly like a normal vulture thanks to a broken wing as a chick, he could hop and glide short distances, longer if he had some high from which to launch. Upon realising he was being left behind he jumped off his rock and with a few quick hops, launched himself into the air, twisted wings flapping until he landed on Amakhaza's rump. The lioness didn;t react past a low huff of air from the impact, Kazi was still a full-grown vulture after all, as she beelined to the male not far away.
"Kuhasa!" She called, loud and firm, her typically short temper very much in evidence in her voice and the frown on her features.

Amakhaza gave him a confused look. "Yes, right now.. why ever not?" She asked, before belatedly following his gaze to the bird perched on her rump. "Oh." She seemed to hesitate a moment then huffed an exasperated breath. "Kuhasa, this is Kazi. Kazi, the Inselelo Kuhasa." She introduced them swiftly then levelled Kuhasa with an expectant stare. "Better? Can we talk now?" She asked, clearly exasperated.
On her back, Kazi had been listening to his companion and the big lion speak, or rather, Amakhaza spoke and the lion listened. It still amazed him how tolerant everyone was of his companion's abrupt and usually unpleasant manners. Especially as they weren't witness to her less antagonistic moments. The lioness had issues and she had sat and explained them to him early into their relationship. As a flightless bird he had no real choice in the matter, especially if he wanted to remain in this land and have the protection of the pride. But he at least understood part of why Amakhaza was the way she was. Few others had that experience with which to view her actions and words in a slightly more flattering light.
Nevertheless, sometimes she still managed to surprise him with her antisocial and almost naive way. Hopping down from her rump he eyed the big male. "I'll be here when you are done." Amakhaza would have to stay with the male until they returned to him, she would simply freak out and have one of her attacks if she was left alone. That was actually why they had been paired up together, to give her some semblance of a relatively normal life.

Amakhaza seemed to freeze when Kazi hopped down, her head swiveling towards the bird where he stood with as much dignity as a grounded bird could manage. She went from confident and pushy to uncertain in an instant but after staring at each other for a moment, the lioness seemed to come back to herself, sucking in a sharp breath as she scowled at the vulture.
Turning her gaze back to Kuhasa she noded, then shook her head, moving to automatically follow him as he set off. She didn;t wait for them to get any kind of distance before she continued, though she stuck close against his shoulder as they walked. "We need to try again." She reitterated, her tail flicking against her rump and brushing against his hip as it moved. "I wasn't just being coy before, you know. We should have a litter of silver cubs." She thought back to Safura's glare when she had casually mentioned Kuhasa on one of her rare visits with the other females. The striped lioness had clearly been annoyed. Not that Amakhaza cared what Safura thought, but it had reminded her that she was not yet showing from their entanglement in the dustbath that had been the dry watering hole. And Amakhaza had been surprised by the pang the thought had given her. She, apparently, wanted to be a mother. News to her. But she was determined Kuhasa was the male to give her what she wanted. The litter of silver huntresses had stuck in her mind and refused to leave. Never mind that he was the only male she was comfortable around.
Ecavi Kuhasa and Kazi should sit down together some time for a chat. XD

The surprise that flashed across the lioness' features was obvious as she stopped once more to stare at him. Evidently she had expected a fight over this, or at the very least some kind of resistance. Why she had done so even she wasn't clear, maybe it was the fact that no-one just agreed with her, over anything, ever. But his easy acceptance and even eagerness threw her completely. Finally, she took a hesitant step forwards, still staring at hi as she resumed their slow walk.
"Really?" She asked, with uncharacteristic hope in her voice and the first hint of something other than her usual snark and sceptisisim. After a moment she seemed to adjust to this sudden shift and nodded in satisfaction. And while the expression she wore wasn't an acual smile, it was as close to one as could be desired. "Good." She looked back up at him, this time with a much more coy expression, her voice dropping to a husky, suggestive tone. "Are you free right now?"

She returned his grin, her pale eyes warming as she moved closer to him, this time the brush of her shoulder against his was deliberate, rather than necessary.
"Good." She purred softly under her breath as she let him lead her away, a spring in her step that hadn't been there earlier.
Back behind them, Kazi had been watching as the two large shapes slowly wandered away from him. He knew what was going on, he was lame, not stupid after all. And when he saw them grew closer together, no longer walking beside each other but practically melded together, he huffed a breath and turned his back. He hoped she would be in a better mood when she returned, and then maybe they could both eat, as he had been hungry all morning. Lifting his head he looked round for somewhere to wait, finally settling on squeezing himself into the space under a slanting rock where the sun wouldn't fry his albino behind. Yawning he settled down to wait, only occasionally opening one eye to make sure nothing was around that he needed to be concerned about.
