Artist preferences: Myself (full), Kana (lines)/myself(colors), Kana full, Kana (lines)/Jay (colors)

Name: Char
Stage: Prentice
Race: Hybrid (Fire/Water)
Gender: Female
3 Base Traits: Absent minded, bubbly, sincere
Personality: Char is a girly girl. She's a flighty type who sits and people watches instead of doing household chores, or just gets very distracted very easily. Combined with her bubbly approach, many people think she's a little slow. However, she's a very smart girl when she puts her focus to something...it just takes more than most to get her on a task and keep her there. Something she's very much interested in would make her focus. Just like crafting jewelry, someone pushing her to the point she feels she has to prove herself, like they were picking on her or something! She can spout off random facts about certain materials she's used and not think much of it. For all the frustration she can cause, Char's a very sincere girl. When she apologizes, she means it. When she compliments you, she's not just trying to be friendly. She says what she means and she means what she says. She absentmindedly offends people a lot, this way. She honestly doesn't mean to. She tends to automatically assume that person is right because she's grown up with people pointing out she's not saying nice things despite thinking they're not all that bad. She'll apologize right away because she will instantly feel bad. If someone doesn't like her, if Char likes them, she might keep trying to be that persons friend. If they just end up not liking her at all, she'll be heartbroken but she knows not everyone will appreciate the way she is. To the people watching, if they don't like it, she'll try not to watch that person.
Description: She has water ears, Oban skin colors with Matori markings, water hair in color and lives in Matori with her mom and dad. Reference. She'll eventually have really bright teal and green paint on her arms and legs. Various fire crystals will be in the appropriate places! Hair is probably going to change, but the color will stay the same. Small chested with gentle sloping hips. Her nose is small and round, her top lip is thin and bottom lip is full.
Clothing: She usually can be found in a two piece swim suit with a sheer 'skirt' around her hips.
Accessories: Beads in her hair, armbands, various small fetishes.
History: Char's mom and dad met while the Oban man was out exploring. Levi, her mother, is a healer, and her father Artima is a blade. They met while Artima was in the middle of a battle against a group of bandits hassling Levi, trying to steal her coin and whatever valuables she had. After the battle Levi patched them both up and they were instantly attracted to one another.

Years later, after the Oban war, Char was born to them. It was known since birth that she would be the joy of their lives, and watching her grow up, shaping her into the prentice she is today has brought them much joy. Char's childhood was full of happy memories and nothing too important to note. She's never really taken any slack about her being a hybrid seriously. Her parents do try to keep her sheltered to some of the insults thrown her way but when she was younger it used to bother her. There was a time she tried to paint her skin completely blue, including her crystals, to hide her Oban side and pass off as just a Matorian. Even now, though she does brush them off, it hurts her a bit. In her opinion, there's nothing wrong with it. Her mom and dad are happy together, so she's happy with them.

She does, however, seem to have an attraction to creating beads and jewelry that her parents don't really understand but are willing to support her in her endeavors anyway. Her mom would keep her entertained by having her make things, sometimes things with clay, sometimes paints, but she took to beads the best.

Her relationship with her parents is pretty rock solid and stable. Her dad gets frustrated with her more than her mom. She forgets to do her chores, she forgets to put up supper. She does tend to get grounded a lot for forgetting by her dad, like it'll help. Her mother's a bit more understanding and patient and tries to continuously help her remember things. Nudges her when her chores need to be done, tries to reach agreements like: If you do the dishes now, I'll get you some new beads.

Hey Fee <3

A few questions to start out with:

Personality:
|| With her absent minded trait, you also say she can be very smart "when she puts her focus to something"...what would it take for her to actually do that?

|| If she says what she means and means what she says, have there been times where she's said something that offends people? You said she's flighty but to what extent? If she says something that does offend someone and the other calls them out on it, will Char apologize even though she believes what she said?

|| How does she handle people that don't like her or things that she says or people that might not appreciate being watched?

Just a general history thing could you flesh it out just a tad more? I think my questions will help with that <3

History:
|| I'm assuming she was born after the Oban war was over?

|| Would there be anything someone could say about her heritage that would cause her not to just brush it off?

|| Is there any particular thing that led her to enjoy creating beads and jewelry? Did she see someone do it and think "oh that's neat I want to do that" or something else? Will this be the path she follows or just a hobby?

|| What is her relationship with her parents? When they get frustrated with her absent-mindedness and not doing chores, do they do anything about it?

|| A side thing, what were the bandits harassing Levi about?

|| Also...where do they live?

I think that's all for now. <3 Can't wait to see what becomes of this cutie. ^.^

1. Something she's very much interested in, like crafting jewelry, someone pushing her to the point she feels she has to prove herself, like they were picking on her or something! She can spout off random facts about certain materials she's used and not think much of it.

2. Oh yes, she absentmindedly offends people a lot, I imagine. She honestly doesn't mean to. She tends to automatically assume that person is right because she's grown up with people pointing out she's not saying nice things despite thinking they're not all that bad. She'll apologize right away because she will instantly feel bad.

3. If someone doesn't like her, if Char likes them, she might keep trying to be that persons friend. If they just end up not liking her at all, she'll be heartbroken but she knows not everyone will appreciate the way she is. To the people watching, if they don't like it, she'll try not to watch that person. So far no serious arguments or anything have happened.

PERSONALITY TIME
1. She was born after the war!

2. There probably is.

3. For her prentice stages it is just a hobby she picked up from being given beads to play with. Her mom would keep her entertained by having her make things, sometimes things with clay, sometimes paints, but she took to beads the best. I do want it to be her path, however.

5. The bandits were hassling Levi because they thought she looked weak and were trying to steal her money, actually.

6. They live in the settlement in Matori that is close to the borders of Oba.

What are the parents like to have become immediately attracted to each other? They met before the war, so the Oban/Matori dynamic was not only taboo but ingrained in them for hundreds of years that Obans were superior. So how did they come to get past that?

Was the mother ever a slave? If she wasn't how did she avoid becoming one?

Did they meet in Oba, or in Matori? How did this come to be that they were both there? (If they met in Oba but the mother wasn't a slave why was she there? If they met in Matori why was the father there since it was pre-war?) Traveling between the two places prior to the Oban war was reserved for the slave trade, so only slaves or traders would be going between the two places, so something like this needs more detail to make sense.

At first it was looks that attracted her to him. Then it was how he was helping her. They met in Matori and she avoided becoming a slave by being cautious and managing to narrowly slip away when Obans came for more slaves. She never tried to fight them because she knew she'd be out matched. So she ran. Or threw sand or dirt in their eyes and then ran.

Artima was in Oba, under the guise of a slave trader but he never went through with it. He slipped away during the night, one night, while the others were attacking a village for slaves. He is one of the few who thought it was wrong to take Matori as slaves. He had them growing up, and his parents didn't treat them well, but he considered his old maid a friend. She would tell him stories and just talk to him, perhaps to try to influence at least one Oban to be softer. However he could do little to stop his fellow Obans. So for a long time he just traveled between villages, helping Matori slip away if one of his brethren came for them.

Does this sound good enough?

What I meant by "What are the parents like to have become immediately attracted to each other?" is how were they able to suddenly overcome the dynamic that was 'Obans vs Matori slaves' back then? Even if he thought slavery was wrong, how did she come to trust him enough to make at the very least a friendship? If she ran from Oban traders why would she trust him or instantly be attracted to him, especially when he was pretending to be a trader? I just feel like there needs to be a little more detail and a little more cohesiveness to the story for them.

Who were the bandits that were attacking her? What was the situation that led up to that?
