The dark lioness stepped out in to the sunlight. The bright rays that cascaded down on to the perfect white sands lit up her sea coloured markings. She had not been out much in the past couple of weeks, the cubs had kept her inside her den, today though she had decided it was time for them to see the sand for the first time. It was a calm day, the wind was gentle and warm and the sea was quiet, it was perfect, a perfect day to let her children see the world they lived in.
Looking back in to the darkness she took a breath and smiled "Come on children. Its time you see the sea."

Kelpie peered around her mothers back paws, she was keen to see the world excited to leap on to the sands but her mother had said to wait, to be patient, but when she spoke to them she leapt excitedly in to the sunlight. For a moment she was blind, her young, barely open eyes dazzled by the glistening sun. She blinked owlishly, her light purple eyes taking their first view of the world she would come to know as home. "Wow." She breathed looking up at her mother. "Its beautiful mummy." She purred padding over to her mother to sit on one of her fore paws.

The youngest cub of the litter peered out of the den and slipped back in, he would wait until everyone else was out before extracting himself from the safe darkness. Maybe he would wait for daddy to go out too, it seemed like a really big place beyond the den he knew so well. Shrinking back in to the shadows he tumbled to the back of the line, he was happy to wait.
((Family rp but if anyone wants to join in and play with the new cubs please feel free to!))

Liviyathan looked down at the dark cub on her paw, in the sunlight she could truly see their colours, her cubs really were very striking. She nuzzles the dark female off of her toes and takes a few steps towards Aspidochelone. Why had she given some of her children such long names? It made her chuckle inwardly but their names all suited them she felt. Licking the sea marked cub between her ears she settled down on to the sand relaxing in the sun for the first time in what seemed like forever. "Come on children." She called again looking back at the den where the others were standing perhaps waiting for further encouragement from her.
Kelpie followed after her mother and bounced on her sibling with a giggle. "Aspi we can run around out here without hitting the walls!" She grins, the new found freedom felt very liberating and all she wanted to do was dive around and play in the sand. For a moment she stood still, admiring the place they lived with watery eyes, her toes massaging the sand. It was beautiful out here "I'm never going back in!" She declared taking off to run around her mother using her as a sort of race course, kicking up sand as she went.
Lusca felt his sister push past him and he nodded nervously. His sisters seemed to be having fun out there, especially Kelpie, she seemed to be raiding around, and around and around.. Ugh, he felt dizzy just watching her. He settled back against the walls of the den. He could wait here no problem. Maybe he just wouldn't go out today. Maybe it would be okay if he stayed in.

Liviyathan lifted her head, she spent a moment watching Kelpie run around her, causing a little divot in the sand. "Slow down Kelpie." She shakes her head she looks across at Aspi and frowns "Come back here young lady." She clicks her tongue. "I don't want you going too far, stay where I can see you."
Allowing her gaze to fall on the other two children whom had dared venture out of the den she gave a purr and smiled. "One paw at a time Tiamat." She chuckles, the little fire bellied cub was so clumsy. The dark lioness lifts a paw and points. "You see that big thing over there, that's the sea, and yes, it goes on forever." She smiles at Litanu at least one of her boys had decided to come forth from the darkness, now where were the last three and her rainbow maned mate?
Kelpie stopped her race around her mother JUST as she lifted a paw to point at the sea. She had forgotten that they were out for the first time to see the sea. Their mother had said not to run off and not to go near it, not until they were much, much older. The sea was beautiful, but very dangerous. Using her mothers paw as a step she peered out down the beach "Its kinda blue like you mama."
Lusca edged towards the mouth of the den once more, his siblings seemed to be having a lot of fun, the sand seemed so very soft and shifting and it was so bright out there. He was starting to feel curious despite his nervous-ness of facing the world beyond all he knew. Maybe just a few more minutes and he might venture forth, maybe.

"Sorry, Aspi!" Tiamat squeaked, "legs are difficult," she insisted with childlike seriousness. Little legs, it seemed, needed more practise than long legs! Still, she'd not be so easily put off. With a purr of delight she moved up alongside her mother and rubbed against the side of a hind leg, beaming up at her proudly.
"One paw at a time!" she mimicked, testing each word in her mouth to try and say it clear and correct. She was nothing if not a fast learner.
Then, following the direction her mother pointed, she squinted out at the sea; wrinkling her nose in an attempt to make better of the view. Hm. It was so far away. She could smell it but from here it didn't look that big.
"Forever?" she echoed in disbelief, "but it seems so small!"
The concept of 'far away' had still not instilled itself.
