It's that time again! Time for a delicious contest to get your claws on a lovely little SoA of your own! This time we have 3 lovelies ready for you -- all looking for good(?) homes!

RULES

• These SoA cannot leave the Aegnor'hini under any circumstances - they were customed for the pride after all!
  
• Be polite and encouraging. There's no reason to be an asstwat to anybody. Everyone has a fair chance -- but if you're a jerk, your odds will PLUMMET.
  
• We reserve the right to ix-ay offensive demon names. - that means keep it where it's not going to offend half the room.
  
• Fictional villians as demon names is fine within reason! For example Ghaleon from Lunar isn't the best idea, however Kefka is fine (But we might cry).
  
• As a reminder, a demon may have 2 demons, and will have hyphens in their names. For example Diabolos-Ferdiad, or Julius-Augustus, ETC.
  
• This is fairly spread out across ranges - everyone can play, except the pride leader owners. Or pride owners.
  
• Have fun, try new things, don't be afraid to experiment - we LOVE seeing unique things. Not all demons are evil, after all.

Demon names are hard, and we totally get that, so this contest is something with a twist! For this SoA, you must choose one or two demon names from the provided list. Each demon has a sentend or two to give an idea of the thoughts behind the name -- and build from there to answer the prompt and fill in the form. Everything is vague so you may skew things however you wish, but all demon names MUST come from the list provided.

Catastrophe is driving the former Dvergr to the demons, or the wild, to escape death and sorrow. In one such incident recently after pleading by Thorin to Ri for aid, this cub was found to be orphaned in the Dvergr and joined with his pride. He has no family, and no one to raise him but the pride at large.He will be raised as a Jotunn, so any rank he takes as an adult will be prefaced with 'Jotunn' (For example, Jotunn-Far.) He may or may not have a demon, but he is not a sador - though a demon is recommended, as this is a naming and brief prompt contest!

Tenebris gets along quite well with her demons. There may be some underlying psyche going on that the demons exploit, but she doesn't mind. When in some manner separate from her demons, Tenebris doesn't act any different. She enjoys the aspects of her silent job, giving her demons strength when she kills. When trouble comes up, though, either Nazgul or Legion will take control to protect Tenebris. Others will be able to tell in how they speak. Tenebris speaks in a common manner, while Nazgul speaks in possesive and first-person terms("You have made Nazgul mad!") and Legion speaks in a 'we' manner.

Name Meaning: Shining, light-maker (Hinduism)
Demon Name: Belfagor
Meaning or Source: See: Balfagor acrcidiavolo by Machiavelli
Desired Rank: Badhron (if possible, and if not, Kiirar)
Personality: A very mellow, rarely incited lion, Bhaskara sees himself as a very intelligent individual. At one point he was of the rank Ran'ar'ma, but was met with... very unpleasant experiences while away from the pride. Starvation and storms seemed to follow him where he walked, until he was driven back to the pride, in search of a new rank. Thankfully it was granted and he never again intends to leave the boundaries of the pride. (A lioness may or may not have attributed to these woes while away!)

Anything else about him we should know?: He disdains monogamy ( "the institution of marriage" wink ) and he has a preference for the night and the starry sky, feeling his demon and he are closest during that time.

Meaning, if any: "Trouble" (Hebrew)
Does he have a demon? if so, what is their name?: Bagul (originated from the film series "Sinister" who is described as being the 'child eater')
Desired adult rank?: Jotunn-Tir'hini
How does he feel about growing up in the pride?: Knowing nothing else in the world, Achen appreciates the life he has been given. How else would he strive to find his inner demon? Without being found by the pride, he would have wandered the world (if not have died) without ever truly knowing what existed inside of him. A cub, Achen is an oddly quiet child. He does not draw attention to himself, which allows him the opportunity to exist without being seen⏤watching others silently. As an adult, not much changes other than his watchful eye turns to the cubs of the pride. His demon's, Bagul's, intent in choosing Achen is to rear the children of the pride to their greatest potential, protecting them all the while. Little demons, you could say. This is not out of affection for cubs but for growing the strongest, most effectual army.
Anything else about him we should know?: Bagul, his demon, is modeled after the "eater of children." This is an evil character, but because the cubs belong to the pride, they are safe from harm and instead, Achen takes a special role in serving his demon in watching over them. What would happen if he wandered across an outsider cub? I dare to imagine.

Meaning: Dovecote, a roost for domestic doves.

It was as a young cub that Kizimbi first heard the voice that was her-but-other, urging her to leave her mother and siblings. At first she did not understand: Why would she ever want to go? Her mother loved her, her siblings loved her, her pride loved her. Life was good, and because of that she should have wanted for nothing.

Chase the storm. We do not belong here.

But the voice was right, and it was shortly after reaching adolescence that she realized how things really were. Her siblings loved her, sure, but her mother and the pride did not. Not really. A pride of monastic pacifists, they knew she was not like them. Kizimbi was chaotic and prone to mischief, stealing pretty baubles and pridal relics to hide for a laugh and encouraging her peers to bend the rules themselves. Stern words did nothing to sway her into quitting, and things only escalated when she was allowed to learn to hunt. When the pride’s adults saw how she delighted in the chase and was proud of her kills, she was sanctioned and isolated in hopes of saving her.

Doves who trifle with an eagle! Let me out. Do not let them clip your wings!

That had been the first inkling she had that her strange thoughts were not entirely her own; and though she turned down the request to be 'let out', the idea of not being alone brought comfort instead of fear. The voice had been right from the very beginning, after all, and a much better companion than anyone of her pride. They did not judge her for her love of the hunt and they were proud of her thieving pranks, of the artful balance she kept as she walked the line between order and chaos. They knew that it was the game that made life worth living. No one in the pride played the game, they couldn’t even see that it was there! Their eyes were only for their deities and their karma, so blinded by piousness they couldn’t see that they were all just so much dust in the wind.

While the pride tried to make her world even smaller than it already was, the voice continued to urge her to leave. The voice did not care that she had refused its own freedom: It was her body, and free will was the one thing the voice would never dream of stealing.

Wait for the next storm, and then fly from this place. The doves will shy away from the howling of the wind and the roar of the thunder, and we will be free of them.

A few days later came her chance, and yet again the voice was right: They would not brave the storm, even as she roared her intent for all to hear and dared them to stop her. The last face from that pride she ever saw was her mother’s, the old lioness’s eyes mournful as she watched her daughter disappear into the rain from the mouth of their home cave. There was a twinge of regret as Kizimbi realized that she would never see her birth family again, that she had left without saying farewell to her siblings, and yet... They'd grown up, allowed themselves to become indoctrinated despite her warnings. Husks of who they'd been when they were little, tearing out the root of chaos in their hearts without realizing it was the spark of life. No, they were not her siblings. Not anymore. She'd missed her chance to say goodbye a long time ago, but at least she had managed to escape before the pride smothered her own spark.

As she ran through the rain and into the unknown, she let the wind decide her path as lightening cracked and thunder boomed around her. Kizimbi didn't know where she would go now that she was free of her pride, nor did she care. She was free to run and roam wherever she pleased, to hunt and trick and live and die on her own terms. Perhaps she would find a pride who wasn't full of idiots, after she got her fill of unbridled freedom. Glee bubbled in her chest as she crossed the border of the pride she'd been born to, and she knew the one who had led her here was just as pleased.

SoA Name: Dal-Enkidu
Name Meaning: "From Enkidu". Enkidu is a beastial figure from the Mesopotamian Epic of Gilgamesh.
Demon Name: Camazotz-Zipacna
Meaning or Source: Camazotz is the Mayan bat god of the night, violence, death and sacrifice. He is characterized as meditative and patient, but bloodthirsty, and makes up these same aspects of Enkidu. Zipacna is a lesser demon in the same mythology, often said to be the creator of mountains, who is arrogant, prideful, strong and full of spite.
Desired Rank: Dina'gurtha
Personality: As a cub, Enkidu and his mother dwelt in mountain caves for safety from the world outside. They didn't have much choice in the matter: the lioness' seer abilities left her insensible during her visions. During these daily periods of unconsciousness, her cub was easy prey. As a result, Enkidu learned to love the caves. The darkness kept him safe, and so he learned to love the night for much the same reason. The bats that nestled in the caverns beside them were not only his earliest kills, but his teachers; though they were fruit-eaters by and large, he would often follow their clouds to their feeding grounds and scavenge the birds and small game upset by their swarming. Under their shadow he learned to kill unseen in a manner he would later claim was only the beginning of Camazotz's influence. On the other hand, the insistence that he use these new skills to bring back larger and more dangerous game in inventive new ways was surely Zipacna's.

With age, the voices of his demons grew more insistent, perhaps too much so. Since finding his way to the Aegnor'hini, Enkidu has grown more comfortable than ever before letting his demons' will intermingle with his own. He prefers the darkness of the night so strongly that he can rarely be found out during the day, preferring to curl up, take shelter and sleep as soon as the sun peeks over the horizon. He's more than willing to be woken by pridemates, as Enkidu enjoys the conversation, stories, and company of like-minded lions. He can actually be a deceptively gentle giant during these down-times, displaying an enduring patience with his brethren. So long as they're willing to mellow out in the shade for his companionship, he'll wile away the sunlit hours with talk, jokes, erstwhile debate, and even the occasional cuddle.

That's while the sun shines. At dusk, Enkidu comes alive. He's active to the point of restlessness come nightfall and more than happy to go about his duties as silent killer, a role he's unintentionally prepared for all his life. Zicpacna's voice grants him a zeal for his work rivaling that of the nwalm, as well as a penchant for toying with his kills and disposing of enemies of the pride in ever more challenging and entertaining ways. Even when he's not out assassinating, Enkidu aims to stretch his legs each night and treats every encounter with the same dreadful eagerness. It's almost mandatory for the big male to have a little bit of fun each night. Should the sun rise and Enkidu find his urge for mayhem unsated, he becomes torn between settling down peacefully in the sunlight and venting his unspent energy, ruining the coexistence between his demons and making him quite wroth to deal with until he has the chance to vent.

Anything else about him we should know?: Dal is also the Arabic number for four, so I think that number is also going to play some part in his plots. Four breedings? Four mates? Four significant deaths? Not yet sure, but it sounds like a fun idea to play with.

Name Meaning: Arabic name meaning "meteor; shooting star"
Demon Name: Kokabiel
Meaning or Source: Kokabiel is considered the 'angel of the stars', is a fallen angel, the fourth mentioned of the 20 Watcher leaders of the 200 fallen angels in the Book of Enoch. His name is generally translated as "star of God" which is fitting since it has been said that Kokabiel taught astrology to his associates
Desired Rank: Seasa
Personality: Shihab fancies himself a star under Kokabiel fallen to earth that the fallen did not forsake. He speaks often to his brothers and sisters (the stars) to gain wisdom and insight for things that may yet come to be, like a false seer. (Or true seer if he rolls well) He only fights if the stars tell him blood is needed and mates when they fall into alignment. Normally scarce during the day and stalking during the night, this eccentric lion is quiet almost to the point of being judgmental. But where does a fallen star have room to judge? He feels he is pushed towards finding the other watcher demons, but that is more Kokabiel than Shihab himself. Shihab is content with mapping the moon and finding the constellations than the other watchers.
Is he old blood from the Aikanaro come home or new blood?: New. The stars lead him to the pride (He walked in looking upwards) and Kokabiel saved him from a similar judgement that the Watcher faced long ago.
