Though their opinions were oft divided, in this moment the three faces of the Combee would give a unified cry of ">OW!<" A single hit it may have been, but with it pain now wracked their bodies. Pain enough that the third face would open it's eyes.....and the other two would fall silent.
Suddenly the Pokemon's buzzing became perfect, both wings moving as mirror images as was proper. Three pairs of eyes shifted to look upon the Mimikyu. An odd hum rose in the air, as all three mouths moved and spoke in perfect synchronization ">Though it is regrettable, we must ask you to perish in the name of the Queen<" The voices were almost unnerving in their complete unity.
Wings would begin buzzing then, the air stirring as the Pokemon kicked up a mighty Gust intended to send their foe spiraling away.
Onyxia's stomach settles as the head ache rolled in. After forcing Arla into her ball she watched as Ordo clicked the ending, no to the path. "Cone on Ordo we'll go a different path." With an exhausted sigh onward they went. Making there way around to avoid the Scraggy. "Okay... less conflict the better." She was beyond ready to go home. And she could tell Ordo knew it.
Numel ...Numel everywhere, and not a drop to drink.
That was Tiye's thought as she watched the movement of colored humps and almost lost the sight of the special one that had brought her here. The girl would push her hands against the side of her dress and would try to figure out how best to approach this.
Curie though took one look and instantly would reach out with her fangs to grab the hemp of Tiye's dress.
Though the princess girl couldn't understand, the Rockruff could.
Something big was going to happen here, and if they got involved it wouldn't end well.
"Curie. Curie stop that ...right now."
Tiye would yell at the pokemon as she tries to pull her away.
"This is a royal succession, a battle for the next ruler. I know what is going on here, and I am not in any danger."
She would shout at the pokemon, but Curie would simply roll her eyes and continue to pull until Tiye would recall her back into her poke ball. The pokemon would get her first rude awaken as a newly caught pokemon.
Curie couldn't do anything against Tiye's wishes for very long.
The girl would release her almost as soon as she had dust the dirt from her dress. Startled, Curie would look around quite shocked. Her tail would drop to the floor as she slowly realized what had happen.
Earlier she had been facing the girl, now she was facing away from her.
"Ruff?"
A single lonely bark.
"If you continue to misbehave, I will place you back in that poke ball, and you will stay there until we get back home."
Home?
Curie slowly turned around with her ears flat against her skull.
Home?????
The Rockruff had been so sure that once the girl was out of her territory she would be free and her problems would be over. Yet, that didn't seem like the case, in fact, this seemed more permanent ...as if, this was her new life. The realization of that quieted Curie completely as she sunk to her belly and watched as Tiye took that as a sign of submission and went back to observing.
Four future rulers ...one female.
She wasn't exactly shock at this, but, what to do ...what to choose. The girl would look at the Numel she had followed ...she would more than likely stand behind that one, because, after all...that was how she got here.
It was a good thing, it wasn't the mad Numel.
The girl would then walk over to the fourth participant and would actually sit neat to her. It wasn't that it was a lot or even declaring her alliance with that pokemon. Just that she was trying to see what needed to be done, and how she could help.
Something that she couldn't do as long as she stood on the sidelines.
Tiye had made her decision as slinking a bit, Curie would follow.
Onyxia kept going, walking through the area. She was ready to go home, even Ordo could tell that much. "Come on Bud... we need to get closer to the end." Of course it was a figurative end, but she still was ready to be done with this all. "We get home, I nurse this head ache, we take you to the center, and then we get an earful for not listening." She chuckled and kept walking.

Instead of striking Isolde, all the roggenrola hit was a section of the sandshrew's snow burrow. A sight that the sandshrew was glad to see as she poked her head back out of the snow, some distance now between her and the rock type. >>Heehee~ You're not going to hit anyone over there~<< the snow white sandshrew giggled as long icicles covered her dainty claws again. She gave another pair of swipes to send the shards of ice towards her tottering opponent. With any luck, it would be the blow to end the battle. Isolde wasn't sure she could take much more fighting if her attack missed.

For her trouble, the young trainer would encounter a dark blue Oddish. Upon spotting the girl however, the Pokemon would yelp in surprise, attempting to cower behind it's own leaves before turning to run. ">Oh ho no! I ain't crossin' no human! I know what you do! You and your....ODD-DISHES!<" It cried before scampering away down an alley.
(Time to explain how this little game is going to work. I am going to roll 4 dice, one for each Numel. The roll will determine if whatever they're doing suceeds. For Brevity's sake this whole thing won't last more than 5 "turns".)
(Now here's your part in it. You or your Pokemon can interfere in the actions of any 1 Numel per turn. That means you can either try to help the Shiny Numel succeed, or try to impede her competitors. Whatever you do, you'll need to roll 1 D20 to determine your success. Do the wrong thing or roll the wrong way and you may end up helping the competition rather than hurting them. )
(Occasionally you'd be given cryptic one word choices.)
Somewhere amidst the Numel, one of the four challengers was deeply offended by Tiye...or would have been could they have read her mind. She assumed they were male, despite all evidence to the country. There were two males and two females in this competition, clear as day to all but perhaps one confused human child, and the fight for the crown was sure to be a fierce one.
As the battle began, three rockruff would appear at the side of the Camerupt King, each wearing a studded bronze collar. The King's Guard it would seem, there to maintain 'order' in the King's name.
The 'Kingslater' Numel would act first, heading to a strange pile of rocks by the shore of the oasis. Stacked in such a way as to form a shape almost similar to a hut, the Numel would delve within and begin digging. He seemed to be searching for something...or perhaps merely seeing what fate might bring?
Following would be the Prestigious Numel. Unlike his fellow, digging in the dirt, this one would dig in among the people. Hump swaying as he walked, the Ground-type would shove himself among a circle of other Numel. Was he gathering information, swaying opinions, or simply trying to impress?
The dark female would interestingly, would aim for her fellow competitor. She all but charged at the male, a hint of malice in her maddened stare as she thought himself. Apparently the Kingslayer wasn't the only one with an aggressive plan.
The Shiny Blue, the one Tiye had chosen to follow, would move with a serene purpose. Like the Kingslater she sought out a stone 'hut', this one at the foot of a tree, and began to dig....
Onyxia let out a slight as the Oddish ran off, relief or just tired she was thankful it wasn't going to jump at her. Ordo looked to the Oddish with the same look. Ordo asked as he looked towards the Oddish. Onyxia scratched her head and looked around. "Where do we go from here?"
The girl had absolutely not idea what was going on, at least, in term of speech ...but action ...action she could understand. They must be looking to find something, something to prove their worth as the next successor.
Her eyes would watch as it would seem that each group was making their own decision on how to go about it. Three chose to find the treasure themselves, and one decided it was better to attack and take it from one of the males.
It's was an interesting strategy, and Tiye knew she should simply stay out of it for the moment, because it seemed that the one she was backing was being quite successful.
Though Tiye had a small fear.
Tiye was a princess, she understood a very vital rule ...that one of the Numel seemed to understand as well.
The power of a ruler lay in those they rule ...the second male seemed to understand this and was digging amongst his own people. What he was digging for? That was a good question, but as the aggressive female seemed to be moving into attack ...Tiye chose to keep her distance.
She will simply watch the Numel back, and see how it play out.
"Curie, keep your ears open. Dogs have good senses of smell and hearing, so I need you to focus on what they might be saying ...alert me to any problems. We want our faction to win."
She told the rock dog as Curie growled at her lowly. Her ears down, as she felt more like moping than snooping, but considering the fact that if she did nothing ..more than likely she would dragged into a battle what other choice did she have. Thus, she would perk up a bit and try to focus.
At the moment, a battle was the last thing that Curie wanted.
The Oddish was already gone before the Litleo would even get out half a sentence, but looking around would reveal something to Onyxia. Something rather unfortunate for a lost little girl.
She'd come to a junction in the roads and walkways between shops, and in that instance the ground in each of these lanes began to sink to the bottom, sand and flagstone sinking into pits. In the center of each one a Diglett would appear; it would seem they were making use of an ability common among their species.
It was about then the girl would see it. It had looked like a statue at first, a piece of modern art to be ignored; but in fact, Onyxia found herself standing before the World's Largest Aspear Berry! Perfectly preserved in honey, there was no telling if this had been done before or after the 'incident' because...
">HIIIIIIIII!<" A cheerful choice cried. ">WELCOOOOOOME!!!<" Another high pitched voice chimed in. Seemingly out of nowhere, a pair of large ears would swing into the air, Spinda appearing from the aether to boounce there way up to Onyxia. Sparkling not from anything unusual about their colour, but the half pound of body decorating their fur, and wearing matching skirts and tops. They looked a bit like cheerleaders for some reason.
">Welcome welcome welcome!<" The first Spinda cheered. ">Welcome to the site of the World's Largest Aspear Berry!<" The second introduced with a wave of her arm. ">Created in XXXX! This Berry was painstakingly grown and harvested in the local Gardens!<" The was the first one again. ">Coated with all natural, locally collected honey to preserve it!<" That was the second one....probably. ">Folks come from miles around to witness it's splender! But don't lick it!<" Their voices were definitely starting to blend together now.
Suddenly the Spinda would rush off to the stands surrounding the square, running back with arms full of treats, knickknacks, and sundries. Noteably all had pricetags that were almost painful. ">You should purchase one of our famous Aspear Berry Tarts or Pies!<" One of the Spinda proclaimed, swinging a plastic wrapped target around excitedly. ">And for the friends at home you should by this T-shirt! Or if you have many friends we have this commemorative Keychains!<" The other one, distinguishable only by the fact they were holding these things, declared as she wiggled her arms.
Both Spinda would bounce, wobble, and dance as they tried to tempt Onyxia into buying one item or another. If the child hadn't figured it out now, she would be. This.....was a Tourist Trap.
She lacked money, or an escape route, but given their pushiness these Spinda weren't likely to accept a simple 'no' either. Onyxia was going to have to tread carefully.
Tiye's actions....or lack there of.....would some to no avail. She hadn't done anything, and so she could have no effect on anything. Only direct action would effect this match....though one supposed there was merrit in the waiting game.
A scream of anguish and a curse would come from the Kingslayer, though not for the reasons one would expect. He came out with neither injury nor status effect. In fact there wasn't a single drop of physical harm to be seen. What there WAS to be seen however was a furless meowth clinging to the Numel's side, one arm round his neck as the feline pulled him this way and that. It would seem the Kingslayer had picked up a "companion" of sorts, and an unwanted one at that.
The Prestigious Numel would fidget slightly as he looked around himself. Somehow he seemed stronger, the other Numel looking at him with glinting eyes....but unlike them he'd noticed something amiss. He'd been carrying something till now which was missing. It would seem he hadn't entirely succeeded at his aim....and it had cost him.
Moments later the rot minded female would crash into the Prestigious Numel. The scrap was short but fierce, both putting forth defense and offense in turn as if by the roll of fate's dice. Yet in the end the Prestigious Numel would succeed, handily vanquishing his foe to the cheer of the nearby crowd. Rather than taking down a competitor it would seem the female had merely increased the Prestigious Numel's fame by losing!
The Blue Numel would have the greatest luck. Returning from the burrow she now carried a shining stone upon her back. Though it looked much like a Dawn Stone, this item shone with an intense and brilliant white light. Whistling happily, she seemed quite pleased with the find!
It happened all at once. Darkness swept across the land, like a sudden unnatural nightfall. The Camerupt would give a heavy, groaning roar as the darkness upon his body writhed and grew. The corruption was taking him further. The King's Guard held their ground, but something else would descend. Digging out from the burrows, three Murkrow would appear....yet even a fool could see there was something wrong with these creatures. Eyes glowing white, their bodies wreathing with shadow more intense than the King's, these were rotten harbingers of corruption. Banes upon this land.
Though the Meowth would pull him in the wrong direction once or twice, the Kingslayer would wade into a group of his fellows. Rather than chatting however he seemed to be looking for something....or someone.
The Prestigious Numel would shoot straight for the nearest Bane, a determined look in his eye different from his usual charm. A hero riding to the rescue, or perhaps a candidate for kingship simply looking to boost his appeal to the masses.
Interestingly, the rotten Numel would also race towards a Bane. Though post her defeat she'd been dragged some distance away be the other Numel, she'd had the 'fortune' to appear near another one of the creatures. Given the wild look in her eye however, she had a much DIFFERENT plan.
Though the plight of her fellows and this land pained her, the Blue Numel would ignore the appearance of the Bane's and the actions of her fellows. Instead she'd charge towards a circle of rocks in the grass. Another one of those unusual stones had appeared in it's center as if by magic, and she had every intent to collect it.
Onyxia loozed at the Spinda who danced around. Holding up different products and such. "Ahhh...." She sighed and knelt down next to Ordo. "Okay Bud, listen up..." Going to a whisper into her partners ear. Ordo nodded, partly liking the plan himself. Stepping forward the Litleo smiled. < We don't have money. But we will exchange our honey for ONE keychain and help off the island. We'll even recommend you guys to all our friends too! Surely too lovely Spinda's like yourselves can aid two tired Travelers? > Onyxia squatted down and pulled out the jar to show them. Still not open, and still sealed. < Do we have deal? I mean otherwise I think the group further down was offering better deals. > If these Spinda were desperate salespeople, they would jump on the opportunity.

As the Litleo spoke, the Spinda would shift. One leaned to the right and stood on the tops of her toes, the other leaning left and squatting down slightly; it was if they were physically demonstrating that the girl's request wasn't of equal value to her offer....but together, their ears would twitch at the mention of more customers and the threat of better deals. Those blasted Sentret and their giant Destiny Knot! FAH!
Looking at each other sidelong, the Spinda's ears would twitch again. 'Jump' was apparently the operative word.
One Spinda would pounce on Onyxia and swipe the honey before fleeing the scene, the other Spinda thrusting the keychain into her hand and fleeing the other way. All at once the Diglett would disappear into the ground, the pathways shifting perfectly back into place. Beside one however, was now a large red arrow. It would seem they weren't going to magically transport the girl off the island for a mere jar of honey, but they'd point her in the right direction!
[Giant Aspear Berry Keychain: A small keychain complete with a miniature replica of Paradise Resort's Giant Aspear Berry. Made of hard plastic and much smaller than an actual Aspear berry. No effects, but someone might want it?]
Onyxia smiled as the arrow was left. The keychain was cool-ish but it was a reminder for. She had been ignorant, childish, stubborn, even a fool. "Thank you!" Giving Ordo a quick nod the followed the arrow. "Such Nice Pokémon they were. Plus that Berry was large." With the shrug they were off.
