"Hey, hey, hey..." Tethys took no presence when he was in these particular moods, and despite his sister's best efforts to ignore him, he was insistent in prodding her in the temple with his toe until she gave him the attention he deserved. This wasn't without a series of exasperated sighs, or a look cast in the direction of her new Thrall who seemed to have developed an appreciation for their family dynamic.

"Hey, hey, hey -" he continued to poke, his eyebrows raising as he waited expectantly for her to acknowledge him. All in all, he had to give her credit for the fact that she was holding out for so long this time round. She really, really must have been working on something of vital importance at this moment in time.

...Oooh perhaps she had gained traction with whatever it was she was studying?

He paused to consider this, a momentary respite for the lioness as he debated the possibilities of this. He surmised that she must be close, but he had since been informed by his newest friend that ranks within the more 'civilian' parts of the pride required less brawn and a lot more brain - so not for him apparently.

"Dione are we just going to pretend that I'm not here or are you going to say hello?" he said finally.

"I really was rather hoping you would get bored and go away," she swatted his paw away with her own as she finally acknowledged her brother. He seemed to be in suspiciously good spirits and she was beginning to suspect that she would see a smug smile appearing on his lips before long. It was only a matter of time before it came, honestly, at some point she had her assistant were going to have to run some scientific analysis on him to see just how predictable he could be.

"What is it that you want, exactly?" she asked.

Granted, he had been rather well behaved in recent weeks and had gotten about his own duties admirably. She had watched him go back and forth among his own 'band', or what she assumed was his band, with a studiousness that would have made their father proud - hell, even she was reasonably impressed by his display. She may not care to admit it but perhaps she had been wrong in some respects.

...She'd never admit it to him though.

Regardless, she knew all too well that if she didn't humour him then she wouldn't actually be able to get rid of him, so she might as well hear what he had to say before she got back to work!

"Oof, tetchy!" Tethys raised a brow at his sister's catty response and cast a brow towards Nanabe, the female had been quick to respond back with an expression that he had grown to understand was much like his sisters. He had been right in assuming that they would get along swimmingly, they both thought he was a bit of an idiot, or rather they simply had bigger 'fish' to fry and he was currently in the way.

...He probably should spend a day or two with some of the more civilian positions to find out exactly what it was they did so his sister, and now her assistant, didn't constantly look at him as though he was as thick as two short planks. That being said, both of them had already conceded in their own ways that he was rather good at his job and he was even beginning to suspect that his sister might believe that it was possible for him to go even further.

If he put his mind to it, of course.

"We're heading out again," he said. Rather than tease her further, he opted for short and sweet on this occasion. Whatever it was she was working on at the moment was clearly more important than all her usual stuff.

"Do you want anything while I'm out there? Herbs, fish, oils... You know the usual, or nah, you're good?"

Did she need anything? It was a legitimate question and it was one that she did afford a while to consider. As she was now Freeborn, exploration wasn't something she was permitted to do at this time and there were some things that she couldn't acquire here. She glanced briefly towards her 'shelves' within her den and clucked her tongue; there were some things that she certainly didn't want for at the moment, but there were other things...

"Yes," she said finally and returned her gaze to her brother. "Some of the kelp in the great lakes, there's a number of berries in the trees just near the mountains in the south if you're going to be near there and..." she paused and eyed her shelves again, did she really need anything else? Perhaps she should request extra to ensure that her supplies were adequate.

On occasions these Vikings seemed to be unpredictable and not all Captains and Reavers were prepared to listen to every request. Having a brother in such a position was useful for the most part.

"Actually, you know what... get me a bit of everything," she said at last and offered a wry smile. "It will save you another trip later when I inevitably run out of everything else," she explained. "I think that's everything unless my assistant has any requests for herself?"

A shake from the cream and purple lioness's head indicated that she wasn't in need of anything.

A little bit of everything, or a lot of everything? Was he going to have to request one of the thralls haul all her junk back or was this going to be...

He shook his head at this, he would work out the finer details while he was out there. So long as he managed to bring in enough of what the Captain and his band were charged with finding, then he shouldn't have a problem shoehorning a few of the things in in terms of supplies. The other Reavers often did this, so it was reasonable to assume that he would be able to as well so long as he put the right amount of work in.

"I think I got it," he said finally, taking a final glance towards the shelf and all of its content. He vaguely remembered where she had gotten her items before, he would pick the ones up that he found nearby. The others would have to wait if he was unable to source them and they were too far beyond where his band had set their camps...

That said, he gave a nod and ducked his head as he left the Den, he'd leave her to her work for the time being and torture her another time...

She would be lying if she said she wasn't just a touch surprised by his quick exit, normally he would have spent a little longer driving her distraction. Curious, she had to wonder what had him leaving so soon, were his band aiming to move quickly on this occasion or did he have something else to attend to? Her lips pursed thoughtfully, as she watched him go.

However, once he was out of sight she nodded to Nanabe once more to indicate she was ready to begin. They had work to do, and with her brother now exiting the building, it was in their best interests to start making progress. If she didn't start making progress on this research now, she was never going to get anywhere and then it would be she who was scuffing her paws under the shadow of her sibling.

...She couldn't have that.
