Laughter proved difficult with her fingers still around her tongue, but Heather still managed. Or, well, she managed a version of laughter that came with Fabian's amusement at her, admittedly, dumb action. With her stunt completed she dropped her hand to her side, subtly wiping her fingers against the material of her pants, then seriously considered the suggestions Fabian brought up. "I have not!" she admitted. "But, you know what, I'll probably do both now. Do you want to be my first sidekick slash client?" It was a very lucrative offer, if she did say so herself.
Lysander shot a 'yeah, that was good, huh?' look at Melody -- well, he tried to. But it was more sheepish than bemused, though he was relieved when he saw her smile. Alright, good. They were... good. "Exactly why I did it," he insisted, but was then quick to look down at Amp when further attention was called to him. "Mm, for a few months now." It was an estimate, he couldn't recall the exact date he'd received Amp, but it was the same time Heather had received Legato; she probably knew, actually. "My mom gave him to me as a... gift, after I told her I was joining Heather on her journey," he explained.
Heather grinned at Melody and nodded her head, trying very hard not to comment on Fabian's down state -- it was the boat ride all over again, but with less sea sickness. "Exactly! Strawberry sauce, strawberry smoothies, chocolate covered strawberries. even salads. It's the one fruit that goes well with everything." She was doing a bit of multi-tasking at this point, carefully digging her spoon into her dessert -- without toppling it out of her hands -- while talking with Melody, and keeping an eye on their pokemon. The redhead quickly became overwhelmed with it all, and alleviated her tasks by sitting down at a nearby table.
"Nope." Lysander replied firmly when Melody spoke of owing him. He hid a smirk behind his cone, "This is me paying you back, remember? You can't owe me on this." As much as he was enjoying his conversation with Melody, and could easily ignore Fabian's pouting, he still felt... not quite bad, but he felt something, knowing that he was the only one who'd have to pay for his ice cream. He'd buy him something too, just so he wouldn't feel like the odd man out. Or, at least he would have -- had he not spoken. Though he didn't have anything in his mouth, Lysander still found himself choking, and nearly dropped his ice cream as he whirled around to face Fabian, face red and a look of bewildered anger in his eyes. Had he actually just suggested that?! He glared at Fabian, who was 'casually' looking over the menu, before sighing heavily. "You're an idiot," he announced, loud enough for the entire group to hear. "Decide on what you want. Before I change my mind." How did Melody deal with him?

Fabian’s eyes practically shined as Heather offered him the opportunity to be her first sidekick slash client in this clearly new and exciting venture. He clapped his hands together with a grin, head bobbing in a fierce nod. "Of course! I’d be humbled," he announced, giving a bow. This was exactly the kind of thing he was looking for to bolster his (future) career and he had faith Heather could help him do it!
Melody tilted her head thoughtfully, still eyeing Amp and even taking a moment to take a gander at the other pokemon that were loose. Susie didn’t seem to have bothered finding anything else to fight after the last brutal attack and was sticking close to Cadenza as they explored the other less tall grass areas. Xander and Seirra weren’t nearly as startled off, though they seemed less engaged with the idea of fighting. Maybe she or Fabian would need to kick them into gear at this rate but she wasn’t too worried. They were the stronger of his team; it was probably some level of dangerous to let them get in too much training. "Oh? Well that was oftly sweet of her. Did she get him from a breeder?" She inquired curiously. There was some level of interest to how someone came about a pokemon that wasn’t a starter after all.
She quirked an eyebrow and took the milkshake with only mild resistance, trying hard to look stern at the idea that this was pay back and that she wouldn’t be owing hima thing, but the slt smile couldn’t help but peek through. "Hmph, well I suppose I can accept that just this once," she remarked and with a gave a sip of the milkshake, smiling at Heather’s enjoyment. "Oh absolutely. I think it’s right up there with apples for that title," she joked. Taking another sip of her milkshake, she opted to let Lysander have a moment to enjoy his own treat and speak with Heather. "So Heather, you been enjoying your journey so far?"
Fabian gave Lysander a curious glance when he all but started choking on air, blinking a moment in slight confusion before a grin attempted to creep it’s way across his face. Where anyone else would’ve taken pause to the fact that the man before him was glowing red and looking ready to murder, the songbird was a few brain cells short of noticing. ”Hey now! There’s no shame! I mean, she probably wouldn’t do the ‘chill’ part, bless her soul but hey,” he leaned in, elbowing him in the rib gently and wiggling his eyebrows, ”Like, second base wouldn’t be bad! Know what I’m sayin’?” Of course, he’d won his right to a treat due to sheer pity on Lysander’s part and he would take it. His eyes went wide and he jumped with glee, immediately ordering a large brownie fudge milkshake with the works.
Melody didn’t miss the commotion, frowning and giving the two a look. ”Everything alright over there?” She asked, looking between the two and raising a curious eyebrow at how red Lysander was. Oh no what had Fabian done now?

"I'll have my people contact your people when a contract has been drafted," she informed him, throwing in a bit of legal jargon to make her sound more professional. She looked around twice, assuring that there weren't any eavesdropping villains, before leaning in and to whisper, "And we'll get your superhero suit in soon." Heather pulled back afterwards, the widest of grins on her face, before she winked and made a motion of zipping lip; indicating that Fabian should keep his new persona a secret, costume and all.
"Mm." Lysander looked off to the side, and coincidentally where Bass and Diode were interacting, as he tried to remember what his mother had told him about Amp's origins. "Yeah, she did," he answered, auburn eyes lighting up with the memory. "From a couple in Paniola Town." He cast a glance back to Melody, considering something. "Did you ever own any other pokemon? Besides your Scizor." And technically it was Fabian's, even if he didn't know jack s**t about training pokemon. Melody obviously did, her Scizor, looked strong, though... now that he thought about it, he didn't know just when Melody had started training pokemon. Had she done the whole journey thing too, at one point?
He stared back at the blonde, his own stern look cemented in, though a bemused smirk was quick to take over upon her 'resignation'. "How very kind of you," Lysander drawled. Heather, of course, didn't miss a second of the two's conversation, though she did her best to hide her grin when Melody turned to her. "They're the kings of fruits," she concluded with a sage nod. "I have been!" She spoke as she scooped up the tuft of whipped cream that sat loftily atop her sundae, arguably the best part of the chilled dessert -- too bad everyone liked to skimp out on it. "I know I've lived in Kalos all my life, but traveling through it as a trainer gives every city a whole new perspective." It really was turning out to be as grand as she had imagined it to be. "What about you, Melody? Have you been enjoying yourself?" She took a moment to pause, popping her spoon in her mouth and letting the whipped cream melt against her tongue. "Are you missing anybody back home? A boyfriend maybe?"
Heather seemed to be enjoying her chat with Melody! It was just a shame that Lysander couldn't say the same about his with Fabian. He was at a loss for words as the brunette continued speaking, each sentence, unfathomably, worse than the last; Lysander felt his ears start to burn. "...Shut up before I drown you." There was more than enough water around the for him to do it, though it might put a damper on the day, at least for Heather. With his free hand he covered his face, trying to recover before he rejoined the girls. "...We're fine." The red-head dropped his hand down, and right into pocket to retrieve his wallet. He still had to pay for Fabian, after all. "Never bring this up again," he muttered as he handed the cashier his card, referring to all contents of his 'bribery'.

Secret kept. Before breaking off from that line of the conversation, Fabian grinned and returned a zipped lipped motion of his own. Of course he wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize this new contract! At least until he forgot; then all bets were off the table.
Melody in the meantime, was taking in the information provided by Lysander on how he’d come to receive Amp, head bobbing slightly. "Oh? Right here in Alola, hm? Well that’s convenient," she smiled a bit at the thought, "I bet he really got the special treatment then. This place seems like the kind of place to breed top stock pokemon. Maybe we should visit sometime?" She suggested. While she wasn’t entirely sure if breeder pokemon really remembered ‘home’ like that, it might be cool to see what else was available or how it all worked. At the question concerning her own pokemon ownership, Melody pursed her lips together, brow furrowing as she glanced about at the pokemon again. Absently, she folded her arms over her chest.
"Well besides Sierra… I suppose Xander would technically be mine. And Fala too, to some degree," Actually, without wanting to admit it, more of the stronger ones of the team were hers. Or would probably be considered hers. She’d invested the time with them, the training and the care with… very minimalistic assistance from Fabian. Ergo was probably the only exception, and that was more so because he had wandered in and been found by the pair as opposed to caught and raised. "A lot of Fabian’s pokemon we’ve taken care of together, you know? But… well he’s not one for doing any kind of training." That last part sounded a bit tense, but she shook her head at it all. It was what it was and ultimately, the decision to let Fabian have full reign of the team was done with the hope that he would well… learn how to handle them. And if not? Well they were at least in a position to be capable of taking care of one another. "But no, that’s about it. Really should catch a few of my own to be honest. I miss actually training them up and all and Fabian needs to take care of his own new catches. Have you caught a lot so far? That’s part of the journey after all." Although, maybe these were questions better meant for Heather, since it seemed like (much like herself), Lysander was tagging along as well.
Melody chuckled at the young girl’s proclamation, unable to help a cheery smile. The girl’s good nature was clearly just that infectious; though the blonde wouldn’t lie. It was nice to talk to someone who acted young because… well they were. It was a breath of fresh air (as shameful as that was to admit) in the moment. "Of course!" She took another sip of her shake, eyebrow quirking at the excitement that Heather excumed as she described their journey so far. "That sounds pretty introspective… you’re very bright Heather. That’s an excellent way to look at it all," as the question was turned on her and her enjoyment and if well anyone was being missed, she chuckled, eyebrow quirking just a bit at that last part. "Oh… it’s been alright, though no nearly as exciting as yours. And no, unfortunately. Datings a bit hard when you’ve got people to look out for," an understatement of the century in regards to Fabian. "I do miss my parents a bit though. I should probably check in at some point..," she shook that off and returned to the real conversation, "So are you ready to head back to Kalos when you do? I heard you got a lot of badges so far. That’s pretty impressive."
Fabian couldn’t help but grin at the reaction his words had garnered. He wasn’t one to delight in others discomfort or anything but boy… was it hilarious to see just how red he was turning in response to it all. D’aww how cute! And to think, this was probably one of those ‘cool’ friends too. He’d weaseled his way to a free milkshake though and snatched it up, immediately setting to sipping in delight, though gave Lysander a look and an eyebrow wiggle like ‘maybe I won’t’ at the remark on bribery.
Melody gave Lysander a bit of a look, clearly not at all believe his claim. He was redder that a Kricketot"Uh… huh…," she commented, nothing that Fabian was now in possession of a shake and that Lysander was putting away his card, frowning some. "Fabian, I should hope you pay him back." She scolded, though her look to Lysander suggested he really ought to have not done that. And actually judging by his face, there was clearly more to the fiasco than expressed and her concern was peaked.

With a thoughtful gleam in his eye, Lysander looked over at Amp, only to deadpan as he watched him attempt to strike a paper cup, a sudden gust of wind sending it tumbling over the ground, only to miss and end up tripping over his paw. "...Or maybe that's where they dropped him on his head," he muttered, turning back to Melody. "He must've. It's the same place Heather got her Brionne, and he's pretty spoiled." And Heather had only kept spoiling him ever since. Lysander shrugged his shoulders, considering Melody's suggestion. "I wouldn't mind it. You can't go your entire life without experiencing the ranch life," he joked.
He nodded his head slowly, holding back from interrupting with inquiries on who Xander and Fala were. He could find out later. "So really, it's been you whose been training them," Lysander summarized, with a quirk of the eyebrow. It was irritating, for sure. He still couldn't understand why Melody put up with Fabian, and his antics. The only thing he could think that could, possibly, explain it, was that she'd built up a tolerance for it, having him known him so long. But even then, it was still impressive. Lysander nudged her playfully, "Maybe you should be the one who's earning those badges." It was the best cheering-up-because-you-look-like-you-need-it tactic he could come up with. The redhead instinctively reached out to his right hip, where he kept his pokeballs and thought for a moment. "I haven't exactly caught anything..." he spoke, and came to realize this simultaneously. "I got Bass from Sycamore, Diode from a trade, and I... found Jewel." He actually hadn't done the traditional battle and capture since they'd started out, but neither had Heather, now that he thought about it. "Maybe I'll join you in catching a few pokemon," he suggested, with a chuckle.
"Oh!" Surprise took over Heather's face at Melody's compliment, but even with her spoon in her mouth she still managed a smile. It wasn't often she was called 'bright', and it was certainly nice to hear it. "Why thank you~" Placing her spoon back into her sundae, and taking a short break from her ice cream, the teenager leaned forward onto her elbows. "I seeeeeeee." She nodded her head slowly, storing such crucial information away for a certain someone. Although she wanted to ask a follow-up question, she didn't want to risk losing her sublteness. "You should definitely call your folks, I bet they would appreciate it. Where do they live?" Heather asked, getting back on topic. She hummed thoughtfully, tipping her head to the left. "Mm, I think so! I've really enjoyed exploring the other regions, but it's been a while since we've been in Kalos and I'm ready to start going for gym badges again," she answered. "Once we get this next badge we'll be halfway there!"
Lysander, thoroughly done with Fabian for the rest of their trip, if not the rest of his life, only glowered in response to his eyebrow wiggle. Maybe instead of drowning him in the water, he'd drown him in that shake of his; it was much closer... "He doesn't have to pay me back," he assured, after taking his card back and heading over to the table. Lysander, while aware that Melody was eyeing him, couldn't bear to look at her; not yet, at least. At this point his blush, while not completely gone, had started to fade away. "Just make sure to pay for yourself next time, Fabian." Because he wasn't going to do this a second time, he'd learned his lesson. "You guys have any idea about what you want to do after the Garden?" he asked, directing the question to all three.

Melody had to choke a laugh at that remark, instead nudging Lysander and giving him as a curt a look as she could manage with a hand hiding her face. "Hey now, be nice. He might save your life someday," she commented, eyebrow quirking just at the suggestion. That’s how those stories went didn’t they? It was always the ones you least expected to do so that were saving lives. "I think I could handle a little ranch life, what about you? I think you could pull off the cowboy look if you wanted," she mused.
"Mmm.. Guilty as charged." She shrugged. Melody wasn’t entirely ashamed of the fact, if anything it made her some level of proud. Sure the credit went to… Fabian. But the both of them knew the truth and as long as he remembered it, she didn’t mind letting him seem the star of the show. After all, that was were he thrived the best. She gave Lysander a look at his suggestion that she collect the badges, swiping a hand through her hair. "Oh? Will you babysit Fabi while I do that?" She had a sneaking suspicion he wouldn’t. "But I like that… maybe we could make it a competition to see who could catch the most pokemon?" It’d give her a reason at least to leave Fabian in charge of the pokemon to learn how to properly coordinate with them.
"Of course, I think you’re right." Melody remarked, giving a solemn nod. She’d do that when she had the next chance. "That makes sense. What other regions did you go to? I bet a bunch with the egg hunt and all but still," they certainly gotten that far, but with so many badges they probably had, "That’s pretty awesome! Fabian’s only got two, you should give him a few tips so he can catch up."
Melody frowned at Lysanders claim, narrowing a gaze at Fabian who seemed lost in his own joyous ice cream world. Whatever he’d done was a questionable act and she would figure it out one way or another. As the question turned to what they might do after the garden visit, she paused but Fabian perked up eagerly. "Oh I know!" He interrupted, a grin sliding across his face. "All this water has me feeling, swimmy! I bet there’s a beach or somethin’ around here. We should go to it! Sun, sand, waves and other ‘beautiful’ sights," he remarked, eyebrows wiggling at the implication. Melody gave him a look at that, shaking her head and looking to the siblings. "That might be nice. We didn’t quite get to hang out at the luau and such. What do you think?"

A ghost of smile flickered across Lysander's face, he hadn't meant for his comment to come off as funny. But, considering it'd gotten a laugh out of Melody... "That'd be the day..." he muttered, before he glanced at the blonde. "I've got nothing against him, he's a good fighter, he just isn't the smartest out there." If Melody and Fabian really did stick around, she'd see for herself. Amp was just simple-minded, and there was nothing wrong with it, really. Lysander snorted, and loudly at that, before he shook his head. "Really now? Boots, leather vest, and ten-gallon hat and all?" he prodded with amusement. "Don't forget the spurs too." Honestly, the more he talked about it the clearer the image was becoming, and... the redhead wasn't pleased at all.
"That's... actually pretty impressive," Lysander admitted. Despite the fact that they'd known each other for... a few years now, Lysander still didn't too much about Melody. She was a hell of a drummer and a trainer, which just made her even more... well, bad a**. The male quickly cleared his throat. "Hell no." Lysander answered quickly, and firmly, a sneer crossing his face as whatever thoughts he'd previously held were now replaced by the idea of babysitting someone his age. Eventually his expression relaxed. "Oh yeah? What happens at the end of the contest, when, you know, I've won?"
Heather nodded her head, pleased at Melody's promise to contact her parents. Absently, she began stirring her sundae with her spoon, mixing her strawberry syrup into the ice cream that'd melted to make a pink soup. "Mm," Melody nodded, sipping her shake and eyeing Amp thoughtfully. Not the smartest? That sounded familiar. She smiled through her drink, eyebrow quirking as Lysander spelled out the whole cowboy look. "Well I was thinking just the hat but… I think you could pull the whole nine yards if you really wanted too," she joked, trying the hardest to smirk at the idea. While he might’ve not enjoyed the image, she couldn’t help but find it amusing.
The blonde of course blinked and shrugged, appreciative of the semi-compliment but clearly not as impressed at the idea. She gave him a bit of a look at the throat clearing which quickly changed to faux disappointment as he declared that he wouldn’t be babysitting Fabian on her behalf so that she might pull off the badge getting suggestion. "Aww… well that’s a shame," she smirked, finishing the last of her shake. "Well I have no idea, because I don’t think you’ll be winning," she remarked as she tossed the cup, smirking at him. "But I’ll humor you; what would you like if you somehow managed to win?" She could humor him that much.
"Oh wow, that’s a lot of places," Melody smiled, considering a moment her answer to the question. "Well, I’ve been to a few regions, but together Fabi… I think Hoenn and Sinnoh mostly?" They’d kind of jumped around a lot during the egg hunt and given her agitation with Fabian during the time, it was a bit hard to recall all where they’d been. "It’d be nice to revisit some of them though, Unova has some great entertainment and Kalos for the music business." Melody quirked an eyebrow curiously at that claim, shooting Fabian a bit of a look. Battling teacher? Well, maybe Heather would get through that thick skull easier than she did. "That’s really kind of Heather, I’m sure you’ll be a great teacher."
Fabian grinned as his suggestion was met with, for the most part, approval. At least he assumed it was approval, no one was immediately shooting it down with a ‘no’. Melody nodded as the siblings seemed to support the idea, fishing out the map from her bag once more. "It shouldn’t be, though it might involve backtracking?" She opened up the map, taking a look before stepping over to Lysander have a look, pointing out the islands. "It says here Hau’Oli City has a few beaches, though there seems to be some other places too. What do you think? You’re choice."

"If you're gonna dress up, might as well go all out, right?" Even if some people (Lys) would rather die, than be caught dead in such a ridiculous get-up. "But, don't count yourself out. I think you could pass as a cowgirl -- hell, you'd probably look better than me." Was he trying to pass the buck? Nooooo.
The redhead could only offer a shrug at the clear, genuine, disappointment Melody expressed. "Sorry, Melody. I just don't have the mental fortitude to deal with him," he explained somberly. Surely, she could understand that. He placed a hand to his chest, offended, before smirking, "You're rather confident in yourself. But, when I, definitely win, I would like..." It was here that he paused, eyebrows furrowing together in concentration as he contemplated the sort of reasonable prize he could ask for. "...Let me get back to you on that," he eventually remarked. "But, what about you? If, by some miracle you win, what would you like?" After all, as the gentleman he clearly was, the least he could do was ask her. Even though he was definitely going to win.
Heather 'ooh'ed in genuine awe, head bobbing up and down. "What's Sinnoh like?" She knew... the basics of the region, like the fact that it had an impressive array of contest halls (since she was quite the fan of coordinators and the contest scene), and that the presiding Pokemon Professor was Rowan -- she also knew the names of the starters; Chimchar, Piplup, and Turtwig! But, that was about it. Still, she took the time consider Melody's words before nodding her head again, this time more thoughtful. "Well, you two have certainly got the time! There's no real rush, right?" The teenager finished off the last of her sundae with only mild regret, and puffed up at Melody's compliment. "Why thank you~" she chirped. "I hope to see some real results!"
"Mmm." Lysander didn't mind heading back, and he assumed Heather wouldn't either, but it would still be a bit cumbersome. But, even with that slight deterrent. Heading back to Hau'oli would mean... As subtle as he could, Lysander glanced over in Fabian's direction, and for but a second a hint of a smirk flashed across his face before, just like that, it was gone and he turned his head to look at Melody fully. "Works for me. Mayb we might even find one that's a bit more isolated." The chances of that happening were slim, he was aware, but one could dream. He straightened up and, in an attempt to keep his ice cream from dripping onto his hands, began finishing it off. "Should we leave now, or do you guys want to explore a bit more?" Heather perked up, "If you guys don't mind, I wanna stick around a bit longer. There are a few more things I want to see."

Melody had to keep from snorting a laugh in response, instead gently shoving Lysander once more with a shake of her head. "Oh absolutely," she smirked. "Sorry though, no cowgirl life for me. I’m just too much of a ‘city slicker’ as they say," she did air quotes around the ‘city slicker’ comment, but smiled all the same.
"Well that’s a shame, but I understand," Melody remarked with a nod, arms folding over her chest as she glanced to the pair. She couldn’t blame a single soul for not wanting to put up with Fabian for more than a minute; she still couldn’t quite fathom how she managed to do it.
"Of course I am," the blonde smirked, giving Lysander a side eye glance, a smug little grin just slightly visible. She considered the comment a moment, rubbing her chin thoughtfully. What would she want if she won? She wasn’t entirely sure. "Hm… I’ll think on it. But I’ll make sure it’s good." It gave her something worthwhile to think about at least.
"It’s alright, we were only there for a short time to be honest. It sort of reminded me of Johto I would say." Melody recounted, glancing at Fabian who seemed to still be distracted with his own ice cream treat. The blonde chuckled, giving Heather an affirmative nod. "We do!" She tilted her head some at the enthusiasm that the young girl showed at the prospect of teaching Fabian how to properly battle. She couldn’t help but find it cute; even if it was about Fabian of all things.
The blonde gave Lysander a curious look as he took in the map, giving a nod and folding it up to store away in her bag once more. She didn’t miss the glancing at Fabian, which stuck her just a bit odd (and had she’d seen that flash of a smirk, she might’ve put two and two together), instead focusing on the decision to stay for a bit longer. "Alright, that sounds like a good idea." she gestured to Lysander, "you should probably eat that before it hits the floor by the way. That’d be a shame."
Fabian was still suckling his shake though perked up in excitement at the idea that they would be sticking around a little bit longer. That meant more time to explore and he thrusted a fist in the air in excitement. "Yes! Let’s go Heather we’ve gotta comb this place from high to low! Find that treasure!" Well it was clear he hadn’t completely forgotten what they’d been up too earlier, immediately snapping his attention around. He spotted the pokemon still stumbling their way through battle and seemed to consider checking on them like a good trainer should. But then again… they were probably fine!

Lysander chuckled, took a step back with the force of the push, before he shook his head, amusement painted across his face. "I'm sure you can be transformed, leave your past behind you and all that." He was just barely able to get the sentence out without breaking out into laughter, or pausing to reflect back on the conversation. But, to the man's credit, he held up his poker face relatively well.
He nodded, unable to provide supplementary commentary. Fabian was... Fabian, as unfortunate as that was, and no one knew that more than Melody. "Well, they do say confidence is key," Lysander mused, before patting the blonde's shoulder comfortingly, "If you've already accepted defeat, I'd understand." He grinned, dropped his hand, then looked across the water. "When should we start?"
Heather hummed in understanding, though her gaze remained bright as she envisioned Sinnoh, with little travel experience she was interested in seeing, at the very least, the majority of the regions. "Were you guys able to see any of the contest halls?" she inquired, curiosity switching to specifics. "Maybe if Fabian gets tired of being a trainer, he could turn to contests." The suggestion was spoken off-handedly, as Heather considered the brunette's affinity for flashiness. "Not that I don't think he can't make it as a trainer -- because he definitely can," she quickly added, forming a fist to show her determination.
Though he certainly hadn't been aware that Melody had caught his glance to Fabian, Lysander was fortunate she hadn't figured out the reason behind it. He wasn't out to be called out about his, quickly formulating, plan (it wasn't even really a plan, persay), if she would've even done that. Rather pleased with their future plans, Lysander only nodded, both in confirmation and acknowledgement, before he turned his attention to finishing off his ice cream. "It'd definitely be a waste of money," he agreed.
"Alright!" Heather, fully pumped, shot her hand into the air, joining Fabian in his pose. Before they could get too caught up in their fictitious search, however, the teen had enough sense to check in on her pokemon, and, seeing that Tina had been paralyzed, gave her Treecko a Sitrus berry and a well-deserved pat on the head -- of which the pokemon appreciated only the former -- before she turned back to Fabian. "So! Where should we start looking first?" she inquired, looking about the area as she did.

Melody gave an exaggerated roll of her eyes at the suggestion, sticking her tongue out at the thought. "No thanks, I just started perfecting this style I’ve got going. It’s too soon to be changing," She said as she flourished a hand over herself as though showing off a new outfit. "Maybe when I’ll change my mind when I start having a mid-life crisis." That was, after all, the best time to experiment in outrageous changes. She could tell from Lysander’s face that he was struggling to keep himself together over the conversation, smirking in response.
"It is," she nodded in agreement. Her head titled to the side a bit, eyebrow quirking at him at comforting pat to her shoulder as though she’d already lost the competition. "Oh Lys, you’re such a gracious sore loser," she commented, arms folding over her chest as a jaunty smirk crossed her face. "Well since we are supposed to be ‘training’ I’d say right now." She turned her attention to the nearby grass and the pokemon still scuttling about looking for battles to participate in. "Or the at the beach if you’d prefer to keep to just the battling here?"
Melody thought a moment about Heather’s question before giving a somber shake of her head. "No, unfortunately. We didn’t get to do much exploring to be honest. But I wouldn’t be opposed to see it. Are you interested in contests Heather?" She asked as she eyed the younger girl. The blonde chuckled at the suggestion, "That might be a good idea; maybe you should suggest that to him Heather and let me know how it goes," she gave the girl a trusting wink. Contests would’ve been a great idea if Fabian could stand to share the spotlight for more than a minute. And that still required some coordinating with a pokemon… which he still failed at too. "I’m sure he’ll figure out where he belongs eventually. Your teachings will help."
Fabian grinned as Heather joined him the power prep position, ready to start their search for the treasures that clearly lay hidden around this joint. He swiped his hands on the front of his pants before shooting a grin and a small salute to Melody and Lysander. "Just give us a call when you’re ready to go!" The songbird paused a moment before speaking again, "Can you watch the rest of the team, Melody? I’m takin’ Xander with us!" The blonde gave him a bit of a look but before she could ask why he was taking the Milotic, he’d turned and shouted to the group at the top of his long. "XANDER! C’MON BUDDY I NEED YOUR SWIMMIN’ SKILLS!" The Milotic rose up at the call, giving his trainer a bit of a curious look before nodding and beginning to slither his way over. "C’mon Heather! He’ll be great for checking underwater! Gotta make sure we don’t miss any caves!" He announced to the young girl, grinning and already beginning to rush off towards the last body of water they’d been checking out with Xander closing the gap. Melody just sighed and rubbed her temple. "Guess I’m checking on the pokemon…. You alright with that?" She asked Lysander.

Lysander gave a noncommittal grunt, eyes sweeping over Melody to appraise her so-called 'style'. Eventually he shrugged, conceding, before shaking his head in disappointment. "That's a real shame," he lamented. "Though, I will admit that that style suits you." He could give her that, at least. Lysander snorted at the mention of a mid-life crisis, or more specifically Melody's, before raising an eyebrow up at the blonde. "I can't imagine you ever having one of those," he admitted, his honesty helping to reel in his reactions and calm himself.
"Pff." Clearly, talking wasn't going to get them anywhere, Melody would have to experience defeat firsthand; it was a shame too, considering he'd tried to give her an out. Lysander considered the two options, eyebrows scrunching together lightly in thought, before he eventually turned to look at Melody, a decision made. "Let's start here, and then keep going until we get to the beach," he suggested. "After all, we should be trying to relax once we get there." Or, in his case, relax as much as he could.
"Aw." Heather gave a pout, a playful one with upwards curved corners that looked suspiciously like a smile. "Maybe next time!" At the question of her own interest, the teenager perked up, and considerably so, before she nodded her head firmly. "Mhm! They're amazing! Whenever I visited Lys, back in Hoenn, we'd go see whatever contests were being held," she told the older woman. She played with the idea of introducing Fabian to contests, though already her mind was fast-forwarding to when he'd become a coordinating star, a top coordinator in ever category. Or well, maybe he wouldn't get that far, but she could definitely see him doing it up, in style, with his pokemon on a stage. Heather focused back in onto the conversation, this time flashing a grin. "I hope so. He seems like he's got a lot of potential, you know?"
Heather, pleasantly surprised to find that Fabian was interacting with his team, even if it was in the pursuit of totally-real treasure, she watched in awe as Xander made his way over to them, completely missing her brother's look of disapproval -- and Legato's, for that matter. Milotic were really an elegant pokemon, what with their slender bodies and colorful scales, and they always looked like they were gracefully swimming through water! It would actually make a great contest pokemon--in fact, she'd seen several star in contests before--so maybe... she could suggest that to Fabian. Later though, right now they were treasure hunting! Lysander glanced at Melody, expression neutralizing, before he shrugged, "I'm fine with it if you are." Geez, when was Fabian going to take care of his own pokemon?
Not to be left behind, Heather jogged after Fabian and Xander. She did her best to hide the fact that she was breathing heavier, once she'd drawn close, and peered over the edge of the bank to stare into the water. "Hmm. I can't see anything," she murmured. But, that was what Xander was for! And maybe Legato too, if he wanted to participate. "What do you say, Legato?" She asked the Brionne. "Do you want to help us find underwater treasure? I bet if you and Xander work together, you two will find it in no time!" Legato, as subtly as he could, looked at Xander--what was so great about him that had his own trainer staring at him like she had?--before he silently nodded and slipped into the water. He reappeared seconds later, not quite waiting for an order to go, but just... waiting.

"You never know. There’s a first time for everything," Melody remarked cheekily. "But hopefully, it won’t be for a long time." Or never. Never was good as Melody couldn’t quite picture how such an event would play out for her. It was kind of odd to think about it fact.
"Alright, fine. We can start here," she repeated in confirmation and without hesitation, she whipped her bag around to retrieve a few spare pokeballs. She directed her attention to the group of pokemon as she worked, giving a low short whistle that seemed to catch Sierra’s attention. The Scizor seemed to note the head bob indicating for her to come over and proceed to move towards the pair. With her personal preparations falling into place, Melody took the moment to address her conversation with Heather, chuckling. "He does… just no focus. But if you can find him a reason to keep at it, he’d probably be willing to try." Contests were work though and while she maintained that tone of optimism, she hoped Heather wouldn’t be disappointed when the suggestion didn’t pan out.
As Fabian stole Xander for his own adventuring needs, Melody (annoyed just a tad at the forced handicap) moved to check the other members of Fabian’s team. They seemed to be staying out of trouble. Which was a good thing given their trainer, but terrible for training.
Fabian and Xander stood at the edge of the water bank, the former standing back a good foot or so for good measure. Fabian grinned at Heather as she joined him and did the same for Legato as he slipped into the water. He clapped his hands together quickly to get their attention. "Alright you two! We need to find treasure, and what better than sunken treasure! So why don’t you do a little deep divin’ and see what you can find?" The young man remarked with glee.
Xander, who had been giving Legato a studious side eyeing, directed his gaze back at his trainer, before an elegant head dipped down in a nod before he slipped into the water practically without disturbing it, emerging briefly to give the Brionne a look before slipping back down in the water to scavenge the land below. While they did that, Fabian turned to Heather with a bit of excitement. "You think they'll find anything? I'm thinking there's gotta be at least two or three lost chests around here at least."

Following Melody's lead, Lysander did a quick check of all his available pokemon before he whistled for Diode. The Girafarig, who had kept relatively close, whinnied softly in response before trotting over. She nuzzled Lysander's shoulder, earning a pat on the muzzle from him, before he turned to Melody. "Ready?" Heather, remaining as receptive as possible, took Melody's words to heart. After all, she was probably a Fabian expert. "I'll try and think of one!" She gave a two-fingered salute, solidifying her resolve.
All eyes were on Fabian as he gave his instructions, and Heather, immediately assuming the role of co-captain, gave the pokemon an encouraging thumbs up. "Don't worry guys, we'll make sure you're properly compensated for your efforts!" she promised, after all people and pokemon worked more efficiently when they had an incentive.
Legato gave a huff, able to feel the water serpent's gaze, though that didn't mean he could discern what it meant, but was quick to follow after Xander. His dive down was less elegant, as water from his flippers splashed against the shore, but his concerns lay elsewhere. Propelling through the water, his eyes raked the pond floor with determination. Back on the shore, Heather stroked her chin thoughtfully, "My money's on three, and speaking money I bet we'll have a ton once they find those chests." She smiled, though it was an expression that quickly blossomed as she recalled her conversation with Melody. "Hey Fabi, have you ever thought about doing contests?"
