Route 7 is a coastal route that runs between Royal Avenue and Route 8. While seemingly short, this route has a surplus of areas to explore

Sullivan stifled a yawn as he walked along the route, trying hard not to let a sudden wave of drowsiness keep him from moving forward. He supposed the hustle and bustle of shopping had stripped him of some of his energy along with the fact that they’d been going on non-stop. Of course, the drowsiness didn’t last long as they were soon greeted with the emitting heat of the volcano they were approaching.
The young man pulled at the collar of his shirt in response, beads of sweat beginning to form on his brow in response to the rise in temperature. While he was a fan of layers by nature, Sullivan was rather grateful that he was loaded in them now. Sure, he could tug off his over shirt so that he was just in his muscle tank but right now it wasn’t hot enough to do that and really, he wanted that wave of relief later. It wasn’t too terrible but it was a reminder that some of the inhabitants had to deal with this daily.

Ulani gave a little whine of her own as the temperature began to rise. While her trainer might’ve been willing to deal with it, it was apparent she wasn’t too keen to try and deal with it. She shuffled and eventually flew down from his shoulder to hitch a ride on the back of Junpei, eyeing the Rockruff curiously. Was he hot as well? He had that service vest on all the time, she was certain that, plus his typing, would’ve made him hot. He seemed alright though, instead intently watching their surroundings as they started on the path that would lead them into the park, making sure to keep close to Sullivan as rivets of magma began to appear along the sides of the path as well.

Sullivan gave to a pause as they approached a gate entrance, taking a moment to look up and observe the wooden banner hanging from the top. Wela Volcano Park. Perfect. Even without a sign to indicate as much, he could tell where they were about to enter. Dirt ledges leading upwards towards the mouth of the volcano were obvious from where he was positioned, along with dried out yellow grass patches along the way. Perfect for training and more than likely, consisting of types that the pokemon he was interested in using would do well against. Perfect. He looked to his two pokemon and frowned, noting that Ulani seemed rather uncomfortable with the heat. Poor thing. He reached for her ball and knelt to offer it to her, pointing between it and her. She seemed to notice his offer and gave a little nod; she did want to return for the time being as much as she didn’t seem to want to.
Sullivan offered her a gentle smile, rubbing her between the ears before returning her to the comforts of her pokeball. He double checked with Junpei, who seemed perfectly fine with the situation before nodding and returning to his full height. Alright, then he was set to move along and get training.

Puff seemed pretty happy, though Adder wasn't sure if it had anything to do with its new pokeball. Somehow, he kind of doubted it. Puff didn't seem to care, and it was naturally happy. And on some level, he was anxious about that -- could he do anything to effect this pokemon, for better or worse? -- but he tried to appear nonchalant. Of course, there was a set of eyes always watching him... but Cling remained silent and uninteractive for the time being, instead settling to look around at their surroundings. They seemed to be making forward progress again... he didn't recognize this area.

It was a couple of hours later that Lafayette found himself flying over Alola once more. Dova was certainly getting faster now that she’d worked out how to effectively fly while carrying someone. Which meant that Lafayette could use the time trying to search as opposed to trying to keep from falling off.
At least, that would’ve been the normal standard. You know, before he’d lost an arm and found himself in an odd handicap situation. In this moment, it didn’t quite occur to Lafayette that he didn’t have the double grip that he was use too and that attempts to peer down below without it were actually going to be more… difficult.
A fact he’d learn in a moment. Craning to look over the massive wingspan that was Dova, he tried to eye the routes that were down below; absently lowering and leaning over to try and see around the dragons wings to see if he spotted the familiar purple-hair and her brooding companion. Unfortunately, he leaned a little too far and realized int a split second to late, attempting to grab Dova with his no longer existing arm to try and save himself before recalling that, that too wasn’t an option. Dova took note of the drop and tried her best to catch, but her own wobbly flying returned in the moment and all she could do is catch the back of Lafayette’s shirt before it ripped and he dropped the last couple of feet.
Ultimately all the Aussie could manage was to tuck and roll for the last bit of the drop which was… not as much as it could’ve been. At least there was a convenient pocket of water for him to crash down into…

Thankfully, that much movement, to that degree and size, managed to make the teen turn his head, and he saw just in time to witness Lala's shirt ripping, and the man falling straight into some water. His eyes widened, and he stood stock still for a moment, before glancing at Puff, who had moved to hover beside him. The legend looked curious, but not concerned, though a glance down to his wrist showed Cling looking anxious. Adder paused a moment, before recalling the legendary, and creeping closer. "Hey, uhh... you okay?" he called, reaching for Popplio's pokeball, just in case. She was the only water type he really had right now...

There was quite a stream of bubbles coming from the pool and for a good few seconds, which didn’t exactly leave a positive impression. Before Adder could really get much closer, the Noivern had slammed down and nearly knocked him of the way in her own panic for her trainer.
Dova slammed her head in the pool, searching and latching onto something that she thought to be her trainer. Without hesitation she yanked and instead of an Aussie, violently pulled out his bag. With a muffled screech he flung the thing away, allowing the contents to spill all about the place haphazardly, pokeballs, heal items and the like basically scattering.
Before Dova could dive again in another attempt to save though, Lafayette bursts out the water pool gasping for air as he kind of desperately flailed with his one arm to latch onto something. He grabbed the Noivern and yanked himself out the water, flopping down and kind of gasping a moment before finally settling down. The Aussie blinked and swiped hair out his face, a hand on Dova before it occurred to him that there was… someone else there?
"Oi…," he muttered, swiping water out his eyes again before grudgingly pulling himself to his feet, Dova nuzzling and attempting to help. The blonde focused realizing it was a … kid. Oh. Well, that was probably startling to see if you were a kid. He looked a little concerned. "Eh mate… you a’igh’?" Lafayette groggily inquired, clearly kind of out of it. Pretty sure he was asking the wrong question here....

Adder stared, worried, and after a few seconds, released Brionne. Before he could tell her to dive in and try and find the guy, however, he was shoved aside, giving a small sound of surprise before landing on the ground, grimacing with a glare. What the HELL! He'd been off balance! He followed gaze of the noivern, caring a little less about her trainer now, and moved to painfully push himself up. Ow... his tail bone...
Brionne blinked a bit, completely caught off guard by the situation, but looked over to see Dova frantically searching the waters. She looked around as items flew everywhere, which Adder only absently glanced at. At least, at first. She noticed her trainer's head turn, and track a particular item, staring at it with an unnerving focus that she'd caught a feeeewwwwww times.... She deadpanned. What was he thinking....?
Her attention shifted, and so did Adder's, as the trainer finally flung himself up, and then out, of the water, both watching him gasp for breath. Adder frowned, some of his humanity returning through his temperamental stubbornness. Jesus, the guy looked... awful. He didn't move to help, per se, but he did stare with a furrowed brow, hesitating. He blinked when the guy seemed to sort of come to and be aware of his surroundings, expression flattening at the question. "Uh... I didn't just almost drown, so... Yeah," he replied flatly, before looking uncertain again, "Are you?" He tucked his hands under his arms after folding them across his chest, Brionne sitting quizzically next to him, looking over the... odd, odd man. Was he a water type....?

Lafayette blinked and stared at the boy for a long moment. It was rather clear from his expression that he was still confused about the whole thing. Dova stuck close just in case, though one of the pokeballs shook and Cheri popped out to see what all this commotion was about. She stared at the Aussie and the Noivern, who was sticking close in case the man needed it, before turning her attention to the boy and his pokemon, staring them down with that unwavering look.
"Hum…," was his response to Adder’s remark. That was fair. He closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths, finally moving to stand. He swapped the back of his pants to try and free it of the dirt-mud that had resulted from being wet and sitting there, looking back at Adder once more with a frown. "... Yeh. I’m foine... Ta fah askin’," a lie actually, but he’d bounce back here soon enough. Swiping his hand through his wet hair once more to slick it back and out of his face, he eyed the scattered remains of his bag and scowled. Ugh…. that sucked. He glanced at Adder a moment, before pointing about.
"Yeh, mind helpin’ a bloke ou’ mate?" The Aussie asked, taking a few steps and retrieving his bag. He could still store things in it… Dova had just flung it open in her mad attempts to save him. That was better than nothing.

Adder continued looking at the guy. He talked... differently. With an accent. What was it? He had a hard time even realizing he'd thanked him for asking, until he'd thought about it for a while, and continued to watch the guy. Had he hit his head? He was acting sort of... disoriented. "You sure...?" he muttered, not sure whether he wanted the guy to actually hear him or not. He shook his head, glancing briefly down at Brionne, who looked up at him to meet the look. Both looked away after a moment, and Adder glanced at Lala as he asked for help.
Shifting his weight, he seemed to consider it, before shrugging and dropping his arms. "Yeah, okay... Sure," he replied reluctantly, before looking around. His eyes caught on the pokeball he'd seen earlier, and again, Brionne noticed that look on his face. He gave a quick look to Lala, then moved, picking up things that were scattered around, and making his way towards the pokeball. Gathering it up with the other items in his arms, he turned, checking on the Aussie again, and adjusting himself. When he returned to Lala with his arms full of the man's belongings... there was just one less pokeball among them. "Here," he offered, frowning stoically at the man.

"Yeh… yeh I’m ace," Lafayette assured, flashing the boy a grin. For the most part, his senses were coming back to him; he’d gone and hit that water pool hard with that drop for all the good Dova’s attempt to save him had done, but luckily the pool had been just deep enough. So there was that.
While Adder worked on one side, the Aussie worked on the other. Of course, he was slower because one arm and wetness did that, so he didn’t seem all that surprised when the kid appeared with the remaining chunk of his things. "Heh, g’donya mate. Bonza’ job," he smiled, taking the things and quickly shoving them into the bag. He did a once over and everything seemed in order before standing and slinging the bag over his shoulder.
"Yeh gotta name mate?" He inquired, head tilting curiously. It’d been a while since he’d actually seen a kid wandering about. Cheri in the meantime, toddled up beside him, everlasting stare still focused on Adder without an ounce of emotion. "Yeh seen a sheila with purp hair aroun’? Bloke with ‘er? Probableh lookin’ broady?" The Aussie asked as well. Maybe the boy had seen them along the way too? It was worth asking.

Adder's frowned turned more uncertain. Arceus, this guy practically spoke another language. And that made Adder perk up a bit. Wait, did he? Was he just hybriding a language with English while he talked? Or.... maybe it was just slang. He frowned in uncertainty, trying to mentally track some of the words the guy was using so he could later narrow it down to the right dialect and accent, if that was all it was. Or, find the language, if that was what it was.

Lafayette studied the blonde boy a moment longer as he answered him. "Addeh yeh? Loike tha’ snake," he commented with a grin. He looped the strap of his bag over his chest to free up his hand, reaching out and giving to top of Adder’s head a rough little pat, akin to someone attempting to jostle his hair, though clearly the cap stopped that. "Lil’ on tha’ shor’ side though, eh mate? Realleh an anklebitah yeh are," Lafayette grinned, pulling his hand back as he mused over Adder’s shortness.
Unfortunately, the kid hadn’t seen Mel or Brian. "Realleh? Eh, tha’s a shame," he remarked, running his hand back through his hair. It wasn’t surprising of course but well, that just meant the next step might be actually reaching out to the pair. He glanced down at Cheri, just now noticing that the little pink Espurr was out and staring at the boy. Oi, what was her problem? Or maybe there wasn’t a problem. He shook his head, considering his next course of action. "Well a’igh then Addy. Ta fah tha’ help, I owe ya one." The Aussie gave a flick of his wrist, turning and ushering Dova over, the dragon looking happy that her trainer wasn’t well… dead. Again. Cheri remained in placed though, still just staring Adder down until Lafayette noticed, glancing over his shoulder at her and frowning. "Oi, Chero, c’mon."
Cheri shifted on a little, taking another minute to stare at Adder and his Brionne before finally turning around and toddling after her trainer. She knew what had transpired but well… they’d see what happened next.
Once they’d departed from Adder, Lafayette handed Cheri his communicator once more. "Send a textie ta Mello fah me. See where she’s at, a’igh’ sheila?" He informed. The Espurr just stared back a moment, before turning her attention to the device and fulfilling the request.

Hello again. This is Cheri. How are you? Lafayette would like to know where you are at. Are you still in island land? I still haven’t had any sugar. I am not amused.

The younger blond blinked, and frowned slightly, looking at Lala for a long moment at the association. ".... Sure," he replied after a moment, stills taring, as if trying to figure out what was up the with the guy. He was... odd. Was he not all there? Or was it the fall, that might have caused a concussion or something? "Did you--" He was about to ask if he'd hit his head, but stopped, eye twitching violently when the man reached a heavy hand up to his head. What the hell!? His hand was huge! And heavy! And that was just condescending. But it wasn't nearly as bad as his next comment, and Adder's face quickly started turning red, his hand pulling back as if wanting, very much, to punch the guy in the gut-- or lower. He was on the short side, after all....
Grimacing, he looked the guy over, and noticing he could probably beat him in a second, tried to stifle his own anger, though the urge to at least kick him in the shin still pounded heavy in the back of his head. ".... Yeah," he replied, and mentally, he just considered the pokemon he'd taken as making them even. Even if he... hadn't exactly done anything. He blinked, glancing down at the espurr beside the man, and frowned uneasily. He'd noticed her before, he'd noticed her staring, but he'd been distracted every time, so that he didn't really... notice how much. Or how long.... Or how unnerving it was. Brionne looked nervous, having been aware long before him, but Adder just... stared back at the pokemon, thoroughly unnerved. He raised his shoulders some, leaning away, and flushed as the pokemon hesitated a few more minutes to linger and stare, almost.... knowingly. Accusingly? Maybe it was just his guilt starting to get at the back of his mind. He didn't know whether there was a pokemon or in here, though, so... But it was still stealing. And he knew the pokeball alone was pretty valuable. He looked away, turning as Lala prepared to leave, and looking around for the nearest exit to the next area-- and there it was. Ducking his head, and casting one last shady glance at the man and his pokemon, he shoved his hands in his pockets, and started striding off.
