"Ah… I guess sheila? Thought we were goin’ ta hunt down some blokes though… how shoppin’ gonna help that?" He remarked, though he did give her a bit of a look at the shirt remark. He looked down at the thing, seeming to consider for a moment before giving a bit of an approving smile and nod. "Guess I wouldn’ mind… findin’ a bettah shirt." He could tell she was still making fun of him but couldn’t blame her one bit. Honestly? The sooner he found something less… touristy, the better. Mel gave Lafayette a rather odd, ambiguous smile at his question. "Well it will get us moving around, of course. Better to wander with an aim, than to wander aimless, hm?" she replied back, but somehow, it seemed there was a little more to it that she wasn't saying. She positively grinned at his admission, her eyes lighting up-- obviously, the idea of getting to throw clothes at him to try on (again) was one she was very happy to entertain. If only because Lafayette seemed so very not the sort to be a shopping enthusiast on his own.
Her eyes alight, she gave a sly grin at the challenge, sliding over to nudge him in the side, aiming to deflate that chest a bit. "Think I can manage," she replied back smartly, before starting to walk. After passing only two shops, Brian came to a dead stop. "... How the hell do you always manage to do that?" he asked suddenly, turning from the window he'd been staring through, to stare at Mel, "Every freaking time you derail from what we're looking for, we freaking find what we're looking for." Mel grinned. "I dunno, but what did I help us find this time?" she asked, crossing her arms over her chest. Brian leaned back slightly, and pointed in through the window, to a clerk standing behidn the register of a nice-looking boutique, hair brushed and dressed well, but looking bored out of his mind. "That's one of the thugs who jumped me," he informed. Mel blinked, moving closer. "... He doesn't look very thug-like," she teased with amusement, smirking at her friend, who gave her a flat stare in response. She sighed. "Right, well, shall we go confront him, then?" she decided, snapping into business mode as she adjusted her purse, and headed in. Lafayette tilted his head as Mel explained her logic, a frown still on his face as he seemed to think about it. Sure, sure, he agreed that moving about would make locating the individuals who assaulted Brian easier but then… weren’t they still kind of wandering aimlessly? He did note that there was something to her tone and did nothing more than quirk an eyebrow at the expression he received as he agreed to let her dress him up. Boy, he wasn’t expecting that.
"G’d sheila, we’ll see." He grinned, following along down the street and glancing at the shops and then their surroundings once in a while in curiousity.. He paused though when Brian stopped, looking back at the man in confusion as he spoke. "Wot…," he commented, confusion returning to his features as he glanced between the two friends. What, did he miss something? Mel certainly seemed to know what was going on all though that apparently wasn’t the case. Lafayette directed his attention through the window as Brian pointed out the clerk behind the counter, claiming him to be one of the thugs who’d jumped him.
"Realleh?" He murmured, looking between Brian and the clerk. "Yeh sure abou’ tha’ mate?" The Aussie couldn’t help but sound disappointed at this claim; if it were true well uhm… yeah. It was kind of pathetic. He was expecting some towering blokes… maybe there was something he was missing. He glanced over at Mel as she remarked they head in, looking doubtful for a moment before rolling his shoulders and following her, glancing back at Brian to see if he was coming. He wasn’t scared, was he?

That’s kind of you. You can also save it in the device though, I believe that would be easier. I do not know, I’ve never worried about my tongue getting tired. Maybe it builds with practice? While Mel strutted in, Brian gave Lafayette a blunt, disapproving look at the question. "I'm sure," he replied back emphatically, as if that might somehow argue the man's obvious judgement, rather than just strengthen it. He grimaced and raised his shoulders as he stuffed his hands into his jacket pocket, following after the two with a dark expression.
Mel strode up to the man at the counter, snapped to get his attention (earning a very annoyed look from him) and then jerked a hand to Brian before folding her arms over her chest. "Think you know my friend here, love," she remarked casually. Brian stared at the man with what might have been mistaken as a glare, but with his attitude almost came off like a child who'd told on a kid at the playground, and was waiting for his mom to start yelling at them with vengeful frustration. Poor Brian... He just had the feel of someone who couldn't really pull off intimidating. The guy stared at Brian a moment with a side look, eyes narrowed as if he was trying to scrutinize and recognize him, before a big, toothy, lopsided grin crossed his face, and his posture totally changed. "Yooo, man, you're that wimp we pushed off the bridge, right? Fo' sho, that was legit--" He suddenly stopped and caught himself, straightening and looking around, as if to make sure his boss didn't see that. He cleared his throat.
"Um, y-yo, I... uh, I don't know what you mean, miss," he stuttered, glancing at Mel who had been giving him a flat look the entire time. What a.... She didn't even know the word. Douche? Idiot? All the above? "Look, why don't you tell me where you're friends are, hm? There were more of you, right?" The guy made a face like she'd said something offensive. "Man! I ain't givin' up my homies-- er, uh, friends," he rebuked, before faltering and glancing around again. Seriously, this must be a problem with his employer or something, because he was acting ridiculously jumpy about his own behavior. He couldn't even keep up an act....
Mel frowned. "I could always have you arrested instead," she remarked disapprovingly. He scowled at the threat. "Yo man I ain't scerd! And you must be trippin' if you think I'm rattin' anyone out, yo!" This time he got so loud, several people nearby looked. And this time he, didn't seem to regain any self awareness of the action. Mel looked at him, then shrugged, turnign to head out the store, and pulling out her phone. Brian placed a hand on Lafayette's shoulder, in a 'consoling' motion. "Looks like you won't get to punch anyone in the face after all," he 'sympathized', before turning to follow her. It.... sounded like it was supposed to be a joke, but his expression didn't change much from its earlier, deadpan, unamused stare....

Lafayette made a face at the tone of Brian’s answer, one that seemed to suggest that he wasn’t impressed by the attitude. This just made his judgment of the situation all the less in Brian’s favor, if he got his butt handed to him by a skinny thug like this than that was one thing but getting defensive about it? Well now… that was even more pathetic. At least in the Aussie’s mind. He didn’t question any further though, following Mel in and standing off to the side to observe the conversation.
He was impressed at how quickly she addressed the situation; she was one to just get in there and start asking questions. Something he quickly picked up that Brian wasn’t all about doing. Lafayette listened thoughtfully as the kid responded, frowning at the odd use of slang that he desperately tried to prevent himself from using. He sounded… stupid. Really stupid. And then the fidgeting? What was with people? He couldn’t tell that mannerisms like that hardly fit in a well-meaning establishment like this; which is probably why Lafayette himself would never find employment that had him manning a counter and interacting with customers.
Of course, the conversation didn’t really seem to be going anywhere as the kid quickly denied that actions he was being accused of. Lafayette’s head did tilt in curious surprise as Mel threatened an arrest. Well now, that was certainly something. But then again cops were always minutes away when you needed them, and he couldn’t help but look a bit disappointed as the conversation ended there. He glanced at the fleeting form of Mel as she seemed ready to make good on her words, scoffing at Brian’s remark. "Like hell mate. Yeh jus’ gotta grab tha’ Tauros by tha’ horns," Lafayette remarked, shrugging off the hand on his shoulder.
He strolled up to the counter, the guy’s attention snapping from watching Mel leave to him. ”Yo what do you want?! He huffed, thuggish mannerisms still present. Lafayette just gave a lazy narrowed stare, silent in a way that was rather unsettling for the few seconds it persisted. "C’mon mate, I’ll give ya one chance. Where ya other mates at, hm?" The Aussie inquired. The thug scoffed, thumbing under his nose as he sneered at Lafayette. ”Yo man you for real? I already told your lil’ girlfriend there I ain’ no rat! And I ain’ scerd of you or yo ugly shirt. So you can just step off.” The young man folded his arms over his chest, smug smirk on his face at what he perceived to be a winning smack down. Lafayette just stared at the young man, expression unamused.
"Mhm, alrigh’ then mate. I can respect that," the Aussie remarked with a grin. The thug blinked at the response, and was immediately caught off guard as the Aussie’s hand snapped out and latched onto the front of his nicely pressed shirt, promptly dragging him forward over the counter in an awkward back bending fashion. The man yelped in surprise, hands immediately fling up to latch to Lafayette’s arm both as support to keep from falling and to try and loosen his grip. ”Y-y-yo man! Wha- the- let go!” He stumbled. Lafayette just continued looking at him curiously, head tilting just a bit. "Or wha’ mate? Yeh gonna mess up meh ‘ugly shirt’?" Lafayette gave a grin again, "yeh know, I’ve been wonderin’ how well I can beat a bloke with one arm. Wanna help me out? Yeh mates ain’ here to afta’ all." Subtle, Lafayette was not a master of such; the establishment was certainly caught by surprise, judging from the surprised gasps and murmurs going on.

That is a good reason to be brave. I’m not brave, just smart. My trainer is brave but stupid. I don’t think you need to be too tough to be brave. He is alright. I think they might be friends. The girl owns the rock snake that sat on him, but they seemed nice enough. There is a man, he is a bit of a chicken. It is! No arms indeed. I will suggest he teach him just in case. I think he will lose both arms, he is not very good at not losing things. It sat on him because he was angry. I don’t know how that stops someone from being angry though. That sounds nice, I hope she is friendly like the rest of your team especially if she is smart. That sounds very complicated. Why does she have so many heads? I could not imagine having many heads.

Brian quirked an eyebrow and narrowed an eye in bemusement, dropping his hand as Lala shrugged him off and moved forward. What was he... The brunette's shoulders dropped and his eyes went round as he watched him confront the guy, wincing away as he promptly jerked him halfway across the counter. Luckily, the voices were enough to bring Mel's attention back, and she looked back with a confused frown, phone still to her ear, to investigate.
Before her eyes went wide as well. She quickly wrapped up the conversation as she moved back in, heavily torn between amusement, approval, and horror. In the end, she decided she.... ought to at least intervene. "Lala! What the bloody hell are you doing?" she asked, but she sounded more flabbergasted than angry, and it was hard to tell just what reaction she'd decided on, looking at her wide-eyed expression. In fact.... she probably still hadn't quite figured out how to handle this. Hopefully finding out the Aussie's train of thought would assist here....

Lafayette broke his gaze from the thug to look back at Mel, hand still gripping the lad’s shirt collar firmly and leaving him in the awkward position of barely stabilized on counter. He frowned just a bit at the confrontation, giving a light shrug. "Jus’ askin’ the bloke a question. Tha’s all sheila," he commented. The young man sputtered, squirming again. ”Y-yo man! Let off! I ain’ sayin’ nothing!” He spoke, trying hard to maintain some semblance of toughness despite the awkward situation. Lafayette rolled his eyes, tightening his grip to a bit of a choking hold.
"Sure yeh ain’ mate. Sure yeh ain’," Lafayette glanced back at the boy, giving a bit of a grin. "Sure yeh mates are jus’ as tough! So, where the blokes at? Don’ make me break yeh in half." The young man sputtered again, looking uncertain whether to believe this claim or not. Lafayette, wasn’t giving any indication he was joking, but then again would he really do something like that in a crowded place? The events of that moment indicated he might. In a panic, the young man looked to Mel, practically flailing. ”Yo call him off! He’s crazy!”

Mel looked at an utter loss, still torn on the appropriate response here. She looked at the man, almost sympathetically, as he fretted, but then huffed, quickly recalling his earlier attitude, and his overall slight against Brian. She folded her arms over her chest, eying him as she considered her actions here, then gave a very concerned to look to Lala at the threat. She honestly didn't know him well enough to know if he was serious, but she did know he seemed pretty impulsive, emotional, and.... let's go with physicalbecause violent was a little too strong.
She gave the young man a wary look at the plea. "I dunno, love, not sure I could wrestle him off ya even if I tried. Think you oughta just tell 'im where they're at. They can take care of themselves, right?" she returned. The young man looked aghast, before struggling with Lala some more. "Yo, I-I dunno, man! I ain't trackin' where they're goin'!" he tried, but at no sign of help, finally conceded, "Try over by the docks are somethin'! While Mel was trying to handle the situation (and Lala), Brian stood by the doorway, watching warily. With Lucy. The monferno quirked her head, looking between the man, and then Lala, and then the man again, and occasionally, at the other patrons in the store. She noticed a few on their phones, likely either calling for help, or gossiping over the situation with friends. She looked curiously back to Mel, trying to get a read on how her trainer was handling all this, internally, and externally. Given everything since they'd met up with this... Lala, she had a feeling the torn expression on her face wouldn't be uncommon. He seemed... unpredictable, at best.

Lafayette’s death glare didn’t waiver a bit as the young man squirmed and pleaded to be released, nor did it waiver when Mel intervened. His grip was iron clad, and he was adding a bit of pressure to the hold to crane the boy’s back further into a state of uncomfortable arching. A grin did bloom across his face as an answer was finally earned.
"Ta mate! Now was tha’ so hard?" he inquired, a bit of a smirk to the grin. He didn’t miss the hesitation but didn’t dwell on it further, instead immediately loosening his grip and dropping the man, who yelped as he swung forward over the counter, barely avoiding slamming his face into the counter as he did a total flip to the floor on the other side. Lafayette simply swatted his hand on his shirt, turning and stepping towards the door, but not before giving Mel a thumb up as he moved.
"So sheila, we headin’ out then," he tilted his head, giving a glanced to Brian and some of the patrons but not fazed by the whispers and other individuals still lingering around after the confrontation, "or did yeh still wanna find me a shirt?"

Mel wavered uncertainly, watching the poor guy recover from Lafayette's treatment. Well... maybe not poor. He was still responsible for Brian's earlier frustration, after all. Lafayette walked his way outside with Noah only a few steps ahead, caught off guard and temporarily slowing as Mel latched onto his shirt sleeve. Quickly he picked up his pace to keep step (which wasn’t too terribly hard), a confused frown starting to form on his face.
"Wha’ you on abou’ sheila?" He inquired, clearly seeing no issue in his actions. "We got answer outta ‘im, thinkin’ that makes it good." He remarked with a sound of confidence, clearly seeming no issues at all with his actions. Sure, sure anyone could report it and if they opted to investigate, he was like the easiest thing to find, but he didn’t care. "No offense Mello but bein’ soft on em wasn’ getting’ ya anythin’." He wasn’t trying to sound rude or judgey with that statement, but for Lafayette it was hard to not speak his thoughts in the bluntest of manners.
- Cheri climbed down from the top of the hideous cushion-pillow castle created on top of the bed, careful not to dislodge the chair she’d manage to move onto the bed as well for extra support. She was getting hungry at this point, and questioned whether to fetch herself something from the mini-fridge behind the bar or leave the room for a meal. Her attention shifted to the communicator again though as Cloud responded.

He gets angry sometimes. I think it’s from not being very smart. The rock snake was trying to keep him calm I think; or make him angrier. It was very funny. Mel dropped her shoulders, looking at a bit of a loss. "I had another plan, Lala," she explained, still smiling despite the exasperation. She placed her hands on her hips. "There are other methods, y'know. And now, the police might come after you next, instead. I don't need them trying to steal my muscle away from me," she tacked on playfully. Brian rolled his eyes, but started walking to the docks. Mel gave the Aussie a teasing look, before turning to follow, but her expression grew a bit stressed as she did. She was trying to play it off, but honestly.... that had been a little concerning. Amusing, sure, because the guy deserved it, but she was still an officer, and that was still almost assault. It was certainly threatening. And that wasn't the first time Lala's behavior had been disconcerting, either. She liked the guy; she really didn't want to end up having to put him behind bars because he was too thick and stubborn to realize when to have a bit of patience...

Lafayette frowned, eyebrow arched as he shot Mel a sort of ‘oh really?’ doubting look. "Yeh? No offense sheila, but it certainly didn’ seem loike it," he commented rather bluntly; expression souring just a bit more as she went into her explanation; even with the playful tone it sounded just a bit like scolding in his ears, though he did give a grin at the remark of not losing her muscle. "I don’ think yeh gotta worreh ‘bout tha’, Mello. I can take a coppeh’," Lafayette remarked with a thumbs up, not at all seeming to question the fact that he really ought not to be fighting cops. It’d certainly be a challenge he’d welcome; though he supposed it would do him no good to get jailed, he’d miss the action at the docks and Juliean… eh Juliean probably wouldn’t appreciate having to bail him out.
"Don’ worreh sheila, ain’ no one gonna call anyone, " he sounded rather confident, and continued the stroll towards the docks, rather quickly in fact. He certainly didn’t want to risk that fellow in the shop giving his companions a heads up and a chance to catch them by surprise, he’d rather be the one doing the surprising instead. That speed picked up even more as the waterline and such came into view. "C’mon, yeh don’ wan’em runnin’ off do yeh?"
