Zak dropped off Braviary before he landed, setting foot into soft sand as he looked around. He wasn't really sure why he was here, but it was as good a place as any, he guessed, and he was glad it was at least empty. He kicked off his shoes and socks, before taking a seat, and placing his hands over his face as he took a deep breath. He didn't know how to process everything that had just happened. He reached back and grabbed Meebus' pokeball, to bring it around in front of him. Slowly turning it between his hands, it felt.... empty. It was hard to describe. Still... he pressed the button, with no hope, but some inherent expectation for it to release the pokemon.
The empty clack broke the steady background noise of the waves lapping against the beach, and the bottom swung open, empty, and hollow. Zak stared at it a moment, before snapping it closed, and putting it away. He brought his pokedex out instead, to try and check Meebus' information, but... it was just static. Probably the same thing it recorded when he caught Meebus, plus information on his most recent moveset. Zak sighed and put the device away, to bury his head in his hands again. He couldn't believe this....

Time passed steadily with the crash of the waves, but Zak was hardly aware of it. Eventually he pulled his arms down and lifted his head to look out across the beach. Light was reflecting off the water and sand, and the whole scene looked like something out of a postcard, but somehow, Zak looked past it as he pulled his legs up and propped an arm against his knee. Resting his face against a closed fist, he lost all efforts to sort out his thought in the sea of absent memories and feelings swirling through his head. He wasn't sure if he was grieving. Sure, Meebus had been with him a long time, relatively speaking, but no longer than some of his other pokemon. He'd had Daeva, and of course Deys and Sotnik. He'd even had Feraligatr, unevolved but just as crazy.
Looking back, a lot of things made a lot more sense, after what Meebus told him. He'd done some reflection at the time of this revelation, of course, but now memories drifted through much more easily. All the times the rotom had tried to guide his actions, give his advice... keep him from that mission. Warn him against Imperium, or chide him.
Zak lifted his head and dropped his legs back out at the water, leaning back on his hands instead. Absently, he wondered how much Meebus had seen, and just how much advice he'd been trying to give. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. At least he was pretty Scar was... sort of safe. Meebus had always been fond of her, so she probably wasn't going to outright murder him out of nowhere.
Of course, no matter how much his mind drifted and sifted through thoughts, there was still a tugging notion that this wasn't getting him anywhere. He needed a moment, sure. He needed to sort through things and get his head on straight, but that was going to take time. And right now, he was only going to make so much progress, before it became a wasted effort.
Opening his eyes, he stood up and pulled his shirt off. Least he could do was get some exercise. Checking to make sure that Imperium hadn't messaged him, he took off his watch, and all his other electronics, before making his way into the water. It was a good distraction, at the very least.

Swimming might not have made him feel a lot better, but it did help Zak clear his head. For one, he remembered he still needed to polish off Unova in terms of badges. He might not have been training a lot, but his pokemon were pretty strong, he was sure of it. Meebus had been one of his strongest-- whatever. It was fine. A versatile, high powered pokemon lost, and....
Zak looked off to the side as he tangled his shirt in his hands. This was gonna suck. His head was all over the place.
Giving it a shake, he ran a hand back through his wet hair and grabbed the rest of his belongings. He could head towards Unova, see where his team was at, and start training. It was fine.
