✪Walking Pokemon ⇨ Beltigre! Dallas furrowed his brow at the look Saru gave him. It was clear that he didn't believe Dallas, which got a rise out of the thug. But, he kept his cool, for the time being, and got ready to go again. As they started to get moving, Chibi spoke up, validating Dallas' suspicions. "So, lemme get this straight," Dallas said carefully. "Because you guys have never seen it, it don't exist? Man, and they call me close-minded!" Dallas jammed his hands in his pockets and walked with a swagger while Beltigre perched. "You know what? I'm gonna go outta my way to find one of them, and then I'll give to ya, brat. That way everytime ya look at that Vulpix, you have to think, 'man, too bad I didn't take Dallas' word from the beginning! I look like a total clod!' Yeah, that's right! I'll set you guys straight sooner or later."
Just as Dallas was about to catch up, a wild Yungoos jumped out in front of them, growling and threatening to attack. Dallas glanced over at Beltigre, who was glaring down at the Yungoos. "Geez, you like to fight more than I do...alright, let's do it!" Before Beltigre could even pounce, the Yungoos swiped at the ground and flung sand into both Dallas' and Beltigre's eyes. She fell off of Dallas, but landed well enough. Geez, this stings...Beltigre, Ember!" Beltigre side-stepped the rodent and blasted at it with a little fireball. She seemed to hit, even with the nasty loss of accuracy. And, even as she got more sand thrown at her, she still darted up to swipe her claws at the Yungoos. And, with a final blow, she blasted another fiery shot to knock it out.
Dallas finally got the sand out of his eyes, and scooped up Beltigre to give her praise and clear out all the sand from her eyes and fur. "Yungoos...they're all over the island from what I hear." He carefully brushed the sand from Beltigre's eyes, and started to hustle to catch up with Saru and Chibi.

Dallas fawned over the thing, which stuck out as odd considering he'd pretty much just picked a fight with an eight-year-old less than an hour ago.
Chibi thought on the matter for a moment before a divas idea worked its way into being. Chibi smiled as the devilishness of what he'd decided to set in motion. "I wish Master Saru would care for me like that." He remarked in a low hush walking past Dallas eyeing the Lopunny. Making sure to talk just load enough that Dallas could hear. Chibi gave a disappointed expression, eyes locked on the ground as he walked off. Meanwhile, Saru having finally caught Aipom now sat on a large rock to catch his breath. Chibi gave a half confused half concerned look, Finger still knotted behind his head. "What happened to you?" Chibi inquired glancing back to see where Dallas was now. "Aipoms~ fast~" Saru panted.

Dallas and Chibi had been following Saru as he chased after his Aipom, with Buns whining next to her trainer about her fur being so dirty. "Hey, hey, cut it out, Buns," he scolded softly. "I'll get you fixed up here in a minute." She calmed down a little, but was still softly complaining. Once they had gotten to Route 3 (Great, so we're walking around in circles, he thought), Dallas had enough of the complaining, and squatted down in front of Buns. "Okay, okay, lemme see..." He rummaged through his bag and produced a hairbrush. He then gently started to brush out all of the dirt and sand from Buns' fur. She fidgeted the whole time, only stopping when Dallas told her to. As he worked, he overheard Chibi talking like a crybaby. "Aw, daddy don't give you loves? Boo hoo, you pink-aura'd baby." Dallas lifted up Buns to inspect her fur before setting her down again. "Besides, you're a person; you can take care of yourself."
It looked like Saru had finally caught up to his Aipom, and he was out of breath. Dallas got ready to make some jab about being a lightweight or something, but suddenly a ball on his side popped open. Dallas jumped in surprise to see Queen Bee in front of him, looking queasy. "Queen Bee...are you okay, gal?" Honey was dripping from its bottom mouth, and it looked like it was about to throw up. "Oh crap. Hold on, baby!" Dallas started rummaging through his bag to find a jar he knew he had in there somewhere. Buns helped too, and found the jar. She started to fumble it though, but Dallas snatched it up and placed the opening right up to the Combee's sick head. And just in time, too, as she then spewed out a large amount of honey, almost filling the jar to the top. After it was all finished, Queen Bee smiled, babbling happily as usual.
Dallas sighed in relief, and capped the jar and shoved it back in his pack. "Attagirl," he said with praise. "Ate too much at the meadow, huh? You little fatty, you~" Queen Bee smiled threefold, and zipped around his head before Dallas returned her. He glanced over at Saru, remembering Chibi's cry for attention. "Oh yeah, that reminds me, Sun Wukong the Monkey King," he said insultingly, "Your kid wants you to brush his hair. He was practically crying with jealousy when he saw me taking care of Buns." He shot a smirk to Chibi, showing that he wasn't playing into his little cry for attention. Buns didn't understand, but followed Dallas as he decided get the group moving again.

"I don't think this is taking me to any city..." Why did this island have to make no sense? He was starting to regret leaving Johto and its temperate climate and familiar layout for this haphazard region where everything was lumped together, even if it was safer. Despite the danger, Takumi began doubting that anyone was even going to come after him. The dark specter following him from home seemed so far away after the sun of the beach and hill.
Takumi took frequent breaks, leaning heavily against the rock walls of the path. The only thing keeping him going was the thought of a cold shower and a nice, comfy bed... His last night of restful sleep felt like a dream and so, so far away. He hadn't slept the night before he left, and the escape with Jun had been full of fitful sleep in the forest off the well-used paths. The closest he'd gotten to a good sleep was on the way to Alola, and even then he'd woken up with a horrible crick in his neck. The thought of a good bed was a dull chant in his head, and he picked up the pace as the route turned into the next and light grew brighter.

It wasn't long before Mori and Ieyasu had caught up with Naomi, with Sousa keeping a watchful eye on the trio from the skies above. Trailing behind them was Rotom, who'd covered a considerable amount of distance despite having a late start. Trying to actively keep up with an excited trainer in a clunky body wasn't the easiest task, but he was managing, somehow. Naomi raced up Route 3, with no intentions of stopping even as he found himself on an incline, he had a lot to see but not enough daylight to see it. If he wanted to make the most of his first day, he needed to move quick.
Naomi kept well with the natural incline of the mountain pass, his geta's providing excellent traction, but eventually he forced himself to stop after crossing over a bridge, footwear clacking over the wooden pass. "Okay!" Breathless, he still found the energy to spin around and look at Mori and Ieyasu, the former of whom was panting and looked ready to pass out. "Take a seat, Mori," Naomi advised, to which the feline willingly followed.
A powerful beat of wings sounded from his left as Sousa landed, and thirty seconds later Rotom had floated his way across the bridge. They were all here now! The dark-haired male waited long enough to get his breathing under control before he tried speaking, "this is a nice area. Very picturesque. Mountainous." Rotom heaved a sigh. "Yeah, yeah. It's a real slice o' heaven. Now are you going to look around? Or do you wanna run around some more, like a Torchic without a head?"
Breezing over the gory idiom, Naomi took the opportunity to look about his surroundings, properly. It looked a good place as any to explore, with a curious cavern to his left, right before the ridge of the mountain. "You might wanna keep an eye out for any wild pokemon. They can be pretty vicious around here, and I don't need you panicking because any of your pokemon fainted." Naomi only smiled, which wasn't quite the reaction Rotom had expected, before he shook his head. "Do not worry, Sousa and Ieyasu can handle themselves," he assured, confidently. Though, Mori, on the other hand, he doubted the Litten had much fighting experience. "Do not wander too far, Mori," he spoke, and this time it wasn't a suggestion.

Naomi, no longer in a rush now that he'd arrived at his destination, took his time as he looked around. For once, he was careful not to allow himself to become distracted by the new sights that he left his pokemon behind; he had a terrible habit of doing that, leaving them to play a constant game of catch-up, if his excited departure from Route 1 hadn't been of any indication. No, for once he'd be responsible and think ahead.
He'd been the one who'd cautioned Mori to stick close, a command that he was following with wonderfully, and it wouldn't do for him to lead both of them too far away for Ieyasu or Sousa to help. Though, it wasn't as if that was even possible. What with how close the two pokemon were sticking to the human, purposefully.
They took his safety seriously, which Naomi didn't fail to notice or appreciate, and even went as far to stop any threats before they even had a chance to escalate. Sousa, who was up in the air once again, spotted a Delibird waddling in from the tall grass on the right. It was getting far too close for his liking--Ieyasu's too, his ears and nose twitching in the strange bird's direction--and he dove in to intercept, dispatching the unsuspecting creature with an uncomfortably warm gust of wind buffeted by his wings. The Delibird hit a hasty retreat, in the opposite direction, and Sousa waited until it'd disappeared behind a bend before he returned to surveying the ground.

While Sousa and Ieyasu were on full alert, and on the look out for any and all trouble, they failed to take into account Mori. The feline had proven, for the most part, an intelligent and obedient addition to the team, if not a little lazy, so it was easy to forget that the Litten might want to actually battle -- or rather, it didn't occur to any of them, Naomi included. The newbie trainer hummed softly to himself as he kept with his casual stroll, arms tucked neatly and comfortably over his chest. He was aware of both his pokemon's active attempt to keep the area a danger free zone, and would make sure to thank them properly later on in the evening, and certainly wasn't worried. Sousa and Ieyasu were strong, the latter a little more so, and had years of training and battling experience, none of the wild pokemon in this area stood a chance.
That being said, he'd have to start thinking about how to train Mori, he'd need to get stronger too. They couldn't very well train here, the pokemon in this area were far too strong for a fresh-out-of-the-lab starter, so they'd have to spend some time searching for a proper training area. Tomorrow, of course, they couldn't very well train in the dark. Naomi's mind had just begun to wander, his first thoughts revolving around further exploration of the island and asking Rotom about the general strength of pokemon in the various areas, when he was brought back to the present by a sharp hiss.
Naomi blinked, the world around him returning, and stared out a Rufflet, its feathers appropriately ruffled, that stood directly within their path and Mori who felt himself apt to handle the issue. Back arched and claws extended, he presented himself as a rather fearsome opponent, despite his small stature, but it wasn't quite intimidating enough to scare the Rufflet off, and it acted swiftly with a brutal wipe of its wings. Mori coughed, gagging on feathers, but didn't back down and used the chance to spit out a hot flash of fire at the bird, and left it with a burn as a painful reminder of the attack.
None too pleased, Rufflet went in to attack Mori once more, who had grown noticeably weak, but before was intercepted by Sousa before it could land a blow. The larger evolution looked unimpressed by the attack, neither flinching or blinking as his body was battered, and while the Rufflet jerked away from another flare up of its burn, Sousa unceremoniously slammed his head down against the others. The Rufflet quickly, almost unsettlingly so, grew stiff before it crumbled to the ground in a heap of feathers. Sousa watched, unamused, and eventually the chick regained consciousness and after squawking out angrily, it hopped/fluttered away.

Naomi rushed to his pokemon, Ieyasu at his side, and reached Mori first, though that was based purely on proximity. It wouldn't have mattered much, however, since Sousa had joined the feline and was now worriedly inspecting him for injuries, his own forgotten. To Mori's credit, he kept himself on all four paws, even if he was a bit unsteady on them, and when Naomi approached, with a potion in hand, he stood still long enough for him to administer it to his wounds; he still made a face, the medicine stinging as it settled into his fur, thankfully it was briefly.
"Goodness, I had not expected that," Naomi remarked as he turned to tend to Sousa, after he'd assured that Mori was back in good health. Long used to this procedure, Sousa turned his head left to right to continue his lookout as Naomi sprayed him down with a few potions, needing more than one to help him fully recover. While he was busy doing this, Ieyasu took the opportunity to sniff at Mori and assess him. He didn't totally approve of the Litten rushing off into a battle, at least not when he was still so weak, but at the same time he was impressed by his bravery; clearly, they had chosen the right pokemon to accompany them. Mori, aware of what Ieyasu was up to, patted the Eevee's nose before he laid himself out on the ground. When Ieyasu sneezed, a hint of a smile flickered across his face.
Once finished, Naomi smiled at all of his pokemon, Rotom included as chose to observe the group from the distance. "Well, that was certainly exciting," he mused. "Mori, you show a great deal of courage. You are going to go far, I can see it." Said pokemon opened one eye and mewled back, before closing it again and resuming his power nap. "Sousa, you are doing excellent as always. Thank you for lending us your strength."
Sousa didn't respond, though Naomi had expected as much and used that time to look around once again. He was interested in seeing where that opening in the mountain lead, and since they were already here... "Let us continue on!" His excited exclamation echoed out across the area, causing the grass around them to rustle as a few wild pokemon scurried for protection. Paying them no mind, Naomi led the charge into the next area of interest.

Naomi threw his arms out high in a stretch as he returned to Route 3, a little more tired than when he'd first arrived but with a new addition to his team. They'd seen a lot in the short time they'd been on the island, and for that he was proud. But with the day's explorations coming to an end, he needed to turn his thoughts to finding room and board for the night once he reached Hau'oli City. Raising a hand to cover a yawn, Naomi had Rotom pull up Melemele Island's map once more. From what he could tell, he had two choices of getting to Hau'oli, back the way he came or Route 2, and the unknown was calling to him.

Route 2 was their destination, which was on the other side of the mountain and easy enough to get to. Naomi pulled a smile before he gestured for his team to follow, though he stopped when he caught sight of the drowsy look on Mori's face. He'd been through a lot, and, unlike his teammates, wasn't used to traveling for long distances and battling. Naomi gave the feline a sympathetic smile before he scooped him into his arms, offering him reprieve from walking without having to return him to his pokeball. They were such odd contraptions, he wasn't used to using them back home, and figured his pokemon would much prefer being out and about instead of cooped up in some capsule.

With the setting sun behind them, Naomi and his team crossed over the mountain's ridge and began to descend down its other side. Though the ground was relatively even, there were certain areas that he found he needed to brace himself against the mountainside, lest he start an awkward tumble down. It was a relatively quiet and uneventful trek, though unbeknownst to him that was far from the norm. The birds that usually liked to dive bomb unsuspecting trainers were being kept at bay by Sousa, whose large and intimidating form kept them from even making an appearance; the perks of being a bird of prey. When they made it down the mountain and onto more grassier terrain, Naomi picked up the pace.

It was difficult to keep her phone out while riding on Zeke's back, but Riley had to make sure she was in the right place. She sent a quick message, to Eline, making sure everything was right. But most of her time was spent looking over the island, unlike anything she had ever seen before. Miles of ocean travel atop Zeke's back, and then flying over a lovely meadow like Floroama Town before they came to where Eline was. Zeke circled and descended, wings flapping one at a time in a flurry. Riley slid off his back, rifling through her bag as she ran up. "Hi! You're Eline, right? I'm Riley." She smiled, proudly holding up the ghost incense stick. "Thanks for trading with me." Riley beamed, clutching her new stick in her hand. This would be so helpful for filling up her pokedex! "Let me know how it goes with the ghost one!" With that Riley climbed back aboard Zeke, waving once before she was forced to hold on as he zoomed into the sky.

Eline exited onto Route 3, making her way south to Hau'oli city. She was meant to meet up with the person she was going to trade with, but then, apparently plans changed. Looking down at her phone, she'd received a message from Gladdy. "Wait? Were meeting where?" Well, that was quite the sudden change. Well, whatever. She replied back what her answer was, then found a place out in the open where she eventually came to meet with her trader. The would-be trader turned out to be a young girl, far younger than herself it seemed .Good to know it wasn't a creep. They did their exchange, and Eline watched with mild interest as the girl swooped away on her Crobat, just as quickly as she'd arrived. 'That was certainly eventful.' Lithium muttered with a slight chuckle. Eline nodded her head. "You could say that. But, hey, now we've got one of these items... I think I'll save it for awhile." Eline continued, placing the item into her bag gently.

Pushing on, it wasn't long before Eline could just barely make out the city in the distance. Noted as the largest city in Alola, it wasn't actually all that large... for a city. If anything it was a large town. She frankly didn't see having some 3o story buildings as a way to call a city large, but then again she hadn't really been to many other cities. She'd never been out of Alola as a matter of fact. The thought of traveling to another region entirely wasn't really in her thoughts, growing up her life was entirely revolved around Alola and it's Native Pokemon. Now it was focused on Zygarde, which... Well, given Zygarde's origins revolve around Kalos, the noted research of it's ability to change forms was here in Alola.

►Saru only had enough time to watch the Lopunny trip before having to redouble his chase after his Aipom. The excitement had worked her up into a frenzy of cheerful laughter and teasing as she kept just out of Saru's reach. Chibi stuck by Dallas's side watching with a bland expression. This wasn't the first time the tiny purple ape had gotten so worked up, It wasn't anything exciting to see after the first few times. Chibi sighed knitting his fingers together behind his head more concerned with the Lopunny who'd tripped and looked a right mess now. Dallas fawned over the thing, which stuck out as odd considering he'd pretty much just picked a fight with an eight-year-old less than an hour ago.
