Had the Drowzee's hand not felt so stupidly similar to a human's things might have been different, but bad luck was something that Egan seemed to attract. Egan politely declined her mock offer to loiter in the tall grass, waiting to be groped, instead, following Elena's lead towards Route 3. He made sure to give the girl a good bit of space, lest he tap her accidentally and incite her or Mabel's wrath. The closer they got to the end of Route 2, the steeper path before him began to seem. He really Hoped that they didn't have to climb that to get to this meadow she wanted to visit.

In a much better mood than he'd been entering Verdant Cavern, Naomi paraded his team back onto Route 2 with the intent on swinging by the Pokemon Center to have Moriyoshi healed and checked out. "Where would one go next, after completing their first trial?" He posed the question to Rotom as they traveled. After fighting both Ilima and the Totem Pokemon (though the latter had really just been all Mori) he didn't feel inclined to stop there; he'd been bitten by the battle bug, and the only known cure was to continue seeking out competition. "What? You want to battle again?" Rotom shook his head, unable to understand the green-horn's eagerness, before letting loose an electronic sigh. "Melemele Island only one has two trials, you've already finished Ilima's so all that's left is the grand trial. Which is against the Kahuna, you'll find him in Iki Town."
Rotom's explanation continued on once they stepped inside the Pokemon Center, though he was courteous enough to pause long enough for Naomi to transfer Mori over to Nurse Joy. "He uses fighting type pokemon, so you might want to look into training your other Cutiefly," the pokemon advised. Both glanced over Tomoe, whose small body allowed her the opportunity to slip inside the building alongside with her trainer (unlike Sousa), before Naomi smiled brightly at the bug. "We can do that, can't we Tomoe?" In response to the question Tomoe began buzzing excitedly, her small body blurring from the speed of her movement.

As eager as Naomi was to start Tomoe's training, which would not only get her stronger but bring them closer to their second victory in Alola, he held off from rushing outside and start running through the tall grass in hopes of flushing out wild pokemon. Instead, he'd wait until he got onto Route 03, where he'd be able to disturb the peace of slightly stronger pokemon. Such an idea was the work of Rotom, who'd given the suggestion as he stared blankly at the human, vibrating with excitement alongside his pokemon. "...You're going to be smart about this, aren't you?" He needed to check, he needed to know for sure that the advice he'd given had, not only been heard, but was going to be heeded. "Yes, I will!" Naomi promised, and as a show of faith he forced himself to calm down and relax, taking in a breath to help aid in his quest.
With his energy leveling out, Naomi sat down in one of the lobby's chairs. There was nothing to do now but wait for Mori's return, and Nurse Joy's assessments. Which, wouldn't take too much longer. Hopefully. Still, as short of a wait as it would be, Naomi found himself looking for some way to entertain himself. He pulled his knapsack into his lap, intent on pulling out his book on Alola, but paused when he saw that his communicator had one, unopened, email on it. Curiosity getting the best of him, he put aside his original plans as he opened the message app of his electronic; he was still achieving his goal of occupying himself. A smile blossomed upon Naomi's face once he finished reading Dallas' email, pleased to know that both he and Austin were in good spirits, and achieving a great deal of things while they were at it.
Instinctively his fingers moved to hover over his keyboard, mind already formulating a response, but, after some thought, Naomi reconsidered and withdrew his hands. As excited as he was to respond, he'd have more to respond with if he waited until he'd accomplished something else; perhaps beating the grand trial? Mind made up, the dark-haired male returned his communicator into his knapsack and replaced it with his book. He could only hope he completed the trial soon, he missed having another person to talk to.

Naomi had only just started reading the chapter that delved into local delicacies, and the popular eateries that served them, when Nurse Joy returned, announcing her presence with a polite, "ahem." Naomi lifted his gaze from his book, then quickly shut it and stood to his feet when he saw who it was. He issued an apology, accompanied with a bow, before joining Nurse Joy at the front counter, where he awaited Mori's prognosis. He was fine, with the remnants of the virus he'd contracted earlier out of his system, and the injuries he'd sustained from his battle minor. "He's got a clean bill of health," the woman concluded, as she handed Naomi Mori's pokeball. "If you need anything else, don't hesitate to come back. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon, sir."
He returned her sentiments, and afterwards, with nothing else to keep him, Naomi stepped back outside. Reconvening with the two pokemon he'd left to loiter by the doors, he released Mori from his pokeball afterwards and scratched the Torracat's chin. "It looks like I cannot carry you anymore," he mused. Mori, fighting back a yawn, only nodded his head back before he stretched himself out; not being able to sleep on the go, or at least not as often, was an unfortunate downside to evolving, and one he, personally, didn't know was worth it. Naomi, as kind as he was, gave his starter time to mourn his loss -- approximately thirty seconds -- but began ushering Mori, and the rest of his team, along once that time was up.
There was much to do! Pokemon to battle, kahunas to be defeated, friends to be messaged.

There path was all laid out as they explored their map. While Luca was figuring out the layout of the rather well made map, Sylva finished up her food. On their way the ex red-head went to look over the map herself, until she noticed not to far north of the city was a graveyard... an eerie felling over came her and quickly she folded the map back up and left their path up to Luca.
The path in question was a lengthy one as it seemed to overtake nearly half the island. They passed by the Graveyard and were quickly approaching what appeared to be a motel and a single house. Beyond the house rested a berry farm, of which Sylva couldn't really see from where they were, not that she'd care much about berries either way.

Marching onward with Sylva at her back, Lucatiel lead the way with eyes gleaming with curiosity. Though she held herself in line with the route they needed to take she couldn't help but take in all the sights of the tropical island, marveling for brief moments at how different it was from the cities of Unova and the dense forests of Kanto. She watched men in the distance picking berries up in piles at the foot of palm trees, or climbing up to snatch a few hanging delights, while locals either walked by or poked their heads in for a bundle.
She seemed so engrossed in looking at everything that she'd have probably walked clean off the cliff's edge of the island if she hadn't studied the map a few minutes ago, might've even swam to the next island just to see what was between them! Yet above all, the pokemon drew her gaze, her attention turning to any heads poking out of the brush and the scampering wildlife between blades of grass. "Think we should warm up a bit before we go in there?" Luca finally chimes, taking her eyes off the environment for once to look back at Sylva.

Tropical life was the life to live it seemed, or at least the locals made it seem that way. Sylva found herself distracted by almost every little thing as Luca lead the way. She was confident in Luca's abilities to lead them in the proper direction, so being distracted by everything wasn't such a bad thing. Though the girl had to often look towards Luca to make sure she was still following her. Indeed she was, and just as the lavander-ette went to look in the direction of some surfers cheering, Luca posed a question. Having been half distracted, she misinterpreted what Luca had asked. "Warm up a bit?" She inquired, before a light bulb went off with the replay of Luca's question and the feel of tall grass tickling her outer and inner thigh. "Oh! You mean, like train? Uh, yea sure. Seems like it's been forever since we actually did any battling." Sylva replied, looking away to try and find any foes.
Low and behold, a wild Pokemon decided to pop out into the open and bark a challenge to Sylva. She narrowed her gaze at the Makuhita. Picking Alrun to fight. 'At your orders Mi'lady!' Alrun called. "Er.." Of course Sylva had to quickly check what moves Alrun had, having forgotten all but his name and typing. "Use Bounce." After all it was apparently the only move that would actually work. Bobbing downward, the floating helmet shot upward, avoiding the Makuhita's Sand attack. Luckily, Sylva did too. A moment later Alrun came back down, head-butting the Makuhita, knocking out the sumo fighter instantly.

With a grin on her cheeks and a hand on her belt, Luca nodded right along at Sylva. "Mhm~ Of course, what did you think I meant? After the last few nights we could probably do with stretching our legs a bit so we're ready to go for the Trial." Her fingers passed over the pokeballs at her waist, seemingly deciding which pokemon to take into battle. She moved beside her short companion and thumbed one until they both spotted a new opponent. "Try not to stress yourself, 'Milady'~"
Snickering at the aged vernacular of Sylva's Helmition, Lucatiel decided to put her own knightly spectar to the test when a grey, pudgy feline strutted out towards them. With little flourish she threw Xanthos' pokeball out and practically flung him towards the wild Meowth. The half-formed torso let out a bellowing warcry as he attacked on his own, bashing his metal cranium into the beast's. Their response was only to lash out with short claws, only to pass through the ghost's head uselessly.
"You dare to strike back, do you?" He seemed almost angry that the dark-type didn't crumble in a single blow. "How dare." A steel hand reached out and grabbed the tropical cat by their head and drew them in for another headbutt, knocking out the Meowth with the second attack.

Pouting a bit at Luca's response to her misunderstanding, the lavender-ette folded her arms loosely. "I wasn't paying attention and throught you meant warm up as in.... warm up." Sylva replied, making emphasis on what she meant by rubbing her shoulders. "Which, yea makes no sense." She quickly added, reaching up to flick a bit of sweat off her brow. Either way, Luca established what she'd meant, and after being attacked by a Makuhita and Meowth, the duo were drawing some attention from the wild Pokemon scattered in the grass. Two of which came at Sylva, both demanding a battle. Sending out BelAir, she felt perhaps was a good time to train up the Pidgey as well. Checking BelAir's moves like she'd done with Alrun, she was very disappointed. Then again, Luca had just caught the bird out of the blue, so it wasn't likely to know anything special. She then remembered something really useful. TM's, more specifically HM's, of which she had Fly. Pulling out the disc, she used it on BelAir. "You can't actually carry me yet, but at least you can utilize this move." Sylva noted. "Now, join Alrun."

The swordswoman gave her friend a quizzical look, her head tilting slightly when Sylva motioned to illustrate her point. "Yeah, I don't think we'd need to worry about that kind of warmth in this weather. Especially when you're soaking up more in those dark clothes you've got," With a small chuckle Luca reached over and set her hand on the girl's head, playfully ruffling her hair over the miscommunication. Though, now that she'd said it, Lucatiel was starting to notice the heat herself, her free hand occasionally tugging at one side of her jumpsuit to air out a little. Hopefully the trail area will be a little cooler, she thought, knowing that they'd be running it in a cave.
Once they actually got into things though, the heat was pushed from her mind in favor of battle. With the local fauna now focused on them, it wasn't a terrible surprise to find pairs rushing to fight, and Luca was more than happy to oblige the new challengers. With Xanthos already raring to go, she just needed to send out one other to back him up, ultimately deciding to trainer her starter right along with him.

The eternal scowl kept firm on Sylva's face as Luca ruffled her hair. Reaching up she patted down any stray hairs that get pulled out of her twin tails. "Yea, I get that now." She replied. "Though, I guess it's not that bad. Sure it's hot, but I guess this body tolerates the heat better." Sylva continued. Her old body was always cold, but when she did get warm she often felt light headed, this body was a bit more tolerant. As much as Sylva wanted to hate her new look, there wasn't really anything to hate about her new body. Didn't stop her from doing so regardless.
Back at the battles at hand, another Yungoos appeared accompanied by a Spearow, that had actually been flying overhead when BelAir took to the sky. Seemed it didn't appreciate being taken by surprise. Either way, Alrun and BelAir both dispatched of the would-be foes with ease. Sylva's scowl was replaced with a little confidence, though it was sadly brief.

She could see Coltrane pawing at the grass up ahead over by one of the totem pole-like structures marking the entrance to the trial grounds, while Eir stood by the cave entrance bouncing eagerly on her paws as she waited for Orpheus and their trainer to catch up. ”What’s up? Ya find somethin’, bud?” Zoey asked as she finally caught up, bending down enough to see a couple of familiar shimmering rainbow bits peeking through the dirt as the Rockruff unearthed them. A pair of Heart Scales, well she certainly wasn’t mad about that! ”Nice find there, bud~” she praised with a grin, reaching a hand down to pat the rock dog’s head before moving to scoop up the two scales, ”Here, yer welcome to take them if ya’d like.” Coltrane seemed quite elated at the idea of being rewarded for his efforts, touching his nose to the shiny scales as he focused on the shimmering pattern that seemed to shift and move along their surface. His blue eyes brightened as new knowledge filled his head, the scales losing their color and sheen until nothing but blank grey slates were left in their place which crumbled away into dust. Spreading the ashes of the expended scales onto the soil below, Zoey scratched Coltrane behind the ear once again before straightening herself up to face the cavern entrance. ”Captain Ilima should be somewhere inside here, let’s go pay him a nice little visit, shall we?” she suggested with a grin, her Pokemon falling in line with her as their party entered the dungeon together.】☆ ☆
