Lana observed carefully while Luna explained the pokemon that had attacked her. It wasn't really anything that Lana was familiar with, but she'd be sure to keep an eye out now that she knew these dangerous creatures were around this cave. Daiki was quick to catch on however, showing the group an example of a spinda by morphing into one just to freak Luna out, much to the distain of his trainer. Lana was not amused, giving Luna a gentle pat on the shoulder, stepping up to the "spinda" with a stern look. "Here Luna, lemme show ya how to deal with these things." Lana suggested quietly, slapping Daiki in the face, right out of his illusion. "And if that doesn't work--" Lana kicked Daiki hard, right in the gut, before walking over and wrenching his ear down. "An' don't ya EVER, pull that sorta stunt again. Ya hear me?" Lana growled. After giving Daiki a good wallop, Lana returned to Luna, and Cynthia approached Daiki to help him up. (You alright hun? Sorry, I should have warned you...) She chuckled.
Lana nodded as Luna suggested she should probably return Ava to her ball. "Yeah hun, any time yer pokemon is down for the count, ya should return them to their pokeball. It's the safest place fer 'em, sides a pokemon center." She agreed, lamenting the fact that she should have gone to retrieve Luna rather than letting her come to the tunnel herself. She frowned however as Luna quickly blamed herself, insisting that she had no idea what she was doing or why she was even here and going through with this. "Shhh, hey now sweetpea none a' that..." Lana soothed, wiping her cousin's eyes. "Yer still learnin' sugar, don't beat yerself up for it. I'm here now, and I'll help ya best I can, so don't worry, okay?" She insisted. "Now why don't we get outta this cave and find a Pokemon Center to get Ava all healed up?" That was the next course of action.
Aristotle glared down at Luna's popplio with an unamused stare, wishing he'd said nothing now that the water type had noticed him and was now clapping her fins together excitedly. Why was she so idiotically happy to see him? They weren't friends. He hated her, glared daggers at her any chance he got, and yet.... Ugh. He turned his head around to face the opposite direction, burying himself into his feathers with a huff.

Luna gave Ducky a small smile and looked at the ground, a flush coming over her face. His masculine voice caught Luna's interest immediately. It wasn't often she saw any males, let alone handsome ones. Or maybe the right word is beautiful? Either way, Luna stared at the ground as his Litten came close and rubbed against her leg. "O-Oh... what a cute kitty..." She turned her head up when she heard a third voice ask her a question. It was one of those evil teddy bears! Luna gasped and nearly fell over.
Thankfully, Lana was there to steady her with a pat. It grounded Luna, and she watched both amused and terrified of what Lana was capable of. It was then and there Luna mentally noted that Lana was definitely not someone to mess around with. Luckily they were cousins, though, Luna worried even more about the days to come while traveling.
She snapped out of her daze as Lana addressed heading to a Pokemon Center. "Oh... oh! Yeah, we should probably do that... Thanks, Lana." Luna tried to maintain eye contact with her cousin, but fidgeted and ended up looking at the ground instead. "Um, you will have to lead the way."
Kaliko stopped clapping excitedly in Luna's arms, curious about the Owlet. She wasn't sure why he stopped looking at her. Wasn't it better to make new friends? The Popplio had made so many new friends. She looked down at the Litten around Luna's feet. "BWORK!!" She cried, hoping to get some more attention.

Mizuki purred as Luna had called her a cute kitty. That's right, she was darn cute. She deserved this attention. Mizuki mewed up at the girl, only to have her attention gathering interrupted by an idiot team mate of hers. "You idiot!!! she hissed as Daiki had come forward, spooking Luna in the form of a Spinda. However, she watched in amusement as Lana beat the crap out of her team mate. "Hmph. Serves you right." Mizuki gloated, returning her attention towards Luna and the Popplio in her arms as she bworked at her. She gave a friendly "Meow~" in greeting to the water starter. Mizuki had always gotten along surprisingly well with the popplios back at the lab. She enjoyed chasing the bubbles that they blew.
Ducky winced a bit as Daiki received the beat down from Lana, but he deserved it wholly. There was no way he was going to step in for his pokemon after such actions. Daiki didn't seem to even saw it coming, easily getting smacked around by Lana - right out of his illusion, even. He yelped as she yanked his ear. "Y-yes ma'am!" Daiki stammered, crumbling to the ground once Lana let him go after a good walloping. It was quite a struggle for him to get back up to his feet. "Thanks honeybuns... eh... i suppose i deserved it, huh?" he grumbled, accepting Cynthia's help up. The Zoroark felt like he had just been in a pokemon battle, except he lost and didn't even have a chance.
"Sorry about that. Um, How about you two go on ahead to a Pokemon Center? I want to stick around for a bit longer. I'm sure I'm bound to run into you later on." Ducky spoke up, scratching the back of his neck. After all, Luna had wounded pokemon, and it was too high of a level for her here, apparently. With all the distractions, he hadn't managed to really train his pokemon at all. Not to mention, he wanted to figure out what pokemon the type null had chased through here, if he could.

Lana narrowed her eyes and gave a stiff nod as Daiki agreed not to pull any more pranks of that calibre. "Good. Seems we've got an understandin' between us now don't we?" Lana suggested in a sweet and lighthearted tone that was almost as terrifying, if not more so, than her previous one. Still, she let go of Daiki and left him to lick his wounds as Cynthia consoled him gently. (Nah, you were just havin' a bit of fun sugar. Just poor timing is all, and Lana's like a momma ursaring.) She suggested with a smile, rubbing his uninjured ear soothingly.
Lana waved off Ducky's apology dismissively. "Not yer fault hun." She insisted. It wasn't like Ducky had been in on the prank or prompted Daiki to do it. It seemed all three trainers were in agreement that Luna needed to get her pokemon to the center though, and Ducky insisted he would catch up later. "Well alright, if that's what ya want. We'll start headin' to Hau'oli City then. We can meet up at the Center when yer done." Lana agreed, chuckling as Luna insisted she'd have to lead the way. "Sure thin' sweetpea." She nodded, moving around to hop up on Abigail's back. "You wanna ride with me on Abby, or would ya rather walk an' stretch yer legs?" She asked, though regardless of her answer, Lana ushered Abigail in front to help lead Luna out of the cave and towards Route 1 as Aristotle stubbornly continued to ignore Luna's popplio and shrink further into his feathers with an annoyed look on his face from the ruckus she was making.
Cynthia sighed and straightened to start walking after Lana, given that her trainer was leaving the area. (I'll catch you later sugar. Don't make me wait too long~) She winked, following Lana out of the cave.

Luna nodded as Ducky announced his departure while Kaliko smiled playfully at the Litten, blowing bubbles softly in Mizuki's direction. The Owlet, stubborn and quiet, ignored Kaliko, though Kaliko was easily distracted. Luna was oddly sad to see him leave though she was certain they would meet up again. As Lana spoke, Luna bolded the information in her brain that pointed out not to mess with Lana. Even if they were family, Lana was one tough cookie. Still, the pit of Luna's stomach felt warm and tingly as Lana protected Luna from the mischevious Pokemon.
When Lana suggested that Luna could ride on the Mudsdale, Luna's eyes widened. She could barely contain her smile. "Ohhh... Would it be okay then? I... I've never ridden on a Pokemon before..." Luna commented as she followed Lana and Abby out of the cave and into the light.

After the battle, Takumi left the kids behind quickly. Slightly paranoid, he made as if he was heading for the city but once he was out of sight ducked off the road and headed up to Ten Carat Hill. He wasn't even aware that he was revisiting the places he had gone with Tzut until he reached the top, heaving and shielding his eyes from the sun's reflection on the ocean.This was where he had named Merlin, where Tzut had teached the owl how to fight. Takumi tried letting out Merlin to battle. It didn't make him feel better.
Perhaps because of Merlin's similarity to Tzut, Takumi did find himself fond of it. Which was more than he could say for the cyndaquil that he'd tired of almost immediately and sent to the PC. Though he was constantly unnerved by the way his mind would play tricks on him whenever he caught Merlin out of the corner of his eye. Merlin was flying around the meadow, followed by Keahi who took clumsy leaps, flapping her wings. Micah, when Takumi released him, when dashing off to chase as well, though he trailed behind.
The long meadowgrass was almost soft under Takumi's body. He lay with one hand draped over his face and Haunani on his chest. Her cool body was pleasant in the sun. Nala, who he felt safe to release now, stayed by his side though her warmth was a bit uncomfortable.

Once Lana and Luna had left, Daiki collapsed into an ungraceful pile on the ground, still feeling rather weak after Lana gave him a beating. Ducky had found the situation rather stupid, but funny, though he wouldn't have admitted that last part out loud and risk having had Lana turn on him. At least he now had a better understanding of what Lana was capable of. He'd keep that in mind. "Daiki, I think you deserve some rest after that." Ducky told the Zoroark. The fox didn't make any objections as he was returned to his ball.
Now that he was unaccompanied, Dakota sighed, looking between the pokemon he still had out. The encounter hadn't quite turned out the way he had hoped, so now he figured maybe he should do some training. Mizuki was likely the one that would need the most training at the moment, though he wanted to make sure Jun stayed in shape. And there was also this Type: Null that he hadn't even thought of a name for yet. The Chimera had been quiet, and now that Lana and Luna were gone and things had quieted down, he had begun to 'sniff' around calmly. "Guess it's time to get around to training then. Now then..." he commented out loud, strolling over to the Null and placing a hand on it's back. The touch out of nowhere seemed to cause the pokemon to tense up, his head lifting and wary eyes watching Dakota. "How about the name Kenshin for you?" he asked the chimera. The Null had no response. Not even an expression in his eyes as he stared at Ducky. It merely moved away from under his hand to continue it's hunt. Guess Kenshin would be a good name for now. Maybe even in time, the chimera might come to like it.
Meanwhile, Ducky checked his communicator to see a response from Vince. It was a sour response, but it was to be expected. The blue eyed male was grinning to even just have a response. As he walked along, following Kenshin through the area, he decided to give a response. Text to Vinny:Yeah yeah i know. "Training to be the best dragon master ever" blah blah blah. Maybe you should give someone a chance if they strike up your fancy~ I'm sure you've got to have seen at least one pretty girl that caught your attention by now. ;3 Not that you'd tell me about her~ Ducky sent the text, looking up to find that they had entered a meadow-like area. However, before he could take it all in, Kenshin seemed agitated and bolted off across the field."Kenshin! Hey wait - oof!" Ducky moved to run after him through the grass, but fell into the grass with a grunt as he tripped. Over someone with an alolan vulpix resting on their chest and a regular vulpix by their side. Someone rather cute~ Mizuki stared at her trainer who had fallen. The shiny litten was rather unimpressed at the display of poor reflexes. Jun, however, took off to follow Kenshin in Ducky's stead. "Hey there, sorry about that. I didn't know anyone else was here. Are you alright?" Ducky righted himself, bowing a bit apologetically towards the other male.

He had drifted to a light sleep without realizing it, tired mind drifting. It was all very pleasant, until someone decided to fall over him. Takumi jolted awake, sitting up and sliding away. Andrei? No. J-Jun? "Vul?" Haunani slipped onto his lap, confused about the rude awakening. Takumi stared at the other boy with his one eye wide, heart pounding. The clothes and movements of this stranger reminded him of home, and his looks, well, his looks reminded him a little of Jun. So of course he snapped at him. "That's no reason to be careless," he grumbled. He looked down as if inspecting himself for damage but really he was just trying to gather his wits. "I'm fine," he said, looking back up. Damn, but this guy looked too much like Jun and home, he couldn't focus right. He'd felt so tired lately, like he could just sleep forever. "What about you? That seemed like a nasty fall," he said lightly, words laced with just a hint of sarcasm.

Kenshin could sense the cosmog that it had been hunting from before nearby, searching behind every bush, rock, tree and any other hiding place. The Null didn't seem to pay any mind to Jun as she followed him, keeping a watchful eye. As long as she didn't prevent him from his hunt, he would put up with her presence.
Ducky brushed himself off with a small smile as the male he had tripped over responded to him. He seemed a bit snappy at first. It was kinda cute, actually. "Well, I can make it up to you and show you how careful I can be." Ducky said lightly with a suggestive wink. He chuckled a bit when the other male finally answered him on how he was. "You sure are~" he commented lowly as the other said he was fine. Alright. He had to reel himself in on the flirty comments for a moment. The dark haired male grinned in response to being asked if he was alright from his fall. "I've had worse." he replied simply. "What brings you here? I won't buy that cute boys just sprout out of the ground here." Ducky inquired playfully.

He had almost been equating this stranger to Jun in his head, which made the flirting so outrageously unexpected his mind literally stuttered. He chuckled. Then he though of Jun saying those same lines with a completely straight face and burst out laughing. For a moment he regained his composure. Just long enough to glance at Ducky, which just made him laugh harder. He flopped onto his back, his laughter slowing to occasional chuckles. Damn, it felt good to laugh. It hurt to laugh, maybe because he couldn't even remember the last time he'd done it. He laid for a moment with a hand draped over his eye, then lifted it to look at Ducky. Without realizing it he'd completely dropped his guard and left himself in a vulnerable position. Well, the stranger hadn't run him through with a sword or bonked him on the head with a rock, so maybe he didn't have to be on edge.
"Sorry. Just, what you said...with that face..." Takumi trailed off, realized what he was saying, and nearly laughed out loud again. This stranger didn't know about Jun or the comparison going on in Takumi's head, which made the situation all the more amusing. "I'll forgive you for tripping over me, since you gave me a good laugh," he said, sitting up and finally pushing himself to his feet. He looked Ducky up and down. The clothing seemed vaguely familiar, but he'd never been one for memorizing everything his family thought he should so he had no way of knowing if he'd ever actually seen the style before. "Nothing brought me here," he stated simply. That's right, he had chosen to stay on this island in the middle of nowhere, not been forced to flee by that a*****e Andrei. "It was a good place for a nap though." His eyes got distant for a moment, caught up in memories.

Ducky was surprised and a bit confused as the other male burst out laughing hysterically. He chuckled along a bit, though he didn't quite understand what the guy had found so funny.It was certainly an uncommon reaction that he's received. Well, at least to this extent. His pick up lines have been giggled at before but this was far more than a 'tee hee'.
"My.... face?" Dakota muttered, raising an eyebrow as the other finally stopped laughing to speak and get to his feet. Mizuki's tail twitched behind her; she was starting to find this interaction rather annoying and boring. "Oh? Sorry to have disrupted your nap, then. My name is Dakota. I've just started off on my journey." Ducky replied, deciding to just accept the other male forgiving him for the laugh. As much as he'd rather be forgiven because of his dashing good looks or sharp wit.
Kenshin let out a metallic growl as he sensed his prey nearby, spotting a small pom poking out from the bushes. The chimera stalked closer before leaping forward onto the bush. "PEW!" there was a sharp cry and a flash as the cosmog opened a portal to try to get away from the Type: Null that had cornered it. There was a roar as Kenshin slammed into something else. A large, steel lion had appeared where the cosmog just was, a portal closing up behind the beast.

"Dakota...huh?" Takumi looked the other male over, noticing the differences in his appearance compared to what he remembered of Jun. "My name is Takumi," he responded. He continued to feel off-balanced, completely unsure of how he felt or how he should act. This Dakota's appearance had really thrown him. The fact that he had responded to a welcoming Jun look-alike with such grumpiness was proof that Takumi had not been having a very good month, and Jun was part of the reason why.
Finally, Takumi decided he should give the guy a break. He ah...was a bit more aware of his presence now. "It's alright," he sighed, brushing off his clothes. He wondered idly if it would be safe to find somewhere that he could wash them. Or more realistically, he should try to get new clothes because his traditional garb stood out. "I suppose I've just started off too," he said wryly with a smile. If only this guy knew. "Are you from Alola? You don't look it," he stated, not realizing until it was too late that he shouldn't be asking about where others were from when he didn't want to talk about his own home.
Then there was a loud roar, startling all of Takumi's scattered pokemon back to him. Keahi trotted back with a companion by her side, a Type:Null different from the one belonging to Dakota. At the moment Takumi was too distracted to notice.

Finally, a name to go with that face! Ducky could tell this encounter wasn't exactly... normal. Hopefully it wasn't his fault... and hopefully that pretty face wasn't just naturally so grumpy. The samurai would be so disappointed if it was so. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Takumi." Ducky smiled after the introduction.
Takumi admitted that he himself was just starting off too, getting around to asking about where Ducky was from. "Nah, I'm not from around here really... I'm from Blackthorn City in Johto. My family runs a dojo there." he replied amiably. However, this encounter was destined to be cut off as a roar rang through the area, reminding him of the situation at hand before he had discovered Takumi. "s**t. I need to go. I'll see you around, Takumi-chan!" Ducky said apologetically before taking off in the direction of the roar. Mizuki followed him closely.
As Ducky approached, he could hear the scuffle going on between the beast, Jun and Kenshin. He was not prepared to have Kenshin flung into him as he arrived on the scene, though. Ducky did he best to brace himself for the impact, but the chimera pokemon hit him pretty solidly, knocking him over and causing him to gasp for air as he was pinned to the ground. Jun was fast to come to his aid though, pulling Kenshin off of her trainer. The giant lion was still a bit displeased with this encounter, looking about ready to pounce on them. While both Kenshin and Ducky struggled back to their feet, Mizuki jumped forth, hackles raised as she hissed at the much larger lion, spitting at the beast. The beast merely raised a paw to swat the small cat out of the way, but was surprised as a bright light enveloped the litten, her form growing bigger. As she finished evolving, the shiny torracat was still considerably smaller than the steely lion. Mizuki stood her ground even stronger than before, back arched and hair fluffed out to make herself look bigger than she actually was.
Kenshin recovered after Ducky had got to his feet, and the type null lowered it's helmed head at the beast, letting out a low metallic growl. Ducky was too in awe by his starter's transformation to prevent Kenshin from charging senselessly again at the large lion, a fight ensuing along the rocks of the mountains. They seemed to be heading up over the mountains and back towards route 1, so Ducky ran in that direction to catch up.

Takumi visibly perked up when Dakota mentioned being from Johto. He came very close to announcing his own origin, complete with family name which could very well be a dead giveaway. "That's-" A great roar cut him off. Takumi was glad. He had an excuse not to respond, or explain why he'd reacted to where Ducky was from. He merely raised a hand in farewell, only to be caught flatfooted by Dakota's farewell. Takumi...chan!? Face reddening, Takumi spun to face his pokemon, prioritizing hiding his face over seeing where Ducky was off to.
"I should call him something, see how he likes it," Takumi mumbled to himself. "Something like... Kota-chi..." Takumi, lost in thought, finally focused his eyes on his pokemon. "Ahk-!" He was face to face with the helmeted head of a Type:Null, which caused his breath to catch. "Mar!" Keahi barked, wagging her tail. "This is...your friend?" Keahi nodded, her crimson fur bouncing over her muzzle. Takumi gritted his teeth. "You're pretty to look at, huh?" he stated sarcastically. The Type:Null beamed, but Keahi knew he wasn't being serious and kicked him in the shin. "Well, uh... I guess, if you want to come with us?" The Type:Null whined and nodded its head. "Okay... I guess."

Takumi captured the Type:Null, not really sure what to make of it. But he did have an extra spot on his team since Tzut was gone now. And for some reason, he could tell that Keahi was very insistent about it. Takumi let it back out, wishing he knew what it and Keahi were talking about. It was just then that Takumi's pokedex pinged with a message. He hadn't realized he could get messages on this thing...that could be useful, since Jun had insisted he leave his phone behind at his family's compound. The message was from some island somewhere, sounded like they had messed up and let a bunch of pokemon loose and were asking for help. What caught Takumi's attention was the potential for these pokemon to be carrying around useful items. Hey, might be worth helping out, actually. The message noted that there were likely many located where Takumi was now, so he took to walking the meadow with Nala and Haunani while looking for fossil pokemon.
