He laughed, which didn't help him in his attempt to try and pass for a wounded expression. "Well that's just not fair," he finally remarked. "I can't be blamed for every little thing that's said about you. You just might be a popular person." Which was definitely plausible.
Cadenza grinned, stumbled back once more, and then stepped back up closer to Suzie; oh the difficulties that came with perpetual unsteadiness, not that Cadenza ever noticed. He always thought he was walking in a straight line. He waved to the chick, then leaned his head forward to look closer at her. Heather gave an impressed nod, then laughed again. Hehehe, 'swinging'. "Best of luck to you then! Lys and I just got our third badge, it was rather tough for us," she explained, face souring just a bit at the memory. She still needed to apologize to Legato for allowing him to faint like that. "I've gone to a few, when I was younger. But none recently," Heather confessed. "Thanks for reminding me though! I need to put that on my list of places to visit." Heather grew quiet a moment, "you should come visit sometime! We could give you and Melody a tour of the region!"
Heather held back from squealing, "I bet you have a wonderful singing voice, Melody." Lysander laughed, but not in response to what his sister had said, he was sure Melody sang fine. "No thanks. I'm more of an edgy, metallic four man group kind of fanboy." He nudged her back, expression now in a constant state of positivity; there, he was officially... content, amused at least. He looked over at Fabian, taking into account his sudden spike in excitement. He and Heather, together they were an.. exhausting force to behold. How they managed to be this excited about, well, anything, was beyond him.
Heather nodded her head, then reached up to brush her bangs out of her eyes. "Yeah, it sort of is! So I guess when we've become rich and famous, she'll be the first person we thank for it," she joked. Lysander nodded when he was addressed, short and quick. "Yeah. Not as much as Heather, but... yeah." Was Fabian going to ask him to sing? He hoped not. He wasn't exactly comfortable, singing in public. Stifling a yawn, Lysander looked around them at the luau, or what was left of it. It was clear that the residents were now packing up. "We should, probably, try and get a move on," he suggested, and indicated to the clean-up process with a jerk of his head. "Seems like they're trying to wrap this up."

"I guess you’re right," Melody remarked solemnly, a thoughtful expression crossing her face. "I’m not much for popularity though. I let you keep that." She gave a little smirk with her response, clearly amused at the thought.
Suzie chirped again, wings fluttering excitedly at Cadenza, lurching back only a little bit as the Spinda got rather close to observe her, her own head tilting from side to side as she did the same. She didn’t seem to be bothered that the other pokemon seemed to have a complete balance issue, instead interested in figuring out what the odd patterns that covered its body were.
Fabian blinked and frowned a bit at the sour expression that crossed Heather’s face. "Oh yeah? What happened?" He inquired absently, not seeming to consider that it might’ve been a rather sensitive topic. Melody shot him a bit of a look in response, though he missed it as he instead focused more on the conversation.
"Awww man, you are lucky!" Fabian lamented, a dreamy look appearing in his eyes. Really, he wished he was that fortunate. Sure, he got the chance to pal around with Melody and her father, but he tended to be… busy? Dragging kids with you to your studio sessions wasn’t something he was keen to do, nor had the availability to do.
"Oh yeah? That’d be awesome! Can we Melody? Wouldn’t that be awesome?!" Fabian chimed, clearly excited about the prospect as he looked to his friend.
"You look like a death metal man," Melody remarked with a joking tone of her own. She smiled a bit at Heather, going just a little red at the compliment. "Well thanks… I prefer my instruments though." She murmured a bit, focusing back on the situation at hand. "That’d probably be nice… sure we can weasel some free time to visit for that." Fabian had to avoid giving a little squeal cheer of joy at the admission to the potential tour-visit; if only to keep eardrums from bursting.
"You better! Gotta pay homage to them parent peeps before they revoke your rights or something," he remarked with another cheesy grin. Was that a thing parents could do? He hoped it wasn’t; his wouldn’t disown him he was certain, but you never knew. He grinned as Lysander answered his question, looking a bit excited. "That’s awesome man! Clearly, we should collab on a song or something! All of us! Bet that’d be awesome." Seriously, who knew what a small collective of talent could come up with! It didn’t even occur to him that the party around them was starting to break up. Melody did though.
"You’re right. It was fun while it lasted," she commented, looking around at the luau as well as it seemed to be clearing out before turning her attention to the pair. "Were you two heading anywhere specific? Or you just going to get back to your journey?"

Maybe you're just popular and don't even know it," he suggested. "The Melody Snyder fan club." He waved his hand through the air in an arch, emphasizing its wonder. Lysander turned back to the blonde, "sounds like a decent club, I'd join it."
Cadenza, understanding Suzie's goal, did his best to still his movement and become as statuesque as he could manage. Heather was always gushing about his pattern, something he didn't quite understand but appreciated all the same, so it made sense that Suzie might want to see it too. Maybe? Probably. Incapable of halting his movement for too long, it wasn't long before Cadenza was wobbling back and forth once more. He reached out to pat the top of the chick's head, in awe over how soft it looked.
Heather puffed out her cheeks before exhaling loudly, not upset about Fabian's question but, rather, the memory of the whole event. "We didn't train enough," she answered simply, once her cheeks had deflated. "Or, I guess, we didn't train enough as we needed to. Two of our pokemon fainted, and we had to rely on Lys' other pokemon to finish up the battle." She still felt bad about that. Up until that point, it had been a team effort to take down the gym's pokemon, but during that third gym battle... Lysander and his pokemon had to carry them the rest of the way. That didn't sit too well with Heather. She perked up soon enough, however, "so, the moral of the story, is to train as much as you can! And keep a ton of items on you," she advised sagely.
Lysander ran his fingers through his hair. "Why thank you. I'm thinking of dying my hair black though, to really cement my look." Heather grinned, though her eyes went wide. "You're very welcome! What do you play?" Though she hadn't said anything, it was clear from her body language that Heather was eagerly awaiting Melody's answer as well, and when given she clapped gleefully. "We'll have so much fun~" she gushed, already envisioning the sort of adventure the quartet would have; four was better than two, after all.
Heather laughed, but did her best to morph her expression into a serious one -- or at least as serious as she could manage. "I wouldn't want that to happen." In her case, since she was still a minor, that could very well still happen, though Heather doubted her mother would revoke her rights over something as minor as not mentioning her. "You make sure you do the same, Fabi. We wouldn't want your parents to, like, drag you back home or anything," she cautioned. Lysander, mulling over Fabian's suggestion, shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe. We'll have to see," he answered. Them singing and Melody on the drums? That, well... that actually sounded like a decent idea.
The siblings shared a look, which ended with Lysander shrugging before he turned back to Melody. "We actually hadn't decided what to do after this," he admitted. "Should probably get back to training though." Heather nodded in agreement. "Though we don't have to immediately head back for Kalos. Training can be done anywhere," she added. "What about you guys? What are you planning on doing?"

Melody rolled her eyes at Lysander’s remark of her being ‘popular’, doing her best to repress a smirk that threatened to cross her face. Instead she just gave him another playful shrug an eyebrow quirking. "Oh yeah? And would you be the leader in this fan club of one?" She smirked and shook her head. As amusing as the thought was, the last thing that Melody would allow is a fan club for herself. That was more Fabian’s style. Luckily, he was distracted with talking to Heather or else he might’ve never shut up on the idea.

It wasn't evident, put clearly she found the other pokemon amusing. She even attempted to imitate his odd gate, trying to walk her little legs in an odd fashion to copy his wiggling. She wasn't... quite able to pull it off though and simply ended up tripping herself several times in her attempt.
Fabian listened, expression briefly falling serious as Heather explained. "Ahhh… I got you, I got you," he nodded, tone sympathetic as he recalled that he’d been in a rather similar predicament not to long ago, "to be fair, I kinda had the same issue on the second gym too. Poor Seirra got knocked out-"
"-because you weren’t using your head is why." Melody interrupted, managing to catch the tail end of the conversation regarding what had happened, narrowing a disapproving look at Fabian as she spoke. He jumped and shot her a look like a deer caught in the head lights, hands flying up defensively.
"Shhh it was nothing like that!" He said defensively, frowning and dropping his hands. He hesitated a moment before looking at Heather a bit of a guilty look on his face. "It might’ve been that. Maybe." Melody rolled her eyes again, giving Heather a sympathetic head nod. She had faith that the siblings had probably been as tactful as possible with their battle compared to Fabian. Hopefully. They certainly seemed brighter.
Fabian resumed his chipper attitude though, grinning as he returned her sagely advice with a sagely nod of his own. "Yeah! Gotta train’em up. Get yourself a music montage for them too! Now that is how you get them pumped to train," he punched his fists in the air to visual the thought. A montage! That’d be awesome.
Returning to her own conversation, kind of, Melody face falling into a sort of ‘you cannot be serious’ kind of look, once more a laugh repressed. "… Wow. That’s a hard one to imagine," she remarked calmly, giving him the look a moment longer. "Just don’t go full emo band on me now. I might have to deny this friendship if you start wailing like a banshee."
"Naahhh… my parents are too busy pushing paperwork to do that to me, I think. They probably wouldn’t notice," he grinned. They did a lot with accounting and still had very little understanding of their son’s desires to be… a singer of all things. "But I’ll thank’em all the same!" Because whether they kicked him out or not, that was the proper thing to do. As the conversation wound down to moving on from the fading luau. A thoughtful expression crossed his face. That sounded like a solid plan and all, maybe they’d be able to tag along?
"Nope! I don’t think so. What was the plan Melody? Like… we got time to chill, right?" Fabian inquired, putting on a bit of a begging Growlithe puppy look as he directed his attention to her. "Riiigghhtt?" Melody gave him a bit of look, searching for hints of… well it was Fabian, there were a lot of things to question. She relented and shrugged.
"Mm…I guess. We could use the training too and I hear Alola’s nice so… might be worth looking around." Melody shrugged, looking to Lysander and Heather for confirmation. "Sure there’s some amazing sights and foods too… might be a nice break. You two sound like you deserve it."

"Probably," he decided, with just a hint of a smile. "Though the treasurer of club of one does sound a bit more tempting. I don't know if I could trust the other members with the club's funds." In all honesty, fan clubs were... worth a look into, at least; a group of people all sharing the same interest, what was wrong with that? Of course, he didn't know if he could join one built around Melody, or anyone he knew for that matter.
Cadenza watched in amusement as Susie performed her own little dance, and did his best to steady her when she looked as if she was going to fall, which went... as well as expected. He did manage, somehow, to untangle himself from the chick without toppling either of them over, a small miracle on its own, and once back on his feet he began to wiggle and wobble in an intricate set of moves; if Susie was going to try and dance, he might as well instruct her!
Heather, frowning once again, nodded along with Fabian, appreciating his sympathy. She listened inventively to his own harrowing tale of gym battles past, only to turn her head around to look at Melody when she interrupted to expound upon the story. Heather gave Fabian a simpering smile before patting his shoulder. "Hey, that's alright. This just means you'll do better next time," she suggested optimistically, and then to Melody she gave an appreciative look. On the bright side, at least they hadn't lost the gym battle. They'd just have to prepare themselves better next time.
"A music montage?" Heather's eyes widened and then brightened in wonder when Fabian uttered the two magical words, mind instantly flooded with all sorts of songs and motivational exercises that could included in a training montage. "That sounds like an amazing idea!" she exclaimed. "Would you want to help me find some songs to include in this montage?" Fabian seemed like a wise and worldly individual, surely he'd have a good idea or two.
Lysander eyed the chipper duo, unable to tell if they were serious about half the things mentioned, before he turned back to Melody. He chuffed at the look he gave her--which was unnecessary, he knew he could rock the black haired look--before rocking back on his heels. "C'mon Mel, I thought our friendship was strong enough to withstand even the most angst-y and depressing emo bands." He shook his head in sorrow, before adopting the most dejected look he could manage. "...I can already feel my soul withering away at the thought," he sighed, doing his best to make the exhale as loud and dramatic as he could manage.
"Oh? What do your parents do?" Of the very little she knew of Fabian, Heather was already having a hard time imagining his parents as the office sorts; a wild and excitable person like the 'Fabulous Fabi' could only come from people of a similar disposition, right? Heather still managed to grin, even while she tried to imagine Fabian's parents. "That's good! Every good singer ought to respect their parents. I'm pretty sure it's one of those unspoken rules," Heather insisted confidently. Moving on to a discussion of their traveling plans, the redhead waited eagerly to see if she and her brother would be leaving the luau with company, and when it was confirmed she gave a cheer.
"Alright~ No use in sticking around any longer then, let's get a move on! C'mon Cadenza!" Motioning for her partner to follow along, Heather took it upon herself to take the lead out of Iki Town, with one hand shot out into the air to act as a beacon to follow behind. Lysander, who watched to make sure Heather didn't get too far ahead, shook his head before he looked at Melody. "Thanks for coming with us," he remarked genuinely, addressing both her and Fabian. "Heather could use some time with other people." She was a social Butterfree, so spending time with Melody... and Fabian, would do her a bit of good. Him too, he supposed, but mostly Heather.

"Oh? I guess that is a more impressive title," Melody conceded, a sly smirk crossing her face. "Aren’t they usually in charge of raising funds too, sometimes? I can only imagine how you running a bake sale would go…," she mused. It was a humorous thought, this talk of fan clubs and all that came with them. She could only imagine how they really worked.
Susie gave an appreciative chirp as Cadenza assister her in righting herself after her own failed dance attempt; not seeming bothered that, in reality, the help resulted in a tangled mess. Her little wings fluttered excitedly before going still and watching in awe as the Spinda resumed the mesmerizing dance that just seemed to come naturally. She just couldn’t fathom how he managed to move so smoothly! She paid special attention as she did, trying to memorize his stance and movement just to get that sway thing down.
Fabian gave an appreciative smile as Heather patted his shoulder, grateful at least that Melody’s ‘interruptive information’ didn’t seem to paint him in a bad light. He gave an affirmative nod, followed by a double pistol point. "Of course! We’ll help each other be more prepared!" He said, grin wide on his face. He chuckled as Heather went wide eyed at his suggestion, hands on his hips in pride. "Of course! We gotta have that wide selection, don’t we? I’d love to see what you’ve got to offer!"
Melody just quirked an eyebrow, watching Lysander with a force blank expression before her eyes absently rolled at his little act. "… You poor baby," she snickered, shaking her head. "Well at least you have material for your first emo-song now. You can thank me later."
"They’re… accountants." Fabian answered, looking a little ‘blah’ about that answer. It was always hard to admit that fact; they really… were as square as possible. Something he tried not to mull on. He snapped out of that thinking though, chuckling a little. "Yeah, they should! I mean… seems like a safe idea…," It sounded like a safe idea, right? He wasn’t even sure why he was worried about it being a safe idea to be honest.
Fabian punched the air in delight; alright awesome musical travelling plans! Well, mostly travelling music would come later. "You heard the lady, Susie! Let’s go!" He called, looking to the Torchic who was already eagerly following after Cadenza and Heather, the young man following suit, though not failing to notice the odd swaying Susie seemed to have going.
Melody watched before falling in step to start walking, glancing back at Lysander curiously before offering a smile. "No problem," Melody raised a hand, gently patting his arm, Fabian shooting a look back and smiling before resuming his pace. "It’s nice to hang with friends… and it distracts Fabi so… I welcome it." She dropped her hand, head tilting a bit. "So, how are things for you two anyways? Not counting the trainer business?"

Huey wasn't sure how it had happened, or when, but somewhere along the way a 'few minutes' had turned into a few hours; hours of festivities, luau appropriate food, and an over brimming atmosphere of joy. It had been a while since the young boy had been able to enjoy himself in a large crowd, and not have to worry about anything other than the ongoings of the event, so it'd been easy to get himself caught up. It helped that his pokemon had enjoyed themselves just as much as he, and knowing they were able to relax had only encouraged him to stay just five minutes longer. But then five minutes had turned to ten minutes, and ten minutes to fifteen, and then twenty, and then thirty, and then...
But, like all good things, the luau had to come to an end, which, in all actuality, was rather fortunate for Huey. He couldn't stay in Iki Town forever. But, at the same time, he didn't want to leave the islands just yet, not when he didn't know when he'd be able to visit again. Huey stifled a yawn as he recalled the majority of his pokemon to their pokeballs, save for Cloud, and then made his way to the edge of the town. "Huebert, Huebert! Can I see your communicator thingy now? I want to talk to Cheri again!" asked an excited Cloud from down below, not showing a hint of weariness even after hours of dancing. "Oh, uh, sure." Seeing no reason to deny him, Huey obliged his pokemon and handed him the communicator, prompting an excited squeal from the Togepi.
Huey left Cloud to his devices, mind already elsewhere. He knew that he wanted to explore Alola a bit more, but he had no idea where to even begin or where he ought to go from here; two important steps in any adventurer's guidebook, and something he should've figured out before he'd started moving again. Though, he was, technically, still within the town's limits. There was nothing stopping him from turning back around and asking for directions. Not until a shadow swept across him, causing him to look up to the sky. Huey's eyes widened as he watched a familiar figure circle the area directly above him before landing, Staraptor, after tucking her feathers in, greeted Huey and Cloud with a sharp cry.
"She says hello!" Cloud translated, head still bent towards the communicator. "Oh! Hello again! I thought you had left already." Huey gave the bird a smile, pleased to see her so soon. "But what are you doing back here?" Staraptor cocked her head to the side, before her sharp eyes turned to Cloud. "She would like, for the time being, to continue aiding you in your travels. She likes you. -- That means she'll keep flying us, Huebert! We're gonna soar in the clouds again!" While amused at his pokemon's excitement, Huey couldn't help but to worry some. "Won't your trainer miss you though?" he asked, unwilling to tear, or even put a potential strain on, a bond between trainer and pokemon. "Nyope! She says that she doesn't have an actual trainer. So it's all good!" Came Cloud's, perpetually cheerful, telepathy.
If that was the case.... "Well, okay! Thank you for offering." Huey wasn't about to think twice about the offer, especially not when it'd come at a perfect time as this. The boy, fixing his bag across his back, climbed back onto Staraptor, as he'd grown accustom to do, before he turned around to look at Cloud, who was still on the ground tapping away. "C'mon Cloud," he urged. "Coming~" Two more taps, a pause, and then three taps and Cloud was finished. He skipped over to Staraptor, holding tightly to the communicator, and hopped onto the bird (with some help from his trainer). When both were settled in, the bird took off into the skies, their destination to be decided.
Text to Cheri: Hellooooooo my pink friend! How are you? Did you miss me? I missed you! I was at this party, with toooons of food. It was really good, but there wasn't any ice cream. I danced a lot, and with Beep too! It was fun! I wish you had been there, we could have eaten food together! Are you a good dancer? Do you like to dance? I love dancing, it's my favorite thing to do!

Sullivan touched down in Melemele Island, right back in the center of Iki Town. The Luau had long since cleared out, but he wasn’t bothered; it wouldn’t be long before another festival found its way into the sights of the local Alolan populace. Practically any day could be made a celebration around these parts.
The young man and his Rockruff slipped off the back of the Braviary, Sullivan giving the bird a wide grateful grin followed with a pat to the beak. He reached for the ball and paused, seeming to consider something before looking to the bird and signing something curiously. He certainly didn’t want to store the pokemon away so soon; the flight wasn’t all that long. Inoke understood and gave soft chirp of his own, taking up to the skies as an indicator that he was more than happy to take in the tropical breeze a bit longer.
Good. Sullivan chuckled quietly to himself before turning and glancing down at a yapping Junpei. The rock puppy seemed just as excited to get moving onto the next challenge. Of course, that required a little searching first… a potential obstacle really. Locating the kahuna would require questioning and of course that meant communication.
He sighed and took a moment to completely some last minute preparations with his pokemon before immediately fishing out his pen and journal, flipping to a spare page and scribbling the message that he would inevitably be asking of each individual he ran across.

Once the message was prepped and he was back in his shoes (or had them tied at least, he didn’t go riding Inoke in rollerblades unless he needed to get movely quickly once he’d hopped off), Sullivan was off harassing (well ‘asking’) the locals if they knew where the kahuna was. Most were unaware of where Hala was at the moment; the kahuna had a thing for wandering about on different little tasks without bothering to inform anyone. The only one who might’ve had an idea was his grandson and that boy was off on an adventure of his own.
Maintaining his resolve, Sullivan eventually found an individual that was able to lead him to the kahuna of Melemele. The man was in town, regaling some small children with an intense story concerning the Tapus. A solid moment of lip reading and Sullivan was able to discern the story himself; he’d heard all of them at least twice in his life. Eventually the story winded down to it’s finally and the two were able to meet. Luckily the person who’d assisted him in finding the kahuna was also kind enough to speak on his behalf and with a grin, Hala was more than willing to accept the challenge.
Soon they found their way back to the battling circle practically in the center of the small town, with Sullivan on one side and Hala on the other. The young man prepared himself, giving Junpei a knowing glance and even looking above just to make sure Inoke was about in case he needed to call on him. He felt confident he could handle it, but you never knew…

Hala laughed, heartily and loudly, with his head back and one hand on his hip. "Now that's a battle!" he proclaimed, stamping one foot proudly on the battle circle. Around them, the few villagers who'd gathered around to watch the challenge agreed merrily, smiles of their own taking positions onto their visages. "Tapu Koko ought to be thrilled," the older man mused. Before he could get too carried away, the Kahuna doled out the usual round of rewards to Sullivan, stamping his book first before he handed over an orange rock, a fist folded in determination decorated across its surface. "Keep up the good work, young man! I can see you and your team going far! Now, pay close attention," he encouraged, right before falling into the customary dance that would turn the Z-crystal from an ordinary rock into a powerful battle item. Afterwards, still all grins, Hala nodded at Sulli.

Sullivan went a tiny bit red in the face in pride as he deciphered the Kahuna's words. There was really no bigger praise than being tolda that the Tapu's of the islands would find favor in one's actions. It was entirely that difficult of a battle sure (he might've been a little overpowered, just a bit) but the Kahuna seemed happy and that was good enough for him.
He took his winnings, tucking them away before quickly fished out his note journal, jotting down simple forms of the moves as the Kahuna performed. At about this point he had, what, four different dances acquired so far? He'd want to take some time at some point to practice and commit them fully to memory least something happen along the way that he couldn't refer to his book. giving the man a big grin and a bow of gratitude, before hopping down the stairs and making his way for the nearest resting spot to top off his team after their battle. He was proud of both his pokemon; though Mana still seemed rather annoyed at getting punched about and let her trainer know with a flurry of feathers to the face befdore perching up in a nearby tree out of reach. Hani was a little shook as well, though not nearly as antagonistic towards Sullivan as Mana and stayed in place as the man administered a few potion sprays to bring him back up in health, giving a tiny growl-grunt of thanks to him.
Well, at least someone was thankful. Hani didn't seem like he would be nearly the struggle to train as Mana. That was the nature of pokemon though, huh? They each had their own personalities and as a trainer, it was his job to figure it out and establish a relationship with them from their. Which.... given his track record, 5/7 wasn't too bad?

With his team restored to their full health, Sullivan took a moment to stand back and consider his next course of action. He could always head to the next island challenge, which he was fairly certain was located down in the jungle area in the middle of Akala Island. He was already here after all…
His thoughts were interrupted though at a vibrating feel at his wrist. Flicking his hand around to check, he quirked an eyebrow at the text message that was displayed, caught a bit by surprise. Normally, if he got messages, it was from the twins or Hannah. Sometimes Levi dropping in to tell him his mother needed something.
This time though, it was directly from the lady who’d brought him into this world herself.

How’s my baby doing? I just got word that you beat the Kahuna of Melemele! You’re really taking those trials to heart, aren’t you? I wouldn’t expect any less from you. I think we should celebrate, what do you say?
Even though it wasn’t a call or anything, Sullivan couldn’t help but shift in place in embarrassment, heat in his cheeks again for a moment. His mom was usually pretty busy, even with the new family and help from his step-dad, so having her actually make time to reach out and acknowledge his accomplishments in such a short period of time (it felt like a short amount of time to him anyways) and actually want to celebrate was pretty big.
Of course, that’s how she was; she’d been nothing but supportive since he was young so why he’d be surprised in this instance was a mystery. It was just… nice. He took a moment to think about it before immediately sending a return text to his mother agreeing to meet up for a little celebratory lunch. There was no way he was not going to do it after all. With a grin, Sullivan snatched up his things, retrieving his pokeballs and returning Mana and Hani (for the time being) before scooping Junpei into his arms and letting Inoke loose. The Braviary ruffled his feathers, noting the rather jubilant look his trainer was sporting, sensing from his energy that he was in a good mood. He didn’t hesitate to let the pair mount up then and after double checking the response from his mom, gave the appropriate signals to the bird to make his way towards Heahea City.

Realizing that he might not make the best impression, running into the town with a group of pokemon following behind him, Naomi altered his pace into clipped steps; showing that he was in a hurry to reach his destination, but not in any sort of danger. Upon his arrival, the foreigner took the time to take in the town, small and a naturalist's paradise, before he went about trying to find Hala. The residents were kind enough to point him in the direction of the Kahuna's house, able to discern his reason for searching out the man, though on his way there Naomi found himself distracted by two young children playing with a Rockruff. It was an adorable sight, and alluring enough to pull him in and join the children in their play -- if only long enough to exchange names, including the pokemon's, and to give the Rockruff a much deserved pet. What a friendly species!
His detour, while not the most time consuming, was long enough that he didn't even have to seek out Hala -- the man found him, after hearing that a trial-goer had been asking about him. "I see you're making friends here." Hala approached Naomi with a grin, assessing the teen and his pokemon from where he stood. "Excellent! It's always good to familiarize yourself with the crowd before a battle begins." Naomi, wearing his own grin, couldn't help but to quirk an eyebrow. Crowd? "Follow me to the town's stage, we'll have a battle grand enough to please Tapu Koko itself!" While not following what exactly it was the Kahuna was saying, he did physically follow the man into the center of town, brimming with excitement.
What little he did understand, he did know that they were about to battle. Which was good, because that was exactly what he'd come for!

"Bwaha! What a powerful pokemon! It's got the island spirit, that's for sure!" Hala laughed, hand on his belly. Beaming, he lowered it back to his side, and strode forward, drawing it back out to reveal Naomi's prizes. "Congratulations, you've taken your step towards completing the island challenge!" he praised, handing over the winnings, before adding, "And here, fightinium Z-- now watch, and let me show you how it's used!"
Naomi Received: - Melemele Trial Completion stamp - Fightinium Z + 30 exp. to Tomoe
Eyes dilated with excitement, Naomi did his best to watch Hala as he performed the dance move needed to activate the Fightnium Z, and afterwards tried the move himself. “Like this?” He tried not to smile, in an attempt to show his determination, as he spread his legs, crossed his hands at the wrist, then threw out several punches into the air, before throwing out one, last, right hook. Hala nodded his head in approval, bushy eyebrows raised as he kept his grin. Of course, he’d have to move much quicker if he wanted to actually activate it, but he’d gotten it down pact. After putting away the rest of his items into his bag Naomi climbed down from the battle stage, where he was greeted by the rest of his pokemon and the crowd of villagers that’d gathered to watch the battle. The next few minutes were filled with congratulations from strangers and the trainer introducing his team to the curious children, and a few adults as well. By the time he was able to pull himself away the teen felt more than welcome within the village, and even more proud of his accomplishment.
With some time to himself, Naomi checked in with Tomoe, the hero of the hour. “You were amazing, Tomoe!” he gushed, holding out a finger so that the miniscule bug could land on it. “When we get to the city, you will have the biggest malasada -- or, as big as you want!” Considering how small she was -- wait, could she even eat a malasada? Naomi hummed to himself as he considered his pokemon’s diet, and potential dietary restrictions, before shaking his head gently; he could worry about that when they got to Hau’oli!
