User ImageAndhiya'o was bored, which had been a chronic problem for the restless malcontent for as long as she could remember. Joining the Stormborn and becoming a Reaver had helped immensely and given her a much-needed outlet, as did having a thrall to entertain herself with, but it had been awhile since her last viking, and she was starting to get antsy. Bossing around and further breaking in Malaika was all well and good, but it wasn't the same as a real fight. Whether he didn't know how to fight in the first place, was a pacifist, or had just given up already - or some combination of those - there was no resistance, no challenge. Taking out her frustrations on him was a passing amusement at best; she needed someone who would really put up a fight.

Brawling with another Reaver was a viable option, but even that wasn't quite doing it for her today. She wanted someone with a real reason to fight, something to lose or gain, which meant facing a challenger seeking to gain entrance into the pride; she'd done it herself as an adolescent, and chewed up Mahewa's tough old hide.

The small, dark lioness stepped forward and gave the challenger a brief looking-over, brown-tufted tail flicking impatiently. "So. We doin' this or what?"

Well, Oirfideach Fáin's first challenge hadn't gone so well. He'd lost, of course, but he also had the feeling that the Reaver had gone easy on him. It felt a little touched in the head to be disappointed at coming away with bruises and hardly a scratch, but there it was. It wasn't like he wanted to be shredded, but he did want to actually earn his way in...even if he'd been grateful for it at the time. The Reaver that faced him today didn't look inclined to hold back. This was probably a good thing. Possibly bad, if he lost again.

There was something almost vaguely familiar about her...but nah. Not really.

"Ready when you are," he said smoothly, attempting to assume a battle-ready stance. Maybe at the end of the day, he'd know what the inside of this place looked like.

He was a bit funny-looking, this one, light mane and dark belly and bright purple legs; how fortunate for him that color didn't mean anything here. It was all muscle, strength, and skill - did he have any? They'd find out soon enough. Regardless, this was going to be so much more satisfying than just beating up on Malaika.

"We'll see about that," Andhiya'o said with a fanged grin, claws flexing into the soil in anticipation before she charged straight at the stranger; though the style didn't truly suit her size, she was a brawler, with no subtlety and little cleverness in the way she fought.

...Woah.

He'd never seen a lioness smile like that before, and it was more than a little frightening. Fain had little time to let that fear get a grip on him, though, for she was charging at him in a flash. Spirits, he hardly had time to brace for impact! Small or not, she knocked the wind out of him and almost toppled him over. Attempting to turn the tables, he tried to grapple with her, digging in his heels for a hard shove. He knew he couldn't keep this up for long...sooner or later she was going to rip him apart in close quarters, or take a piece out of his face, or both.

Just one good shove to give him room for a proper strike...

Andhiya'o would have been more than happy to take a piece out of him, as while it was hardly a life-or-death match, no good fight ended without blood. But his hard shove did work, skewing her balance and forcing her to correct; though her size limited her strength, though, it at least made her quick, and she bounced away and sprang again, claws seeking whatever purchase they could find in his flesh, the deeper the better. Whether he got in or not, she wanted to make sure he had scars to remember her by.

The young Reaver was all offense, no defense, leaving him plenty of opportunity for a good strike against her if he was quick enough.
