[Gwarredd is a guard here - waiting on cert.]

The pair had encountered their first wall. Anju had started a family, without him, some would say but he didn't look at it that way. Instead he had embraced the life of a Father and instead hoped for their future. This future included the family they had together and perhaps cubs of their own? The thought had always been with him, though he wouldn't admit to most anyone else. Before she had broke the news to him that he was going to be a Father he never even thought of it, considered the possibility - nothing. There was no reason at that point, they didn't have a steady home or much of a future, just each other. Most would consider that enough, but he knew what it was like to grow up without structure. His Mother had provided well enough, but she couldn't provide it all.

"Home."

The word seemed almost foreign when he had first said it upon arriving here, but each day he felt better about it. The black leopard stood and walked from their home, leaving behind an empty den. Anju, he presumed, was already up and about. He was late to starting his guardly duties, but he had had a long night. Even now he hadn't gotten much sleep, things were always on his mind. Some days had been better than others. Today was actually a decent day.

Soon he was taking himself to a common path, seeking out his beloved.

User ImageThe day was pleasant and she had been out looking for potentials to join the pride but hadn't much luck on that today. Which was okay with her, though at the same time she wanted new faces within the prides boarders. The thought of helping get the numbers to grow gave her a sense of pride. Though she had already helped that with her and Safuraas offspring. She had feared the whole thing would be awkward but it hadn't been which had been a huge relief to her. And the kids had two father figures to look up to. One being their biological father and the other their adoptive one. Whom she loved dearly.

Flicking her tail behind her she entered into the outskirts of the lands and figured she'd make a quick once around to see if anyone was lurking before she headed back towards the inland. The place was so peaceful it was almost a dream to her. There wasn't a better place to raise a family and be part of in her mind. It was secluded and well taken care of, not to mention they had decent enough numbers already. Life was good and they finally had a place to call home.

It felt odd to be able to say it. "Home." She whispered to herself, a small smile forming across her lips. Though the fact she had a family to call her own was her proudest achievement. She wouldn't change that for anything.

Circling the pride wasn't too hard to do, despite everything it wasn't too large of a place, which was nice. It made it easier for the guards to protect. Speaking of, her mate was one and she looked around. She wondered if he was out and about and began to look around, wondering if she'd run into him.

The black leopard peered to the sky, it was on cloudless days like these that he truly appreciated the world around him. The sun blazed above and warmed his pelt and meanwhile, below, the grass cooled his paws.

Immediately upon getting to the paths used by most guards he began to look around for Anju. It wasn't long before he spotted her pink/green rump swaying about. Her head was moving around, likely seeking him out as well. Amused he began to approach her.

"Anju!"

As luck would have it he spotted her before she him and his voice made her turn around as he called out her name. She gave him a smile and watched as the black leopard with the pink butterfly markings approached. She couldn't help but admire him-he was so wonderful and all hers. More importantly she was his in return. She had never known a feeling like the one she held for him and she smiled as she took a few steps to close the distance between them.

Rubbing her face against the side of his with a purr in her throat she greeted him. "Hello Gwarredd." She pulled back to look at him. "See anyone today?" She asked, it was likely he hadn't but it was always fun to see if she was wrong. She wondered what the kids were up to, though they weren't exactly kids anymore. She still saw them that way regardless and they hated it, she knew but what else was a mother for.

Gwarredd took in the vision of a leopardess before him with a foolish grin. Any who had met them knew they were haplessly in love with one another and it wasn't like anything could come between them, not anything they had faced yet so far anywho.

Upon her touch he was purring uncontrollably and took a moment to rest against her before she left his touch to speak. "No, unfortunately I hadn't stumbled across anyone. One day I'll have an exciting story to share." The black leopard spoke the truth - he had hoped every morning that he'd wake up to find someone about their lands. This was a timid hope as he knew that outsiders could mean trouble, not that their pride attracted violence. In fact it attracted quite the opposite.

"Anyone yourself?"

He assumed if she had been asking him that she hadn't had an eventful day yet either, but perhaps she was being polite.

She caught the look in his eye and she gave him a shy smile. "What?" She asked him with a smile and a small laugh in her voice. She was only jesting with him, but it was still fun. "I'm sure you will too. Hopefully it's not when we both have grey fur and you're telling our great grandkids about some wild fish tale." She said humorously.

Letting out a small huff she wrinkled her nose up. "No, cannot say that I have." She looked around for a moment. "I would like to find some more bodies to join the pride so it could grow in numbers." Not that they were small in number, they just weren't that large either. She hoped that they'd eventually have more life upon the lands. It was such a beautiful place, it deserved to be remembered.

She looked at him and gave him an eyebrow raise. "I may have a proposition for you."

The pair were forever teasing one another and he was happy to count today as one of those days. Gwarredd couldn't have wished for a better companion in life even if he tried.

"Oh I sure hope it won't take that long to have a tale to tell!" He proclaimed with a hearty laugh. If it took him that long to see anything interesting than he might as well call it a day now while he was ahead. It didn't appear that his mate was having much luck either though, so all was well in his world for the time being.

"I couldn't agree with you more - the higher the number counts, the better chance at our home being a success."

Gwarredd smiled warmly at his mate and then raised a brow at her final words. "A proposition?" Now his curiosity was getting the better of him.

Isn't she telling him she's pregnant? I don't remember,
but I'm going to say that's it.

They had a grown family together, while they weren't his he had raised them as his own and she couldn't have asked for more from him. "How do you feel about being a father?" She wondered how he might respond, there was a double meaning to her question but she was going to wait to go on with her thoughts.

She knew the pride needed more members and it was just pure chance that they would have the opportunity to do just that, though not in the way one might have originally thought.

A dark brow rose at the 'proposition'. "A Father?" His facial features eased into a soft smile, but excitement lit up his eyes. "You know how I feel about family, and ours in particular." Gwarredd always felt so calm around her, had they not chosen this as their home he was certain he would feel at home where ever he was - so long as she was with him.

"How would you feel about being a mother again?" Not realizing the true depth of the question he played along quaintly with a question of his own. The pair had played mother and father to Anju's previous litter. Gwarredd loved them like they were his own and made a point of being amicable with their blood father - it was important to him that the father be involved. He would have wanted to be if it were the other way around...

"Wait.. Anju." The pieces of the puzzle started to form a picture. "Are you trying to tell me something?" He wondered the question out loud to his spouse. His golden gaze didn't leave her for a moment to try and catch a glimpse of her own reaction.
