Hikaru: -smiles when they share a small kiss- [aw].

Roy and Riza look a bit surprised bc they didn't know they were together. Even when thus mentioned fenrir was their son, they just thought they were serious pet lovers or something. They take up the rear following after cloud and fenrir.

Riza: "so, can your....son really find them?" -seems hesitant about saying the word "son". Not sure why, it just seems weird to her.

Roy: -listens -

Once they leave after them, Hikaru turns to Tseng.

Hikaru: "well this sucks....."

:As far as tracking goes, there seems to be no noise being made by any four legged animals. And as for the scent, there is no direct scent the wolves had. The only thing he may smell is foul smell of blood lingering slightly. It takes them over water and through mud. Around trees and under logs. Eventually there is a cliff that looks like a drawbridge is present, except they are on the wrong side of the cliff to use it. This is where the trail takes them. A dead end of sorts If you will...;

Roy: "Hmmm....it looks like someone is using this to their advantage here. And keeping trespassers out..."

Riza: -steps by the cliff looking down- "there could be another way in, but I can't tell from here. "

Tseng: -stands for a bit after they leave, glances at Hikaru but says nothing because he's too dignified and mature to make casual comments about his personal feelings on the situation and he's been in plenty that were similar or worse, then turns to the group of worried people left behind, hobbles over to them with his hand extracted slightly in a calming gesture- "It's going to be alright, everyone. We'll find out what happened to our friends. For right now we all need to stay together, stay calm, and stay alert. It seemed to target females, so all the women and girls who are left, come over here away from the woods. I need the rest of you to help me keep watch." -has his srs leader face on, taking over things in Mustang's absence-

:: He seems weak at first, limping along, but he's very confident and has a strong voice. Even if he's injured, they can see that he's unafraid. He has fierce dark eyes and a proud, graceful stance even though he keeps the weight off his right knee. The people borrow some of his inner strength as the elderly, kids and injured huddle together behind the rocks and the younger and stronger guys go where he tells them to keep watch. ::

Fenrir: -noses around the bushes, looks up at Cloud- 0o.

Cloud: "Find the girls, Fenrir."

Fenrir: -turns like ah, in that case, and snuffles about; it's because he couldn't find the scent of the wolves but he can smell the girls they took away, especially where their arms brushed leaves on the way by and so on-

Cloud: -follows him, glances at Riza, then looks back to where he's walking- "I don't know. But he'll try."

Fenrir: -grumbles in frustration when the trail does funny things and confuses him, he pauses for a while trying to figure out what happened-

Black crow: -swoops down and lands on a tree branch above them- ...

Cloud: -glances at it, then goes after Fenrir-

Fenrir: -follows the trail until it crosses the river, then swims across and noses around the other side trying to pick up the trail again, apparently they did the trick where you get in water, go down/upstream and then cross or get back out on the same bank instead of going straight across and he's trying to find it again-

Cloud: -stands and waits for Fenrir to get his bearings back, glances up and sees another black crow on a branch nearby- ..........

:: Fenrir manages to keep finding the trail each time it pulls some trickery, but it does take a bit of time and Cloud knows the longer it takes, the further their target is getting from them. ::

Black crow: -glides down and lands on a branch by them when they stop again to wait on Fenrir to find the trail- ...

Cloud: >__> -starting to think they are being followed by a bird, but just as he's thinking that's ridiculous Fenrir finds the trail and they're off again-

Black crow: ... -flies off when the party starts moving again-

Fenrir: -stops at the drawbridge and stares at it- ....

Cloud: -comes up beside him- "The island is inhabited..."

Fenrir: -turns to Cloud- "Skreeeeeee!"

Cloud: -narrows his eyes a little- ? -stares at him-

Fenrir: -stares back at him-

:: They have a... strange... moment, of just gazing intensely at each other, then Cloud looks up as the black crow flies over them and across the cliff to the other side, to...whatever is over there (more trees? a castle? a volcano?) ::

Roy and Riza stop when needed and take in the scenery memorizing the path and landmarks. When they come to the river Riza notices the crow but thinks nothing more than a bird resting on the trees. Once they keep going and they get to the drawbridge she once again notices the bird.

Roy: -seems a bit surprised- "I wasn't expecting the island to be inhabited. This could prove troublesome. "

Riza: -watches the bird fly off- "It's probably best to assume this place is where the girls are. It's a start at least." -looks over at cloud- "any ideas?"

Hikaru: -is very impressed with tsengs sudden ability to overtake the situation and take control. She hesitantly joins the group of women but something else is on her mind. Rather someone actually. Although there is no reason whatsoever why she should be worried about her siren friend, she does want to go see him, even tell him the crazy things that happening and ask if he knows anything. She is certain Tseng will disapprove if she asks to go considering the situation. So the only thing to do here, is sneak off. Once he is completely distracted that is. -

:: Tseng is a responsible leader but he's just human. He has no special powers. He does his best to look after everyone but he can't see in all directions at once if Hikaru decides to sneak off. Also, she's not a child, and if she does take off, it's her own choice and her own responsibility. He isn't her mother, after all. There are one or two actual small children who survived the shipwreck and he fondly keeps an eye on them, probably no surprise since, if he's partnered with a man, obviously he can't have any of his own. Those who overheard the way Cloud and Tseng refer to Fenrir as their son don't find it so weird anymore after catching them in mid-smooch a bit ago. If they're a same-sex couple, they can't have natural children, so it's not odd that they adopted a pet to complete their family. There are only one or two people stupid enough to have issue with that part, while everyone else is too concerned with the wolves and being STRANDED ON AN EFFING ISLAND to care about who sleeps with who, even those who used to be appalled by the thought of it have learned that hey, there are much bigger things to worry about. ::

Cloud: -stares out across the ravine, looks down below to see how high up it is and what is down there (a river, a valley, forest, etc?), then looks back across-

Fenrir: "Skreeeeeeeeee."

Cloud: "I know." -seems to be answering Fenrir-

As he looks down he can see a small ravine with lots of big rocks. It's a looong way down that's for sure.

Riza: "Looks like we may have to find another way, or possibly hide until they come back. " -not sure if they will pick up on their scents since they are animals. -

Roy: "Looks that way. So, you seem to know what he means. What exactly is he meaning if I may ask?"

Riza: -looks curious as well-

Hikaru: -gets bored and does eventually sneak off, knowing the way a little better by daylight, makes it easier for her to find her way. Along the way she picks some oranges she remembered Demyx mentioning and grabs a few lose coconuts that fell off the nearby trees. She approaches the waterfall and wonders if she should "fall " into his living room again. -

Cloud: "He said we have to fly." -stares out across the ravine-

Fenrir: "Skree." .3.

Roy: I'm sorry, what?

Riza; did you say, fly? -looking at him like he's crazy-

Hikaru: -lays down the fruit and coconuts and decides a cannonball is in order here. She takes off her shoes/socks/top and pants, and with just her undergarments on backs up and runs toward the water and jumps off perfecting a cannonball right into the water-

:: Hikaru does scare the crap out of Demyx along with everything else that lived in his pool. Fish fly everywhere. He darts to the bottom among the rocks where he hides when startled and grabs his sitar, ready to pummel whatever monster is coming to eat his tail. .____. ::

Cloud: -reaches in pocket, takes out shiny red materia ball and looks at it as though there is some complicated memory behind it- ... ... ... -holds it out and it glows, summons the Phoenix-

:: A huge giant firebird appears in a shower of sparks and sparkles and spreads out its wings, creating a rainbow briefly as it screams like a hawk. Tseer! It flaps its wings twice and lands on the edge of the cliff. ::

Cloud: -glances at the others- "Hop on."

Roy and Riza stand wide eyed! The look of shock is very clear on their faces as they have never seen anything like this before.

Roy: -somehow threw his arm around Riza in a panic sort of state.-

Riza: TT; -gently removes his arms and continues to stare at this beast. -

Hikaru: -swims up to the surface not realizing she may still get pummeled with musical instrument. - "nice and refreshing" -her feet kick slowly as she floats -

Demyx: -peeks over his rock- ._______. -sees some familiar legs kicking above- <____< ................ -puts sitar away, decides to get revenge for that little scare; slithers silently up from below, grabs her ankle and pulls her under Jaws-style; just pulls her straight down and under then lets go-

Cloud: "It only lasts a short while after I summon it. Hurry up." -awkward socially-handicapped Cloud doesn't know what else to say-

Fenrir: "Skree!" :3

Phoenix: -crouches down and lowers its wings, offering its back for Roy and Riza to ride double at the base of its neck-

Roy: -seems uneasy -

Riza: -pushes him along- "let's go. "

They both climb aboard, Roy still seems uneasy as Riza slips on behind him, ensuring he won't fall.

Hikaru: -gets a scare as she gets a very short scream before going under and coming back up. - TT

Demyx: "You scared the bejeezus out of me! All this roaring and howling and creepy things in the bushes and then you come crashing down through the ceiling...! It's not nice, you know!" >>; -floats next to her looking hilariously befuddled; back in his proper form with his tail-

:: The Phoenix stands up. Fenrir and Cloud each grab a leg as it pushes off and spreads out its massive wings and glides over the ravine to the other side and past the drawbridge. ::

Fenrir: -sniffs the wind and screes-

Cloud: "Where are they, Fenrir?"

Fenrir: -points to the mountain- "Skree!"

Cloud: "Let's go!"

:: The giant firebird carries them as far as it can before its summon time runs out, then it lands at wherever you want them to be for the next part of their quest. ::

Cloud: -pockets the red materia ball once they are safe on the ground again (( you decide how close or far it was able to take them )) then glances up, does a double-take and looks again, stares at the black crow watching him from a tree branch-

Fenrir: -already snuffling about for clues, either a scent or track or some other alien sense he has-

Hikaru: "well you scared me so we are even. I cane to fill you in on all that, but now I have to wait for my heart to calm down." -does have a hand over her heart, giggles a bit when she sees his befuddled expression -

Roy: -hates flying, he looks disheveled. -
Riza: -strokes his back comfortingly- what was that?

Not expecting them to overcome the drawbridge, doesn't look like they tried to hide scents anymore. But now looking out in front of them, they landed in between what looks like a second forest behind the first one they flew over. It looks dark and scary. There is an eerie feeling about it....

:: They follow Fenrir into the dark forest, expecting to run into Ents and giant spiders and elves and every other scary thing from LOTR. By now, a few hours have passed. The sun is high and the beach is hot where Tseng waits for them. Nothing has happened there since the search party left, so Tseng sends a few guys out to find some food and bring back fresh water, and that's when he notices that Hikaru is gone. Since she was a girl, and the wolves came to take away girls, everyone panics, thinking the foul beasts crept in behind their backs and made off with her. He redoubles their security, keeping everyone together with a sharp watch. He tries to call Cloud but the salt water killed their phones. ::

Tseng: -stomps around angrily the best he can stomp with his weak leg- "Now would be a find time to have a magic ram." -grumbling to himself-

Person 1: "Huh?"

Tseng: "Keep looking! There must be some sign of her, tracks, anything!" -waves his arm-

:: The guys can out in search of her. ::

Demyx: "Fill me in on what? Did something happen?"

Hikaru: -climbs out of water- "Hmmmm, how bad do you want to know?" -gives him a teasing smile while water drips off her-

Meanwhile as the sunset high in the forest, it doesn't get any lighter. In fact it's just the opposite, it only gets darker and eerier. Unclear Whispers can be heard, as they travel along. They haven't ran into anything so far, but they still have a ways to go. Shuffling can be heard as well strange unfamiliar noises, at least to Roy and Riza who are from the city.

Roy: -got any magic balls of light you can pull out of your a** by any chance?"
