Baharimtoto Pride

With the buffalo long gone, the jungle has been left in a state of chaos. The area is now VERY open, with a LOT of space to move between trees. Some trees have even fallen over dead, pulling their roots with them, from the prolonged presence of the great bovines. But in chaos, there is beauty to be found, and with the passing of the danger, the pride can once again move in to try and clean it up a bit.

One of the first brave enough to poke in was one of the newest and amid the youngest members of the pride, Magar, one of six cubs who joined the pride with his brothers, sister, and mother. And waht he found had him running back to get the rest of the pride - Treasures!

Welcome to part two of the Buffalo in the Jungle Meta Event!

First, what are the RULES of this RP?

Quote:
- EVERYBODY may enter this! Cubs, adols, adults, Bahari, Kizaa, rogues, ANYBODY!
- This will be dice-based! What you roll determines what IC prize you get!
- You may only win one prize from the meta over-all! So if you won one of the two lions from Part 1, you may NOT win this lioness!
- Wait for somebody else to post before you post again!
- Which speaking of, posts should be at least a paragraph each. If you're having trouble filling in a post, dive into your character's psyche a bit. It's always fun to do!

question So what are we rolling?
exclaim Per lion, you will roll 1 D10! Each number corresponds to an IC prize! But every 10 that you roll will also gain you an EXTRA ticket for the raffle at the end!

question Raffle at the end?!
exclaim Of course! For the blue-eyed daughter of Xavier!

question When DOES this end?
exclaim Something of a first for me, this is actually a TIMED event! It will end on April 30th, so you have until then to swap as MANY SoA in and out as you like to find little prizes!

question Does she know about Dimbwi?
exclaim They are very much aware of each other and that they're... Sort of sisters??? They're acting it, anyway.

question SORT of sisters?
exclaim Well, Dimbwi is from Xavier's LAST life as a goddess, and since Dimbwi was born, Xavier was REborn, so that disconnected any relation. The other lioness is from THIS life. They're both aware of this fact, but they pretend as if they actually ARE sisters, to make things feel less weird.

question So what are the IC roll prizes?
exclaim Ah, glad you asked! Let's cover that!

1 - You found a small feather! How cute! You tuck it somewhere to save for later jewelry making
2 - You found a large feather! This'll make a nice earring!
3 - You move over a rock that a tree uprooted, but all you find are some bugs. Curious, you eat one.
4 - Overturning a small log with your shoulder, you spy a curious looking mushroom! Not sure what it does, you decide to eat it. Wow, you're seeing funny colors now! (Not a harmful or REAL mushroom, just a 'fantasy mushroom' - At worst it causes hallucinations.)
5 - You didn't find anything this time. Darn!
6 - Moving some brush, you find a shiny rock that's had some roots curl around it in an interesting way. Cool!
7 - You move a few pesky branches, and find a thingamajig! Awesome! (Player choice broken human item - Nobody will know what it is, of course! Just that it's cool looking and will make a great piece of jewelry! Also, please describe so we have an idea of what it might actually be!)
8 - In moving a bush, you disturb a small antelope. It jumps over you and bounds its way out of the forest. Well then!
9 - Something jabs you in the paw. Ouch! When you look, you find a large splinter. Best to pull that out!
10 - You found a baby bird! You might want to put it back in the nest it goes in! (Bonus: You have gained an extra ticket in the raffle!)

And now about that prize!

User Image

(Her image links to her full-size!)

This lovely lady is our prize! Here are the known facts about her!

- She is a daughter of Xavier! Her mother was LIKELY a rogue, but could have some old blood ties back to the pride. You can name her mother whatever you wish, and even quest for her in the future if you want to!
- As a daughter of a god, she is a SEER! No need to roll her!
- Both she and Chafuko'dimbwi are aware of their quasi-relation! They choose to act as ACTUAL sisters!
- She was colored by Ecavi ~

So how's she getting homed, again...? Well, at the end of the RP, all qualifying participants will be put on a raffle list and rolled! And remember, anybody who rolls a 10 in the game of rolling will get an EXTRA ticket for each 10 rolled!

But also remember, she MUST stay in the pride, as this is the pride she was customed for!

She'd been relaxing with many others when the cub had come running. He was one of the six that had joined with the lioness Ixcatzin, then just little bundles of fur playing around the adults' paws. They were a breath of fresh air to the pride, after what felt so long without young around. And even now, she felt a sense of joy at another recently born-in litter and the fact a third lioness was round with her own cubs. So it was, with joy in her heart, that Dimbwi had been the first to follow little Magar back to the ruined forest. She looked around, then to any who had come to follow, or any who had wandered in, a grin on her face and a glint in her eyes. "Come, friends, let us search for treasure, oui?"

User Image

He was growing fast, he knew that, practically all legs, his mother said. Magar didn't wait for any other command or invitation, diving right back in to see what treasures he could find. Oh the bounty he was sure to bring back! He had a feeling there were other cubs around, and the funny lioness with the stone-tan fur and blue eyes was watching. "Come on, there's more treasures to be found in here!" He didn't look back, diving into a bush. With no more threat of buffalo, and adults around, it was surely safe to go on in!

Pilixcatzi was overjoyed that she was finally able to partake in something! Last time she had tried to butt in and do something she got sent back home so this was quite a treat for her! And there were kizi members around as well. This had her all sorts of elated as she bounded around. At the mention of treasures her mind was stolen away and she stood still for a moment and had a huge grin spread over her lips as she became a ball of life once more. TREASURE! She spotted her brother not too far away as he dashed into the jungle and she pounced after him. "Wait for me! I want to come with you." She said as she dove into the undergrowth and looked around for him and for something to claim as her own. However, she didn't find anything to claim though she did see a streak of blue not to far away and bounded that way hoping to catch up to her brother, if that was still him. There were all sorts of creatures in jungle looking for trinkets now. Perhaps she should say hello to some of them? She gave it a moments thought then brushed it off, there were more interesting things to do at the moment, like find things! Or not find things as her luck would have it.

Asker and his sister had heard that the Bahari were having a little shin dig sorta thing and being a Patron for the pride he decided it would be a good idea for himself and for her to tag along. Plus he figured he might see Zeph again. She was zesty and full of life and she intrigued him a great deal. Though he wasn't sure if she even liked him. He knew she had been poking and prodding him when they had some travelers come to the area, but he hadn't seen her much, or rather at all since then. Glancing over towards his sister and her familiar he gave small smile and turned his attention to the area surrounding them. There were two other members of his pride there, though he had never actually spoken to either of them. He figured he'd go over and introduce himself to the male and see how he was doing. He knew Nelly and Nemmie were going to be just fine here. The Bahari had always been close neighbors to them for a long time. As he approached the male he spotted a feather on the ground and secured it, perhaps he could make something for one of his sisters later with it. "Hello. I don't believe you and I have every had the opportunity to speak. I hadn't seen you around at our prides last two gatherings. My name is Cold Fire." His voice was warm as he spoke and he tried to think if he was familiar with his family or not.

Vanellope and Nemmie had hesitantly decided to come along with her brother to the Bahari. She wished Hana were here, but she actually liked doing things with her brother so it wasn't so bad. Her companion hoped along side her as the three of them made their way towards were the Bahari were gathered. There had been a buffalo in the jungle not to long ago and danger had been rather high, though now the threat had passed so there was no need for worry anymore. Which was nice. Now the two prides could intermingle once again without fear of being trampled by the buffalo. She watched as he brother broke away from her and Nemmie and walked over towards one of the other Kizi members. She didn't recognize the male or the female and figured she'd go and say hello to the other one. There were plenty of rouges here by the looks of things as well. However, she was going to stick to pride members from the Bahari and the Kizi for now.

Nemmie had spotted something not to far away and bounded into the brush and bounded back to Nelly's side with a very shiny rock covered in fascinating roots. "Look what I found, perhaps you can use it later?" She said to Nelly as the pair made their way over towards the lioness. "Hello, my name is Sugar Rush and this is Nemmie." She said to her as she introduced herself and her familiar. "Have you found anything interesting so far?" She asked her trying to make some small talk.

Their pride was currently going under some reconstruction and he decided it would be fun for him to get away from there for a while. He honestly hadn't known his mother had seen him sneaking away, or the fact that Iregi had followed both of them. Some warrior in training he was right? At any rate the young noble was curious about this pride he had come across. They were located in a thick jungle not to far from a salty ocean. He could smell the water on the air, the way the salt hung in it was overwhelming, but in a good way. As he padded along he felt a seering pain in one of his paws and gave a small growl in frustration as he found a spot to sit down so he could inspect it. Lifting his paw he turned it over and spotted the culprit. It was a rather large splinter and it had made itself nice and cozy in between two of his toe pads. Digging into it with his teeth he finally removed it from his foot and tested his weight on it gingerly. After a moment or two he was satisfied and began to continue on his way when he spotted a familiar form out of the corner of his eye. "Mom!...." He gave her a sheepish grin. "What are you doing here? I thought you were with Jabari." He said hoping she wasn't overly mad at him for wandering off like that. He was almost an adult!

She couldn't let one of her sons just wander off without telling anyone where he was going so she decided to follow him. She used to travel quite a bit when she was younger so she knew a thing or two about the rouge lands. However, he young son did not. So she was curious to see where he would go and what he would do. She had noticed the fact Iregi had followed the pair of them and she was rather glad for him doing so. They had a bit of a history, Iregi and herself. They had traveled together quite a bit before they both made their way to the pride the two now inhabited. As she followed her son into the jungle she was mildly curious about this pride. She had heard of it before, but had never visited it. At least now she had her chance! Even if it was by following her son.

Watching him for a moment she realized he had managed to step on something but he seemed to remedy the situation alright and then spotted her. She wasn't mad at him. Both her and Jabari were known for traveling so it wasn't a surprise to her that one of their sons was the same way. "I saw you sneaking away and decided to see where you would go." She said simply as she padded past him. "I don't mind that you are here, but I'm sure Jabari won't be too pleased you didn't tell her where you were going." She said teasing him as she moved further into the jungle towards the sound of voices. She caught the last bit of the lioness's words as they spoke about a treasure hunt of sorts. It seemed her son picked a good day to wander. With that she decided to look around, making sure to keep track of the young lion. As she poked about she found a curious looking mushroom and decided it didn't look or smell harmful. So she ate it.

Continuing along she suddenly realized everything was starting to look a little different. Everything was opposing colors and she figured it was best if she sat down for a minute as she watched everything around her.

User Image 3 - You move over a rock that a tree uprooted, but all you find are some bugs. Curious, you eat one.

Jabari would have his hide if something happened to her mate and their son and he hadn't done anything about it so he had decided to trail after the duo. Hadeth was a good friend of his and he wasn't about to let her get into something because one of her sons got the curiosity bug. He knew Hadeth could handle her own for the most part, but she wasn't the best of fighters and he knew that and knew she knew that. So trailing along wasn't the worst thing he could have done. The leopard, just like Hadeth, was familiar with the Kizi and the Bahari prides, though had never visited neither of them. He supposed now was his chance too. Fancy that. He laughed silently to himself when the young noble stepped on something sharp and he wondered if he should keep watching Cheveyo or follow Hadeth. Twisting his hears slightly he heard the commotion about a treasure hunt and thought that to be curious. He had never partook in anything of the sort and thought it might be a little relaxing. He decided that no harm would come to any of them while they were here and started looking around for whatever trinkets or items might be laying around. However, the only thing he found was an uprooted rock with some bugs. Bon Appétit! He ate one of them, they were good protein after all!

Eosphoros had been slowly making his way towards, well. He wasn't sure. He had heard of a pride called the Stormborn and very much wanted to see what they were all about. Though, he was fairly certain he had been turned around along the way because the jungle he found himself in wasn't exactly what he pictured for that particular pride. It wasn't long before he realized where he was by the chatter of the inhabitants of the area. Glancing around at all the different faces he wondered what was going on, but quickly realize that it was a scavenger hunt of sorts. He had done such a thing in the Harlem pride and it seemed this pride was doing one as well. What were the odds? It seemed he was meant to travel upon prides as they were doing treasure hunts. The thought made him laugh and he spotted a feather upon the ground and picked it up. Perhaps he could trade it later to someone. As he walked along he felt a small form bump into him and looking down at Pilixcatzi he gave a warm smile. "Hello there little one. I do believe I have gotten in your way." His voice held some light laughter as he looked down upon the small cub.

2 - You found a large feather! This'll make a nice earring!

Farooq was usually content to lie in a pile on the sand so cubs could climb over him, bury him, tangle his mane. Today a little trip to rummage in the newly vacated jungle would be an interesting change of pace. Of course, it also meant he had to move... The tawny lion determined that he'd go hunt around long enough to find something interesting, then go back to lounging on the shore. Surely other folks would want to have a look around, and not all of them would feel safe taking their cubs along, probably. They could always drop them off with him. Once he found something neat, of course. A flash of color caught his eye low to the ground, and he bent to tug it free of the tangled brush. A long, brilliantly green feather...! Perfect! He'd have to let some cubs 'braid' (aka tangle) it into his mane later! That'd definitely keep them occupied.

10 - You found a baby bird! You might want to put it back in the nest it goes in!

Areli hadn't had a lot of chances to go out to do much interesting lately. Her pregnancy had been a surprise (but not a bad one, in the end) and she'd been disgusted with how rotund she'd become. Of course, the six perfect (if oddly colored) little lives that had resulted from it had been well worth it, but, of course, she'd been VERY busy. Now they were finally old enough to leave on their own, smart enough not to go wading into the sea and so on. She could get back to HELPING! She'd always been a proactive lioness, so efforts to clean up the jungle were right up her alley. One of her cubs had chosen to tag along, so she wasn't going very fast...but that too turned out to be for the best when she found a tiny, near-featherless bird peeping at paw-height. It took only a few moments to find the nest and gingerly lift the bird back up into it. Her heart stung at the thought of how alarmed she'd be to come home to a lost cub...hopefully the mother bird would come back soon.

NO IMAGE FOR LUMT OOPS
6 - Moving some brush, you find a shiny rock that's had some roots curl around it in an interesting way. Cool!

Lumt had quietly spent the morning mostly tucked up against one or another of his mother's legs. He was a solemn child, but not unduly timid, and he watched with wide blue eyes as she helped to set the jungle aright. The way the trees had stood or fallen, what brush became tangled up almost beyond salvage...it seemed to fascinate the little male, and he absorbed everything around him with quiet intensity. Eventually growing bolder, he'd stepped away from Areli's side to scrabble in the shrubs for himself at one point. A quiet gasp summoned his mother to his side in a heart beat, wary of any danger, but what'd startled the cub so was actually nothing more than a slick-looking rock that had become wedged in and between several roots. No matter how he pawed at it it wouldn't budge from the root prison, so the cub set to gnawing the roots with the same stoic determination he'd come to display in almost everything. This treasure was coming home with him, if it wanted to or not!

On some little level, Dimbwi did wonder how lions outside the pride had found out. But then, there were those that had to be tracked down in the hunting grounds of the territory, and that was always a prime place to mingle with rogues. So really, it was less of a surprise than she thought. She even spied her brother-in-law, out amid the others. She poked around in some bushes and roots, looking for anything that might jump out at her. With a sudden yelp, she yanked her paw back, turning it over. A large splinter was stuck in between her toes, causing a radiating pain. Carefully, Dimbwi removed it with her teeth, silently cursing at the splinter.

Pausing in his rooting, Magar looked over his shoulder. It was hard for him to miss his sister, his entire family being very distinct. "Oh! Pixi!" His face broke into a smile as he went and ran to her, pale hair all but bouncing. "You made it! Maybe we can find better stuff than the adults, being so close to the ground!" Maybe even better than the leopard and hybrid! He wasn't unknowing of hybrids of course. One of the pride members was a leopon, a mix of leopard and lion, and had so far taken care to educate the growing number of cubs about hybrids. Bright gold eyes suddenly looked past his sister, growing wide. "Oh!" He hurried over, snagging a feather. "Look at this, Pixi! I found a FEATHER!" He tucked it into his mane, hoping somebody could make something out of it later.

Mzia was curious to check out the jungle. Now that the big bad threat of being trampled was gone, the adventurous side of the lioness was eager to explore! Much like the rest of the pride, it would seem. The bright lioness had something of a difficult time containing her excitement. She had a little jump, a spring in her step as she moved, humming all the way.

She swore she felt something brush along her back, which slightly startled her. Mzia reached up and… Oh, it was just a feather. But it was a neat little trinket wasn’t it! She tucked it behind her ear. Maybe she’d get it made into a real accessory later, but for now Mzia was content just wearing it as was.

Tengiz didn’t exactly have the same glee that Mzia possessed but he was excited to a degree. The jungle was a curious place, and he treaded with an air of caution to him. He was careful to not step on many twigs or rocks or otherwise be hindered by his own clumsiness.

At some point he found a rock that looked like he had been shoved to the side. Shifting it purely out of his curiosity the red lion nearly jumped as a bug crawled out and nearly ran into his toes. Now that he was afraid of bugs mind you, Tengiz just simply didn’t want to get infested with them. Though he was pretty sure that was only something that happened with little bugs wasn’t it?

He had also heard somewhere that bugs were supposed to be good for you. Sort of. He decided to test this and bent down, eating one of the little vermin as they scurried about. Tengiz’s eyes widened with disgust as he spat the critter out of his mouth. Ew.

While she wasn't hurt the sight of the large fluffy lion that wasn't pride did make her look up at him with wide eyes. Realizing he had said something she shook her head. "Oh no, I wasn't looking where I was going." She said firmly and glanced over towards her brother who was shouting having found a feather. Seeing something out of the corner of her eye she moved some brush and found a really awesome rock! "Look what I found though!" She said happily picking it up. Glancing up at the stranger she waved a paw at him. "Sorry, gotta go help my brother!" She said bounding away from him to show her brother her really neat rock.

Sometimes you just didn't want to be bothered. Realizing his sister was nearby he decided to go join her. Perhaps the two of them could search together for things instead. As he walked towards her he spotted a feather and picked it up with a smile. This would make a lovely hair piece, not that he wore that sort of thing. He knew others that might though. Nemmie came around quickly and sniffed at it and pulled it out for her. "Here, my paws are smaller than yours. I can get it for you." She said pulling it out from between the pads. Much more carefully, Dimbwi moved things around and searched. Around her, she could hear other lions searching, trying to find things, but otherwise didn't focus TOO intently on them. She hummed as she dug, some old song she'd learned from her mother ages and ages ago when she was a cub. The words were long forgotten, but she didn't mind. A branch got in her way and she struggled against it. After some work, she got it moved, only to spy a... She wasn't sure, really. It looked like a thing her mother had once upon a time described, a... Hoo-mon? It wasn't very big, maybe the size of two of her toes next to each other, and had its front legs held up in an arc while a strange skin had been carved to flutter around it while it stood on its tip-toes of its hind legs. The pelt was painted a sandy color, while the mane was gold and the strange hyde on it was painted white. In all, it reminded her of a dancing bird. She cradled it in her paw, smiling, before tucking it into her mane. It'd make a nice little decoration on her shawl!

Her attention shifted as three strangers approached - Twins the color of wave-wet sand and a meeker-looking companion of black with a single white leg and a red mane and tail. Something about them... Seemed off to her.

There was a confidence in his stride as Bjorn walked into the area. He'd heard word of treasures to be found, loot by the sea. They weren't out on a viking to capture, though. The captain they presently followed was heading elsewhere, another and smaller pride of which to raid, and while they stopped to rest for a few days, had given the twins and their family thrall leave to explore. The invitation had been tempting and accepted... So long as they behaved. Which he had no problem with. "Stay close, Anundr. We don't want to lose you." He moved a bush, then leaned back in surprise as an antelope went bounding away, out of the small jungle. "Well then..."

User Image

Near by, Bjorn's twin sister, Freyja, laughed. "Great job, brother!" She went over, giving his shoulder a hard hit with her paw. "You can really find them, can't you?" Her mirth earned her a glare, before she turned and did her own digging. She knew, at present, that Bjorn had dreams of surpassing their father. Yu was a great reaver, but by his age, shouldn't he have been a captain? Bjorn was ready and wanting. Freyja didn't care, though. She'd follow most captains into Valhalla without a second thought. Though if her brother were a captain... Her thoughts trailed off as she moved a rock and found some bugs she'd never seen before. Curiosity got the better of her and she tried one, earning a startled look from the strange lioness near by with the wave markings. The bug tasted funny, and some of the lions around her shifted both colors and coat patterns, as did many of the plants. "Bjorn, don't eat the bugs... They do funny things."

Coming with the twins hadn't been Anundr's idea. Of course, nothing ever was. He was just a thrall, what choice did he have? Still, he didn't want to be out here, so far from the world he knew. At least back in the pride's lands, he knew what to expect. Somebody yelling at him, or giving him orders, or even the odd smack from an angry freeborn or higher for getting in their way. His mother's eternally-sad expression... It wasn't the best of lives, but it was what he was used to. Still, with the order to search.. Anundr moved his paw about in the brush, only to yank it back with a yelp. Turning his paw over, he stared at where a splinter poked out of the pink pad. He could only let out a sigh, using his teeth to pull it out. It just figured, didn't it?

Something struck the Goddess of New Beginnings to go see what's happening with the Bahari'mtoto. What she found when she arrived was honestly not what she was expecting. She hadn't even gotten to the pride before she found the gathering that wasn't what she thought she found. There in the jungle was the group.

Cubs, rogues, lions from other prides... It was odd. Her blue eyes blinked at one particulare leopard and just bit down on her cheek. Interesting. Curious even!

Before she said anything, however, a bush near where she was standing started to shake and rattle. It sent the blue lioness on edge before a small antelope jumped out and and over here and then away. She blinked slowly at that and swallowed. "Well!" she said with a huff, shaking her head. "What was that all about?"

At the mere mention of treasures, the eager Bumani (or as she like to refer to herself, jewellery-maker) had gone pelting down to the jungle as fast as her silvery legs could carry her. It wasn't that she wanted to take everything for herself, no, quite the opposite. She just wanted to see everything! Ula knew there would probably be a fair few creatures at the mention of treasures, too.

She spent a minute watching as members of the Pride and various other creatures began to unearth different things, feathers, scraps of cloth and shells. Everything was unique and everything was beautiful. As her soft paws scrabbled around amongst the branches she began to think of how she would use these things to make the finest pieces of jewellery when her paw found something very hard and very cold.

Frowning, she nudged it closer for inspection. It was small, smaller than her paw, gold, and entirely round. Part of the object was cracked. Within the gold circle was a slightly smaller white one, now tarnished a dirty-brown. There were faint black scribbles around the outside that Ula didn't recognise. Two long thin sticks pointed in random directions at them.

Though it was broken, it was very intriguing. She clasped it with her paw and brought it closer still. "Anybody know what this is?" Regardless, it would make a very interesting piece of jewellery.

Eyeballing the three strangers with the braids, Dimbwi went back to searching. Her attention wound up diverted by the goddess that appeared amid them, a smile spreading on her maw. "Bonjour, dame déesse!" She could only admire the goddess' features, finding them beautiful, before she moved something and yanked her paw back with a yelp. There, sticking out... Was another splinter. "Just my luck today..."

Bjorn believed in gods like any Stormborn. He believed in THEIR gods, of course, and wondered what kind of goddess had wings like that. He stared for a moment at her, then went back to searching. His attention soon was caught by something chirping and crying, and he found nestled amid the ruined plants a small bird. "Well aren't YOU far from home..." He looked at it, noting how it was clearly in no condition to fly quite yet. Moving very carefully, he scooped it up and started climbing, finding a nest to put it in. Judging by how the other little birds looked similar, it was clearly the right home.

Watching from the ground, Freyja tilted her head as her brother climbed. "You're going to a lot of effort for a bird." The look she got made her grin and stick out her tongue. "Hey, no flowers in YOUR blood, climbing a tree like that!" There was also the risk of the parents attacking. Instead, he was rewarded with a wary look and feathers fluttering down. Freyja tracked one with her eyes, soon scooping it up. It wasn't very big, but it'd look great none the less! With a little work, she put it in her braid and carried on her searching.

Left to his own devices, Anundr moved small logs and rocks. He wondered how hard it would be to run away, but his love and worry for his mother kept him there. It was also the only life he knew, being a thrall. After all, it was the life he was born to. There was no denying what he was, the life he lead. He let out a quiet sigh to himself, moving a rock. Nothing was under it, only bugs scattering about. Curiosity got the better of him and he tried one. All he got was a bitter taste in his mouth, making him spit it out in disgust.

[ 2 - You found a large feather! This'll make a nice earring! ]

There had been some sort of commotion traveling through the pride, and, as usual, Tojinbo found himself rather late to the party. He hadn't been all that interested when others had flocked to the forest, but when he had heard that everyone was looking for treasure, he thought it could be an interesting diversion.

Padding slowly, Tojinbo joined the small crowd that was heading towards the forest. He was happy to see so many of his fellow pride members; the young, the old, new blood and old blood all here together. Joining in with the others that were digging around, Tojinbo wasn't sure whether he'd find anything at all, but he'd at least give it a go.

As he moved past the more crowded area, Tojinbo's eyes carefully traced the ground. Every few steps he paused, gently turning over a rock or scratching at the ground. He wasn't really sure what he was looking for - or if he'd even uncover anything at all - that is, until a fleck of blue caught his eye. It was just peeking out from a bush, and he brought his face down close to the ground to inspect it closer. Carefully, he pulled it out from the bush, revealing a long, vibrant blue feather. It may not have been a shiny stone or gem, but Tojinbo preferred the elegance of feathers. He could possibly even have it put in his mane or something!

As she poked around a bit more, Dimbwi found nothing else. She let out a hum, finding a spot to settle down and watch. She was done searching, she figured. She'd found at least one thing... And two splinters... She was good. The strange little trinket would be a good addition to her net shawl. As she reclined, she kept an eye on the braided strangers.

Assured the bird was safe, Bjorn descended from the tree. He let out a pleased sound, smiling as he walked away. The praise from his sister, about iron coursing in his blood, rang loudly in his mind and propelled him to find more great things to do in this little search. Unfortunately his search was cut short with a hiss, as he started rooting around and felt a jab in his paw. He pulled his paw away, finding a large splinter in it. The caramel-gold lion let out a growl, plucking it free. "Splinters, splinters, everywhere..."

"And none to pick your teeth with!" Laughing at her own joke, Freyja went back to rooting around. As she moved bushes and branches and the odd rock, she began to feel frustrated that she was finding nothing. Were the gods mocking her? As if to add insult to injury, or injury to insult, as it turned out to be, she went to move a piece of tree, only to get a splinter stuck in her paw. She let out a string of colorful words, pulling it out in anger. "Bjorn, stop LAUGHING!" She turned, looking around. "Anundr! Come move this!"

Jumping, Anundr hurried over to where Freyja was. He placed his shoulder on the log, giving it a mighty shove. As it moved, he could hear the wood splintering and cracking, a sign of its rot from when it had apparently fallen early in the destruction of the area. He sank his paws in, trying to get good footing, not seeming to care that the white of his front paw got muddy and dirty. Finally, he got it out of the way, letting out a sigh as he stepped back. When he got a nodd of approval, he went back to looking, only to draw his paw away with its own splinter. His ears folded back as he cringed, plucking it away. His luck was the worst today, wasn't it?
