This House is located north of the Center House. Its attribute is 'Strength' and the element that was passed down by the North's Emblem is 'Water'. Strength comes in many forms; physical, mental, emotional, in numbers, in arms, to get over one self, to get over obstacles. This is the sort of House that holds the power of retaliation from any opposing forces that try to harm the Pride.
This House is the Tianxia's 'military' power. These are the strong members and the first to head into a conflict. In brief, the House is set up much like an army would be, with generals, lieutenants, majors and soldiers being some of those who make up the ranks. There will be no indifference among the members as they must all act as a unit in battle or else the mission will fail and the pride would at risk.

Daily Life Though the House isn't populated entirely by warriors, it has a distinctly militaristic air about it. All members receive some combat and survival training, particularly youngsters, regardless of the career they have in mind for the future. Adults who have already gone through basic training aren't expected to show up for more unless they plan to follow the path of a warrior, but are certainly encouraged to! Youngsters, however, need to show up for training, though they're not all expected to be too good at it.
Perseverance, strength, discipline, determination, courage and even ferocity are qualities often attributed to the House and those in it. For most of the members in the House the day consists of a training session or two, and then on with life, working and surviving. The North House isn't only a place of duty, however, and should not be mistaken as such.
Winter Festival Held usually in mid-winter, this festival can be quite exciting. In true North House spirit, it is mostly celebrated by means of contests, showcasing physical prowess via duels, hunting games, races and the like. It is an excellent moment to try and show one's skill hopes of catching the eyes of superiors and rising in the ranks. This festival lasts for about three days.
The Heir Unlike other Houses, the heir of the North House is often chosen by the Lord and Lady, rather than being their oldest cub by default. This means the heir may only be announced later on. Once the heir is announced, a meet & greet is help by North House royalty, so members can get to know their future ruler.
Marriage and Cubs Specific to this House, members who wish to marry will request an audience with the Lord and Lady to receive their blessing. It is generally looked down upon to have cubs before this, and children are believed to be weaker, or at least more prone to weakness. Because of this, rogue breedings are also somewhat frowned upon. In the North House marriage first is most definitely the norm!
When cubs are born it is common for friends to come congratulate the parents, as well as meet the new children. When cubs are born to members of royalty, a procession made up of members of the House makes its way to the royal dens, to pay respects, greet the new royals and celebrate.
Battle Ready Though not all members of the North House are warriors, everyone in it is trained basic combat skills, including even those who aren't normally fit fighters, like cheetahs. This is because Tianxia would depend greatly on the strength of the North House in times of war.

The ranks below make up what is called the 'career' of a guard. Which means they all stem from this basic rank!
Reminder: The ranks below require that the SoA be a member of the North House to obtain. However, once the title is reached they can move to any of the other Houses and maintain the title, so long as the position is available! You may apply for a rank and a House change at the same time, working under the assumption the SoA moved soon after being promoted.
Quote: Scout middle classA scouts job is more specific than that of a guard, and these are individuals who have certainly undergone some training. They are usually quick on their feet, and have plenty of stamina so that they can cover a great distance. Scouts do precisely what one would expect with such a title, they travel on further ahead than most, with the objective of gaining knowledge on their surroundings, and, in times of war, enemies, so that they may report back to whomever is coming. Quantity: Unlimited Requirements: North House. Previously a guard or a messenger. 1 RP in that work.
Quote: Ranger middle classSoA who are very comfortable working either on their own or in very small groups. Rangers function in some ways as long distance scouts, traveling far and wide for reconnaissance. One of their jobs is to find lands for the pride or their House, should there be an interest. They are not encouraged to try and work politics with other prides on their own, but learning about them in a more general way is useful. Rangers are gifted trackers, stealthy and have excellent survival skills, meaning that when necessary it is usually them who will be sent out for important covert missions where a larger force cannot be used. Quantity: Limited Requirements: North House. Previously a scout. 2 RPs, or 3 combat or speed points, or 2 combat or speed points and 1 RP.
Quote: Soldiers middle classThe main physical strength in the pride. Unlike guards, these SoA have definitely undergone training, learning how to fight, and survival skills in times of war. Typically fit individuals with a somewhat more aggressive mindset, but ideally not rebellious. Most of their time is spent training, fighting or eating. An army walks on its stomach, after all. Though they are expected to hunt for themselves, occasionally food is provided by hunters. Soldiers are sometimes stationed at the East, West and South houses, under the command of a Lt. Colonel. If you wish to RP your soldier in that situation, feel free! Just remember to mention the Lt. Colonel your Soldier is currently subordinate to. So please familiarize yourself with which Lt. Colonel is stationed in the other houses. About the rotation itself, ICly it can last up to a month, afterwards, the Soldier is to return to the North. Typically, up to four soldiers at a time may be under the command of a Lt. Colonel stationed in another house. Quantity: Unlimited Requirements: North House. Previously a guard. 1 RP as a guard, or 2 combat points, or 1 combat point.
Quote: Captain middle classThere are actually two kinds of Captains, one that commands the scouts, and one that commands the soldiers. In both cases a captain might command a small team (usually 4-6 individuals) and carry out orders and tasks from higher up. Captain of the Bei Ren - Commands soldiers. Captain of the Yuan Jing - Commands scouts. Quantity: Limited Requirements: North House. Previously a soldier or scout. 3 RPs, or 3 combat or speed points, or 1 combat or speed point and 2 rps. "Skip to" for: Those with High Class parents in the North House.
Quote: Major mid-high classExpected to carry out high class missions, and be generally smart individuals, at least in matters of war. Majors are able to distribute commands and missions to Captains. Aside from being higher ranking, their time is mostly spent doing about the same as any soldier: training and patrolling. Majors have quite a bit of responsibility on their shoulders, seeing as any mistakes committed during a mission will probably be blamed on them. Quantity: Limited Requirements: North House. Previously a captain. 4 RPs or 4 combat or speed points, or 2 combat or speed points and 2 RPs. "Skip to" for: Dukes and Duchesses.
Quote: Lieutenant Colonel mid-high classA very well respected member. Lt. Colonels actually spend quite a bit of time outside the North House, though they remain members of it. They will usually be stationed in the East, West or South Houses for quite some time, though obligated to revisit the North at least once a month to keep updates on their commands. A Lt. Colonel will be assigned a specific House and stay there, without moving about too much. Groups of three to four soldiers will rotate under the command of the Lt. Colonel stationed at other Houses. During this time they are under his or her command, and will be kept busy with training drills and patrols. Once it is time for a Lt. Colonel to move on with his or her career, he or she is to return to the North House. Quantity: Limited Requirements: North House. Previously a major. Approval of Lord/Lady of House he/she will be staying in, even if North House (OOC, but feel free to RP it out). 3 RP as a Major, and 2 combat or speed points, or 4 combat or speed points and 2 RPs. "Skip to" for: Dukes and Duchesses of the North. Princes and Princesses.
Quote: Brigadier high classHighest non-noble rank in the North. They are who is in charge in the absence of the Lord, Lady and the chosen House Heir, and make many important decisions. They are often in close contact with the North house Nobility, providing advice and, frequently, friendship. Quantity: Limited Requirements: North House. Previously a Lt. Colonel. Approval of Lord/Lady of North and earn favor of the Empress/Emperor of Tianxia (OOC is fine, but feel free to RP it out). Previously a Lt. Colonel. 8 RPs and 4 combat or speed points, or 6 combat or speed points and 3 RPs. "Skip to" for: 'Retired' Lord/Lady of the North, should they wish it. Princes and Princesses.
