If you own a god or goddess and would like for them to have unique/special powers fitted to their domain, please read the information here, fill out the form, and post it in this thread. If you do not apply for your god's powers here you will not be able to have your god use powers in roleplay outside of the basic powers that all gods share. If you feel like you need more information about gods, their domains, or their powers before you apply, please visit the God Information Thread.

If you do not wish for your god to have powers specific to his or her domain and only want to RP him or her with the basic god powers shared by all gods, you do not have to apply here. However, please do not RP anything but the basic god powers or you will be reprimanded. Repeated offenses will result in OOC consequences.



User ImageGeneral Information
Each god has a specific domain and he/she is the living personification of that domain; the god is a representation of mortal belief in that object or concept. Some domains are very broad, while others are very specific, and the powers held by that god has will reflect this. For example, the god of plants will have power over all plants but the goddess of roses will only have powers over roses. However, since all gods have approximately the same amount of power, this means the god of plants powers are spread out across all of the plants in his domain. In essence, if both the god of plants and the goddess of roses try to do something related to a particular rosebush at the same time, the goddess of roses will 'win.' If gods work together their power is magnified, of course, but there aren't many gods that are known for their fondness of working as a team. All gods were created when their domain was: as a consequence, there are very few new god souls.

There are three types of powers among gods: shared/universal god powers, temporary god powers, and one permanent god power. Please note that you are not required to have your god have temporary/permanent powers at all. If you do wish to RP them with temporary/permanent powers, however, they must be OKed beforehand.


  • Powers shared by all gods:
    - Flight
    - Teleportation
    - Shapeshifting and/or illusions over only themselves. This can be for an indefinite period of time.
    - Longer lifespan than mortals
    - Influencing offspring so that the god's genes do not show. They will look like their mother/mother's family or father/father's family entirely. They cannot, however, do more than sway the current genetic makeup of the cub, suppressing the god's genes in the breeding. If anyone wants to do this in breeding, they must make a note of it in the breeding form and post it in the Gene Suppression Thread so that other owners may see it later.
    - Creation of a token that may be used to summon them. Use may or may not be unlimited, depending on the whim of the god creating it. The most common token would be a feather from the god's own wing, though it can vary since not all gods have feathered wings.

  • Temporary god powers:
    All gods can have up to 3 temporary god powers. The key difference between a temporary power and a permanent power is that the affected object/mortal will return to their original state, unchanged, after the effect of the power has worn off. Temporary powers have a fixed duration, and may last anywhere from a few seconds up to 3 days.

  • Permanent god powers:
    Each god can have one 'long-term' power, which can leave a permanent effect on an object or mortal. While it doesn't necessarily have to affect another SoA's coloring/breeding/growth image, it certainly can! However, this power must fit the god's particular domain. IE, the goddess of birds could change someone into a bird, but it would make no sense for the god of water to do this. This power may be used once every two months, and can only be used with the permission of the affected SoA's owner. To use this power, the god owner must post in the God Used Powers thread, with the RP proof to back it up. It may be used on anyone, regardless of how you obtained your SoA.

  • Affecting others with powers:
    A god's powers can affect any SoA, including other gods, but the other owner must give their consent. If you choose to have your SoA affected by a god's permanent power, keep in mind that it is permanent - getting a curse/blessing removed later can be very difficult! The original god won't necessarily be inclined or able to remove it, and finding another who can could be tricky; it is theoretically possible, however, if they have an appropriate domain/power.

  • Mortal forms:
    While all gods appear primarily as lions, and breed as lions - breeding with lions produces, of course, more lions, and breeding with other felines produces the corresponding hybrid - they may put on an illusion of being another species. These are referred to as 'mortal forms' and, for SoA species, you may custom an unlimited number of mortal forms for your god; however, they may only breed as one of them (in addition to lion). So while your god may be able to don the illusion of being a wild dog, a cheetah, and a ratel, you must choose one alternate they can produce purebreds of. Because gods have already produced a significant number of hybrids, we feel it would be too much of a retcon for them to be able to produce purebreds with every species.

  • Earning new powers:
    If you want your god to have additional powers beyond the default set, three temporary powers, and one permanent power, you can earn them through extensive RP. 15 complete RPs (following the same length rules as breeding RPs) will get you a new temporary power, of which you can acquire a maximum of two extra. 30 RPs will get you a new permanent power, of which you can acquire a maximum of one extra.


REMEMBER to keep your god powers RELATED to your god's domain. Also, if your god has a broad/parent domain, keep in mind their powers should be more general than those of the sub domains.

If in the future, you want/need your powers to change for whatever IC reason, please contact staff and we will work it out with you to do so. We understand that as more gods are added to the list, reworking might be necessary.

If you're a current god owner with concerns about a power application posted here, please PM the mule, and we'll work with both parties to find an agreeable solution.

User ImageGetting Your God's Powers Approved

  • Read all of the information about gods in SoA, found HERE.
  • Only post for approval once your god is official. Quest concepts do not get their powers approved.

  • NEW! God Approvals are now being handled monthly. Your form may be crossed out before you are informed of any final decisions, but you should receive a PM regarding approval and conditions by the end of the month.

    • Every effort will be made to keep up but sometimes a month may be skipped. In those cases, hopefully you will get your response by the end of the next month.


  • Temporary Powers

    • You may apply for up to three.
    • Must have a specified time limit, to a maximum of 3 days. No exceptions.


  • Permanent Powers

    • You may apply for one.


  • General

    • You can only add to your domain, not take away from it.

      • e.g. The God of Happiness may not punish you by cursing you to be unhappy.

    • You can be creative but all powers must be relevant to the god's domain.
    • You can earn 2 additional temporary powers and 1 additional permanent power by completing RPs with your god!

      • Each additional temporary power requires 15 competed RPs.
      • An additional permanent power requires 30 completed RPs.
      • RPs must follow the same standard as breeding RPs to qualify.

      • You do not need to use RPs to claim new ("extra") powers if you do not already have your freebie ("basic") slots filled. If you only have 2 approved temp powers, you can apply for the third without 15 RPs.


    • You should not approach any other god owners about overlap. It only matters that your powers suit your domain and we will decide that.


  • The form includes a space for listing your preferred method of being contacted by anybody interested in being affected by your god's powers, this can be as simple as stating that you only accept PMs or it can include an AIM sn (or whatever)! This is not optional, you have to accept that other people just might see fun potential in your god's powers and want to ask after it.

Domain: Chimerism
Temporary Powers: Temporarily changes someone's fur colors. Lasts for one full day.
Permanent Power: Via blessing or curse, Ninati's powers can change someone's eye color, or marking color. If she's willing to bestow the best blessing she can, she'll give someone a patch of fur that mimics her own fur markings. (Not wings or the green and blue hues.) Whatever is changed is part of their DNA, meaning future generations will end up sharing it. **

Form One - Basic Powers

Temporary Powers:
- Orphans and Runaways: If an orphaned cub/pup wishes aloud for a family or to be less lonely - or if one with a family wishes for a different family (ex. an "I hate you, you're not my family!" tantrum) - Sona can hear and locate them, and may very well spirit them away upon finding them.
- Pied Piper: Youths are naturally drawn to Sona-sugandh, and feel compelled to go to and follow her if she's in the vicinity.
Permanent Power:
- Fresh Start: Sona can revert a SoA to their child stage*. This will heal them of any age-related ailments and conditions, but will not heal wounds or disfigurements, erase any defects they were born with, or eliminate a disease or illness not related to their age. They will not retain memories from before their 'reset,' so they will truly be a child.
*SoA's owner is responsible for acquiring/customing this stage, if they did not start at that stage.

Form One - Basic Powers

Temporary Powers:
- Zealous Radius: SoA within close proximity to Bidii will find themselves very motivated and eager to see a project done or an idea brought to fruition. The effect lasts only for about a day, but if Bidii gives them a token to carry around, it will last for three.
- Infectious Words: If a token is given to a SoA, any other SoA within that Soa's presence will be motivated to help the SoA with the token. They have to be within earshot of the SoA, though. Once they leave that area any desire to help will disappear. The token wears out after three days and only works for one goal/idea. The SoA with the token can't decide they want to usurp the leader of a pride one day and then take down an elephant the next.

Permanent Power:
- Zealot: Much like her temporary power, but it remains until Bidii lifts it or another god that can counter the curse/blessing. It drives the affected SoA endlessly towards one idea or goal, leaving room for little else in their mind. They become completely consumed with the desire to see their idea or goal met. If asked for this, Bidii considered it a blessing and will remove it once the goal is achieved. If she feels someone needs to learn a lesson for one reason or another, she considers it a curse and won't remove it until the lesson has been learned.

Temporary Powers:
When he walks he leaves a thin film of rime as he goes this melts almost instantly.
Can create rime slides on hills, these are temporary but they flatten the ground with salty ice.
Can temporarily freeze a part of another creature with a film of rime this can be used either as a cure (for swollen limbs) or as a punishment (to stop someone moving for a while)
Permanent Power:
Cover an area of one square mile in rime perminantly, he cannot in do this.

Form One - Basic Powers

Domain: Distrust
Temporary Powers:
  • Who/what can you trust?

    • Being within a proximity of Tras Bothair will cause of a sense of unease. Creatures within range of the God, whether they know he is there or not, will begin to distrust just about anything. (Examples: Decisions, Routes, Friends, etc.) This may last between 1-3 days depending on the emotional strength of the individual present.


    Permanent Power:
  • Sowing the Seed.

    • Distrust has a way of growing inside of individual creatures, sometimes all it take is a little outside influence to trigger a case of Distrust. Sowing the Seed may happen by will of the God or may be brought upon someone else via sacrifice made by a creature. By bringing Distrust permanently into someones life there may be severe consequences. The base of this power is that the character will no longer trust anyone. This includes family, friends (old and new). The severity will be up to the owners choosing, but will last until another God is able to undo it. (Likely the God of Trust.)

Domain: Petrification
Temporary Powers:
Footsteps in the Sand - Wherever Tafari treads plants, insects, and the very ground itself petrifies. This is only in very close proximity to him and once he is gone the effect wears off with no harm done.
Effect Radius: 3 Inches
Effect Lasts: 15 Seconds

Shhh... - Tafari is very much a grumpy old loner and he dislikes people bothering him. In order to escape from annoying bystanders he will use this power which temporarily petrifies another pet or familiar.
Effect Radius: Point Blank
Effect Lasts: 5 Minutes

Oh No You Don't - When someone is pursuing Tafari and he wishes them to stop he may summon calcium deposits to bind the others legs to the ground so they may not move.
Effect Radius: Point Blank
Effect Lasts: Up to 20 minutes. The calcium cracks and breaks apart freeing the other creature at this point causing no harm.

Permanent Power:

Macabre Artwork - Going off of his inspiration, Lake Natron in Tanzania, Tafari's permanent power is to petrify a creature on the spot. Their body is overtaken by the same petrification that marks Tafari's body, turning them into a rough hewn statue like form. This kills the creature it affects.
Effect Radius: Point Blank
Effect Lasts: Forever
Effect Disability: This completely drains his energy and he will need to find someplace to hide to recover. He dislikes using this ability, as killing for anything other than food sickens him.

- Is it Bad Luck?
Though Tindika doesn’t MEAN to, sometimes being near him can cause his aptitude for messing up to rub off on mortals. He has no real control of when this happens, though he tries his best to keep it controlled. The effects can linger up to three days, and essentially make it a whole lot easier to fail at something than to succeed at it.

Permanent Power:
-None.
He’s just not good enough with his magic to make anything stick.

Temporary Powers:
- Where’d She Go?
Mask can make herself invisible to those around her. Which most gods could probably do, with their abilities to alter their appearances… but hey. Her camouflage is complete, making her impossible to see or hear, or even sense the presence of.

Permanent Power:
-Great.
Maskhara has the ability to make things look like they’ve permanently vanished, blending them into the surroundings. Trees, rocks, even small lakes. They are, however, definitely still there, so denizens of Africa should be careful where they’re stepping if they’ve recently upset a certain goddess.

Temporary Powers:
-Mind Your Manners
Talfrid has the ability to make others act chivalrous: meaning, if someone proves to him that they are rude or selfish, he can make them behave in a courtly, polite manner. This will make them more inclined to do favors for others, to help them, and to serve in a knightly way. It is a good power for teaching lessons, or just making the wicked do good for once in their lives. The effect of this magic must be directly cast by Talfrid, and lasts two days at maximum.

Permanent Power:
-To Serve
Talfrid may give his blessing to a mortal, giving them the ability to call to him for aid whenever they are in great need of a knight. He is a guardian to them, and will fight for them, or do whatever it is they need of him the most.

Jeng has a penchant for a good yarn. When she is talking to mortals, they may feel the strong urge to tell her something about themselves, through a narrative from their past. She loves learning about others, and will always sit and listen to any story that comes to mind.

Permanent Power:
-Make it Up
Jeng’s blessing comes in the form of a boost to storytelling prowess. She can aid in someone’s ability to come up with stories, to weave creative and fulfilling tales, and to feel no hesitation or fear, aka stage fright, when delivering these stories to others. This power only impacts the delivery of the story itself, and do not linger once the tale is told, but the blessing is always there, waiting to be used. It will not aid in telling lies, however, and cannot be used to deceive. If a blessed mortal speaks a lie with the intention of deception, the blessing will be lost forever.

Being around Uzembe makes it a lot easier to forget about something important a mortal was working on. Or even get the feeling that it was not as important as previously thought, and just not want to do it anymore. There won’t be any negative implications for things like that, right?

Permanent Power:
Much like his father, Uzembe has no permanent power. He, however, has just never bothered to figure one out.

Temporary Powers:
-Strength to Prosper
Vikali grants a buff to a lion’s defense and strength, allowing them to fight or work harder for several hours than they were able to before. The effect does not last any longer than half a day, but it can be useful in overcoming difficult situations. It is Vikali’s goal to see mortals endure, after all.

Permanent Power:
-Built to Last
A blessing bestowed by Vikali will grant a mortal SoA a more durable body, allowing them to endure more hardships and live a longer life. They are less susceptible to illnesses, and their bodies are more difficult to injure.

Form One - Basic Powers

God: Afriti
Domain: Villainy
Temporary Powers:
-What Manners?
A stark contrast to her nemesis, the God of Chivalry, Afriti has the power to incline mortals to villainy, leaving them at the whim of their most wicked intentions for at most two days. She usually will cast this power on annoyingly kind or noble mortals that cross her path.

Permanent Power:
-A Dark Prophecy
Afriti’s curse comes with a heavy price. The Goddess of Villainy with mark those she curses with a swipe of her claws, raking them across some part of their body but only deep enough to scar. When she hates someone enough, she does not want to kill them, but make them suffer. She will not inform the mortal what the curse has done to them, however, and will only tell them that they are now destined to suffer. The curse impacts their cubs, should they have any: the cubs are born with a strong predilection towards villainy and evil, and are destined to cause pain to their cursed parent as well as his mate. They will be the bearers of Afriti’s ultimate revenge, as far as her curse decrees. Mortal will has some bearing on how effective these terms are, but the Goddess is powerful and black hearted.

Domain: Warriors
Temporary Powers:
- A Warrior's Calling
Mkhai can grant a mortal a temporary boost to their strength, speed, and stamina. The effect only lasts for a day, and only appear when a mortal is in conflict with another mortal.
- An Itch to Scratch
Mkhai can make a mortal feel the irresistable urge to fight. The effects only last for six hours, and can somewhat be weakened by a strong enough will.

Permanent Power:
- Warrior's Battle
Mkhai can bless an individual with an ability triggered only during battle. The mortal becomes consumed by rage, blinding their regular senses and awarenesses. Their strength, speed, and stamina increased nominally during this battle rage state.

Temporary Powers:
- Song of the Hummingbirds
For a day, Dira can curse an individual to hear the beating of a hummingbird's wings in their ears.

This gift can only be bestowed upon avians. Dira can bless a bird with the ability to fly, hover, maneuver mid-air, and maintain one's balance like a hummingbird.

Temporary Powers:
- Uncertain Visage
Sitiri can grant any mortal an ever-shifting appearance for up to three days. Their pelt, eye color, and skin color will change every couple of seconds, making it nearly impossible to discern their true appearance.

- Faceless
Sitiri can curse any mortal's appearance to be immediately forgotten as soon as they've left the presence of someone else. The other party will know they have been speaking/with someone, but will be unable to remember who they were. The mortal's own self identity remains intact, but no one they will ever come in contact with again will remember their image.

Domain: Friendship
Temporary Powers:
- Forging Bonds
Somo can ease the tension between individuals, lightening the mood surrounding them and making it easier to become friends. The effects only last for half a day.

- Forcing Bonds
Her temporary power is taken to the extreme, where she can make two mortals become the closest of friends despite prior history, dislike, or even hate between them. The power is strongest when the two mortals are together, but can weaken if they become separated for too long. However, it never goes away, and can reignite the moment the two mortals afflicted come in contact again. It does not rid away memories of past wrongs or slights caused against one another. Because of this, the feeling can be quite disconcerting and unsettling, though inescapable.

Temporary Powers:
- Looking for Self: Nashina is naturally attracted to those who are struggling to find themselves. They in turn may find themselves drawn to her if she is nearby.
Permanent Power:
-Forget Yourself: Nashina can completely remove one's identity and set them to a fresh start with only the barest of traces of who they were. They will still retain their age, but who they are and possibly what their name is are forgotten. **

**This is in play solely for people who have lost a key component in what they need to play their character (AKA a plot partner has left/they've had a falling out with an RP partner/etc) and would like the option to move on with the character. I had this power OK'd past Tisiphone/Remembrance and TrinityCowboy/Forgetfulness back in the day.

Temporary Powers:
- Aura of Calm: Those in Wander's direct presence will find it easier to sort out their differences.
- A Final Push: Wander is attracted to those who are trying to either seek or give Forgiveness.
Permanent Power:
-Divine Forgiveness: While he cannot restore one to how they were before a curse was laid upon them, Wander can 'Pardon' them from further effect.

-Law of Self - Iustitia can place a law upon a single person that they cannot break for 3 days
Permanent Power:
-Domain of Law: Iustitia can place a 'law' on an area the size of a small pride that inflicts a curse marking on any who break it. Those outside of that area are unaffected. She can only do this once a month and a place can only have 1 law at a time.

Form One - Basic Powers

God: Utako
Domain: Labyrinths
Temporary Powers:

- Maze Creation: Utako can instantly build a maze (Using natural materials, rocks, dirt, trees found in the area) up to 15 acres. Depending on the size he can keep the maze up to 48 hours. Once time is up or he is done with the maze, the land goes back to normal. While the maze is up, Utako must stay near it.

- Feeling Lost: Utako can make a target feel lost. They will be unsure of how to get to their desired location. With every step they take they feel more and more like they are in a labyrinth. The effects can last up to three days.

- Guiding String: Utako can pluck one of the golden strand of his tail or mane hair and give it to a lost mortal. This hair, once placed on the ground by the mortal will extend in a direction and guide them where they want/need to go. However the hair will only work for a short amount of time, 5 hours maximum. The hair does not have to be given to the mortal willingly and can be taken from Utako.

Permanent Power:
- Maze Creation 2: Utako can create a long lasting maze that can be massive in scale. The maze can be multiple levels (though no more then 3) and can range up to 30 acres. The maze is not indestructible, but if something happens to a wall it will slowly fix itself.

Form One - Basic Powers

Temporary Powers:
-Impressionable: Fellow animals within a span of a few feet of her can be influenced via pheromones, whether its attraction, disgust, or anger towards another creature or object. It is a subtle feeling and can usually be brushed off as a 'mood' rather than something of her influence.

-Beholden: If she focuses her abilities onto one specific lion, she can cause them to be attracted to or disgusted by anything she whims. Usually only lasts as long as they are within a few feet of her, with no lingering after-effects.

-Passing Scents: She can grant a pheromone-like state to any creature that usually lasts for 24 hours, which can cause them to either be the subject of affection, hatred, or avoidance.

Permanent Power:
-Absolute: She can curse a lion to bear a very potent pheromone in order to keep other animals away permanently due to a scent or attract them to the point of fighting over said lion, all depending on her whim.

Temporary Powers:
- Breathe Easy: Any being feeling lonely will find the feeling eased as long as they are within a half mile radius of him. Once past that they will feel loneliness come back with degrees of intensity until after a full mile it has returned completely. This is because Athrun takes their loneliness into himself to spare them the pain, thereby temporarily ridding them of it.
- Keen of the Heart: Can hear the whispers of lonely souls in a ten mile radius, those closest to him are the loudest where those furthest are hard to hear or understand at all. This gives him the opportunity to reach out to others by following a specific voice or problem to the owner.
- This is how it feels: Once you've angered him you'll know, the screaming torment of hundreds of souls long past will fill your head but it won't be your ears hearing it. Just for a short time the one inflicted will walk in his paw prints and hear what he hears. While a mortal or god must have done something truly awful to earn such torture, it only lasts for a day even if it cannot be undone.
Permanent Power:
- Dispel the Pain
He can take away the memories causing the target's loneliness permanently, however the side affects are decided with a 6 sided dice roll.
- 1: the target loses all their memories of the loneliness and those involved.
- 2 - 5: the target retains the memories of the others involved but loses the loneliness.
- 6: they lose everything about the time the loneliness occurred, including individuals they might have known and things unrelated to the cause.
(Last resort use only and any god/dess with the correct powers over memory or past can undo the effects to their whims)
