((Using Emolga [Lucianna], Scyther [Sigurd], Snorunt [Noelle] and Roselia [Blythe]; stats below))

For whatever reason, technical glitch or laziness, Alistair had found himself teleported right to the True Core instead of the Dance Hall. Which he was grateful for, all things considered. He wasn't particularly interested in socializing. Bad enough that the nosy blonde kept prattling on things that were (to him) completely obvious. She, at least, seemed to have a bit of a brain in her head... though that "reason with the rampaging monster" idea hadn't been the greatest. Well, as Fulbright said, the Academy accepted almost anyone.

Still, fighting the legendary Mew sounded... interesting, to say the least. Even if he was fighting alongside a group of other low-level Academy students... it was at least impressive. Something to be put on a resume. Alistair smirked a patented Blackwell grin as he released his lot, spreading them in a semi-circle around him. This was the first time he'd be commanding more than half these Pokemon (almost all of whom were girls; he desperately needed some more testosterone on his team), so he'd need to be thorough. Easy orders first. "Lucianna, you take the front line with Sigurd. Air Slash and X-Scissor."

The little Emogla bounced up in the air, fist extended to bop the big Bug. He returned the favor placcidly, gently tapping her with with the non-bladed side of his arm.

His green eyes flickered to land on the other half of his team. "Noelle and Blythe, I want you two to hang back here with me while you use Water Pulse and Energy Ball. Especially you, Blythe... and here." Alistair knelt quickly, pressing Regal's gift into her flowery hands. Hopefully, between the Miracle Seed and the distance, he'd be able to keep the Roselia from suffering too much under the Mew... or worse. It'd be safest to keep her as close as possible. He stood back up, and gave a curt nod. "Go."

Lucy was the first to move, taking to the air with a bright vicious grin. She was far too excited to be in this fight; she hadn't gotten to see even a little action in the "normal" route"! Well, there was that race, but that hadn't even been a competition! Where was the risk? Well, she was going to find out... she rushed forward, spinning her paws to create an Air Slash which she'd fling forward towards the Mew. >Let's go, big guy!<

>Right behind you.< This wasn't exactly how Sigurd had been expecting his time with the new trainer to go. Did this technically count as "keeping the peace"? The creature he was currently fighting did seem to be causing some sort of disturbance... the peacekeeper simply hoped he stood on the right side of things. If not... well, he'd figure out how to convince his trainer to make things right. For now, he lunged forward alongside the Emolga, swinging his glowing green bladed arm in an X-Scissor strike.

Man, was she glad she'd pranked this idiot! The Snorunt, the newly-dubbed Noelle, bounced on the balls of her tiny feet. to think, only a few months ago she'd been chilling on the mountain (pun intended), and now she was fighting some big glowing pink monster? How radical was that? Chuckling to herself Noelle clapped her little nubs together, summoning her Water Pulse and sending it across the room.

Blythe, on the other hand, couldn't stop shivering. A perfectly natural reaction, all things considered. She disliked conflict, especially on this scale. But as she cupped the Miracle Seed between her hands, she forced herself to stay still and steady. The other members of the team weren't faltering, so she didn't intend to let anyone down. She inhaling slowly, gathering a glowing green mass of energy at the tips of her petals. On the exhale, she released the Energy Ball towards the Mew.

Admittedly, if a bunch of loud children had been standing around plotting how best to take her out, Alice probably would have reacted similarly to the Mew. It was probably a bad thing that she felt so sympathetic towards the creature that seemed very interested in murdering them at the moment, but Alice had always been a bit of a strange Ducklett. And at least... well, she wasn't the one fighting them. She'd leave that to her trusty Pokemon. Releasing Vorpal somewhat reluctantly from her embrace, she took a step back. "Shadow Sneak, Charge Beam, and Confusion, if you please."

For a brief moment, Vorpal considered disobeying Alice and going for with a Fury Cutter attack. He'd just learned the thing, and hadn't gotten a chance to test it out. This Mew would be a perfect specimen! But he understood the reasoning-- Shadow Sneak could be used from far away, and wouldn't put him in as much risk. Until they could assess the situation more clearly, it was best to keep out of harm's reach. Well, not jumping up in front of harm and trying to punch it in the face. With a flick of his banner, he sent his shadow out it grasp the Mew in a sneaky attack.

The Blitzle stuck her tongue out as she focused the new energy inside her. She was starting to love this weird beam, even if it wasn't as bouncy as her Quick Attack! But it made her feel bouncy... was that close? Maybe? Probably? Who knew? Not Maddie. But she DID know that she wanted to try something different... and that meant channeling the Charge Beam on her chest, and unleashing it like some sort of deranged Care Bear stare. Made of electricity and joy.

Basil, meanwhile, had clambered atop of Maddie's head. She was a delightful ottoman! The absolute best! And she was currently being a wonderful light house as well. This Blitzle could comprise of several architectural fixtures all on her own! But then what would he make of the others... ah yes! Concrete! This would be a wonderful city... despite his inane babbles, he was actually attempting to beam his weird steam-of-consciousness thoughts right into the Mew's brain. It wasn't called Confusion for nothing.

Seemed the most logical plan was to attack all at once. He'd watch closely to see what worked and what didn't. In the mean time, he had to pull his weight as well. "Raiden, Thunderwave! Pansear, Taunt!" If he could paralyze the Mew, it'd be hindered, and taunting would prevent it from using anything but attacks, cutting out its status and defensive moves. Also, focus punch probably wouldn't even do anything against it.

User Image Hiro's mouth would almost drop open the moment he realized that everyone ...literally everyone was attacking a single pokemon. This wasn't fair, not at all. He had thought the Mew would split into multiple dulipicates of itself and everyone would be required to fight them, but not that it would literally be a no holds bar against a single pokemon.

It wasn't fair.

The world's greatest pokemon trainer did not attack a singular pokemon with a army.

It just wasn't done.

"Well, I think we should sit this one out."

Hiro would announce loudly.

"I refuse to be a part of this joke. How many trainers does it take to defeat a Mew?"

He would point at the group and literally start to go back towards the door.

Blight would grab his pant's leg to stop him and he would be surprise to find that Despair would block his way as well. The look on her face was pure rage. This was the fight of a life time and Hiro wanted to back out.

No way, she wasn't going to demonstrate her greatness.

Blight stop him for another reason, because though Hiro was saying this was an unfair battle which was the reason for his departure many others could see it another way.

He was running away.

The boy looked down at both pokemon, and was surprise at the number. He would look for his third pokemon as Fluke was the only one who hadn't gone after him and the bug pokemon was simply looking at their opponent. He would nod back at his trainer, so he could see as well. Their attacks ...the blows that were being done wasn't doing much.

This wasn't an unworthy battle.

This would take everything they got and more.

Hiro wasn't completely convince but he would sigh.

"If you guys really want a piece of this, fine. But, a great trainer doesn't stoop this low ... but just this once I will do it."

He turned back around.

"Let's show them what we can do, start off, Blight use Amnesia and forget the move growl for now."

Despair, I want you to use Curse. You need to get stronger before you attack, both of you.

Fluke, your strength will come another way, use Fury Cutter."

The boy was commanding all of his pokemon as they all would smile at him and each took their position. Each one was ready to go as they all jumped to follow the command.

They were going to show everyone just how strong they are.

Just beyond the door, it seemed a fight had just broken out. Several other students were having their pokemon fire off attacks at some little pink pokemon floating around. Alexander winced as whatever it was... Was pretty obviously some sort of psychic type. Sure, that meant Titania might have a chance at surviving the fight, but it also meant her attacks wouldn't be all that effective against their target. Still, he couldn't just stand there and let the others fight.

Frowning, the boy started issuing his own commands to his pokemon.
"For now, don't worry about getting in close, Odette. Just fire off shots of Water Gun for now. If it closes in, switch to Gust until it gets blown off course." he explained to the water pokemon, who seemed content with the idea of staying far away from the angry pink floater. "As for you, Titania, you're not going to be able to do much against this thing right now, but it can't do much against you, either. For now, just try to use Psycho Cut to provoke it and present yourself as a good target. Each hit aimed at you is one a less durable pokemon won't have to take." True, not the kindest order for his reborn starter, but nice wasn't about to win this fight.

Odette, perfectly content with her commands, spat some water in an attempt to hit the mew. It wasn't much, but considering the attacks of the other students, it would hopefully be enough to help damage the legendary pokemon a bit. Titania, on the other hand, was rather peeved that she was more or less supposed to play poke the furfrou, but she did understand that her only attack wasn't the best one to use against a psychic pokemon, so she tried to scratch the mew on one of its lower passes with her Psycho Cut attack. Neither one was likely to do much, but it'd probably be better than nothing.

Argyle would actually roll his eyes as a girl, a little blond one, began prattling off various facts about Mew. Really was there anyone in this room that didn't know the weakness of a Psychic-type Pokemon? Was it important? Perhaps, but doubtless even THAT would be particularly helpful. This wasn't just some random Mew they were meeting in the wild. This was the core of the Mirage Arena, lord Arceus only knew what the organization had done to it.

Of course there was always the chance the boy was just annoyed by someone pointing out Jekyll's sever allergic reaction to Psychic-type attacks. After all they were even prepared for that! Any Psychic-type that looked at the Croagunk wrong was in for an Astonish-ing surprise.

Jekyll on the otherhand had been watching the show elsewhere. He wasn't much interested in smarty word speak. Besides the girl didn't look like she might do something hilariously dumb....oh oh! Like the kid in the beanie with the feather duster! Quickguard? Selfish much! Here they all were getting ready to lay the smackdown on a Legendary and he was just shielding his own Pokemon!

At this point Argyle's gaze shifted to the boy actually trying to leave the fight. Was he stupid, or just insubordinate. It didn't matter if this was fair. They were here under orders by their superiors, more so they were part of what had been branded an evil organization. Really the boy needed to shape up or get out of their way.

Speaking of in the way....he supposed it was time to join the battle.

Directing Jekyll to hop onto the floor, the young Butler turned Trainer would start issuing his commands "Jekyll use Meditate, no point in wasting our breath striking at it normally. Thanatos use Screech, let's see if it can keep in the air when it's ears are bleeding" Lastly the child would look at Sybelle. Strictly speaking Astonish wouldn't do them any good at this point, and she didn't have any moves to boost herself, which left one option. "Sybelle use Ice Punch. Lets see if we can turn this Mew into an ice sculpture for the Dance Hall!"

For once the Croagunk would actually turn around to stare at upon hearing the boy's command. Meditate? Really? Everyone else was out their unleashing their EX-Union-Summon-Skills and he wanted him to literally sit down and close his eyes. Boring. This was less interesting than when Feebas played Poker. Fiiiiiine.

Grumbling slightly, the rubbery amphibian would sit down, crossing his legs and closing his eyes as he began to chant ">Oohm-shamalama-lama. Oohm Waka Wakka Waka<" Of course rather than seeking power through piece of mind, the Croagunk was just dwelling on various ways to hurt the Mew.

Thanatos would simply nod his head, striking his bone against the ground once as a way of adding additional confirmation he understood. He didn't speak often, but it would seem that now his voice must be the herald of this Mew's end.

Inhaling deeply, Thanatos would raise his head and let loose a bone rattling cry of his own!

Sybelle would simple snicker, floating forward as the rest of her group was held back. ">Mwehehe~! Oh I hope you put on more of a show than Deoxys!<" Rising higher in the air to position herself for a fall, the Gastly would begin mixing the various gases that made up her form. When the mixture was right her entire body would freeze, and down she would go. As always for lack of hands she'd use her entire body as one giant FIST!

[Roll #1: Jekyll/Roll #2: Sybelle/ Roll#3: Thanatos]

Starter Pokemon: Croagunk [M]
Name & Level: Jekyll, Lv 6
[Temperament] Naughty
Bio:The story of how Argyle met Jekyll is a bit of an odd one. After purchasing a bulk shipment of skin rejuvenating mud from Sinnoh's Great Marsh (Guarnteed to take twenty years off your appearance!), Mistress Rosevelt had set aside some time for a fully immersive experience with the product, during which she received quite the surprise. It would seem the mud had come with stowaway in the form of an egg. Unfortunately it was about this same time the egg decided to hatch, splattering the aristocratic woman with muck and eggshell. After a shriek and shrill cry for the nearest Argyle to attend her, Verde arrived and was immediately ordered to dispose of the creature, although not before cleaning up the mess it had created. Whispering a snide remark just below his breath, both Mistress and Argyle were in for a surprise when the newly born Croagunk began to snicker devilishly. It seemed the Poison-type had heard the boy, and shared his sense of humor. Amused by this fact the young Butler then went about the task of convincing Mistress Rosevelt that the Croagunk would be quite useful in his regular duties, allowing him to make the manor to "shine as radiantly as you do Mistress Rosevelt". Little more in the way of convincing was required on the boy's part, and so he obtained his first and for the time being only Pokemon.

Since then Jekyll has proven a good match for Argyle, frequently snickering at the boy's comments be they made aloud, or simply implied. Unlike Argyle however Jekyll does nothing to hide his wicked nature, frequently mocking others quite openly and then laughing about it. Though cruel he is not crude, and more than willingly to amuse himself by catching the enemy off guard.

Bio: While traversing the bizarre terrain of The Island of New Beginning's third ring, and after a particularly awful joke by Jekyll, Argyle would be altered to the presence of a Gastly by her insane giggling. Immediately seeing the advantages of owning a Ghost-type, the youth would go about putting on a comedy routine. Relying on an old act performed for his mistress's pets, and the hope that Jekyll would do his part, the pair sent the Gastly bowling over with laughter. So amused by the duo's antics, Sybelle decided to stick around in hopes of future entertainment.

Pokemon: Cubone [M]
Name & Level: Thanatos, Lv 5
[Temperament] Quiet
Bio: Argyle's meeting with Thanatos was the finale to a rather morbid series of encounters. Having confronted several Cubone prior, Argyle and his Pokemon had obtained quite the reputation among their number by the time he reached the burial site guarded by Thanatos. Strongly disapproving of Jekyll's lack of respect for the dead, the two soon came to blows....with Thanatos as the victor. Jekyll went down in a single blow, and as far as Thanatos had been concerned that was to be the end of it; but Argyle had other plans. Claiming it was compensation for knocking out Jekyll, the boy captured the Cubone in a single throw. Thanatos took this turn of events oddly well, remaining set in his goals regardless of the path he must take.

Though near consumed buy it's rage, the Mew was still far more powerful and experienced than it's foes. Most attacks would be evaded easily, and those which the Legendary could not would merely be deflected. None were powerful enough to do it true harm. Yet there was one whom had proven a threat....who could have done tremendous damage had it only been strong enough.

The Mew's tail flicked...and for a moment it laughed. Not the sound of a child at play, but a deeply unsettling sound which chilled directly to the soul. The hair on Mew's body began to rise, it's skin beginning to bubble. Suddenly it's form became obscured....like a Mirage vanishing in the desert...a blink later and the group of students were not faced with the legendary Mew....but a large pink Honedge. Yes, Vorpal had proven the greatest threat, and so it assumed his form.

Flourishing it's blade like body, the newly minted Honedge would begin to glow green. One Pokemon had been the greatest threat, but there was another whom had come close. Channeling it's legendary power, the transformed Mew would surge toward's Hiro's team. When it swung it's body, it would be in order to strike all three of the boy's Pokemon with Fury Cutter! Charged as it was, it seemed it could push a move beyond it's natural range!

Argyle's eyes narrowed. Certainly that could have gone better. Sybelle had done well. Better than most, but one out of three wasn't exactly a victory. Maybe now was the time to rectify that however. The Mew was weak....possibly due to adjusting to a new form. Now was an excellent time to strike...though with something like this, there was always the chance for....consequences.

"Jekyll off your butt! Its time to make a mess of this Mew's plans! Use Mud-Slap!" The boy commanded, turning his attention to his rapidly thawing ghost across the room "Sybelle skip the punch-line, use Astonish! Thanatos follow up with another Screech. Lets make this sword sing!" Now was the time for a Counter-attack.

Unsurprisingly Jekyll was on his feet in moments. Not like he'd been focusing anyway. Snickering to himself, the Poison-type grinned from ear to ear as he croaked ">Let's get gross!<" Extending his long tongue, the Croagunk would then proceed to lick the floor before horking up something deep from within his body. After a bit of swishing and gargling, he would then discharge an oozing mass of sludge and grim. His 'mud' well in hand, the Craogunk would ball it up and fling it like a fastball. With any luck this would be one hell of a slap across the cheek!

Gigglign like a loon, Sybelle's gases would rise and reform in the air ">Mweehehe! Silly human! The punch-line comes after the joke! I promise you this one is...<" She vanished, appearing beside the Mew/Honedge and swinging her tongue ">...ASTONISH-ING! Eh eh? Get it?<"

Thanatos would simply knock his bone once against the floor again. The Mew was strong, the moment before had not been it's doom....but it was getting sloppy. In the wild, such mistakes were....costly. Inhaling deeply, the Cubone would once more cry out. Perhaps this time the sound would be left ringing in Mew's skull.

[Roll #1: Jekyll/Roll #2: Sybelle/ Roll#3: Thanatos]

User Image

Pokemon: Gastly [F]
Name & Level: Sybelle, Lv 6
[Temperament] Impish

As the Mew transformed, the girl saw it charged toward a student and his group of Pokemon. This was the perfect opportunity. Since it could only focus on one, she glanced at her own Pokemon."Longwei, Rage. Qiang, Steel Wing. Li, Tackle and Sai, Metal Claw." she repeated quickly. There was no time to waste!

The Shieldon watched as the newly transformed pink Honedge ran away. Or it seemed in his eyes. The Pokemon would charge attempting to Tackle it from behind enthusiastically. Admire me~

Tucking his wings against his body, he would dive to get a bit lower before his wing glowed silver as he tried to strike the pink Pokemon with it!

The rage hadn't been good enough. The Houndour let loose a snarl letting the anger build and the bloodlust pulse through his body. He charged ready to show the Rage he was feeling!

The Gligar continued to have a blank stare on his face. This battle... Claw glowing silver, he would attempt to slash the pink Honedge with it!

Gin continued to look way too happy about this battle. This was something to really get the adrenaline pumping through the young male's veins. "Takeshi. Chiyome. Go for it."

The Charmander ran as fast as his two legs would carry him, maw open trying to Bite down!

Chiyome leapt into the air hovering for a few seconds. Finally she would fly quickly to try and slash through the Pokemon with Steel Wing!

User Image It shifted, the pokemon turned from one shape to another as it turned into a blade, and Hiro who had thought at first this fight was beneath him could only whistle. The pokemon had literally shrugged off the attacks of a dozen pokemon as though it wasn't nothing.

This wasn't a walk in the park and the boy was smiling like mad man as the pokemon change and swung it's attention ...towards of all things, them.

He was at that moment the embodiment of a peacock with the attention on him, but he didn't have time to preen as it attacked.

"Blight behind Despair, you need to defend.

"Despair, now is your time to shine counter that attack ...by holding that blade still for a moment. I need you to keep it still only for a moment before you use Wood Hammer."

Yes grass type moves were cut in half against it, but still, an opening was an opening as Despair moved to catch the blade as she stood in front of Blight. The grass type wasn't happy about hiding, but her only attack was useless against this pokemon and it was stupid to take a chance that Despair missed her hold and then she would skewer open. Of all the attacks, she was the one with the big weakness against the incoming attack.

She wasn't happy, but she complied.

"Fluke use Night Slash."

Once he was clear, Despair would attempt to push the blade into the ground and hit with what looked almost to be a wrestling move as she rush forward with an arm out in a cloth line move.

Despair was looking to cause some major pain since they had the pokemon's attention.

Though her sharing of information didn't get any vocal recognition, it does get noticed. More notably by two boys, elitist intellectuals who don't look past their own knowledge or consider that not everyone is so studious or book smart, with talents that lie in other fields. Either unaffected by or not having noticed their disdain, Poppy watches as the battle plays out. Many Pokemon miss, while those that do hit have no effect. They're all too weak for their attacks to do much against its high defense.

In the wake of their joined attacks, the Mew makes its own first action, transforming into a Honedge. It'd be much easier to fight like that. Same as the previous time, Poppy lists off the weaknesses and type advantages. Obvious or not, someone should say it to keep everyone on the same page and somewhat coordinated. "As a Ghost/Steel type, it is still weak to both Ghost and Dark moves, with the added weaknesses of Ground and Fire, making more of our pokemon more effective against it. Normal, Fighting, and Poison type moves will have no effect against it. Electric and Water type moves have regular effectiveness, while all other move types aren't very effective." They could use that information how they wanted to plan more effective attacks.

Rather than call for Shinx to join in the attack, she gives the call for another Howl. "Use Howl again, Shinx, get your attack higher to break through its defenses later." The electric cub Pokemon lets loose another Howl to boost its attack power again.

The Mew not only changed form, but changed types. Honedge was a ghost and steel type...steel... "Raiden, Flame Burst! Pansear, Taunt again!" Focus punch would have no effect, and a well hitting Flame Burst might actually do some decent damage. Also, it seemed occupied going after Hiro's team. All at once, no less. Raiden hissed as a fireball formed in his mouth, but it was more the hiss of the sizzle than his own noise. Pansear mocked the legendary ghost sword. >"Hey, rust bucket, where ya aimin!?"< When it transformed, it would hopefully have given up the superior defenses it held before.

Nothing. That was what everyone's attacks did. A whole lot of nothing. Even Titania, who had landed a solid strike with her attack, didn't have a speck of blood or tuft of fur to show for it. But it looked like one of the attackers, a honedge, was able to at least get the attention of the mew. Enough attention for the legendary pokemon to decide the sword's form might have been better suited to the battle than its own. It didn't draw the transforming pokemon's full ire, though. That seemed to be reserved for the trio consisting of a sudowoodo, a bulbasaur, and a dwebble.

Titania was irate at being brushed off like she was.
                                  >Come back here, you form-changing freak!< she shouted as she swept her arm at the pokemon's new form, attempting to slice into it with another Psycho Cut. Not that it'd do much, but it was worth a shot. Besides, it was either that or stand there like an idiot since she didn't have any other attacks yet. One of these days she'd get something to change things up with, but until then she'd have to be a one-note-wonder.

Alexander saw his pokemon's attempt at blindsiding the mew and nodded once in agreement with the pawniard's attempt, even if he had no idea what the reason was behind it.
"You keep attacking as well, Odette," he instructed, seeing that the psychic pokemon was obviously having some trouble getting its new form to work right. Considering the alternative, the boy had no problem kicking an opponent while they were down, or at least getting in some cheap strikes while they were reeling.

Thankfully, the psychic pokemon was ignoring the group she was part of, so Odette had no problems with continuing to spray water at the mew. Even though it didn't exactly seem to be a mew anymore. Still, the water attack would be no worse than it had been, at least that's what the water bird was hoping. Maybe it'd be even more effective, at least more so than trying to hit its strong defense.
