Upraising Crater - is a hostile land. It is a small area that is encased in nothing but rock and stone. There isn't food or water here, and food would have to be grown or left in order for the Pokemon to be able to survive here. As for water, either a water type or another form of water source must be left behind or else the Pokemon might die while the trainer is away.

On the first day here, Shinx did not obey in the Battle Room and paid for it when he lost. After getting him healed, he won his next attempt as he decided listening might be in his best interest.
He caused trouble with the woman in the Poké-lot assignment area. After we settled in to ours I kept him in his pokeball before I went to class for my mission.
Upon leaving the Trickster classroom to go to the Pokemon Center I was teleported to the Arena by an Abra for some sort of winter event, but soon after my arrival the Academy was attacked. I took the easiest route as we are still weak as a team and in general.
On the path I chose, I interacted with and tolerated the whims of the baby Pokemon in the meadow and then later the daycare further along the path. There I stopped an enemy attempting to steal a Munchlax, who gratefully brought what I assumed to be the head caretaker, a Blissey. She healed Shinx and we moved on, and were the first to complete our respective paths.
Only two others finished their paths completely, and the rest were soon brought back to face the power core of the Mirage Arena, the legendary Mew. It was taken down by the group of gathered students in three turns, and when we had finished we were given rewards. An egg of our choosing, based on Pokemon we had interacted with on our paths, a Secret Santa gift, and a reward for participating in the battle against Mew. I chose a Mime Jr. egg, the Seed of Experience, and received an Old Rod as my secret Santa gift.
After everyone obtained their gifts we were returned to where we had been previously.
Following the provided directions to locate her plot of land, Poppy arrives to the aptly named crater. Though she had named it for the geological term depression, to think of it as a new place to live or base of operations would be a depressing thought for many. To the emotionless Poppy, it is met with an appraising look, and she notes the high fence to keep others from falling in and to mark it as property. Moving along the perimeter, she finds a trapdoor with an empty spot for a lock. Upon opening it, she spies a ladder leading down, and what she assumes is a tunnel leading to the crater. Pulling over the luggage she had collected after obtaining the Poke-lot, she drops them down first before climbing down after them.
Landing at the bottom with a soft thump on the dirt, she reaches into her pocket to pull out a pokeball. Releasing Shinx into the tunnel, he catches his bearings and sniffs at the dusty air before looking to her while she tucks his pokeball away. Leaning down to pick her luggage back up, she gestures ahead of her into the tunnel, to where she can see the metal door leading out into the crater. "Go ahead and take a look, when we get into the crater we will need to find a spot to release the capsule on." He bounds ahead without much prompting, reaching the door before her and circling in front of it until she reaches it to open it. It also has a spot for a lock, and what looks to be a viewing slider.
Shinx takes off out the door to explore the area, slipping up occasionally on loose rocks littering the area. When Poppy leaves the tunnel and examines the crater, she notes that all along the sides it is dotted with various holes of different sizes along the inside. Picking her way carefully down the side with her luggage held in either hand, she calls for Shinx's attention, who is nearly at the bottom of the crater by now. "Shinx, look for the largest cave here." Eager to do so, he starts poking his head into all the holes he can find, scampering around and getting his fur covered in dust and dirt while he does. With the both of them looking, Shinx running around to each one and Poppy standing in place and scanning the crater's walls, it doesn't take long for them to locate the biggest cave there, near the bottom but about two levels higher than it. Making her way down to it with her luggage, Poppy sets them down by the entrance to the shallow but roomy cave.
Pulling the capsule from her pocket, she presses the button and tosses it inside, sure to aim nearer to the middle so it has room to expand. In a puff of white, it gets larger as it seems to unfold into a rough, rocky textured mini house. It was more like a spacious shed than a house, but its size would suit her needs well for now, and there was still room in the cave for it to get an upgrade. Approaching it, she locates the key to the door in the cup of the light by the door, and pulling it out she unlocks the door and pushes it open. Shinx darts in right away to explore it while Poppy gathers her luggage to bring inside and unpack. There is a kitchen area, a space that serves as a living room with a chair next to a lamp and a little coffee table, and then a bedroom portion with a single bed and dresser beside it. The only room walled off from the others is the bathroom, which only has a single wall separating it from the others. It would do just fine, and as she unpacks her clothes and bathroom items she tests the water. None yet, but there does seem to be electricity.
Exiting her home she moves around behind it and spots a water tank and a small generator, both of which she would have to take care of. Fortunately, Shinx was an electric type and once he had a grasp on his electric abilities, he would be able to charge the generator when needed, but she would need a water type in order to fill up the water tank and keep other Pokemon stored here well off. At some point she will also have to select a spot to grow berry bushes and dig up the ground in order to make it work, but that's for another time. Cleaning up the best she can without water, she brushes dirt and dust out of Shinx's fur and pats him clean before she's reading. "You will be staying in your pokeball so you don't cause trouble for the professor. I expect you to cooperate, so be good." Though he wasn't pleased, he submitted to her returning him to his pokeball, and rather than being stored in her pocket again, this time she has shouldered a sling bag and stored him in a pocket specifically for pokeballs, in the first slot. Locking up her house, she makes her way out of the cave and out of the crater, leaving her Poke-lot to return to the school and her class.
Arriving at her lot after a bathroom break at the school, Poppy takes the path down to Depression carefully. It's harder to get down the ladder with the egg container in her arms, but she manages well enough. Making her way down through the tunnel and out into the crater itself, she takes her time on the way down to the cave her little home is located in. Unlocking the door with her key, she heads inside and sets the egg container on her bed. Retrieving one of her bags that she used for her luggage, a backpack, she tests to see if the egg container will fit within it securely. It's a bit of a tight fit, and takes a struggle to zip up, but she completes her task. This way will be much easier to carry the egg around.

Poppy takes a break after her long day, making use of her kitchen to make PBJ sandwiches, two for herself and one for Shinx. With boxed juice as her drink (and a bowl of some for Shinx), she sets down to eat with him. Once they're done and content, she cleans up all the dishes except for the bowl of juice by taking them and setting them by the sink to be dealt with when she has running water. "Shinx, you can run out and about all you like, I'm going to rest."
Keeping the door open wide enough for Shinx to get in and out, she returns to her bed to pull the egg container out of the backpack and set it on the dresser beside her bed. Goodnight dear egg. Changing into her pajamas, she climbs into bed to rest. Shinx comes inside after some time running about outside, doing his own potty business, and shakes off the dust and dirt. Stopping by the bowl of juice to lap at it, he then moves over to jump onto the bed with the sleeping Poppy and curls up against her feet for a long nap.
After a goodnight's rest, Poppy awoke early, any remnants of sleep draining out of her system to leave her wide awake. No drowsy awakenings for her, as soon as she was up she was fully awake. Climbing out of bed, she grabs a change of clothes and heads into her bathroom to change and brush her hair. Though she doesn't have any water, she uses her toothbrush dry and without the toothpaste, before swishing a mouthful of mouth wash and spitting it into the sink. Once done with her bathroom routine (using the toilet would wait until she could use the school's bathroom), she moves into the kitchen to prepare two sandwiches and more juice, refilling Shinx's mostly empty bowl.
When the sandwiches are ready, she calls to the still sleeping Shinx on her bed. "Shinx, wake up. It's time to eat before we go." That was all he was going to get from her. Shinx stirs and lifts his head to blink blearily at her, and after a moment he gives a yawn to show off all his tiny fangs. Stretching out on the bed, he rolls over to face away from her to keep sleeping, and unintentionally falls right off the bed with a thump. Tough break bud. After a grumpy moment sitting there, he gets up and heads straight for the bowl of juice to drink his fill, and he sets on eating his sandwich when she places it down for him.
Eating her own sandwich at a leisurely pace, Poppy finishes it just before Shinx finishes his, and gets up to gather the plates and return them to the counter beside the sink. They're the same ones she used the other day, all they had were bread crumbs and small streaks of pbj on them so there was no reason not to re-use them. Once Shinx finishes he laps from the bowl again before trotting outside to do his business, and Poppy takes his sandwich plate and juice bowl. The juice bowl goes into the compact fridge while the plate goes with her own, and then she heads back to her bags by her bed. Slinging on her shoulder strap bag on first with all of her items, she then puts the egg container on the dresser back into the backpack, zipping it up with the same struggle as before but managing it. Once it's on, she puts on the backpack and checks for her keys, leaving her house and locking it up.
Both she and Shinx make their way back up to the tunnel leading up to the lot's entrance, and then leave for the Pokecenter where she'll take a potty break before leaving for the island.
