Trained to shoulder the burden of attacks both mental and physical, Aegis students are the stalwart defenders of Akumu Academy. These trainers weather the most ferocious assaults not to be the last man standing, but to protect the comrades at their back. They take the damage because they can handle it, leaving those who fight with mind and might to do their part in turn.

As you enter the classroom the scent of lavender hits you immediately, the smoke briefly obscuring your vision. In all four corners of the room incense burn, candles of varying heights flickering alongside them. The place gives off a bit of a mystic feel, although aside from those two elements and a rather gaudy metal table in the corner, the room is actually rather normal. Cupboards sit at the back for storage, short waist high bookshelves along one wall, and number of desks meticulously placed in rows filling the bulk. It almost looked like a standard classroom. Of course such thoughts would be immediately dismissed with one look at the man sitting behind the teacher's desk, a rather gaunt fellow who appeared to be wearing a robe of all things.

Classroom Professor:
[Current]
Claudus Alexei Strominoff

User Image

Born in the far northern regions of this Pokemon filled world, Professor Strominoff, simply called Claude by his close personal acquaintances, is known to be an absent minded, paranoid, and superstitious man. Why then, you might ask, was such a man chosen to teach the next generation? Despite his faults Professor Strominoff has proven time and again to be an excellent example of what Aegis Class stands for. Always preparing the best defense in any situation, standing tall and weathering the storm despite all odds. Truly a figure to inspire others on the battlefield. That said even the best soldier is just a man, and after a particularly messy incident Claude was pulled from the field and placed in the classroom in hopes that at least some of his past exploits might inspire those yet to hit the front line.

Pushing the door open carefully, Alice entered the classroom. She couldn't help it, she was curious! The smell confused her slightly; had she come to the wrong place? Did the Academy have a perfume section, or perhaps a gift shop? Or was this a new type of warfare they needed to test out? Well, nothing to gain by standing around looking nervous. Gently tugging on Vorpal's cloth (the ghostly sword was floating closer to the candles, very interested in poking them; UNUSUAL AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS THINGS NEEDED TO BE POKED), she continued to step forward into this strange new land. "Um, hello?" she asked, a bit disoriented. "I'm a new Aegis student, and I believe this is the classroom I'm supposed to come to?"

"Stop zere" A deep, gruff voice would command Alice from the front of the room. Seated behind a large, well polished but heavily scuffed, oak desk was a man dressed in what could only be described as a robe. With the hood up, hair over his eyes, it was impossible to view the man's face clearly, but there was little doubt that was where the voice had come from. "Sit" He instructed, indicating the desk nearest the girl. Taking a lighter from his pocket the man would light two candles on either side of his desk, one black, the other white, before reaching into a pouch sitting in front of him. Shaking his hand about inside, Alice and Vorpal would hear a faint clinking sound like someone preparing to roll dice. They'd soon find this man was not a gambler though....at least, not of that sort.

Removing his hand from the bag, a thin pasty thing, the man would scatter a number of half painted pebbles across the desk. Lifting the opposite hand he'd then point to a few of these stones in particular, tracing his finger over what appeared to be runes etched in gold. Leaning forward for a moment the man appeared deep in thought, then all at once his shoulders would slump, suddenly relaxing. "хорошо (khorosho)" The man muttered to himself before lowering his hood. Gathering the runes back into their pouch, the man would then pull back his hood, revealing a tangled mess of black hair, a gaunt face, and eyes with heavy bags. "Stones sehing you ally. Professor Claudus Alexei Strominoff is name. Ooho you being?" The man asked, staring deep into the girl's eyes as he folded his hands in front of himself.

Alice couldn't help jumping with surprised when she heard the strange voice echo out into the classroom. Vorpal started to attention, pointy end towards the potential threat. The small girl put her hand on his hilt, trying to calm him. Just because this place was a little creepy... and that man at the front of the room wasn't helping the atmosphere. Still, she had no reason not to listen, and she sat down at the desk, her Honedge hovering at her side.. She couldn't help feeling both excited and uncomfortable. She was a student! A real student in a real class! She ran her tongue over the roof of her mouth nervously, watching the man as he... rolled his dice?

And more! How odd. She waited patiently, resisting the urge to fidget, and found herself meeting his eyes when he looked up. Claudus Alexei Strominoff... that was a mouthful. And so was that accent. She leaned forward, trying to make sure she heard him as he spoke. "Stones..." she murmured, confused, but managed to answer him. "Um, my name is Alice Omega. I'm a new student for the Aegis Class... oh!" She motioned to the currently on-edge sword at her side. "And this is Vorpal. It's nice to meet you, Professor." Even if she wasn't sure what he was doing, she needed to be polite.

Professor Strominoff would give a simple, brief nod to the girl's words, clearly ignoring the most threatening stance of her Honedge. Nothing had predicted danger from pointed or bladed objects today. Nor was anything metal supposed to be unlucky this week. This could change but for now he would trust in his readings.

Rising from his chair, the wood squeaking against the floor as it was pushed back, the man would dust himself off before proceeding around and forward. Slipping his hands into his voluminous sleeves, each step slow and deliberate as he proceeded forward. It would only take a short glance to see the man was quite carefully avoiding every crack of space between the tiles on the floor. If he had his way the entire floor would be replaced but for now...he made do. "Student Alice, your first mission is going to Eyes-land of New Beginnings" The Professor began as he opened a cupboard at the back of the room "Going zere you must to cahtching Pokemon. Ahtleast one. You must ahlso be tehking picture" he explained, taking out a number of items from the cupboards and gathering them together in a small, cheap wicker basket. Closing the doors, and carefully making his way back towards the front the man would go on to add "Picture tehking of Stone. One causing evolution in Pokemon. You vill know vhen seeing" He stated, coming up along side Alice and placing the basket on the desk. She'd now be able to see that it contained 3 Pokeballs, 1 Potion, and a Snap Shot Camera. "To be getting zere, you must be going to Pokemon Center. Circling to bahck, ahnd valking down stairs. Boat be meeting you zere. Questions?" It would seem his explanation was over.

Alice listened with rapt attention to Strominoff-- partially because that accent convinced her that if she stopped listening for a second, she'd never understand what he went on about, but mostly because she genuinely wanted to know how a be a normal student with normal lectures behaved. Well... normal being the relative term here. Was he attempting to trigger some sort of tile-activated device? What strange men of science resided here!

Vorpal finally lowered himself, resting carefully at Alice's side. He rolled his eye as he watched and listened to the shady professor. Were they letting just ANYONE teach at this place? First that bizarre Nightmare thing, and now this? He inched closer to Alice, cloth now wrapped around her arm. Constant vigilance!

Patting her jumpy partner, she lightly grabbed the basket Strominoff placed before her. Alice couldn't help feeling touched-- sure, it was small, but it was something! "Pokemon, picture, stairs... got it!" She nodded, looking up earnestly at the tall (by her perspective, at least) man. "Thank you, Professor! We'll do our best. C'mon,Vorpal." She tugged the Honedge (who was currently glaring a dagger at the Professor) with her, and bounded out of the room.

The boy hadn't been sure exactly what he expected when he entered the classroom, but it didn't really match up with what he was seeing. True, most of the room looked ordinary, which was probably surprising in and of itself. But the lavender incense burning and the candles surrounding them seemed a bit odd to the boy. Still, this was the class Alexander was to be attending, of that he had made sure about two or three times before entering the room so as not to seem like some idiot. Alex took as deep a breath as he could without coughing on the smoke before stepping forward into the room, keeping a hand on Glaive to make sure the pawniard didn't wander off.

Alexander would first be alerted to the presence of another in the room by the slight squeaky of a chair moving a few centimeters back. Sitting at the large oak desk, certainly not standard issue, at the front of the class was a man garbed in what could only be described as a multicolored robe. He gave the youth something of an odd look before turning to a deck of cards he was meticulously shuffling in his hands. Once they were nice and neat he would place the deck upon his desk, drawing several and placing them face down in a pattern. From there he would close his eyes, taking a deep breath and filling his lungs far better than Alexander evidently could in this environment. When his eyes opened once more he'd begin flipping the cards over one by one, staring at each for a few moments as he deciphered it's meaning. When he found he was satisfied with the answer, the man would gesture with one hand to his visitor "Sit" He instructed in a gruff voice.

As he gathered up the cards, reshuffling them he would begin speaking again "Professor Claudus Alexei Strominoff is name. Ooho you being? Cards noht be knowing you, but sensing bahd luck behind. Not mine, so is okay" The man said in his heavy accent, watching the child carefully, not sparing the cards even a glance as he re-arranged them upon the table, prepared for another reading.

Alexander suddenly stopped when he heard the squeak of a chair moving, since he hadn't quite noticed the man sitting at the desk at the front of the room earlier. Well, he sure noticed the man now, and thought it odd that the man was messing with a deck of cards. He kept his mouth shut, though, and took the indicated seat when told to by the man. Glaive wasn't quite as sure about following the instruction, but still kept by his trainer's side when the boy sat down at one of the desks. That didn't keep the pawniard from keeping a close eye on the man now that he noticed him being in the room.

The boy's patience was rewarded in a sense when the man at the front of the class introduced himself. His accent was odd, but Alexander didn't have much trouble making out what the man was saying.
"My name is Alexander Ferro, and my pawniard's is Glaive. I am a new student assigned to Aegis class," he replied calmly as Professor Strominoff started to arrange his cards once more. It made a bit more sense what he was doing when the man mentioned the cards not knowing but still sensing stuff. Tarot, huh? It seemed the class was already going to be a bit more interesting than he thought.

{{OoC: Small edit because I realized I forgot to introduce the partner. XD}}

"Alex is good nehme. Could do without ander" Professor Strominoff said, giving his admittedly somewhat bias opinion. Reaching behind his desk, which in his case was actually just off to his right side, the Professor would pick up a small woven basket and place it atop a row of books he kept on his desk. The cards had warned him of 'unexpected visitors' so he had prepared things in advance. This was just one of those things. Alex was lucky he turned out to be a student.

"Student Alex, your first mission is going to Eyes-land of New Beginnings" The Professor began, propping up his elbows and folding his hands "Going zere you must to cahtching Pokemon. Ahtleast one. Must ahlso be tehking picture of stone. One causing evolution in Pokemon. Vill know vhen seeing" The Professor would then indicate the basket he'd placed on his desk, the contents of which were three (3) Pokeballs, one (1) Potion, and a Super Snap Camera "Items be taking. For Mission." At this point the Professor would wait a few moments for Alex to digest the information before giving the final segment of his instructions "To be getting zere, you must be going to Pokemon Center. Circling to bahck, ahnd valking down stairs. Boat be meeting you zere. Questions?"

The boy smiled slightly at the compliment on his name. Well, more or less of a compliment. But the smile gradually faded to a more neutral expression as the instructor got down to business. A small basket of supplies was brought out and Alexander was given some instructions on what his next task would be. On the surface, it sounded simple enough. Hop over to an island, find some sort of evolution-inducing stone, catch a pokemon along the way, take a picture of the stone, and return. Of course, there was the problem of how much of a challenge the pokemon on that island would be, but he couldn't back down.

"No questions, Professor," Alexander said as he took the basket of items placed in front of him. He would get around to putting them away after he left the room. "If that's everything, I'll get started immediately." With that, the boy got up from the desk he was sitting at and made his way out of the room and in the direction of the Pokemon center. Glaive followed along close by, but still shot the instructor a glance as he left the room.

Hiro enters the room, and immediately is nearly suffocated by the smoke. He would inhale badly the lavender scent that had him sputtering as he presses ones hand against the wall.

"What the hell is this place?"

He would ask loudly ...as Blight would look around and smile.

Hiro hadn't been to school in a very long time, the boy had no really memory of what a classroom looked like. Thus, this place of desk and books, took him by surprise as finally his eyes would fall upon the man in the robe in the midst of the room.

"Is this some soft of poisonous fumes? As the world's strongest, it would have to take some underhanded tricks in deed to take me down. But, I shall not fall to one such as this."

He was demanding loudly was Blight only rolled her eyes.

Though she sat patiencely by her trainer throughout the entire incident.

"Lavender. Is good smell" The man behind the desk answered in a gruff voice, his hands slowly moving just above a crystal ball "Spirits like too." As the robed man moved his hands a slight chill wafted through the room, his stern expression turning to one of curiosity "Spirits speak of you. Many lives you having. Vonce boy ooho stahnding ahlone. Such anger, but much mistake making" The man said, his eyes watching the ball closely as it imparted more secrets to him "Vonce...no....tvice girl. Short, angry, but smart..." He turned to Hiro for a second "...zings not carrying over sometimes" He shook his head, almost mournfully, then returned his gaze to the ball as his hands shifted "Other girl....blonde...vith eyes burning like fire. Playing like Poochyena." Suddenly all the candles in the room would go out, reigniting seconds later as the man's crystal ball dimmed.

Nodding his head the man would look to Hiro in earnest, drawing back his hood as he said "Professor Claudus Alexei Strominoff is name. Ooho you being?"

Hiro looked at the man with a huge question in his head as he talked about past life. Though slowly he started to realize what he meant. Twice a girl, and once a man, and the boy almost started glaring especially when he was told that he was once a blonde. A blonde didn't exactly speak of fire to him, more of slow and snow, but he wasn't going to get into that too much. It didn't matter, because, the man was talking completely nonsense.

But, this man was suppose to be his teacher, his guide to greatness.

Most great teachers tend to be rather weird, and this man was not only weird but he spoke weird. At least, it was clear enough to understand him as he sighs deeply before declaring
.

"My name is Hiro Azuma, and I am destined to be the world's strongest trainer. I am here for you to teach me ....how to become stronger, or at the least give me the tools to achieve my overall goal.

So, Professor Stormy ...what is my first step?"

The boy asks with a smile on his face while his Pokemon who for a moment thought her trainer was going to be mostly sensible nearly let her mouth hang open. It wasn't exactly nice to call anyone but their name, but then again, her trainer wasn't exactly the best on manners.

They tried to teach him, but when there is a language barrier ...there is only so much that can be translated over.
