Poké-lots

The first place one comes after fully becoming an Academy Student, it's here where you'll acquire the land you and your Pokemon will be squatting on for the duration of your stay. But when you pass through the doors, you find nothing but a perky young woman behind a free-standing kiosk.

User Image

"Ah, hello!" she exclaims. "Welcome to the Poké-lots Acquisition Center. Here is where we arrange for housing for you and your Pokémon." She smiles excitedly. "Since you're new, I'll explain, but please ask questions if you need me to clarify." She motions to the kiosk before her. "I've got a bunch of capsules for all the students here. Once you've signed off on the deed for you Poké-lots, I'll give you the right capsule. Then when we're done here, just pop the capsule and throw it." She giggles nervously. "Um, make sure you throw it properly. We don't want you getting hurt this early on!"

She laughs, but gets a hold of herself. "And then poof! You've got a brand-new home away from how! Oh, and don't worry if it seems small at first. It'll be nice and cozy!... and you'll be able to upgrade your lot if you work hard, so there's that." She winks.

When you tell her what you want, she'll hand over the deed and the appropriate capsule and let you be. The deed gives you a place to name your new home, which is meant to be left on the mailbox that comes with that nifty little capsule.

[After acquiring a Poke-lot, please create your own thread when you can store your Pokemon and keep track of your belongings. As a note: the second or third post of your Poke-lot must be designated as some kind of record, as per the part of your profile called "Story Bio". The Story Bio (though you can call it other things) is were you'll keep track of your character's missions and status in the Academy.]

Starter Lands

All students receive a plot of land which will allow them to store 3 Pokemon, and will only hold five items. Food must be left for the Pokemon on the appropriate island, or else they can and will die. Each Pokemon will absorb 1 unit of food & water per every 5 battles.

User Image
* Area# 1 - Forest Grove - the first zone available. Quite popular, and often recommended for new trainers. Self-supporting with a small pond for water and berry bushes for food. This area needs little to no work in order to maintain, and in response to that the Pokemon here gains little to no experiences from being stored here.

All pokemon stored here gain +1 exp per battle

User Image
* Area# 2 - Crescent Beach - is a favorite of many trainers for its cool atmosphere! It is a small island secluded by ocean water, which makes it harder to access by wild Pokemonand trainers alike. Though this security comes with a price; there is no fresh water here, so any Pokemon left here can die of dehydration if no water types are included in this place.

All Pokemon store here gain+5 exp per battle
(If no water types are store here or alternative source of water found, -5 hp each battle for all Pokemon)

User Image
* Area# 3 - Upraising Crater - a hostile land. It is a small area that is encase in nothing but rock and stone. There isn't food or water here-- food would have to be grown or left in order for the Pokemon to be able to survive here. As for water, either a water type or another form of water source must be left behind or else the Pokemon might die while the trainer is away.

All pokemon store here gain 1/4 exp from a battle.
(If no water types are store here & no food is left behind for all Pokemonhp is reduced by 1/4 each battle)

Shoes clacking against the floor as he entered the building, Argyle would turn his head to the left and right, taking stock of his surroundings. An odd place this, but the explanation he received upon entering was plenty clear enough. So rather than some sort of dorm room or making the students sleep wherever they dropped, they provided sufficient space for trainer and Pokemon. A wise idea indeed. Though the idea of the capsule made him a bit....squeamish. He'd heard rumors about what could go wrong with these things. Though such things were just as often that alone, rumors.

Looking to the television screens which provided a pre-recorded view of the various types of land, as well as flipping through a few leaflets, Argyle set about deciding just wher ehe would 'hang his hat' as the saying went. Certainly the Forest Grove had it's advantages, food and water was pre-provided, but think of the cleanup. All those leaves, cutting the grass, pollen everywhere. It'd be a nightmare, like that time the Mistress had decided the ballroom could double as a greenhouse. The beach sounded nice in theory, but he wasn't one particularly enticed by the prospect of sand in every stitch, nook, and cranny. He'd had to shower twice and burn his clothes after last time. That lefgt the crater. No food, no water, and no doubt plenty of dust; on the plus no garden or lawn maintenance was required, rain was likely scarce so mud wouldn't be a problem, and dirt did not possess the same habits of sand. Plus it was bound to be flat as Marrón Calico IV.....not that he'd ever say that out loud....well not a second time anyway. Either way it meant he could see intruders coming from miles off.

Yes that would do nicely. Placing one arm across his chest, the other remaining straight, the young trainer would bow to the girl behind the counter "Good Afternoon. I would like to request a section of Upraising Crater for use during my time in the Academy" He asked politely, maintaining a perfect Supermarket Smile. Gentle and cheery, but calm so as to not appear too excited.

The girl behind the kiosk grinned brightly, clearly impressed by the student's politeness. "Afternoon! And just one second... She shuffled through a set of papers, carefully searching for something specific... and her face brightened when she found it. "Ah, here we go! Just sign right here, fill this out, and you can be on your way." She'd place a deed in front of Argyle, and offer him a pen to write with.

"Thank you" Argyle stated politely while gently taking the pen from the girl, smiling all the while as he began to fill out the required information. His name was simple enough of course, everyone ought to know the answer to that question....well except maybe amnesiacs and those below the age of one year. Now as for what to call the landscape, that was another matter. It needed to be something easy to remember, and accurate to the terrain. This was a piece of land for the storage and raising of Pokemon not a theme park after all. Perhaps something familiar to him given his usual job description?.....Ah yes, he had the perfect name in mind for this place he would soon call home.

Squiggling the pen via his generally awful handwriting, Argyle would then place the writing implement down on the desk parallel to the edge of the paper. Bowing briefly the boy would state "Thank you once again for your time" Argyle said politely before turning to leave....and then immediately halting, turning back around, and bowing apologetically "It would appear in my haste I neglected to recall what comes after the signing of the deed, and for that I whole heartedly apologize." Well really he didn't actually care, but he'd still need that capsule thing before living. He wasn't planning on sleeping in a cave wrapped in a cloak like some survivalist lunatic.

Oh no! Clearly, she was still a bit tired, because she'd forgotten to remind the new studentto wait while she fetched the capsule! Fortunately, he seemed to be more on the ball than she was today. "My apologies, sir! Here you go!" She handed over the capsule quickly, nodding firmly. "All right, you're all set! You're free to go to your class now, though it's tradition to go check out your Pokelot and set up there, first.

"Thank you once more" Argyle said politely, giving this time only a faint bow as he took hold of the capsule. "A pleasant afternoon to you" He said before promptly leaving. He'd wasted enough time here as is; and more importantly his jaw was beginning to hurt from all the smiling. See this was why he kept interactions with other people down to a minimum.

Finally making her way to this building, Jin-Hua looked at the screens and various places she could choose from. It was interesting they were given their own individual land but also wise at the same time. The lady seemed friendly enough and actually normal . The forest land seemed easiest to maintain...however it wasn't very appealing to her. The crater looked interesting..but still didn't really grab her attention. Well there was the last one and this seemed like the right place. Stepping forward, she turned to face the person. "I would like Crescent Beach as my pokelot please."

Right to the point! She liked the shorter, dark-haired girl-- people who knew what they wanted would go far in life! Well, she hoped. She hoped everyone was happy, successful, and full of bacon! "Here you, go, miss! Just fill out this deed, and I'll give you the capsule that'll help you set up your new home. As she spoke, she placed both a paper and a pen in front of Jin-Hua.

Thinking for a second, she wondered what exactly to name the island. It was officially hers and she had never actually owned land before. Pondering the thought, she tugged on a piece of her gold streaked hair. Ah, that's it! Scribbling down the name, her handwriting as neat as calligraphy, she then passed the paper back to the lady. "Thank you, I appreciate your help."

"Any time!" The girl winked cheerfully; it was always nice to be appreciated. Quickly, she reached into her stand and pulled out a capsule, which she offered the other young lady. "Here! And you're free to go, miss." Ahhh, they all looked so young and hopeful! It rarely lasted long, but she appreciated what there was.

Jin-Hua thanked the lady once more after taking the capsule. Alright, it was now time to explore their new home. Nodding once to Longwei to follow, the girl left in the direction of the pokelot.

The short pink-haired girl stepped carefully towards the kiosk, her faithful companion now wrapped around her waist as a belt. A Poke-lot, huh? A home away from home... well, a small one, anyway. It sounded nice, even if she was a city drone at heart. She looked over the options carefully, debating. It was time to get in touch with the wild side, apparently. "I'd like the Crescent Beach, please?" She'd been leaning towards the Crater, but it felt too dreary for her. Besides, she'd never been to the ocean, and this was as close as she could get for now.

Alice would find that her request was not met with words of acceptance, or even any words at all. Instead a peeping sound would come from up above, followed by the rustling of plant material and the flapping of wings. In an instant a Fletchling would flit down to the table. For a second or two it would hop about, twisting it's head to get a better look at Alice before releasing another peep. Flapping off it would disappear around a bend, then return clutching a rolled up slip of paper in it's feet. When it passed the counter it would drop it's load, the paper unrolling to reveal a deed. A second later a small capsule with a button on one end would land beside it. Thankfully it hadn't landed on the button. Lastly a pen would drop onto the counter. What Alice needed to do was clear!

Alice blinked, surprised. She'd failed a spot check, apparently. Good think she hadn't been fighting, or else that Fletchling could have gotten the drop on her! (Vorpal, for his part, had floated slightly above her waist, setting the small girl slightly off balance. At least the bird didn't SEEM threatening, but you never knew...) She nodded polite thanks to the Fletchling before picking up the pen. Now, what to call her new home... she fidgeted for a good thirty seconds, running her tongue over the roof of her mouth before striking upon a rather amusing in-joke. It sounded pretty, and it would fit, too!

Having filled it out, she'd return the Fletchling's relevant item and pick up the capsule. Powerful things came in small packages, and she was at least capable of understanding some of the detail that came into designing something like this. With a wave to the Fletchling, Alice would turn to leave, Vorpal still wrapped around her waist.
