Apparently it wasn't just anyone who could get a Pokedex in the past. Only a select few were able to use them for a realy long time, which was odd to think about. They were so useful! Why limit them to just a handful of adults? Ava gained a slightly different approach to her little device, even though she usually forgot to use it when she went out.
Mr. Thoraschrein decided to give them an assignment to make them use their pokedexes more. He tasked them to go out and try and catalog all of the wild pokemon outside of campus into the pokedex. Like a little scavenger hunt! In comparison to the other assignments Ava got in her tech class, this one was a little more interesting. It actually involved going outside and doing something as opposed to reading some dumb old textbook! As much as she didn't like homework, Ava couldn't help but get a little excited for this one. That, and their substitute teacher let the class out early, meaning Ava had some time to figure out where Battle Club met. Packing up her things, Ava turned to Xiatian. "I gotta go to a club, but we should totally find the pokemon together sometime!" Ava hadn't had too much time to look around. Faye wasn't much for the outdoors and Ava wasn't keen on going out there all alone. The girl slung her bag over her back, giving a wave to her roommate and to Fong. "I'll see you later!" She gave a small wave to the substitute teacher on her way out; he seemed like a nice old man. With a little pep in her step, Ava made her way in the direction of the club rooms, eager to go to Battle Club for the first time.

Loud voice of greetings made Cyril to look up toward the door. He came to spot someone he had never seen before. It's unsure who the greeting was directed to, so Cyril didn't make any reply. People were starting to fill up the classroom too, but nobody else was of interest to him, so he turned back to tidy his desk. He spoke softly toward Aisha that she needed to move, then he packed his notebook - the one that he had used to occupy his time - into his bag.
Unfamiliar person strode into the class with hearty laugh. Cyril certainly thought the old man eccentric. 'Still, Mr. LaChance is away too, huh?' he thought as the outdoor teacher was absent too. The substitute teacher soon opened the lesson with a question regarding pokedex. Cyril thought for an answer. He had used it quite a lot ever since he found out about it. Even if the tool merely gave him description that most of the time trivia than useful and typing for pokemon he didn't capture. It was surely useful when it came to his own pokemon where he could get in-depth knowledge of their gender, age, move set, etc. Cyril didn't raise his hand to answer as he preferred to listen what other thought. He highlighted the topic in his textbook, marking it. Soon, he found himself taking note or more highlighting his textbook as the lesson continued. It was intriguing to find out that pokedex wasn't as available as how it is now. The teacher spoke as if it was from experience which it likely was from how old the man appeared.
Finally, the bell rang and the class ended with assignment of collecting data of pokemon from forest and grassland. Cyril wrote a note regarding it. Judging by the due date, he would have to get it done in one day as today he would be heading to battle club, if he was lucky, he might be able to get registered, if not, he guessed he would get started on his assignment. Tomorrow's planned practice would likely take a whole day to do.
Cyril returned Aisha to her pokeball and tidied his stuff before he exited the class. He wasn't close to anyone in the class, doubtful that he was more than classmate to them. It made for uneventful exit for Cyril.

Elijah attempted to eye his desk before landing in the chair only partially- at least it wasn't a complete fall to the ground. He rubbed his eyes he hated that strained feeling he got whenever he had to look around with his glasses or his contacts. His attention was momentarily taken by a kid greeting the class with a lot of enthusiasm. He the guy's name was Enrique but he hadn't really held a conversation with him, but he seemed like a pretty cool guy anyway. Most of Eli's conversations ended being with Marcus and Ray during classes- though he really shouldn't talk during class. "Little blind but okay!"he answered the boy as he asked how they were. He had a good point about merging classes; it was alright but he much prefered the normal class setting,"Yeah same here it seems a little weird though that the teachers are suddenly absent, wonder if something's going on?" He wasn't one to become paranoid, but he was starting to get there little by little. He practically jerked out of his seat hearing a strange loud laughter in the hall and it continued to rise in volume until an old man entered the room, continuing to chuckle. Eli relaxed back in his seat to calm his nerves, but he noticed Marcus wasn't sitting next to him, where the heck was he? He grunted thinking about where that guy could be right now. The elderly man he recognized from the opening ceremonies all the way back at the school's opening. He revealed the fact that Mr. Takahiro was gone due to something- now he was feeling that paranoid feeling rise again. The man, Mr. Thoraschrein, began class with a lesson on the pokedex. He didn't answer the question despite knowing a little about the device, He listened to his classmates but for the whole class that's all he did, he couldn't really see the board for notes or write notes evenly on his own notes.
By the time class ended Eli waited as the old man stopped them before they left and gave them an assignment, and he felt pretty shocked by it. The man wanted them to scan every pokemon they could in the forest and other areas, and they only had two class periods to do so."Wow that's...that's going to be a lot," He really needed to let Marcus know,"Dude really picked a bad time to miss!" He grabbed his bag and headed out the door to start on this project- and to find Marcus. There were a few places he could be, but his safest bet and closest to work on the assignment would be the forest. He almost ran out the door, but he caught his face on the side of the door,"Ow!" he held his face and continued to grumble ow as he slowly went through the doorway. Exit to Forest

After what seemed like walking around for a good bit, Makoto and Inari made their way to class. She was going to get in contact with Koru to see if they wanted to do homework together and grab dinner. Hopefully she was feeling better as her Fletchling nailed her in the abdomen. Makoto looked around and no one was to be seen, but she went in anyway and took a seat. To keep her occupied, she brushed Inari's hair and tail, thinking of her homework for Coordination.

Even after lunch, Ava wasn't looking forward to tech class. She never did, to put it into perspective. But it was even worse following a slightly disappointing outdoors class. If only Gala could just cooperate for once! The trio ate, though only Fritz joined her for class. She couldn't exactly risk her acting up again. Outside, a sticky, webby mess could be cleaned up easily. Indoors? Not so much. At least Fritz would just sit on her shoulder and keep her company
Ava walked into her tech class to see Makoto sitting there with her pokemon. She gave the girl a friendly wave before making her way to her usual seat in the back. Even a few months into the course, Ava wasn't much for this class. It could be cool every now and again, but it was nothing like her Outdoors class, in her eyes.

Cyril walked into the class without a word, although his gaze swept over to take note of individuals inside. Finding that he did not find anything noteworthy, he strode to take his seat. Aisha, the snorunt that often accompany him to this class deposited herself unto his desk, while Cyril placed his bag. He waited then. it should not be long a wait. no matter how tempting it was to read the book he recently borrowed, he knew he wouldn't be able to concentrate reading properly here nor would there be enough time for him to read more than 2 or 3 pages anyway. He resigned himself to watch and listen on his classmates to pass the time.

Nothing out of the ordinary happened during lunch. Tera and her Pokemon had eaten outside, like usual, though it was getting chillier due to the change in season, not that that would stop her from eating out. Despite the temperature and the cloudy whether, everything was pretty relaxing; there were no surprise Pokemon attacks, she didn't lose her way and everyone was satisfied with their meal. She did feel a chill run and her spine and her nose drip a little, but she didn't think much of it and started walking back to campus when her group was done eating.
When she got to class, feeling tired and under the weather, she didn't want to approach the others and chose to sit away. The girl was far too stubborn to go back in the dorms to rest and also coupled with the fact that this was one of the classes that she needed the most help with, so she didn't want to risk falling anymore behind than she already was.

Jung-Su quietly sauntered into the technology and science classroom feeling leaps and bounds better after getting some food. The class was already filling up with his peers which elevated his anxiety fearing an sort of social approach. Yet a glimpse of pink hair had relaxed him a tinge and reminding him of the promise he made to himself. It was strange to see the pink haired lass so uncharacteristically listless. She also seemed far from the others causing him to wonder if she wanted to be alone or if something was wrong. Would approaching her be so strange? She did consider him a friend and friends were supposed to help each other in times of need, yes? As the lad pondered while taking more peeks at Tera and eventually chose to sit near her but not talk to her out of fear of breaking social norms, unaware that he might already be doing so.

Marcus had honestly just done what felt right to him, hang around Ray so he wasn't alone and sad, go with him on meals so he could make sure he didn't pass out from not eating again. Antonio took a deep breath and then yawned as he stretched his arms out. He would be taking care of one more class today and he really hoped that these students would be more enthusiastic than his previous class. Takahiro was out today working on a new project for the PokeGear and thus he would be substituting for him. His recent item was quite the invention and a dream come true for several Collectors; the ability to change pokemon to their shiny forms. Antonio didn't understand the specifics, but he knew that to do something like required a lot of skill and brain power. Not to mention lots of imagination which somehow didn't seem to quite fit Takahiro sometimes. You could never judge a book by its cover and with a name like Poke Dazzler, he couldn't be as grumpy as he looked. However, he suspected that he didn't come up with that name on his own. The tall man eventually reached the classroom where he took a peek inside to see who was present. He was happy to see a good amount of the students and they seemed motivated enough. Hopefully he would not have any problems with them today.
"Good afternoon class! Looks like I'll be teacher for today so let's all have a good time," Antonio introduced himself and waved at the children as he headed for his desk. Today's lesson would be simple enough which was normal for most classes with a substitute teacher. They usually involved reviewing some work or presenting homework; today's class would be the latter. "From what I've been told, everyone had an assignment to fill up your Pokedex with the entries of Pokemon from the Forest. Has everyone been able to complete them?" He glanced at the clock realizing that class would be starting so he might as well begin. "While we wait for the others, can I have everyone who has completed their homework raise their hands?"

Antonio stared at the students who were being silent and countered with some silence of his own. Once again the students were not participating in class. The tall man was starting to worry if perhaps the students were feeling down. His thoughts immediately wandered to Ramona and the whole incident with the museum items that were stolen. Lately the news was covering this event especially since it involved a teacher. Pokemon Academies were an easy target for the media since they were still an experimental project by the government. Chances were that all the students knew about Ramona and she very popular with the students (they all liked her) so he could only imagine how they were feeling. The whole case with the museum was really odd. The items that were stolen were the items that were fractured by two students from the academy during the Lamia Festival. The academy was being charged for those items, but since they were stolen the academy no longer had any responsibility for them. The museum was left with nothing and the academy was left safe. Even the media was not focusing on the academy, but rather on the teacher.
He passed a hand through his hair and pushed his thoughts aside. "Well whether you have finished the homework or not, we'll be adding something extra to the task. This should be a fun one for everyone. I want you to use the camera feature of the PokeGear and take pictures of the Pokemon from the Forest. Try to take these pictures without the Pokemon noticing so that you may see how they behave. I want at least one picture with each of the Pokemon from the Forest. Make sure to take advantage of your PokeGear and remember that you can zoom in and out to get some good pictures." He looked up at the clock and noticed that it was time to dismiss the students. "That will be all for today, class is dismissed. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon." Antonio smiled at the students as he prepared his things to leave when the classroom became empty.

The class slowly started to fill in, until finally the teacher arrived. He wondered what's up with this frequent substitute teacher, but he kept it to himself. When they were asked to speak of their assignment, Cyril waited. He wanted to hear how others did theirs, sadly, it appeared that all of them were reluctant to go first. Even Mr. Reyes sensed it and did not pick student to start, rather, he gave them another assignment that told them to take picture of pokemon. It sounded a repeat of what they were doing before, only this time with picture instead of pokedex entry.
Time passed quickly afterward. the ringing of a bell marked the end of the class. While most student stayed longer in class to chat, Cyril chose to leave as soon as he could. There were no deadline for the homework, so he assumed he should get it done fast.
