Tendaji Adoption Rules

|| Adopting requires 2 RPs (solos of 1k each if a single parent is adopting).
|| The first should indicate the reason that adopting is the only feasible option for the parent(s).
|| The second should be meeting the child in an orphanage/however they may meet and finding a bond with the child. (This second RP/solo may not be used in growth.)
|| Earthlings may adopt once they reach the Second Stage.
|| For one youngling to be adopted, a sum of 150mil must be sent to Suhuba.
|| For two younglings to be adopted, a sum of 350mil must be sent to Suhuba.
|| Only Common and Uncommon races/hybrids can be applied for adoption.
|| Alkidike and Elaria younglings will not be open to adoption.
|| Yaeli, Lightning, and Geian younglings can only be adopted by their own respective race at this time.
|| Parents may choose the race and gender of their adopted child only!
|| Only up to one baby will be given per owner (single parents can only have one, couples cannot give both babies to one owner).

Reason for Adoption: Xilarn and Kennet are lovers and have been since their late teen years. This is the first and only relationship Xil (or Ken) has had and neither are even remotely interested in ruining that by sleeping with a woman. That and they're both gay, so the idea really isn't even exciting. Kennet could always pay a visit to his homeland, but with his hybrid status and the recent upheaval, Xilarn is hard-pressed to let him head to Chibale, never mind how unlikely it seems that an Oban would be accepted there (plus Xil has his doubts concerning Alkidike reproduction- it just doesn't make a great deal of sense to him).

As it turns out, the choice is taken almost entirely from their hands, anyway. The child Xil plans to adopt was uprooted from his family during the last conflict. He isn't particularly forthcoming regarding details about his home and doesn't seem interested in returning. He doesn't seem interested in a great deal of anything. No one in Xil's town has heard of a missing child, leaving Xilarn at an impasse with what to do with him, outside of taking him under his wing. With no one willing to take over his care, and Akiyal incapable of handling himself, Xil's only option is to offer his own home.

Living Situation: (assuming this is for Xil, and not the child?) Xilarn lives in a two-bedroom wooden cabin with his mate, Kennet and his two raptrix, Gadot and Naeght. He hunts near the Tale border for meat frequently, and then also in Zena occasionally for pelts during colder weather He trades what he has to spare for other necessities; seasonings, soap, fabric, veggies.

Child Name: Akiyal (Aki) Attlee
Child Gender and Race: Wind male
Child Personality: As he copes with the loss of his mother, Akiyal tends to be quiet, reserved, and distant overall. He expresses little interest in most things and makes no attempt at interacting with others. He is reclusive, tempestuous, spiteful, and unruly, particularly at the onset. He doesn't care for his well being, doesn't eat unless prompted, and doesn't outwardly show a desire to make friends or be around others. The change of lifestyle is hard on him, but as he adapts to the more sedentary life of living with Xil and being around an actual community, his more innate nature (coupled with select characteristics from his deceased mother) will begin to show.

As he grows, Aki will adopt of curiosity of all things- all people, all walks of life, and a great manner of activities. From a young age, he'll be drawn to things he can distract himself with, and will quickly come off as impatient and rowdy, eager for attention and self-centered all at once. He is desperate to travel as he did in his younger years and is actively combative if his wants are denied. He has no desire for taking anything slowly, and would just as soon tangle any random stranger up in his activities as he would be to do anything alone.

He is smug, impulsive, and flirtatious without really meaning to be, and rarely considers other's emotions before acting or speaking. He is adventurous and peppy, and approaches others with a smile, though there is no guarantee it'll remain that way. When he is challenged or attacked, Aki fights back. He is vindictive and mean, and staying on his good side generally means attempting to cater to his ever-fluctuating wants. His loyalties are hard-won, and may not necessarily be worth the battle because he is always interested in something new.
Child History: Akiyal has never lived a stationary life. From his birth, his mother had always traveled with him at her side. She went where the birds took her, and paid little to no mind of others. While they would occasionally stay in group convoys, Vinestra had no intention of being tied down by familial or friendly ties. So Akiyal's life was always on the move. Nestra was a fun and peppy (if not entirely safe) mother, and despite her active adventurous lifestyle, she kept her son's well-being at heart.

Aki never knew his father, and was instead graced with fantastical tales that he was laid in a bird's egg and really had an avian for a parent. He didn't have any binding association to any particular group of Wind others, so while his mother may have known of people or families, Aki is rather unfamiliar with them, and he doesn't suspect they are particularly familiar with him, either.

When the Alkidike extremists marched on Sauti, Nestra abandoned her four-year-old son with a wandering tribe near Tind and left for the battle. News of casualties traveled quickly, unless names (like Nestra's) were unknown. But as family and friends returned to the tribe, Aki began to suspect that his mother would never be among them. He heard whispers of people dying, never to return. Though his mother's name was not one of the ones whispered, he knew what she'd been apart of. Despite his age and lack of ability or direction, he fled the tribe and headed off in hopes of learning more.

As it was, Akiyal was not capable of taking care of himself in the wilderness. He was young and untrained, and now at five years old had managed to survive the lands between Tind and Kesris, where Xilarn found him.

Reason for Adoption: Isolder has reached an age where he really thought he would be a father by now with a trusted woman by his side, but sometimes fate is a cruel thing and he finds himself without either. He feels it is time to start a family in order to get to where he wants to be in life and honor the memory of his Mother and sister. He wants to adopt because he knows what its like to loose his parents even if he was a prentice already when he lost his he can't imagine what it would be like to be a youngling with no parents. It breaks his heart and he wants to help them somehow.

He has promised to himself that if he does find the right person for him that he will not reproduce himself, once he takes on an adopted youngling they will become his main focus. He would not mind if his mate wanted children, they could adopt or find a donor, thats not a worry but for him it will be as if his adopted child is his by blood. No matter what.

He is lonely and feeling that something vitally important is missing from his life, he has determined that this missing thing is children. Someone that he can raise and teach and continue his lagacy with even if its not by blood.
Location of Adoption: Matori
Matori is where Isolder has moved to, the place where he finally feels that he is ready to start a family. He admires the Matorian people greatly and understands their hardships, as they were similar to the angst between the shifters and the alkidike in the forests of home. He knows they have been through much as individuals and as a people. He wants to be a part of this story somehow, but as he is a shifter the best way he can be a part of this is to adopt a water youngling. He hopes that they might learn from each other. The point of race has never been an issue for him, he welcomes the interactions with people of different races they make life more interesting.

Current Residence: Matori
Living Situation: Isolder lives in a largish hut a short ways from the sea in a very safe neighborhood. He has built up a large nest egg of funds so that he may look after his adoptee to the best of his ability while she is still young. He has prentices available should something come up and he need to take on a commission job to pay bills, he has planned for this not to happen but is prepared for an emergency just in case.

1 Family Oriented - Nin is capable of forming extremely strong bonds with people she considers her family, family is of the utmost importance to her which makes loosing her young parents all the more painful for the little girl. Family will always come into consideration for her and she will demand a partner who will be as focused on them as she.

2 Spiritual - Partially due to natural inclination and partially because of her early life experiences Nin is a very spiritual creature, seeing signs from the gods in the appearances of certain animals, getting messages from them and from how the shells on the beach are arranged after the tide recedes. She is connected to the ocean through love but that love is slightly tarnished because it was the sea that broke her parents along its rocks when her father's ship hit a reef. So the sea is home but also a reminder of what she has lost, she sees it as sort of a diety in itself and its mysteries waiting for her to come and discover them. She usually prays at least once a day and will read the signs constantly.

3 Powerful - When one looses control of one's life at an early age, one may seek to rectify it in an adult life. Things must be planned out and communicated clearly to make a plan work, she will train hard to become a good warrior no matter which path she may choose. She will work to maintainn that power through connections, networking, climbing physically and mentally to the top of the heap as much as she can, she will try to do it on her own merits as well.

4 Intelligent - She is a smart little girl with not much left of the screen that forms from parents between children and their world, she will hate to be talked to like a small child, preferring to be talked to like an equal adult, in later years this will translate to equality as a female, beware the chauvenists. She will like to think things through before acting and will be a very good strategist. Due to her past she is a bit more jaded already then many younglings who have not had a similar or equivalent experience.

She will be a bit shy in her youth, coming into more confidence as she gains experience and confidence, after a prentice she should be right on track and more stable than many others her age.

Child History: Nin was born to a young water couple, one was a treasure hunter named Inala and her father was a fisherman call Kolvack. They were both adventurous spirits and raised their daughter in the same manner often taking her with them at a young age on adventures, showing her tidepools as a baby and collecting shells, they did everything together as they were a very close knit family. Nin was closest to her father Kol. He was hers and she had him wrapped right around her precious little finger, her mother seeing their connection hoped for a son so that she might experience something similar to the intense closeness.

As she grew older her parents needed to go out on longer and longer treks to help finance their budding family. Her mother had recently gotten pregnant again and they didn't have much money to begin with so they had to go and gather resources. Her Mother heard of a treasure up the coast line that promised to set them up for two years if she could locate it. They never told Nin what the treasure was but she was excited that her parents would go on a top secret special mission for her and her unborn sibling.

That was until they didn't come back and her babysitter started to panic. When people finally came to the door with news of her parents death, Nin blacked out. How could this have happened to her, no her parents were out there hiding she knew, she raced outside and the babysitter had to sprint to catch her, then they had to keep a constant watch on her because she would find innovative ways to go and look for herself. It wasn't until someone brought back the special shell that her mother had always worn that she believed them.

Her parents were gone, what was there for her on this earth anymore, she had no close family, no sibling, just the memory of the start of one. She was placed in the orphanage and was there for about six months, slowly loosing hope that anyone would adopt her, soon she stopped trying so hard and only glanced at couples who came by too look. That was until Isolder chose her because she needed him the most and reminded him of the sister he had never met just as she had never met her sibling.

Reason for Adoption: Isolder has never met a woman or man that he wanted to spend his life with that stuck around to see it through. He feels that he owes it to himself and the other youngling he has adopted to share the love and expand the family. As he has sworn off reproduction in the conventional way and has no handy alkidike girlfriend hanging around he must go through the alternate path and adopt again. He has carefully been gathering information on adoptable children in various orphanages
He has found a girl in Zena that seems to fit what they need in a third family member and hopes that his and Nin's strengths will compliment the iceling in such a way that they will all grow from the experience. So he and Nin have come to Zena to see their prospective new member.

Isolder feels in his heart that adoption is his calling. He cannot have children of his own but he can still share his love with other children who were orphaned just as he was. He feels that his mother's memory is honored through adoption he can teach the children to love just as his mother taught him to love with kindness and guidance and a promise to be there for them as long as he was alive just as she was there for him until she could no longer be.

He lost a sister too at birth, and adopting helps him feel like he is honoring her as well. Giving those without parents a chance just as the orphanes are giving him a man without biological children of his own a chance at life and love and a family. Family is central to Isolder and has been since he was born.

Location of Adoption: Zena, Isolder is looking specifically for younglings that he feels would be an appropriate and good fit for the family he has already started to build. He has admired the spirit of icelings for a long time and felt that a youngling from there, (specifically with Ristadis's personality), would compliment his family. He sent a courier out to gain a little information about many different eligable younglings and Ristadis with her adventurous spirit would be ideally suited to the family he wants to build upon with her presence.

Current Residence: His own house in Matori
Living Situation: He lives with his first adopted daughter Ninaeleth in their home in Matori, he has a lot of time to devote to the children and has found a steady job close to home as security at the local market, as well as some extra cash earned in smaller jobs like helping to take care of familiars for some of the merchants, this allows him to look after his daughter while he brings in income. She is never far from his side no matter where he goes, the same will be true for his new adopt.

Child Personality:

Adventurous - Rista loves to see whats just beyond that bend, over that hill, the underside of that mountain, no one can guess what one can't see so she wants to see it all. Her parents kept her close to home when they were alive, it was the one thing she had always resented. So wherever she is be it a home, the orphanage or a whole meadow, Rista will find the most wonderful and interesting hiding places. She wants to see the other lands very badly indeed. Except the place over the sea called Belrea, she doesn't trust the flying ships she has heard about all that much.

Provokable - So you wanna go huh? Well bring it on! With nothing to loose she has become a bit of a brawler, if your a polite person you have nothing to worry about but if your a rude one well hope you like your hair pulled and your face rearranged. She also doesn't give warning when she will strike she just does it. Her temper is a hallmark she got from her Mother's family. Her Father had been very calm.

Ruthless - When it comes to mercy to others not in her circle of chosen people, Rista has none, the world never gave her any so she would give none to others in return, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger after all, and more cynical. It also means that in a battle she will never pull her punches.

Sneaky - Not all revenge has to come from the front and center, Rista is capable of subterfuge, spying and eavesdropping on her enemies. She could be listening to you right now with her penchant for good hiding places.

Loyal - To the very few who eventually earn her respect and yes love, she is a very loyal person and will dive to the pits of the world to rescue you from whichever mess you have gotten in. Usually though to earn this you have to save her life in a similar way; emotionally, spiritually or physically.

Haughty - Being high born has made its mark on her, and she is old enough to remember how she used to be adored. Her Father told her never to show her weakness to the world so instead she looks down her nose. It comes in handy for when she is spoiling for a fight.


Child History: Rista was the only child born to a noble family in Zena, they were high up on the totem pole as her Father had been the son of one of the elders on the council. A favored elder at that. As such she had been somewhat spoiled from the very beginning, but the love and guidance of her parents kept her grounded in a world just waiting to turn her into someone they would rather not be responsible for.

One of them was always around no matter what. Mother and Father doting on their daughter diligently; teaching her right from wrong, about the world around her and the tales of the gods. They taught her how to think for herself how to control and manipulate a situation she was in to her benefit or safety.

She was beginning to think she was invincible, everything was going perfectly in her life, she had friends, a good teacher and the most wonderful parents, until the fateful day that her parents went out into that blizzard and Zena took back what she had given to Rista. Everything she had given to Rista. Without her parents there was no one to save her from lonliness. Her grandfather was so grief stricken by the loss of his son that looking at Rista made him sick to his stomach. She was a stark reminder of the child he would never have again. He blames Rista for the loss of his son, by the virtue of if she didn't exist his son would still be alive, because he wouldn't have been out in the snow that day on a date with his life to try and rekindle the old romance. He loved his son dearly and the poison of his loss has turned his back on his own kin. He is the only surviving grandparent, and Rista was crushed by the abandonment by a blood relative. Her grandfather had few years left having had his son late in life. He had lost his wife, his son and everyone else and his granddaughter is a reminder of what he will never again have. He preferred boys and had Rista been a male it may well have been a different story.

Her maternal grandparents had perished after a particularly virile wave of flu had taken out those with less than perfect immune systems in a particularly damp spring in Zena. Their loss was part of the reason that her mother and father leaned on each other more and eventually fell in love. You lean hard on your friends in difficult times and they learned that they had the perfect gift right in front of them; each other.

It was one of the few days that her parents had left her to herself, it had been a date night she expected they wanted to work on their relationship with each other after the chaos of having a youngling, now that Rista was a little older they felt confident enough to take some time for themselves. Had they not been caught out in that storm, that freak storm which confused them, made them loose their way from the long walk they had gone on, they would have been fine and still with her.

Was it her fault they had never returned? If she had never have been would they have never gone on that walk? Why was fate so cruel to leave her alone? She had had everything; prestige, love, fans. Now she had nothing...an orphan abandoned by the last of her family to the ravages of public care. She resented the orphanage so very much, and that others the neighbors who had found her and took her in temporarily when her parents were found, had not been able to keep her because they had too many children to feed already. Not even that solace had been permanant, just a delay in absolute solitude.

Reason for Adoption: Gael has no one special in his life at the moment. Kani has seemed to vanish and he is still hung up on her so he's not gone actively looking for someone to fill that void. He does however feel the loneliness and he wishes to have a family of his own. Since Gael comes from a large family he enjoys the loud noises and things that come with it.

He hopes to find the perfect little someone that he can call his family. Gael is ready for fatherhood and wants his shot at being a dad. Since he lacks the female part of a pair he's opted for adoption.

Current Residence: Besaji
Living Situation: Gael has his own house away from his large family, though not too far since he enjoys visiting them. It has two main bedrooms, but there is room to add on or even create another room. There is a large open area that has the seating area and dining table, as well as the place to prepare and cook food.
Relationship: Adopting alone
Adoption Requirement: Empty House- Gael figures out that he lacks a family in his life and wants a child.
Bonding Requirement: The promise - Gael gets to really talk to Brexxa after their first meetings.

Child Name: Brexxa
Child Gender and Race: Female Matori
Child Personality: Wary - Since she has dealt with a lot in her young life Brexxa tends to be wary of most people. She warmed up to Gael a lot quicker than she ever did with others but it had more to do with how he spoke to her treated her. When it comes to adults she's less trusting of them unless they can prove that they aren't out to hurt her or her family. Brexxa doesn't trust large animals either, since they can sometimes cause harm without even meaning to.
Inquisitive - Once she gets past her initial wariness Brexxa opens up and becomes the most curious little mind around. She loves to learn things and seems to always have some questions to ask. Her attention can usually be found in a book when she's relaxed or if she's on high alert she can be found studying her surroundings with an almost expert eye. She makes a point of knowing all she can about where she is and who she's with.
Doting - Brexxa is a big sister and she takes that role seriously. She often showers her baby brother with love and attention.Since she has been with him since birth she often makes sure that he wants for nothing. As she gets to know others and becomes close with them she will open up and show them similar affection. (For example - when she grows older she will dote on Gael and make sure her dad is taken care of in the absence of a woman. So she will take on the cooking and cleaning roles and might even try to play match maker.)
Protective - What's hers will be defended by any means necessary. Brexxa has a protective streak that runs deep within her. It can sometimes cause friction with others, as was the case when Tiia had first found her and her brother, but more often it is used to keep those close to her safe and unharmed by the world.
Child History: Brexxa was born to a young woman who thought she was ready to become a mother. Her father was always in and out of her life as he was busy working or traveling. It was rough going the first three years since her mother seemed to always need help or would forget the little things. Brexxa didn't really know that her mother was failing since she didn't know any better but she often heard other women tell her mother that she was horrible or forgetful.

During one of the times her father was home from traveling she remembered her parents fighting. While the subject of the fight was something she couldn't grasp she did know that her parents were not getting along. Her little ears caught on to a few words and when her mother started to cry she ran out and told her father to leave her alone. The reaction she got was a shove that knocked her into the table and had her laying on the floor.

Her father was disgusted with how Brexxa acted and told her mother that she didn't want another child with her due to how unruly their first one was. Brexxa's mother, feeling that she could not go on without the man, decided then that when the new baby was born she was going to leave it and Brexxa in the jungle. It was her hope that without either child to get in his way then her lover would return to her and they could be happy again.

When that day did come Brexxa could only remember her mother handing her the baby and then walking away. When she tried to follow her mother she received a slap to the face. The words her mother used against her caused the child to tear up but she held onto her baby brother fiercely and watched the woman walk away from them both. While she didn't understand the reason behind it she did understand that she and her brother were on their own.

For the next year and a half Brexxa stole the food that she and her little brother needed to survive. It weighed heavy on her little shoulders and when Tiia, the woman who ran the orphanage found them, she tried to attack her to keep her from her baby brother. Brexxa did everything from scratching and slapping to hair pulling and biting. It took quite a while before Tiia was able to convince Brexxa to let her help. (The woman won her over by bringing food and blankets for her brother.) Seeing that the woman didn't intend to harm them she willingly let Tiia take them both to the orphanage. When asked what their names were she could only say Brexxa and Lake. Though her pronunciation of Lake sounded like Lach. So Tiia assumed the boy was named Loch. Brexxa thought for a long moment before finally looking at her sibling and saying, "His name is Lochlyn."

It took a while for the two to settle in, though of course Lochlyn seemed to warm right up to people. Brexxa didn't blame him since he had been too little to remember the day they had been left all alone but she would always watch to make sure no one was about to hurt them.
