"hehe, right..." Marco sheepishly replied before looking down at the ground to hide his embarrassment. He slowly and carefully stood back up so that his clothes would not get any dirtier. Meanwhile his Pokemon peeked from behind him at the green-haired girl. Charmander in particular was curious to see if Ducklett was there since he was kind of scared of the feathered Pokemon. As if on cue, the duck Pokemon was waddling her way over to him which caused the fire-type Pokemon's skin to craw. Naturally, as a fire-type Pokemon he had a hard time dealing with water-type Pokemon since any of their attacks were super effective against them and this particular duck seemed to always look for him (and he didn't understand why). Charmander quickly created a Pokemon wall as he grabbed Gible and Murkrow so they could shield hide him, but unfortunately for the orange-colored Pokemon he was taller than his friends. Marco was dusting off some of the lingering dirt on his jacket trying his best to not meet Iris's eyes until he calmed down. He was naturally embarrassed, but there was something else he was feeling that he couldn't quite describe very well. Hearing Iris sing and watching the image of her playing the guitar had caused his heart to beat really fast making blood rush to his face quite quickly. The emotion was too confusing for the boy and like anyone his age when faced with uncertainty he had to try and pause to figure it out or ignore it. For the moment, ignoring that feeling was for the best especially since the day was ending.
"Umm, sorry for dropping in like that, but I heard singing so I followed the voice," he didn't want to include the part about looking for the Haunted Mansion since it might make him sound crazy. After all, how could he explain that he was actually hoping the singing voice was from a hooded figure that he met at a mansion in the woods? "Your voice was really beautiful," Marco's eyes widen when that comment left his lips especially since it was boldly honest or at least more honest than he normally spoke; when did he start getting brave? He cleared his throat to trying to stop himself from talking, but perhaps it was too late. "You would make a great idol," he flashed her a half grin and half smile completely giving in to this new honesty thing his mouth was doing. Marco had an older sister who occasionally liked to watch Idol shows on TV so he actually knew what the term meant; talented girls who were really pretty, could sing really well, dance really well, and have a cool skill like playing a musical instrument or magic tricks. Iris certainly fit that bill quite perfectly and she was featured in a magazine as well.
Marco looked up at the sky and noticed that the sun was already going down and soon enough they would be in the dark safe for Charmander's fire tail. He turned to Iris, "we should head back to the academy, its getting dark and the teachers will get mad if we're still outside the campus at night time." Teachers normally made their rounds at night to make sure that no student was out late. The academy was supposed to be a safe place so Marco didn't understand why they had a curfew, but at the same time he didn't question it since his parents gave him a curfew and they always were looking out for him. "I'll walk with you if you want, I was heading back to the academy," he offered to stay with her since he didn't want to leave her alone. Also this was probably the longest time he spoke to her so it would be nice if they could be together. That thought brought up that embarrassing emotion he couldn't understand, and he wondered if it meant that he missed Iris or if perhaps he was feeling lonely since he hadn't seen Tera in a long time. Marco shook those thoughts again deciding to ignore them for now as he waited for Iris's response
