Quiet light flowed into the dorm room window, brightening it up considerably and accentuating every fine corner of the room. It was spacious, perfectly prepared to house three people. While some of the beds were empty one remained used. This lovely morning silence was interrupted by a blaring alarm BZZBZZBZZ continued on until someone would turn it off. A arm outstretched from underneath the covers of the bed and blindly started hitting the side table. It slapped the corner of the table a few times, patted down the lamp, knocked some keys to the floor before turning into a fist and hitting hard down on the clock. The force caused it to push off the table, but with the noise gone the arm retracted and silence filled the room once again. The ruckus did make something stir. Under the covers Cyndaquil popped his head out from the top of the covers and looked around, shocked by the noises,”Q-quil!?” He didn’t see anything but he knew enough from back home that annoying noise meant it was time to wake up. He climbed out of the covers and shook himself, ruffling the little fur he had. He looked back and the lump that was his trainer was still asleep. Cyndaquil sighed and climbed on top of her and started to pull the covers down. Koru’s arms were in a tangled mess. One arm was over head while the other was tucked straight down the bed. Her legs resembled the letter four and her expression was so calm you couldn’t even tell she just attack the alarm clock. Cyndaquil stopped moving the covers and climbed back onto her side and started to shake her arm,”Cynda-quil Cy-da quil qui” he heard a low groan and finally some movement, but all she did was turn and re-bury her face in the pillow. Cyndaquil sighed again whilst standing right next to her and tried to think of what else he could do. He smiled with an idea in mind. He moved closer to her face and in a burst,"QUIL!” his back flames manifested. He simply stood there and waited. It only took a few moments for sweat drops to appear on Koru’s face, and then moments for her to make an uncomfortable expression. It was working, what better way to wake up a fire trainer to be than with fire. To finish it off he popped the flame in a slightly bigger burst. The shocked Koru finally awoke with unevenly opened eyes screaming, ”Dun pop tha tree Arca-quil!....Hm…?” she blinked a few times to notice she wasn’t dreaming anymore. She yawned while wiping the sweat from her forehead,”Mmmm what is it…?”Cyndaquil started to flail his little arms around to try and convey the urgency of the situation. She leaned on one arm watching him, still not understanding what was happening. She turned away from him as a way to pretend not to notice but she finally saw the clock on the floor."WAH!" she fell over the edge of the bed and reached for the clock. It hadn’t been too long but oversleeping today wasn’t an option. She rolled onto her back then leapt upright on the floor. Cyndaquil bounced a bit from the ricochet and Koru stretched out her arms,”Okay time to get ready!” she flexed her arms at Cyndaquil, but he didn’t seem very impressed, more so pleased that she at least woke up.
Koru ran into the bathroom and started a bath, brushed her teeth and ran back rubbing her hair dry with a towel. She wandered over towards her dresser and sat the towel on top. She moved her hair around with her hands trying to fix it, pulling on her bangs and ruffling the curled up points in the back, she turned to Cyndaquil and asked,”Look okay?” he wasn’t really sure how to answer this so just nodded with a smile, making her grin the same way. She opened the closet and found her uniform hanging there ready. Donned in the Salamence colors she started a to feel a mix of nervousness and excitement, she couldn’t choose. She put on her uniform then into the bathroom to see herself in it. Today was really the first day. She jumped back out and then rolled on the bed again, ”Okay Cynda let’s check,” she dug through the drawer and picked out a notebook that she threw to her side then pulled out a pokemon, did the same thing, some pencils, and reached for the floor and grabbed her keys. He rolled off the bed and pulled a satchel bag from the bottom drawer of the dresser. She started stuffing all of the things on the bed inside and slung it over her shoulder. Lastly, she picked up the pokeball and pointed it at Cyndaquil, "Okay buddy I'll take you out when I can okay?,” He nodded and smiled as his form turned red and beamed into the ball. Koru held it with both hands and took in a deep breath, ”Phoo...okay.” she stuck his pokemon in her bag and after straightening her jacket and bag once more she walked out the door and to the opening ceremony.

The ceremony was over quicker than she thought. With everyone leaving the auditorium Koru felt she had yet another too quick goodbye Li and possibly her other new friends Hayato and Eve, she wouldn't have to meet up next time they were all free. Entering her dorm room she walked in while outstretching her arms to relax before whatever this coming surprise was. She turned and plopped on her bed, her roommate wasn't back yet so it seemed pretty quiet. She pulled her stachel strap over her head and laid it next to her while taking out Cyndaquil's pokeball and releasing him in a flash of light,”Quil!” Cyndaquil as he fell into Koru's lap happy to see her. Koru picked him up with both hands and fell back onto the bed and held him in the air giggling,”Hi sorry it took so long buddy!” Cyndaquil seemed to like being up in the air like he was, like a small child would show glee for the same thing. She brought him down and let him crawl out of her hands onto the bed. She flopped over onto her stomach and crossed her arms,"mm so comfy...” the bed was so comfortable she was ready to fall asleep, but she knew she couldn't, whatever was happening later she didn't want to miss. Cyndaquil started to try and get her attention, and she read as wanting to know what had happened while he was up in her bag. She propped her head up and started talking to her pokemon,”I met Li again today, you remember her from yesterday right? She had Fong?” as soon as she said Fong the memory of Fong attacking Isaac appeared in his mind and he fell back fainting. Koru knew he was being over dramatic and asked him,”Cynda…?”

Koru huddled close to her pillow, hugging it like one would a stuffed animal. The night’s sleep was pleasant, no mind to the fact that today was the first day of school. Cyndaquil swished around in the covers next to her, awaking with a light yawn,”Quil~”how the little fire pokemon managed to wake up before Koru every morning was a mystery. It slowly moved closer to her and laid across her next purring as if he was getting comfy enough to fall asleep again. Though asleep, she could feel the pokemon on her neck and rolled over, mumbling gibberish. Cyndaquil peaked up and puffed its cheek. He started to nudge her with his head,”Cynda-quil Cy-da quil qui” Koru refused to adhere to the nudging, but her body moved bit by bit to avoid it so she can sleep in piece. The final nudge however was a bit harder than before and she rolled over, to nothing. THere was no more bed next to her and she went falling down into the floor with her pillow wrapped in her arms. An exclamation of,"OUCH!” Cyndaquil was afraid to look over to check on her, knowing he was the one who started the series of events that led to it. He crawled over to the edge of the bed on his belly and glanced down at the floor. Koru was face down with her rear end sticking up in the air, still holding the pillow. He peaked out a bit more, wondering if was even conscious anymore, but was taken back when she suddenly rolled over and sat up in a normal position. She held the pillow close to her and her eyes where still closed and her expression was of someone not ready for the morning. She groaned,”Mmm..." she turned her head in Cyndaquil's direction, still eyes shut,”Mmmm what is it…?”Cyndaquil came closer and poked in the face with his nose and tried to pry her eyes open with his small arms, but fell off and landing in her lap and rolled across the floor. She finally started to blink and become coherent enough to look around and see it was morning. She laid her head on the bed and sighed,"Mm...morning comes too soon..." while she was up and excited yesterday it seemed her body knew it was an actual school day. Cyndaquil rolled back to his feet and shook his head, walking over to her and nudging her. She rolled her head over and petted him on the head,"Good morning~buddy...” for the first time since she woke up she moved and stretched her arms behind her head and yawned loudly. She braced herself on the bed's edge and stood herself up.
After the was done she proceeded to the bathroom where she brushed her teeth, fixed her hair and everything else that was in her routine. She came back out, looking a little more lively, and approached her closet and started to get her uniform on. Like before she grabbed her satchel, which was still full from when the ceremony had taken place, and she strapped over herself. She sat on the bed to put on her shoes with one hand while taking the other and putting Cyndaquil in his pokeball,,”I'll be sure to bring you out for some food later 'kay?” as his body turned red he nodded. She shrunk the ball into its portable size and placed it in her jacket pocket and stood up, making sure her shoes were on good enough. She walked out of the room and locking the door made her way out to the campus.

Yesterday could be defined as a tough first day, but at the same time Koru felt she was more than ready to get back to classes. Her teachers were the most amazing adults she has ever met, not counting her parents but still very impressive. The only thing keeping her back was the lack of sleep. When she had returned to the room yesterday evening Skylar was already in bed and after her slip up in battle class she didn't want to disturb her. This morning she was bunched in a wrap of blankets and cuddling her pillow tightly, almost like she was fighting something off in her sleep. Cyndaquil was soundly sleeping next to her head on the back pillow. Cyndaquil teitched and moved his head to lay directly on top of Koru's. The small heat emanating from Cyndaquil's body began to heat up Koru's head. Her eyes sluggishly began to open and her hand rose up to feel around what it was on her head exactly. Touching Cyndaquil with her fingertips made him wake up as well, yawning out loud to notify her,”Quil~” She moaned and let her hand and arm slack off to the side. Cyndaquil brought his face in closer to greet his trainer, but she looked at him with a half asleep face. She finally rose up and slumped over, rubbing her eyes to see a bit more clearly. What time was it? She continued to hug the pillow as she got up to walk to the window. It was as sunny as yesterday, but again morning's weren't her thing. She maneuvered over to her desk and looked over her schedule, remembering it had said something different, but she only glanced at it last night so she could've imagined it. Wiping her hand across her face she saw the words Gym Class in the day's slot,”Mmm....” She face planted into the desk, covered by the pillow, and rose up yet again to go to the closet to find her uniform. A few moments later walked out wearing her uniform. She rustled her hair instead of brushing it today, knowing with gym she would want to shower after it was over. She started to do a few warm up stretches to wake herself up. Cyndaquil watching whilst still sitting on the bed. He had slept for quite some time and was wide awake for whatever Koru wanted to do today. She rose up and sighed loudly, her golden eyes finally opened fully,"Okay! Better go grab some breakfast them Cyndaquil?” Cyndaquil gleefully leapt towards her, she catching him in the cradle of her arms. She laughed,"Guess that's a yes!" While he put himself in the usual spot on her shoulder she grabbed her satchel, slipped on her sneakers and walked out the door, jingling the keys in her hand.

Koru swept into the room as soon as she was able to unlock the door. She sat her satchel down on the bed and Cyndaquil crawled out and started to roll around on the bed to get comfortable. Fletchling hopped off her head and started to pick at the blankets with its beak. She smirked at them and waved to them as she maneuver to her dresser, ”Glad you guys are getting’ comfy but don’t get too relaxed we’ll be leaving as soon as I change,”but they weren’t looking too concerned, still going about messing up her bed. She sighed and went back to picking out some more comfortable clothes. She picked out a pair of running shorts, a tank and knee high socks, seemed appropriate, the weather was nice so she didn’t have to be too worried about being cold, but she skipped to the closet. She took off her blazer and hung it up and exchanged it for her summer hoodie. It was one of her favorites. She took all she had and went to the bathroom to get ready.
A few moments later she walked out with her uniform folded up in her arms and zipping up her hoodie. She placed her uniform on top of her dresser then plopped onto the bed. The bounce moved Cyndaquil and Fletchling, making them seemingly giggle. She reached down and put her red sneakers back on. Usually with this outfit, which was something she liked to wear during the summer, she would wear her sandals, but again this was September and she had to think about it a little more. She turned her body and stretched for her bag. She took out her pokegear and the pokeballs along with her wallet, not sure where they would end up, and re-packed it all in her travel backpack purse. She stood up and tapped her shoes on the floor to make sure they were on good enough then held her arms out to the pokemon,"Are you guys ready?" Cyndaquil rolled himself back up to a standing position and happily scurried up her arm and curled around on her shoulder. Fletchling skip-hopped up her arm and took place on her other shoulder. Having them both there brought a bright smile to her face,”Okay bye room!" She called into the air. She took out her key and re-locked the door as she left. Then she jogged back to the main campus. Hopefully she didn’t take too long to get ready.

It was morning already...It felt like yesterday went on and on until Koru just didn't notice then bam morning crept up on her. After everything that happened in town she had gotten back to her room and laid under the covers and continued to cry. She had Cyndaquil to cuddle for comfort but losing her eyes she couldn't help but remember everything Ray said and did, and it only made her feel worse. Somehow she had managed to fall asleep, but it didn't feel like it was very long at all. She crossed both arms over her face to shield from the sun coming in through the window. Cyndaquil lifted his head, aware of her movements. She laid their peeking through her arms at the ceiling and sighed loudly. She rose up up in a quick lift then slumped slightly forward. She groaned, starting to feel soreness from yesterday, that fall may have been worse than she had previously thought. She scratched her head then caught eyes with Cyndaquil. Still sleepy in expression she planted her hand on his head and started to pet. She still looked tired and Cyndaquil wasn't sure how to take this affection. He was ready to scoot closer to her but he jumped when she turned herself around and let her legs hang off the edge of the bed. The movement made her wince and lean forward,”Ow! Ow ow ow ow ow...!” She hunkered and held her knees with each hand and tried to grip the pain that was freed when she moved. She took her hands off and groaned seeing the band-aids she had put on were already needing to be changed. She hesitantly tried to stand up and the pressure of doing so was more obvious, making her legs shake and stumble. She put her hand on the bed to prop her up until she managed to make it to the bathroom. While in the there she got ready-ish and changed the band-aids on her knees and chin, which actually wasn't all bad as her knees.
She came back into the room, Cyndaquil raising up hoping she would look different, but there wasn't much except her hair was a little rustled, but her expression was still practically blank. She wobbled over to the closet and pulled out her gym clothes. Looking at them she got to thinking that being this sore she might not want to go to gym today- but she would hate missing class and wouldn't want to miss anything. She rustled her hair feeling conflicted now and turned to Cyndaquil slumping,"Should I go today? I don't think I can handle anything right now...” This was very strange coming from her- Cyndaquil was feeling more worried than before. He remembered one time she fell out of a tree and borke her arm, but she didn't feel down about it all. Maybe it was involving that boy from yesterday too...Cyndaquil decided to speak it's mind, "Cynda quli quila cy da qu da quil cyndaquil cyn cyn quil da!” Koru's eyes were fully open and wide with surprise, she had never heard him say so much at once. Cyndaquil looked at her waiting for an answer to his heartfelt words. Koru rustled her hair again a little confused but finally gave a Cyndaquil a silly smirk to look at,"I have no idea what you just said but I know you're right! Okay time to get ready!" She raised and pumped her fist in the air like she usually does then walked back to the bathroom, still a little slow to lessen the pain of a step.Cyndaquil smiled then spun around and snuggled back into the blankets to wait for her.
About 20 minutes passed before she stepped out again. She was wearing her uniform, a red gym suit with rolled up sleeves and pant legs, the jacket half zipped revealing a black t-shirt that had a yellow flame decal with the words "Keep On Burnin'" in bold letters. A yellow scrunchie was around her wrist, but she had no plans yet to put it on. She rustled her hair instead of brushing it today, knowing with gym she would want to shower again after it was over, so there wasn't too much point in worrying about it. She started to do a few warm up stretches to wake herself up and get all the cricks out of her legs. Cyndaquil watched whilst still on the bed. He had slept for quite some time and was wide awake, but all that exercise was tiring him out just watching it alone. She was still wincing but kept doing the stretches knowing they would help. She kept herself rose up after the 20th bend and plopped back on the bed next to Cyndaquil. She bent over, tied her shoes on, all the while Cyndaquil was climbing onto her by her back. She pushed herself up again and grabbed her bag, but realized she hadn't switched her bags out from yesterday. Her eyes narrowed remembering the events again. Now she got to worrying about Ray not being in class... She shook her head and slung the small back over her shoulder."Hecan do it...I know he can..." She mumbled under her breath. She stumbled out the door and, with any luck, make it out of the dorm and not fall down the stairs...why did the girls have to be on the second floor?!

Cyndaquil could feel something heavy on his chest-wait no it was his whole body? He struggled until he awoke and found he was being pinned by his trainer’s arm. After Koru found her friends yesterday and returned to the dorm she just couldn’t sleep from being too happy- then suddenly she walered around the bed into a dead sleep. The blanket was almost kicked off the entire bed and her other arm rest above her head. He was ready to squeal to wake her up, but something did the job for him. ”BRING RINg RING RING RING~” Koru shot awake and rolled over off the side of the bed, ”WHA!”She crashed the ground landing on her face and arm while the rest of her still barely rested on the bed. Cyndaquil raised himself up feeling freedom to move at last and looked over the edge, but then got scared by the continuation of the ringing, "Quil!" His flame lit up and he suddenly released a smokescreen that started to fill the air. Koru covered her face and coughed from the smoke, ”Cyndaquil stop! Ack cou-!"Cyndaquil rushed under the covers to hide and Koru rolled completely onto the floor to prop herself onto the bed. She continued to cough and wave her hands in the air to disperse the smokescreen. She looked towards the source of the sound and saw her pokegear was flashing.She reached for it but it stopped when she finally grabbed it. She took a look and saw on the screen she had one missed called from Li Xiantian. She pouted and sighed annoyed,”Ah man! It was Xia! Let's see if I can-oh wait a voicemail..."She stopped the process of re-dialing when she saw there was a message now. She clicked the button to play it and...well it sounded like she was talking to someone else and not directly to her. Koru continued to stare at the pokegear less than enthusiastic,”I...guess she butt dialed me then?" It was a little funny but now she was feeling like all of her excitement about Xia calling her for something was all for naught. Something caught her ears, "Yes!! I have a surprise for Koru! She would be so happy that I can’t wait to see!" A little bit of Koru's face began to blush and she heldher hand at her cheek, ”Wow a surprise! That's so sweet," She turned off the message and stood up. Cyndaquil became aware of her movements and poked his head out of the covers. She smiled and started to rub his head and chin at the same time, ”I guess we better get ready to go see Xia! You'll get to see Fong too!" Cyndaquil tilted his head- then remembered the quiet fighting type Koru was speaking of. The Mienfoo wasn't scary, but Cyndaquil wasn't too sure of him yet. Koru ran around from the bathroom to her closet and dresser to get ready within the next few minutes. She zipped up her hood and let Cyndaquil onto her shoulder and she grabbed her bag,”Come on let's...hm..."She glanced down at her pokegear in her hand. It had been awhile but it wouldn't hurt could it? She opened the messaging and typed up a quick message to Ray:
Hey Ray haven't heard from you in a while are you okay? I think I met a friend of yours yesterday. Please answer when you get the chance I miss you.

Sending that made her feel a little stiff- though her injuries were already better she just felt that something was going to happen that she couldn't stop. She rubbed her face with both hands and started walking to the door,”Okay let's really get going Cyndaquil...Oh yeah and here's a treat for ya for being so good yesterday!" She pulled out the bag of rare candies and held them up to Cyndaquil while walking out the door. He happily took one at a time while left the room and off to find Xia.
