One thing that Kirsi hadn't expected about coming back to the academy was how excited she was. As much as she loved break, being back among all of her friends and learning about pokemon again was actually something she was looking forward to. The second thing Kirsi hadn't expected about coming back was to be called to the daycare first thing. Were they going to see the dragon pokemon again? She didn't think so; maybe some pokemon had hatched over break? She looked briefly for Mr.Bennett, wondering if maybe there was some breeding lesson everyone was going to be taught.
Although Kirsi didn't see any obvious reason they were there, she was happy to get the chance to say hello to everyone. She was taken aback by how Iris was talking so amiably to Cyril, but then realized she shouldn't be surprised, Iris probably found it easy to talk to anyone. Kirsi approached almost shyly; since she'd chatted with Iris over break, she felt a little more like they might be friends. Ever since she found out Iris and Maria were friends, she felt like maybe she could be friends with Iris too. Kirsi still wasn't really sure where she stood with Cyril though. "Hey guys," she said, smiling. Chance was by Kirsi's side, tail (and butt) wriggling with joy at seeing all the nice humans again. Kirsi said hi to Ava as well.
Kirsi also turned her attention to Nirav, who she was determined visit the library with sometime soon. "Hey Nirav. It's a lot warmer at your home, right? Is it hard to get used to how cold it is here?" Kirsi herself actually was warm while at Ordell, often not even zippering up her coat. "Oh, Cyril, did you ice skate at all at home?" she asked. She hadn't gone out much, instead spending most of her time trying to train some with Chance and Kai.

Jung-Su huffed into his gloves, a feeble attempt at heating himself up in this cold air surrounding him. The weather had quite a striking difference from the temperature back at home and even more so from his grandparents' home in Verdanturf. Perhaps it was due to the warming meals and company his grandparents had given him during his stay but who was to say that this was truly the case. It was a shame that his father could only squeeze in a few short days in his hectic work schedule to see the lad but Jung was more than happy to see him if at all. And it was not as if he was alone either; he had his loving and understanding grandparents by his side. It was quite the surprise to chance upon meeting his only friend during his vacation as well.
Upon his return to the academy, Jung came refreshed with a new sense of hope. The downtime had turned his negativity into a somewhat lukewarm neutrality with the tiniest hint of positivity lurking about. He was instructed to gather at the daycare center, an area they had been to a few days prior to their holiday departure. He hadn't the foggiest as to what was planned yet anticipation slowly swelled upon trying to guess what could the reasoning could be. Nonetheless all he could do in the meantime was wait.
It had seemed that students had already gathered around the location. As eyes scanned the situation did his short-lived courage escape him once more. The familiar faces of classmates speaking fondly? to each other had more than reminded him of how alone he was at school with the only exception being Tera. He was set on a course to changing that yet time and time again did he back down in fear of messing up and overthinking the situation. Perhaps this event would allow him this change? Again, only time could tell. That and perhaps a tackle nudge in the proper direction.

Winter break had been an interesting time. Some things happened that he wasn't expecting and he actually exchanged messages with Tera and Iris during the break. He got to see his family and spend time with them during the break. There was a lot of news that he received and even surprises, but eventually he started missing the academy. So had experienced so much already from his short time in Ordell which was something that he didn't think would happen had he stayed in Celestic Town. He wanted to know what new experiences waited for him and the break was just long enough.
Two days had already passed since the return to the academy and the students were greeted with warm welcomes. He saw several familiar faces, but because he wasn't close with anyone, except for Tera, he didn't really have a tearful reunion with his classmates. Speaking of the pink-haired girl, he had yet to see her since their return. Everyone was readjusting themselves so it was probably fair to assume that he wouldn't run into everyone; after all, he hadn't seen Iris, Koru, or Skylar either. He blinked wondering why his thoughts shifted to the three of them. Speaking of Skylar, he had attempted to properly thank her by sending a message. He spend hours trying to write what he was feeling, but in the end he couldn't come up with anything. Marco decided that he wanted to meet her face to face and thank her. However, he wasn't quite sure how their relationship was right now. They overcame a life-and-death trial together, but because of the winter break neither of them had the opportunity to see each other after the events of Leoconoe District.
Today, all students were asked to go to the Daycare. Marco arrived and saw several students were already present and waiting. He blushed a little remembering how he made a fool of himself in front of everyone in this very Daycare. On that day a title of 'wild' had been placed on him due to his random behavior. Not a lot of people talked to him after that, but because no one really talked to him before it wasn't a big deal. At least they weren't picking on him instead he was being ignored. His classmates in Celestic Town often pushed him or even punched him on some occasions so this was a much better alternative.
Marco frowned tried to ignore those bad memories. He wasn't in that school, he was here in Ordell Academy, and he had a chance to have a normal school life here. "I wonder why everyone is gathered here," Marco thought out loud. He happened to have spoke while he was standing next to a brown-haired boy. He remembered seeing him with Tera occasionally, "you're...Jung-su," Marco commented turning to the boy. The black-haired boy's eyes widen suddenly realizing how forward that was. Being lost in his thoughts might have caused another slip of the tongue. He faced Jung-su and bowed to him, "sorry, that was really forward...um, m-my name is Marco, I'm friends with T-Tera," he looked up from his position, "its nice to see you..uh, how was winter break?" Somehow trying to make things less awkward, Marco felt like he was being more awkward instead as he rubbed the back of his head while chuckling nervously.

Marcus walked into the Daycare still groggy from having woken up late. Valiant had been rowdy ever since evolving and he had been struggling to keep him calm ever since. The Vigorotth was now inside of it's pokeball, as Marcus wouldn't exactly carry it around with much ease. Philip and squeeze were out, however, the ekans was wrapped around his shoulders in her usual fashion while the ducklett simply waddled behind him. Marcus took a bite from the breakfast burrito he had made as a quick breakfast taking out some scrambled egg to give to Phillip. He had learned the duck Pokemon liked eggs as a treat while helping his dad make breakfast during the break. It was a bit odd but his dad had said duckletts were the kind of Pokemon to eat everything. Phillip also liked, he had discovered, corn and lettuce. But of course he liked peat moss better than anything. Maybe I can take him swimming after class, Marcus thought. Phillip hadn't been able to swim at all during the break due to how cold it had gotten. He smiled thinking of the break, he had managed to get through it without any more yelling-partly because his mother had headed to Kanto ahead of time. Elijah had arrived later that day and spent Christmas with him and his father's family in Sinnoh. Then a flight to Kanto, and Hannukah with his mother and maternal family. There had been some tension when his father had dropped him off, since he and his mother had not been happy to see each other but his dad had left that night and the festivities were off. Elijah seemed to have had a good time, and for that Marcus was glad. He hadn't been sure what to say to him about missing his brother....he had never lost anyone before...but he had tried. He noticed the Daycare fill with more and more people, most of which he knew. After going to Ordell for most of the school he knew most everyone in class E. He had been considering approaching Iris but when Kirsi approached both her and Cyril Marcus opted to go talk to Ava. "Hey Ava, nice being back ?" he asked turning his attention to his friend "How was your holiday?"

Koru ran to the daycare center after almost having slept in. It was tough getting back into the routine after vacation.
It had been so much fun to see her family, she was practically blown away that her sister had come to pick her up in the first place. She had never been so happy to see Kenna and the tears her big sister had shed proved to be the same for her. Home hadn’t changed but with everything Koru had went through at school it was like being back for the first time in years. The highlight was probably when she introduced her pokemon and her dad, mom and Kenna totally freaked when they saw Cyndaquil had gone shiny and it took a lot of explaining...and showing the instructions she had saved from the poke-dazzler.
She loved the holidays and with Fletchling and Cyndaquil in top form it was even more fun. She still couldn’t figure out what her dad meant when he said Cyndaquil was looking different, and not from his color. She had been worried for a while now that he might have been sick or something, but he was still his sweet self...something jsut seemed off.
She cried saying goodbye to her family again, especially Kenna who had to leave home a few days early to get back to her job in Kalos, but she reminded Koru of their promise to battle when she was stronger and that cheered her up a bit.
Back at school now Koru reached the daycare and calmed her pace, seeing a few she called friends, and a few she didn’t. Marcus was there talking to Ava, the girl with the cute Spinarak. She was certainly happy to see her friends, but she felt a slight grip on her stomach looking at him. She turned away and saw Kirsi talking with Nirav and the others. She jumped in place and scurried over, taking the girl into a surprise hug,"Kirsi!"she rubbed her cheek against the girl’s and Cyndaquil popped out of her scarf, though she didn’t really need one she felt warm most of the time any way,”It’s great to see you guys!"
Cyndaquil immediately went to cuddle his friend Chance. Having been around Koru’s father’s Arcanine had reminded him of Chance all too much, and now here he was.
It had been earlier that morning that she arrived back at the school. After the events that had transpired during the winter festival she was left rather busy helping repair what had been destroyed. The dragons were peaceful, but she could still feel they were shaken by what had occurred, and they seemed to have almost fear human contact for a while, she being the only one of the care takers to approach them without hostility. The thief that ruined what would have been a beautiful occasion had left her with more questions than answers to his motives. What caused her to take action now though- was the students. She could never forget what they all did and she needed to approach them. Their deeds should not be merely looked over.
Slowly but surely students filed into the daycare center, giving her a bit of nostalgia from her first meeting with them, but this time would be very different. They all appeared different, keeping her eyes locked on each child and investigating their behavior. She was curious to the kind of people they were or could be, but the dragons knew. She checked the time and found that it was time she gave them reason for this meeting. She greatly appreciated the school for letting her do this after all that had happened.
She stepped toward the students and she watch them fall silent as her presence became known. She bowed her head and inhaled a breath to speak calmly, unbuttoning the top of her jacket like before to reveal her full face, "Hello again students...." a pause for them to accept her greeting, "For some of you it has certainly been awhile since we saw each other last, but in the later case we had met only recently...at the Winter Festival..." Her hawk like glare was sharp and didn't deter from the students, "My name...is Frappe, and I am the care taker of the dragons, I live with them, comfort them, and protect them. The events that took place at the Winter Festival ravaged the peace my dragons have had for such a long while...I never anticipated such an assault, and because of my shortcomings you children became involved in the ensuing chaos my poor pokemon caused."she reached into her pocket and pressed on a pokeball inside. From the ball a familiar dragon appeared before them. It cooed and glanced over the students with its blank pink eyes, ever staring, "This is Drampa, a rare dragon from a far region called Alola. Some of you may recognize this one from the festival. She is usually very calm and tranquil, I love to read to her sometimes. Someone unbeknownst to me stole a egg from my dragons and ignited the fire to the chaos at the festival, sending my poor mothers into rages unlike anyone had seen."
Her poker face, one that she kept most of the time she was seen, broke with a small smile, "But your bravery, your strength, it helped save the people of the district and importantly returned the eggs to me and my mothers,"The Drampa cooed again as she nuzzled her large face into Frappe's hand, "We can never begin to thank you, when just as children you were put in more danger than anyone would have wanted for you, but the mothers and I came to a solution. Please follow me..."She turned her back to them again and opened the door to walk out to the outside pens.
A familiar scene greeted the students as they entered the outside area, baby dragon pokemon. Only this time the very dragons they had fought at the district were there standing with them, but there was no hostility present. Frappe turned to them and held out her hands, "Though only children, you have proven your worth to be brave trainers and we saw it fit that you should bond with the young ones in the hopes you can help make a better future alongside them. Please find each other..."

Ava said hello to Kirsi as she passed by. The two didn't talk a whole lot, but the interactions they did have were always rather pleasant. Ava watched as Kirsi moved towards a few other boys, Nirav and Cyril. She didn't know either of them very well. It wasn't long before Marcus soon came up to her, asking about the holiday. She smiled to her friend, happy to see everyone again now that they were all back. "Hey Marcus! My break was great. My family had moved to a new city just before I came to the academy, so I was finally able to look around there. It was kind of like a vacation." With a small laugh, Ava dug around in her pockets and pulled out her pokegear, pulling up a few photos she took while at home. A lot of them were of the planes going in and out of the town. "There's a whole bunch of planes that go in and out of Mistralton so while my parents worked, my brother and I got to watch them. What about you? How was your break?" Ava was curious as to what Marcus was up to. Heck, where did he even live? She couldn't quite remember where the boy was from.
Not long after starting up the conversation, a woman gathered the students' attention. Ava recognized her from the dragons thing she had done just before the festival. She listened as Frappe spoke about the winter festival and the dragon attacks that had gone on. Apparently, someone had stolen the eggs of the mothers, which sent them into a rage. It was painful to know that something so kind looking as Frappe's Drampa had been hurt and worried like that. Ava followed the crowd into the pens to see the same pokemon from the dragon petting zoo. As Frappe explained that each student would be able to raise one, Ava's eyes widened. Was she serious? Ava didn't know a whole lot about dragon pokemon, but looking between all the options, it wasn't much of a debate for her. She grinned towards the group of Druddigon. They were much bigger than any pokemon she had before, much bigger than Fritz and Gala would ever get to be, she imagined. But she was up for the challenge. She helped one of the baby Druddigon towards her before looking to Frappe. "Thank you!" she said with a smile. She was careful in leading Druddigon around, remembering how rough their skin was and how sharp their talons were. Thankfully, she was able to find Marcus again. "Marcus! I think I found my pokemon. Which pokemon are you choosing?" Ava smiled bright. Druddigon wasn't a bug pokemon in the slightest, but she couldn't help but be curious about it.

Niara was in hiding since the attack. Most of her time was spent in her room in almost crippling paranoia. But someone eventually appeared to drag her out convince her to join everyone at the Daycare. She was very hesitant, but with Mitus contributing to coaxing her out, he decided to go with it. She was pretty cautious of virtually everything now, but having Mitus in her arms helped keep her calm.
Once they arrived at the Daycare, she was immediately met with the sight of one of the dragons that attacked. She almost turned right back around to leave, but other students piled in and she felt trapped. Against her will, she listened to Frappe introduce herself and explain the situation and Niara started to feel bad for the dragons and guilty about judging the dragons. After all, she wouldn't know what to do either if she lost Mitus or any of her little friends. But it was Frappe leading them to the baby dragons that confused Niara. They were being put in charge of the baby dragon pokemon now?
Mitus hopped out of Niara's arms to see one of the baby dragons approaching: a Noibat. The two eyed eachother and examined eachother with incredible curiosity. Niara could only witch feeling quite tense. The Noibat kept sniffing about her Ralts. Eventually, Mitus extended his arm but accidentally booped the Noibat on his little nose. The Noibat recoiled and shook her head like he was about to sneeze then watched Mitus cautiously. After a few moments of staying perfectly still in caution of the Ralts, he approached slowly then quickly bopped Mitus on the head with one of his little wings before going to hide behind Niara's leg.
Mitus recoiled from being bopped on the head by an adorable fluffy little wing. He looked about after recovering and noticed the Noibat trying to hide. Niara simply watched with curiosity and confusion. Eventually it clocked for her and she looked around to look down at the Noibat who, after a moment of watching Mitus, looked up at Niara. After a few tense moments, Niara tentatively reached down to pick up the little Noibat. It... It was too cute! I suppose I can try... We'd have to find a name for you... The Nobat looked at her confusedly like it was trying to figure out just what she was saying. It even blinked a few times before looking at Mitus who reached up to tug on Niara's skirt. She looked over and helped mitus up to cradle him in her other arm. She started to think "This feels kind of... right. They're both too adorable!"

The room started to fill with students but Iris noticed that was someone that she definitely saw back in class. Iris fretted with the idea before she sighed and disappeared to retrieve the missing student.....
Iris turned with the classmate in hand just as whatever was suppose to happen started. Iris looked on to see that it was the girl from before when they were first introduced to the baby dragon pokemon. Now that she was looking around, she was really noticing who was here. She looked at Kirsi, whom she had spoken to over the break, as well as Koru and then Marco and Jung-su talking to each other. Iris turned her attention back to the caretaker. Iris waved to the girl as greeted them. She introduced herself as the caretaker of the dragons and how her 'shortcomings' caused the events of the winter festival as well as having students like Iris get involved. Iris shuffled into her shoes a little since she didn't think that she did that much, her pokemon did more than her.
She was surprised when a new dragon pokemon appeared before them. She heard about a pokemon of this description at the ice rank. Iris looked at the cooing pokemon. How could a pokemon like this bring so much destruction? Iris gasped when she realized that the eggs that the thief took and they were trying to get back belongs to the pokemon that went on the ramapage. They weren't vicious pokemon. They were mothers that wanted their children back. That made Iris' eyes water up just as Frappe thanked them, talking about how they got the mother's eggs back. That made her smile as she and others were told to follow her. Iris did so and was surprised by the sight of the pokemon from winter event looking at them calmly and with gratitude.
The girl became agaped when Frappe basically told them they were chosen to bond with a dragon pokemon. Iris was flabbergasted as she stepped to the young ones. Any of them would be an honor to bond with but she looked at the pokemon and wanted to click with of them...
Iris stopped when looked down. One of the gibles walked up to her sniffed around her. Iris sniffed herself...what was the pokemon smelling. Iris waved her hand at the gible. The gible looked up and waved too. Iris chuckled as the Garchomp mother looked on.. Looking at the Garchomp, her eyes sparkled. Such a beautiful pokemon The color, the markings, her air. Looking down at the Gible, a hand ran over the rough skin that was warm. The Gible cooed before taking a nibble at Iris' hand. Instead of recoiling back in pain, Iris giggled before digging in her back to get a poke snack.
"I think this would be tastier than my fingers." Iris said as she sat down. Iris didn't have to coaxed before the pokemon was sitting in her lap as if this was something they had down before. "Yea, this is nice." Iris said as she gave the Gible a poke pellet.
Jung-Su practically jumped out of his skin when a voice suddenly spoke to him, even more so at the call of his name. The lad was surprised beyond belief that anyone bothered to remember his name. He thought himself to be a background piece, someone not worth the attention especially due to his ineptitude as what and how a 'normal' person should be. What surprised him more however was who chose to speak to him. The Flygon had remembered the Charizard lad from ranking n the tournament and even saving him once in the haunted mansion. What was someone as accomplished and kind as Marco talking to someone like himself? "Y-Yes... Hello..." His voice barely escaped his lips as he spoke, his eyes on the ground, occasionally taking glances at the other lad. Would it be creepy of him to tell Marco that he already knew who he was? His mind was too much in a tizzy to think logically. At the mention of Marco thinking himself too forward did Jung properly turn to face him, a bit too suddenly in fact. "N-N-No! N-Not at all!" Earnest eyes stared at raven haired lad hoping his feelings reached him. He was quite happy that anyone bothered to talk to someone as hopeless as himself, even if it was making him sweat bullets. The only other person who bothered to do so had been the very friend Marco had mentioned. Speaking of which, where was the lass? Glancing around had garnered no results. It seemed like it would be a question that would remain unanswered for the moment. "L-L-Likew-w-wise... M-My b-b-break was o-okay... Y-You?" He hesitantly said in response remembered what had transpired on his vacation. Was he actually having a normal conversation with another person? He somewhat surprised himself at the minor feat! So much so that the lad did not take notice of how nervous the other party was.
A silence swept the room when a familiar lass had made her presence known to the students. Upon hearing her greetings and the explanation of what had transpired the day before their vacation had made the lad feel sick to his stomach in guilt. He knew that not only Tera but the rest of his peers were out there somewhere, possibly fighting for their lives and safety yet his feet remained planted in fear in the room he was too afraid to leave. In his cowardice he had decided to hide himself in the housing complex and every waking moment did he cursed himself for it. He found himself undeserving of the gift given to him and sat himself far from the baby dragon pokemon waiting for everything to settle down and be over with. As he huddled in the corner a curious, quiet baby pokemon, purplish in hue had approached him unbeknownst the lad.

Cyril turned to see who had called him. It was Iris, since she was waving, it prompted him to return the gesture, if not somewhat hesitant and curious about why she chose to greet him. They were pretty much stranger as he had never talked to her nor paid particular attention before they faced each other as opponent back at the festival. What happened then did wonder in instilling a sense of camaraderie, but even then, they don't keep in touch or anything and so he don't know her."Morning," he replied back and paused as he considered her question, was it cold? "not particularly," he chose to say.
Not long after, Kirsi approached them, followed by Nirav. "Hello," Cyril greeted them. He still felt somewhat awkward with her, but their exchange over pokegear had done wonder in easing the problem. He won't say he will be comfortable yet, but he could say Kirsi is somewhat a friend along with Koru, he hoped. "A little bit. I don't have much chance to enjoy ice skating. What about you?" he answered after a moment of thought. What little of skating he did was to cross a river or so he didn't trip over a frozen puddle that littered icirrus city. His time was instead dedicated to running chore around the house and training both Aisha and Siegrid. To Nirav he asked with concern, "Don't you get to borrow winter coat from the academy?" it was clear the boy was feeling the chill again from how he acted.
Koru Joined them too and their group grew in size. He had to stifle a laugh at Kirsi's surprised expression when Koru hugged her. it was quite an overboard show of affection. He felt warm inside to be surrounded by friends and it had nothing to do with the weather.

Finally academy employee showed up, the very same daycare staff that showed them baby dragon. Cyril listened to her announcement and praise toward their effort. He felt proud at first, then frowned as he knew he didn't do anything to warrant a praise. His first thought at the time was to leave after all and he would still choose that course of action if he isn't staying for his friends. The academy seemed to encourage them and he did get that they wanted to nurture virtue. its just, it felt wrong to him, so he watched as one by one, students started picking pokemon of their choice. "It's the same dragon as before," he commented at the selection. "Any idea what you guys want?" he asked the remaining group as iris had gone to pick her choice. "I don't think . . . I can pick any of them," Cyril told them as he continued to watch. He had his eyes on a trapinch that he spent his time with, but, he thought he shouldn't take them if he didn't feel that spark of bond. Also there was another pokemon that caught his eyes and they weren't here.

Marcus listened to Ava as she told him about his break. He was honestly glad that the two of them were okay now. He had hated it when she had gotten mad at him. And it was all because of Koru, he thought. Although his thoughts didn't stay on that topic. He didn't want to be thinking of negative things when he could talk to Ava about winter break. "That sounds awesome!" he said when she finished telling him about her parents moving to a new city "What city was it?" He looked at the pictures Ava had take from home. She seemed to focus a lot on planes. Speaking of which. "My break was good" he said when she asked about what he had done. His parents had fought a lot but that was more or less par for course lately. "It was..yeah it was fun. Elijah flew in from Hoenn, we spent Christmas together." he said smiling at the memory. His sister had all but ran Elijah over with questions upon meeting him "We spent Hannukah with my grandparents in Pewter City. Got to see my cousins and oh we had a Charizard race! My uncle took me on a hike and I got to see him and my mom at the Ranger station" he said showing him a picture on his phone of all the charizards in his mother's family ( quite a few) flying into Pewter. Each with an aunt or uncle atop them. It was a tradition in his mother's family. It was how they usually arrived to Pewter. "Valiant got to see his troop in Eterna forest too" he said moving on to the next picture on his gallery. It showed Valiant, now a Vigoroth approaching a group of Slaking, Vigoroth, and Slakoth. It seemed to have been taken from a distance. "Sorry it's not...y'know that good I...last time I got too close to a Slaking I got grounded...and broke my arm." he said scratching at the back of his neck sheepishly. Eight year old Marcus had thought if he saw The Ferligator Hunter approach wild pokemon all the time, then surely he could do it too. And it had gone well for a while. His mother, a full-fledged Ranger had let him know in a lecture containing very colorful language and which to his younger self had seemed to last for hours just why exactly that wasn't how things worked and if he ever did it again he wouldn't see daylight for weeks. "I guess he wanted to show them he evolved," he said looking at the picture. Valiant's evolution had been another surprise. The concussion he'd had at the Dragon attack had ensured that he forgot he even saw it. Until a vigoroth had tackled hugged him upon waking up that is. When the woman walked in, Marcus' eyes inmediatly snapped to the Dragon pokemon she released. He felt some unease, remembering all the destruction that had happened in the district. For a while all he could remember was how he had been ready to battle a Tyranitar-something his older cousins had reamed him out for properly upon finding out. Although at least they hadn't told their parents...or his parents for that matter. He felt the tension ebb away as the Drampa nuzzled her trainer however, and it was explained just why the dragon pokemon had been so wound up. Who in the world goes around stealing dragon eggs, Marcus thought feeling a swell of righteous fury. That was a horrible-and stupid, oh so stupid, more stupid than his eight year old's attempt to approach a troop of Slaking- it made something in him stir. Maybe it was his Ranger blood? Uncle Eliot would have sounded those dudes but good, he thought now thinking of the Rangers in his family. They had instilled in him a respect for all Pokemon, even the ones that seemed dangerous or that people didn't like. He lit up when the lady said they could keep one of the dragon pokemon. Really? Dragon pokemon were hard to find, and even harder to train. Marcus knew from stories at his uncle's job that they could be force to be reckoned with. "Awesome" he whispered, although he doubted anyone but Ava could hear him. He couldn't help but crack a grin, when Ava seemed to know exactly where to go. She had gone to the Driddigon and come back with a baby pokemon. Marcus' eyebrows shot up. It was a change from her usually tiny companions that was for sure. None the less he smiled, glad his friend had found a pokemon she could be excited about. "No kiddin, It's great. Do you mind if I scan it?" Dudrigon was one of the few pokemon he couldn't quite recall knowing a lot about. He had watched some documentaries on dragons but they always seemed to avoid this one ( maybe because they were Kanto-focused?) Scanning it would at least give him a chance to learn about it. He looked around when Ava asked what Pokemon he would pick. He wasn't sure actually.....he liked all the pokemon available. Dei! Deino! Marcus looked up just in time to be tackled down by an energetic blue dragon. He grunted a bit when he hit the ground ( man it was strong even as a baby!) but was mostly unhurt. Laughing a bit, Marcus took out some of the pokesnacks he knew the Deino was looing for. "I think my pokemon found me" he said grinning up at Ava as he pet the Deino, laughing a bit when the pokemon responded by butting it's head into Marcu's hand.

Skylar didn't have the most exciting break ever, it was actually kind of a pain. Her aunt had fussed over her the whole time, nagging at her to take her medication and to do the exercises her therapist prescribed for her. Ace had been supportive, and Ven actually behaved... well most of the time. She pretty much lived at the hospital for a week or two, mostly because she wanted to get back to walking as soon as possible. It didn't take all that long for her to be able to stand without wobbling too much. Her leg did ache, but it was more of a dull ache. A reminder of what had happened, and how she had been in a life or death situation. There were times she lashed out, telling people to stop worrying about her and that she was fine. Though other times it was rather nice that her aunt never left her side despite how mean Sklyar had been. She made sure to thank her aunt when it was time to leave, and she was a bit ashamed of herself. She had acted quite childish, but Skylar supposed it was because she hadn't exactly matured enough.
After getting back to the academy, Skylar was tasked with continuing her stretches as well as taking her medication whenever she felt some sort of discomfort. Skylar tended to avoid taking it unless she was in unimaginable pain, and that wasn't after if at all. She was also given a cane of sorts. It was to help lessen the stress on her injured leg. There was a scar there, etched into her skin. A permanent mark that was never going to go away. Skylar liked to tell herself it was just a reminded that she could get through times of stress, that she could handle things herself. At least that's what she told herself when she went to sleep at night. She'd never admit she had nightmares sometimes either, because the idea was ridiculous. She was alive, and having nightmares a show of mental weakness. She didn't want it, she didn't want to remember that day.
She often times pushed it aside, locking it away deep in her heart. So imagine her surprise when the one pokemon she had feared in her dreams was right there in front of her. He body tensed involuntarily, and she started to swear. Her eyes sharpened, her grip on the cane tightening as she used all her willpower to not run out of the room. She wasn't scared, no she would not show that dragon she was afraid of it. Skylar listened to the dragon handler speak, and she mentioned that the dragons had their eggs stolen. Ah, that was the reason they were so angry. Even though Skylar had almost died, and she had this icky feeling in her chest. At the mention of the reason why the dragons did what they did her eyes softened.
Skylar couldn't stay mad at the Drampa that attacked her, because if their positions were reversed... if Ace was taken from her well, she'd search hell and back to find him. She would crush anyone who got in her way, friend or foe. That kind of blind anger Skylar knew very well, she'd experienced it herself. She let out a sigh, her body relaxing a bit more. She didn't know if she'd ever forget the incident but Skylar supposed that just this once she'd make an exception. She was willing to forgive the dragon, but there would be no second chances. If it happened again...
Skylar didn't finish the thought, and when her head craned down she noticed a pokemon staring up at her. She frowned at it "what are you looking at?" she questioned, brows furrowed. The dragon pokemon didn't seem fazed by her coldness, if fact he seemed to like it, what an odd ball. She watched as the dragon circled her, its head tilting from side to side before it stopped at her side. It's crimson eyes seemed to be staring intently at something, and when she looked down so noticed it was looking at her leg... her scar. She narrowed her eyes "tsk it's rude to stare" she said, hand on her hip.
The dragon snapped its head up, looking a bit guilty before it waddled in front of her. It made a noise, moving forwards as if expecting something from her. She pursed her lips, the dragon handlers words ringing in her head. She blinked, shaking her head "oh no, nope find someone else I already have two trouble makers I have to deal with I don't need a third one" she said, turning her back and walking away. Her cane made a soft bang noise as she moved to the other side of the room, however, when she turned around the Axew was STILL following her.
She looked at him, scowling "what don't you get about 'I don't want you', do you not understand?" she snapped coldly. The dragon had hopeful eyes before she spoke. However, when the words left her mouth Skylar regretted it immediately. The dragon sniffled, tears dripping from its eyes before it started whaling loudly. Skylar panicked "d... don't cry! Come on there are better trainers to chose from than me!" she hissed, kneeling down. She felt pain in her leg as she did so, but what else was she supposed to do? This was drawing attention to her. The Axew just cried harder. She groaned, oh man it was so cute and she made the poor thing cry! She caved in.
She threw her hands up "ok ok! Fine I want you ok, I choose you so... so stop crying or i'll change my mind!" she said. The Axew stopped screeching before looking up at her, sniffling. Skylar tried her best not to look pissed off, she really did. She actually looked like she was sorry. The little dragon rubbed at its eyes before rushing at her and tackling her into a hug. She coughed, the breath being knocked out of her. She wheezed for a second "are you trying to... kill... me?" she asked, her voice dying down as she looked downwards. The little dragon was hugging her, it's head nestled in her chest. Skylar blinked, sighing as she looked upwards. The little baby fell asleep in her arms "uhhh this is going to be annoying isn't it but... it's... not so bad" she said, whispering too herself. She even seemed to look at the baby in her arms fondly, ignoring the fact that her classmates were still in the room with her.

As Kirsi came up towards him, Nirav smiled to her, but his head still remained wrapped around the incident at the winter festival and his family. It seemed that he found himself around Cyril, Iris, and Kirsi and they spoke about ice skating and the cold. Pulling out his pokegear, he glanced to a photo his mother took of him and his brothers, already missing home some. Why did it have to be so cold around here? It wasn't until Kirsi called his name that he snapped out of it and looked towards her again. It took Nirav a few moments to process the question. "At home? Yeah, it's, uh, it's very warm at home, even in the winter." He looked down to the photo on his pokegear before showing it to Kirsi. Nirav stood between three much older, taller, stronger looking brothers, all of whom he bore some sort of resemblance to. They all dressed in light clothing with turbans or visors. Behind them was a bright blue ocean and the bright, hot sun. It was a photo Nirav had been able to take and print, and a copy sat on his desk next to other photos of family members. "Uh, this, for us, is actually pretty cold, but the winter there is nothing like it is here. It's a lot to adjust to, coming back again."Nirav slid the pokegear back into his pocket and pulled his jacket around him as best he could."October here felt like how a bad winter feels at home, to give you an idea." He's been slowly freezing at Ordell since well before Halloween. He could only wonder when the cold would finally let up. As Cyril asked about the winter coat, Nirav shrugged. "They let me borrow one of theirs for the trip, but I had to return it before the break. I... I could try and talk to someone about it." Nirav's only other option was to try and sew together a winter coat, but honestly, he had no clue where to even begin with a project like that. Most of what he sewed with his family were summer wear and traditional clothing. His mother and aunt worked on the occasional wedding dress from time to time, but it wasn't something Nirav had a strong hand in. "I thought about making one as a club project, but I don't even know where to start with something like that... Never made a jacket before, let alone a thick one." Regardless, buying a jacket was definitely out of the question. It was far too expensive, and it'd be useless for 8 months out of the year.Koru soon joined them all, and Nirav laughed a bit as she nearly tackled Kirsi. "It's good to see you, too."Nirav smiled. As much as he missed home, he did miss his friends here too.
Soon, a familiar face spoke to all of them. It was Frappe, from the dragon petting zoo event just before the break. As Nirav followed people inside, he hesitated at the sight of Turtonator among the other dragon pokemon. They didn't seem to mean harm, but the sight of the pokemon still made him uneasy. Trembling slightly, Nirav forced himself to take a deep breath, averting his eyes to the ground as Frappe spoke more. Turtonator, among the other two pokemon that had damaged the district, clearly meant no harm to the students. In fact, they looked rather peaceful. He understood why they were upset. His mother felt intense worry when he took too long to run even a small errand into town, sometimes! However, it did not ease the heavy weight in his stomach, the sinking feeling that things could go wrong once again. As Frappe announced that they would all be taking in a dragon pokemon, Nirav looked up towards her with a little worry. After all of that, they wanted him to raise one? What if that one ended up spewing fire at his head too?
The students were left to make a decision, and some were quicker than others in deciding. Iris seemed to know exactly which she wanted, going towards the sharp-toothed Gibles. Others moved off near the spikey looking Druddigons or the blindly biting Deinos. They all meant no harm, but why did Nirav still feel so tense in this room? Cyril didn't seem to be so sure, either. Nirav almost wanted to leave without taking one, the nightmare of the Winter Festival too burned into his memory. But wouldn't that be rude? As he looked to Cyril and the remaining group, the boy didn't notice one of the nearby Dratini babies coming near him and coiling around his leg."I'm not too sur-- oooooh gosh." Nirav now noticed the Dratini slivering up his leg and froze, unsure of how to handle this. Why was Dratini so long!? He carefully uncoiled the pokemon from around him, only for it to begin wrapping itself around his arm now. The boy continued to try and carefully move himself out from the Dratini, only to find himself wrapped up again. After a few attempts, Nirav stopped, the pokemon coiled around his arm and torso, part of the pokemon still draping off him and onto the floor. Even if Nirav didn't explicitly choose the Dratini, it certainly seemed like the Dratini chose him. Nirav glanced to the mother pokemon, a Dragonite. She didn't seem super unfriendly... Maybe he could work with this. "I, uh, I think it's been decided," he said. With a free hand, Nirav scanned the Dratini. It was the Dragon Pokemon, which told him next to nothing. Nirav was plenty wary about all the dragon pokemon in the room, but Dratini didn't seem like it'd light his turban on fire. Besides, he couldn't help but pet the animal. It was surprisingly soft, more so than the boy imagined it being. He smiled a little. Between Raja, Kumo, and now Dratini, it seemed that most of his pokemon were choosing him rather than the other way around.

Ray actually had a better winter break than he thought he was going to have. Sure the first part of it was depressing, but it was very much necessary. He had spoken with Kirsi about what had happened, and they made up. It was nice to know that they weren't fighting anymore, he wasn't sure if his heart could take more fighting. He was already pretty worn out from everything else, and it was hard on him. He still wasn't completely better, and he still had nightmares. However, he didn't feel like he was drowning anymore. That was a start right? He had even gone camping too. It was fun, but Ray had to admit he was kind of nervous. Koru had been there, and Ray hadn't exactly been nice to her either. He almost ran at the sight of her. Of course Kirsi helped alleviate his fears, but it was still nerve wracking. He was on talking terms with Koru too now, and he was glad. He hadn't been fair to anyone really.
Eventually he went back home and spent the rest of his time with his parents, and they dotted on him like usual. However, he didn't burst out as much in anger anymore. He just relaxed and cuddle his parents back. He'd never admit this out loud but Ray was always weak when it came to cuddles, he didn't really know why but... if he's had to guess it was because he liked the warmth. He craved it really, he wanted to know he wasn't alone. Being so close to someone made him feel strangely safe, but he could never tell anyone that. They'd think he was weird, and he didn't want that. He was just getting better, he didn't know if he could handle anymore drama.
When he came back to the academy, he spoke briefly with his roommate. Other than that not much happened. Ray did often stare at his phone, wondering how Elijah and Marcus were. Oh boy. He still hadn't really talked to either of them yet, and he knew he really needed to apologize for his behavior. He was out of line, he knew that now. However, at the time he was pretty messed up in the head. To be honest he still was messed up, but he'd like to think he was slowly getting better.
So when he arrived at the daycare, he looked around the area a bit. He hadn't noticed Elijah, but he did notice a few other people. It seemed like Marcus was ignoring Kirsi and Koru. Oh boy, he had made up with both the girls but he hadn't with Marcus. He fiddled with his thumbs, would Marcus get mad at him if he all of a sudden seemed chummy with Koru and Kirsi? Ray didn't want to make things awkward between everyone, and even Ray noticed how tense it was for a bit there. He didn't know who to go over to, it was like he was picking a side. Ray hated picking sides, but Ray also he was the biggest reason there were even sides to begin with. Maybe he should just... stay over here for the meantime.
With that in mind, he listened to what the dragon handler said and looked around. A lot of the babies actually kind of look intimidating. He just pictured what they looked like all grown up, and they looked scary! He shivered, rubbing his arms before noticing a smaller pokemon. It looked kind of like a snake? Curious, he shuffled over and looked at the pokemon more closely. It seemed that it was the same dragon pokemon he saw the last time he was here, a Dratini if he remembered correctly.
He gave the pokemon a shy smile when it took notice of him. The pokemon moved towards him, gently rubbing against his leg. Ray laughed a bit "you're not scary, you're actually kind of cute..." he said softly, before gently scratching under her chin. The pokemon seemed to hum happily, before its tail wrapped around his wrist. Ray blinked before looking down at it "uh... you like being scratched that much?" he asked. Dratini looked at him with affection, and it sort of caught him off guard for a moment. They'd just met, but it looked like the pokemon had fallen in love with him or something! He sheepishly rubbed the back of his head "er... wanna come with me? I'm not um... all that strong and I cry a lot but... but I'll take good care of you, promise" he said smiling softly, before holding out his finger. Dratini seemed to consider it, before unwrapping her tail from his wrist. She then moved and wrapped her tail around his finger gently. Ray smiled "it's a deal then" he said.
Dratini squealed happily, before climbing up his arm towards his shoulders. Ray turned his head, surprised at how fast she was. He felt her snuggle up around the back of his neck, her head resting on his right shoulder. He laughed softly, scratching under her chin again "how about I call you Aqua? I know it's a bit um... cliche but I think it suits you" he said. Aqua rubbed her head against Ray's cheek happily. Ray smiled more "guess that's a yes" he said.
