Their combination attack had to taking its toll on Slowbro...right? Marco actually couldn't tell what the pink Pokemon was thinking, its face so stationary. Even when getting attacked, it didn't seem to change its expression at all. Marco just hoped that his attacks were getting through somehow; maybe he was way over his head thinking he could take on an adult by himself. Nonetheless, he was here now and he wouldn't go down without a fight! Slowbro charged at them and this time with a Zen Headbutt, the 'slow' Pokemon was moving surprisingly fast and it was attacking his Charmander. "Watch out!" Marco called out, but it was too late, his orange pal was knocked into the sky. Charmander cried out in pain, but before his body could start falling to the ground, he was lifted higher into the air. The fire-type pokemon blinked and looked up to see his friend Murkrow carrying him with his feet. The black-feathered Pokemon smiled at his friend to reassure him that they were together on this. "Good job Murkrow!" Marco cheered feeling proud of the teamwork his Pokemon were demonstrating. "It's time for a counter attack," Marco smiled feeling a little more confident after seeing his Pokemon's determination. He noticed that the bad guy's Slaking did not make a move, which was really curious. Marco took out his PokeGear to get some information on Slaking; apparently it had an ability which caused it to not be able to attack multiple times. The boy sweat-dropped, this Pokemon really was the king of laziness.
"Charmander use Dragon Rage!" Marco called out as Murkrow dove down while carrying Charmander who was charging his attack. "Murkrow follow up with another Assurance!" The avian Pokemon released Charmander as the fire-type shot its attack at Slowbro to engulf it in the sphere of energy. Meanwhile Murkrow flew down towards Slowbro and slammed its body against the pink Pokemon. Knowing that Slaking would be taking its time to attack them left them with the opportunity to focus more on Slowbro; once the pink Pokemon went down then their battle against Slaking would be made all the more easier. Or at least that's what the young boy hoped...

Arlo looked over at Marcus as he went on about his aunt being in the police and how he was going to tell him where Harvey was located. The man almost scoffed, but withheld a grin, the boy was getting a lot braver compared to how silent he had been this time. He didn't know about the boy's background so his story about his aunt could very well be true or he could just be lying; that was something kids revert to a lot when they felt cornered. In the end, that didn't matter because once he escaped this island then no one would ever find him. This whole operation turned into a huge bothersome mess all because of a betray in their thief group. He had wasted enough time here and if Moses didn't contact them soon then he would be getting out of here. He would swim if he had to.
Now that Marcus decided to join the fight, his Gogoat started to receive more damage especially from an incoming Wing Attack. His goat pokemon was actually pushed back, but that was to be expected after using Double-Edge twice and being attacked with a super effective move. His Persian was flinched at the sound of the Uproar attacking its sensitive ears. However, that wasn't the end as Iris quickly followed up with Fury Swipes to Persian and an Aerial Ace to Gogoat. Both of his pokemon were pushed back by the combination of attacks coming at them which caused Arlo to clench his fists. The academy was actually doing its job in teaching these students how to be trainers. Both of them were doing a good job and holding their own; if he were a teacher then perhaps he would be proud of their work, but since he was their enemy he was getting really annoyed. This time Arlo couldn't help, but grin and scoff when Iris made her remark about being too loudly. She was getting cheeky.
"Gogoat, use Synthesis." The students were doing well, but he wasn't going to go down that easily. Gogoat could take a hit and this move let his Pokemon make sure to stay in the game by healing a portion of its health. Gogoat would be ready to do this dance all over again and again. While his Pokemon was healing, he would have other Pokemon attack. "Persian use Fury Swipes on Zorua," now would be the time to see which attack hit harder, the nails of a tiny fox or the claws of a large feline. The dark fox had left some scratches on Persian, but he would make sure to leave scars in return. For how long were these kids going to hold out? And more importantly when would they be escaping?
Despite having slow and quite lazy pokemon by the world's standard, the boy Marco would tell a different story due to this battle as the Charmander was sent flying into the air by the Zen headbutt. That hold been the end of the story but this wasn't his book as the pokemon was caught by the Murkrow flying around the area. Kai watched as the boy was putting his all into this battle. He even pulled out his pokedex . Had this been a teaching moment... but it wasn't so Kai didn't dwell on it much afterward. He needed to focus on the battle as the Charmander and Murkrow were diving towards his pokemon. Apparently, this was the aforementioned pokemon attacking, once more using dragon rage and Assurance. His poor pokemon were certainly starting to feel the fatigue of this battle as Kai... that didn't sit well him. "Slowbro..Slaking." Kai called to his pokemon. "Use Slack off." Almost immediately, the two pokemon closed their eyes and started to relax their bodies and themselves as a green light engulfed them. Well Slaking remained in the relaxed state, Slowbro looked from Kai back to Marco.
"Must be nice to be able to sleep. even in the middle of a battle." Kai said as he yawned, directing his attention to Marco.
