A bit of a sigh emanated from Du's lips as she brushed aside more grass in her seemingly never ending search for the next pokemon that she could battle with. The task itself seemed to be getting more than a little tedious with how slow going it was but on the other hand, if she wanted to be a strong fairy trainer than she was just going to have to do this. It would have been nice to have someone to talk to at least, but on the flip side she was more than likely going to be going too slow for the liking of most people. She was plodding along as it was and she certainly didn't want to be rushed on her journey nor did she want to slow anyone down on theirs either. Oh well, a little thought into what she was going to do next and how to do it wouldn't be so bad, right?

Du's patience finally paid off as she finally came across a pokemon that she could take on and get a little more experience for her pokemon. Du ran her fingers over the pokeballs at her waist and finally feel on her shy but effective Pokemon friend, Shaylee, the Cottonee. Du summoned her pokemon with a fancy flick of her wrist. "Come on out, Shaylee. Let's show 'em how powerful the fairy types are!" Shaylee gave a soft, sheepish 'warcry' as she came out of her pokeball and prepared to take the offensive. "Use your Fairy wind, Shaylee!" [ A wild Bunnelby appears! 40/40] Shaylee's eyes narrowed at the wild pokemon and her cotton like body fluffed up and a sudden sparkle emerged from her poofy body before a wind seemed to come out of nowhere and bring the sparkles into the bunnelby. The merciless attack from the fairy move made quick work of the wild pokemon. [Shaylee used fairy wind! 40 damage vs. 40 HP. Bunnelby fainted! Shaylee receives 5 experience!]

The adrenaline rush of the past battle seemed to wear off a little bit and she was once more going to have to try and mentally pace herself for the possibly long moment before finding another pokemon. Du let her mind wander a little bit and tried to think of the future and how she was going to deal with the other gym leaders. She hoped that there were no steel or poison gym leaders here because those gyms would crush her relentlessly, at least for the most part. She knew that there were gyms like that in other area's but hopefully she would be ready for those leaders when the time would come. She heard through the grapevine that there was a new region that opened up not long ago and it sounded like a tropical paradise to her, maybe she should get a cute bikini and head over to the region once this one was over - or maybe just take a break and see what kind of Fairy pokemon there were there! That would be a nice change of pace, after a bunch of battles she was sure that her pokemon would love a bit of a break too.

Du's confidence was starting to get boosted about finding another pokemon to battle. That woman's intuition that she sported was telling her that there was a pokemon hiding nearby. Du picked up her senses a little bit and continued to look around, she was still rather distracted with thoughts of beaches and cute boys. It would be a good distraction for her or a good reward for doing a lot of hard work. She looked over her shoulder to see if there was a pokemon behind her. Her face scrunched up a bit in disappointment when nothing was there but she keep wandering around anyway. She kept with her approach of leveling up her pokemon a bit before moving on and then doing the same thing in the next area. She felt this would be a good way for her to raise her pokemon in smaller, more manageable chunks. It made more sense to her than running into a situation and then struggle to get ahead in one place. That felt a little frustrating to her so it was going to be slow and steady for her, as she was always encouraged to do by her mom.

Du pushed aside the tall grass and finally found what she was looking for, a rather annoyed looking Scatterbug glared up at Du and began to shuffle aggressively towards Du. Du in turn quirked her eyebrow and randomly grabbed a pokemon to help her out. Never one to be a damsel in distress - especially from a bug-type pokemon- Du summoned forth Vivienne, her Marill came to her defence and was quick to take action to help out her human in the situation that she found herself on. [Wild Pokemon Appears: Level 2 Scatterbug] "Okay Vivienne, let's start and finish this with a tackle attack!" Du gave a dramatic point as Vivienne rolled herself into a ball and crashed into the bullying little bug-type and knocked it out in one swift blow. At least the little bug type was smiling finally, even if it was seeing stars and the world pass by in odd colors...

"Great job, Vivienne." Du grinned as she knelt down and gave her pokemon a little high five. Her pokemon were slowly getting stronger and she was starting to feel like her pokemon were getting ready to move on to the next area. Maybe not right away but very soon. She needed to find some trainers to fight against and get her pokemon a bit more of a taste for real combat.

With one more pokemon down and her team growing ever stronger by the march, Du was starting to feel a lot more comfortable with her team. She wasn't quite ready to head off into the next area just yet but over all she was preparing to move onto the next area. Du started to make a mental list of what she might need in order to go further: She need some antidotes, maybe some paralyse heal and other status effects to make sure that her pokemon would be prepared for anything. Du continued to look around at the setting she was in now and continued to look for other pokemon to get stronger with. Du was a little hesitant about bringing her pokemon to the upcoming forest just yet, as almost all of her pokemon were weak against poison, and a lot of the bug types were poisonous. Du grimaced a bit and continued on her search, she had a feeling when she would know when her team was strong enough to go on.

✵Wynter threw the doors open- happy she finally got that right- her sweater fluttering in a breeze. This is it! She repeated in her mind, making a determined pose- throwing her fist up with a grin touching on either ear. I'll finally make a difference! Get ready-- Her expression shattered as she noticed an older couple staring at her with concerned looks. Wynter blinked rapidly before her cheeks flushed a bit from embarrassment. Fixing her pose to that of a normal person, even brushing her skirt off needlessly, she'd give a soft wave to the couple. Wynter would clear her throat and wander past them towards... well, frankly she had no idea what street was what- but it wasn't that complex here, at least. With it's three buildings, pretty much connected to one another... How is this called a town? Wynter would take some time walking around- admiring the little views, watching a few people wandering around... Some looked like they had places to be, others were just... there. It was fun to see, an easy reminder of home. Home... Wynter's eyes shifted to her shoulder bag- more specifically the Pokedex that was partially exposed. She swallowed hard, unclipping the side pouch before sliding the crimson case out of place.
✵What am I supposed to say?... Hey, sorry for running off like that!... Would they even answer? Would they care? Thoughts ran through Wynter's mind, making her gut twist and turn, it felt like somebody was taking shot at her over and over... and she just took every punch. Wynter let out a light whimper, walking slowly down the street as her eyes rested on the device. An adventure takes courage... you need to face them sooner or later, better to get it over with- and you can cry on your way to Santalune. Her eyes rolled with a heavy grunt, hanging her head a moment as her grip tightened. With a steady breath, she slipped the pokedex back in it's slot, taking off with an eager step as she hunted down the nearest phone she could find... Luckily it wasn't in anyone's house- Can you imagine? Calling home in somebody else's home? Hah!! Err... not that I'd break in. She paused at the phone, shaking her thoughts before taking a steady breath... Her hand moved to tap the screen a few times- dialing in. In a few moments, the display lit up, an older man with a mustache answered.
"Ah! Ms.Kyre! I have been waiting to hear from you!"The butler on the other side said, making Wynter smile weakly at the image"Johnathan... Are... are my parents there?"

"Well... Not exactly, Miss Kyre. Your parents are at a Galla in Snowpoint. Raising funds for... Well, I'm sure you're not interested in all that. But, they did tell me to gather you a gift. I even applied my own embellishments."Jonathan spoke quickly, more factually- but upon noticing Wynter looking more upset, he rushed the point of the gift.
"A gift?... Th-they want to help me?"Wynter simply responded, slouching a bit in posture- that was insulting... and bizarre.
"Ah. Well... They believe you're trying to rise the Kyre name by putting yourself among the Elite Four of Kalos. Best not to share with them the truth... B-but! Allow me to transfer your gift via your Pokedex, my dear!"The Butler still spoke quickly, trying to tear off the bandages quick and soothe them all at once... Of course upon mentioning the transfer, a panel opened for the Pokedex to be placed.
✵With a solemn nod, Wynter would slip her Pokedex out again, placing it on the panel- a screen popped up to show what was being transferred. Card information, yen, odd gifts... pokemon?! Wynter blinked rapidly, fixing her glasses as she skimmed over each Pokemon coming in- and their entries being placed in her Pokedex. A smile crept back to her face as she girl shuffled a bit in excitement. She was already building a team. Maybe even a dream team! That excitement was cut short though, as a notification popped up, showing she was getting a note along with it all-- Jonathan mentioning something about it being strange he didn't notice it. Wynter would place a pokeball in each needed slot- filling them with the transferred Pokemon... Unfortunately, she'd have to see them each later as she placed them in their holsters on the side of her bag.
"Thank you, Jonathan. I'll call you once I've reached Santalune City. Take care!"Wynter happily said, Jonathan saying his goodbyes before Wynter hung up the call and gathered herself- glancing at the message notification once before she decided to holster the Pokedex and start on the path to go North.

✵Wynter would continue her walk calmly along the road, her eyes moving to all the people... The Pokemon. Once again, she felt a bit overwhelmed as she made a sharp turn North, away from the crowds. Her pace would slow down as the conflicted Kyre slipped a hand into her backpack, drawing out.... a beaten up sketchpad. She opened three pages before halting where she was to examine the drawing. Her eyes would notably go over every detail on the page... it was a small bear-type Pokemon. Sitting on a rock, looking at at what looked like a ruined attempt at the aurora up north. Her eyes would fall to the barely legible signature, sighing calmly before she'd close the sketchbook again and slip it into her pack, only to feel her Pokedex vibrate.Wynter was hesitant to do it... but she pulled out the Dex anyway, slipping it open and pressing the message to expand the small letter on the screen.
✵Wynter read it slowly, a frown destroying her happy expression as she'd lower her shoulders again while reading. The Trainer shook her head calmly at the contents, closing it before she even bothered to read it all, then she'd slip it back in it's holster. The newly made Trainer continued walking North, pausing when she saw a Trainer encountering a Wilfd Pokemon... Wynter paused in view to watch the brief fight- whoever she was, she had skills and the idea of show-womansship. Wynter couldn't wait to train, to really see what her Pokemon could do and she could do with them... Alas, she would have to wait until she reached Santalune.
✵With that final thought, Wynter would gather herself and continue north up the path... The wild here had a beauty this place had... It wasn't at all like home, and that... that was a perk. A lot of places won't look like home, that's what makes this an adventure. Wynter's smile returned, fighting off her bad mood as she headed North... Time to see Kalos.

Du continued her search with a calm and rather cheerful demeanor that reflected the nice day that she was having. She tossed a lock of hair gently over her shoulder and continued to looked around for those adorable little pokemon that she needed to battle. Du hummed softly to herself as she pushed aside grass and pondered over various things that had no real relevance to what she was doing. Du took a moment and looked up at the sky while she straightened her back up and heard a series of pops run up her spin in the process. Oh dear, at least she was getting her exercise doing this.

Dumuzi was about to get lost in her own little world again when a Bunnelby bounded in front of the young woman and seemed to be very interested in taking this intrusive human down a peg. Unfortunately for this little pokemon Dumuzi knew just what to do about little pokemon who were unwilling to share their space with her.

Dumuzi gave a bit of a smile as she tossed out the first pokemon that she had technically started with, there was flash of red light and a Ralts formed itself into existence once again. ”Alright Titania, this should be a quick and easy fight, use confusion!” Titania gathered her psychic energies before unleashing them into a short but strong blast at the rabbit pokemon that had bounded in front of Du and started the fight. It was a short and sweet battle as Du had predicted as the strength of her pokemon had shone through once again.

Dumuzi continued to look for the wild pokemon that lived in the area around here, she was getting confident that she was getting strong enough to move on soon. There were still a few pokemon that she hadn’t quite introduced to battle yet, but she was sure that she would be able to get them into battle soon enough. Du pondered if she was going on too slowly and that her pokemon were being a little too coddled by her actions. After some thought, Du dismissed the idea and reminded herself that she refused to compare herself to other trainers who were starting off. She was going to do this at her own speed and her own way. If other people had a problem with that, then they were more than welcome to shove their complaints were the sun never cast a shadow. She wondered how Miss Valerie was doing and if the other girls were doing okay at the gym? She supposed that worrying about that sort of thing wasn’t going to do her any good so she gently brushed them aside. That didn’t stop her from once more mentally admiring Miss Valerie though.

Du liked to think that she and Miss Valerie had more in common than what was initially realized, there were differences of course: Miss Valerie wanted to become a pokemon and Du wanted to become a girl, but they both wanted to become something that they were not - something that they could never truly be. It was kind of silly in a way, but at the same time perhaps it was something that brought them closer together, that thing that set them apart from others but still connected them together. Miss Valerie was always kind to her and never saw her anything less than what she hoped to strive to become. It was heartwarming to her, and helped give her that push that she needed when days became painful and heavy. This camaraderie gave Du the resolve that she needed to chase her dream and push herself to become like her idol, in her own way. Du paused her thoughts when she heard a rustling in the bushes nearby and Du prepared to battle whatever was on the other side of the tall grass.

Aha! Du knew that she heard a pokemon nearby and pulled out her pokeball. She knew who she wanted to take for a rumble this time around. ”Alright Nemain, let’s do this!” There was a gentle flash of red before a violet coloured Mawile appeared with her little fist raised slightly and a look of determined amusement crossed her face. Mawile spun around and showed her giant maw to the little creature before giving off a bellow and few quick gnashing of its teeth.

Nemain was hatched from an egg that was given to one of Miss Valerie’s studies, they were given a batch of them and Du had helped to hatch the pokemon - who quickly became attached to the odd Fairy trainer in the making - and to make a long story short, Du had another mouth to feed. She got along swimmingly with the strong willed little pokemon. But now was not the time to reminisce, now was the time to take on the wild pokemon!
”Let’s make this quick, Nemain: Use fairy wind!” A gathering of an enchanted mist flowed and gathered around Nemain before she unleashed it in a glittery explosion. The little Scatterbug didn’t stand a chance! With whirling eyes it toppled over, giving into the sweet embrace of the fairy knock out!

It had been a long day and as the darkness started to fill the sky and bring out the stars, Du got out her sleeping bag and got comfortable on her back, Niamh was out of her pokeball and laying her head on Du’s chest as she got comfortable herself. Du gave Niamh a gentle smile and started to run her fingers through her silky fur to sooth the pokemon into a well deserved rest. It had been an exciting day for everyone and she was sure that they were going to need all the rest that they could get for tomorrow. Du pulled the lower part of her sleeping bag over her bare legs before snuggling into the fluffy embrace of her bag and turning her attention back to the sky and reflected on everything that had happened up until now. Dumuzi continued to run her fingers over her friends glossy fur despite the fact that the poor pokemon had already fallen asleep. Dumuzi wasn’t entirely sure how she had gotten to this point in her life but she decided that this was going to be the path that she would travel down. She wanted to understand Fairy type pokemon, just like her mentor and idol. Not because her idol could do it, but because Du genuinely wanted a bond with the pokemon herself. She wished she could understand pokemon in general but that was going to be an impossibility. To understand pokemon meant that you needed to understand body language, subtle tones and shifts in the expressions of pokemon that humans didn’t fully have. Maybe someday she could have a conversation with her friends and discover their hopes and dreams and get to know them on a much greater level. So far she really could only connect with her pokemon the same way every other human did. Du’s attention was drawn down when Niamh suddenly gave a squeaking little snort before rolling on her back and putting her paws in the air in the process. Du’s face brightened and she gently rested a hand on her pokemons tummy in a comforting manner before returning her gaze to the distant million stars. Maybe someday, she could open up to humans the way she was able to open up and trust with her pokemon, for now though, she was happy with just her pokemon.
