For a moment, Ace continued to observer the orb. "I can't say honestly that I do." He finally voiced, leaning back as his arms folded over his chest. A familiar feeling of greed started to bubble within Ace's mind. The jewel was certainly worth something, much like the two orbs he new held in his possession. The more he stood there, the more he wanted to simply take the orb from her. Though the streets were far to crowded and not far off Ace noticed a few people who appeared to be police. The last thing he needed was pesky 'good-doers' on his heels. Not tom mention without his proper team at his side, his confidence in winning a battle with Pokemon was low. He would just have to swallow the greed and move on. "There are a lot of stores around here. I believe I even saw some selling jewelry who might know." Stepping back, Ace turned halfway before halting once more. "Just be sure to keep your eyes forward... lest you bump into someone else and drop that." With that innocent sounding warning, Ace finished his turn and continued down the street. This momentary distraction cost him some time... he had to head back to Santalune now for that badge.

Julie had stared challengingly at Esben as she devoured her 'mac n cheesy', and at least once tried to surprise ninja shove a forkfull of the food into her friend's mouth. It wasn't exactly successful, and it certainly didn't help their childish squabbling, but it made it easier to stubbornly wolf down the rest of her food. The meal had her feeling quite full, and rather sleepy, and after groggily accepting all the adults offers and ushering toward a room the two kids could share, she trooped up under guided hands, crawled into bed, and fell asleep.
Chico sat stoically at the end of her bed, standing guard until he, too, started to nod off. Mareepa flopped onto her stomach next to Julie, who curled up into the wool of her pokemon, smiling and snuggling the warmth like a toy. The rest of her pokemon remained in their pokeballs, ever so slightly aware of their surroundings, but sleeping soundly through the night.
When Julie awoke, she saw Chico curled up at the foot of her bed, and found her flaafy now on its back, snorting loudly. She giggled, grinning and sitting up and stretching. She rubbed her eyes and yawned, before looking around for her friend. And spotting Esben on a nearby bed, still asleep, she grinned. She stood on her mattress, waking both her pokemon, though Mareepa yawned quietly and rolled over to go back to sleep. Bouncing a bit -- and earning a cautiously warning look from Chico, Julie suddenly launched herself off the bed, laughing as she flew through the air to promptly land on her friend's mattress instead-- and, unceremoniously, on her friend. "Esby! WAKE UP!" she cheered, laughing and giggling even as something bonked her head and the two tangled together with her landing. It kinda hurt but it was still pretty fun.

"Nuh-uh!" Esben retorted, face contorted in disgust as Julie continued to peddle the mac and cheese as ‘edible’. He wouldn’t be fooled; certainly not by someone who’d so much as mock the glory that was potatoes and stew. There was a moment of reprieve in the food superiority fight as the young man returned, though it ended in slight disappointment. Had they really looked for Julie’s brother? Their tracking skills were weak!
Not counting a fork full of cheese to the cheek, which hurt and earned Julie a spoonful of potatoes to the side of her head, Esben was able to finish his meal undisturbed. It’d been so long (since he’d left Elizabeth’s care to be precise) since he’d had a filling meal like that, and tiredness descended quickly. He didn’t fight the adults ushering him and his pokemon along to a spare bed. With Flef cuddled tightly in his arms and Teeg and the bears snuggled close, he slipped off.
The nine-year-old was in the middle of the most epic of dreams, leading the charge on a raid of a gigantic dragon pokemon den with his pokemon on his heels. His sister and cousin were with him, as were a few others of his clan, and even Julie was there, in the back somewhere flinging the dreaded mac and cheese mess at oncoming pokemon and taking them out immediately. Because that was all that stuff was good for. He was just about to give the yell for the final attack when-
"Esby! WAKE UP!"
What? No, that wasn’t what he wanted to say. Then the world of his dream trembled violently, everything jumping into the air as something collided with him. Esben snapped awake with a yelp while Flef, still tucked up at his gut, chirped excitedly. He didn’t know what was going on, but Julie seemed happy and that was enough for the fluff ball. Isi and Byr woke startled, panicking in their own ways while Teeg groggily came around.
"JULIE WHAT ARE YOU DOIN’?!" Esben shouted. How dare she ruin his crusade! His cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk in agitation, wiggling violently to untangle himself and shove her off. "I was about ta slay the big dragon! You were supposed ta stay in the back!"

Julie giggled uncontrollably as she and Esben wrestled. Or at least, that was her take on it-- he was probably trying to remove her from himself but she proceeded to grapple and growl and roll around in the bed. For his part, Chico chirped in concern and disapproval from Julie's bed, unwilling to join the mass of bodies on the other mattress. "Nuh uh Esby! I was s'posed to WAKE YOU! That's why I woke up first!" she proclaimed, before finally tumbling off the bed. It hurt a little and she gave a small "Owwwwww....." of complaint, but Chico was by her side in an instant, and she perked up. Inappropriately grabbing his leaf, she pulled herself up to her feet, earning a highly displeased and startled look from the pokemon.
"C'mon Esby!" she insisted, reaching up onto the bed to try and shove at her friend some more, "C'mon! Let's go get breakfast! Then we can look for my brother and stuff!" She hadn't forgotten Torin, and though her childish attention span and optimistic tendencies led her to not cry endlessly over it, she was still eager to find her brother.

Esben’s face went red in annoyance and his cheeks puffed to their fullest extent. "That’s DUMB!" He shouted, working even harder to shove her off. He was still terribly agitated that she’d woken him up (he was so ready to slay that dragon!), scowling once he’d wiggled free and she’d tumbled off the bed. He peered over the edge down at her, cheeks deflating as he simmered in his annoyance.
"I wake up when I wanna wake up!" And if he could have his way, he’d go right back to sleep. He looked back at Flef, still chirping excitedly, and scooped the fluff ball up. "Hush Flef." Gosh, Julie always had to make him so fussy!
Esben checked his bears and Teeg to assure they were alright after being so roughly awakened, swatting at Julie as she tried to probe him further. "Stop it!" He frowned, pausing a moment as a low rumble hit the pit of his stomach. Food did sound good right now.
"Okay, okay. Food then hunt for your brother again!" Esben stood up on the bed, raising Flef high above his head before leaping off the bed with a little shout. Byr and Isi squeaked in shock and Teeg’s head just tilted in confusion. What was going on? Fortunately, Esben planted his feet square on the ground; he was good at jumping off things! He helped the remainder of his pokemon off the bed, turning to Julie and sticking his tongue at her.
"Bet I’ll find food before you do!" He announced and snatching Flef up, launched into a run out of the room and down the hall of the pokemon center. Now, where would he find food in this place? He didn’t know. Ms. Elizabeth had always pulled things from a chilly metal box and cooked them in a hot metal box. He wasn’t sure about the hot box, but a cold box might bring him luck.
Or he could just do it the old fashion way and hunt something himself! It’d been a while and he didn’t want to get rusty! Now… where were the doors again? -
