The fight that would likely never end, was once again put on pause as Julie marched into the pokecenter and pointedly ignored Esben. He could say whatever he wanted about dragons, but she wasn't gonna believe him! Dragons were just another type-a pokemon! And not all types were the same! And some were even two types! And um... had weaknesses! And a bunch of other stuff that adult-types told her! Besides, pokemon didn't attack people, not really! And people could train pokemon! And if any pokemon in the pokecenter were dragons, they belonged to people, and so people wouldn't let them stomp and tear 'em apart. Esben was just being dumb.
Julie's focus was, thankfully, easily directed onto Nurse Joy, rather than Esben's dumbiness, and she peered up as the woman leaned over to address them. She nodded as Esben gave a very accurate description of Torin. "Uh huh! And he has yellow hair!" she chimed in, a bright smile crossing her face at the offer for help-- and food. "Yeah! His name is Torin! Tory for short!" she explained, perhaps unnecessarily. Nurse Joy smiled, and drew back some. "Torin? Do you know your last name?" she asked. "Um yeah it's... Parkson!" Julie grinned proudly. "I'll check if we had a Torin Parkson come in, then. Why don't you two go the cafeteria, I'll find you once I've looked, okay? Just that way, and you can get yourself some food at the counter," she instructed, leaning around to point down the hall.
"Okay! Thanks Miss Nurse!" Julie chirped, grabbing Esben's hand again. "C'mon Esby!" And with that, she was tugging him down the hall. Something smelled really good!

Esben looked between Julie and Nurse Joy as the girl provided further information on her missing brother. He shifted the sleeping Flef in his arms, stifling a yawn of his own as he peered around the pokemon center. It was very quiet; there were no signs of people or pokemon and no dragons. Good.
His head turned back to the pink-haired woman at the mention of food. Something to eat sounded like a great idea after all the trouble they had been through. Julie seemed to feel the same, immediately pulling him along down the hallway. "Hey! Stop it!" He begrudgingly followed along, freeing himself only once they reached the cafeteria area.
Esben sniffed, the scents of food wafting through the air and making his mouth water. There were no obvious tables stacked high with plates of food though. "Where’s tha’ eats?" He complained, trying to follow the scents with his nose. He had never seen a cafeteria before nor was he aware that the food was safely tucked away in steam tables just above his eye line. Was this a trick? Immediately he went for the nearest table, trying to scale the bench to get a better view. It had to be around here somewhere.

As per usual, Julie completely ignored Esben's demands. She ran along to the cafeteria, coming to a stop to look it over with round eyes. Her grip loosened enough that she didn't even notice Esben pulling free, and she bit her lower lip a little as she tried to figure out, not where the food was, but how to get it. Usually her parents or her brother would help her in a place like this, but none of them were there. She wandered over to the large glass-topped counter. She tried standing up on her tippy toes to see the food, but couldn't quite get her head high enough. She could, however, grab a tray, and grabbed at the top of the pile until she could wiggle one free, and pull it down. She blinked and looked over at Esben, when she finally noticed that he wasn't still beside her.
"Hey Esby! Aren't ya gonna get some food?" she called over to him, holding the tray to her body. She reached up to put it on the counter, and craned her neck to look up. "Excuse me!" she tried calling, keeping her voice raised, "Can I get some food?" She heard some movement, and then noticed a young man poke his head over, his expression turning to surprise when he saw her, before he smiled. He disappeared again, and she frowned, only to brighten up when he came around the side with a friendly expression. "Hey there. Want some help?" he offered. She nodded, and looked back over at Esben, swaying a bit where she stood. He looked over to follow her gaze, offering a smile to the little boy, as well.

Esben was standing on the bench of a nearby table, hand over his eyes as he scanned for the food source, his tuckered pokemon plopped at the ground just beneath him. "Well yeh! A soon as I find it!" He retorted with a huff. Obviously, they were meant to hunt it down! Else it would’ve already been set on plates for them to reach!
His attention shifted at the sound of a new voice, narrowing a gaze at the young man that appeared. Julie was holding a sheet of metal as well… was that shield? Where’d she find that? He hopped down wit ha thud, quickly skipping over to the two, still watching the young man with a look of judgment.
"Where’d you find that shield Julie?" The boy asked, pointing at the tray. He then turned and pointed at the man. "And where do we have ta hunt to find the food? I’m ready!" He announced, a fist pounding to his chest. His proud form shirked a bit though as the loud sound of rumbling rolled from the pits of his stomach. Yeah, he was hungry. So when did the hunt begin? "You should get a helmet Julie! It'd be better than that shield."

Julie had scrunched up her nose and prepared to call Esben stupid, and point out where the food was, but the young man had efficiently distracted her. Thankfully, his appearance seemed to attract Esben, too, though he seemed a little surprised at not only the boy's garb, but at his questions. "Hunt....?" the man murmured. He had light brown hair, a clean cut face, and features that threatened to make him look younger than he probably was. But as Julie looked up at him, all she could think, was that she really, really wanted him to hurry up and get her some food. She was hungry! She made a face at Esben when he distracted the guy, and waved the food tray in his face with both hands to blow wind at his face. "Sshhhhh Esben! He's gonna just get us food from the tray place!" She let go with one hand to point up above the counter.
The man glanced curiously between them and straightened up. "You don't have to hunt for food here," he added, giving a kind smile. Questions still hesitated behind his eyes, however. "Julie's right. I can just get you some from the counter. Do you want to see what we have?" As he made his offer, he grabbed another tray and set it on the counter, and extended a hand for Julie to offer him hers. She grinned, distracted from bothering Esben for the time being. "I do! I do! Do you have pudding?" she asked excitedly, extending her arms for him to pick her up. He reached down and did so, lifting her so she could peer at the food, and extended a hand to Esben to do the same, if he wanted.

"Yes! A hunt!" How did these people even survive? With no hunting, no fighting for survival, weak warriors and strange contraptions that wouldn’t withstand the fiery breath of even a baby dragon pokemon, it was a marvel that the lands weren’t in complete ruin!
"Ack!" Arms failing to defend himself against Julie’s tray flailing, Esben puffed his cheeks once more, stomping a boot. He was open to scold Julie for her foolishness on how the food was properly retrieved before the young man spoke up. "You… don’t?" Esben would never understand how there was an abundance of food just appearing without any work involved. His doubtful expression suggested as much.
Esben hesitated even as Julie was hoisted up, just watching as she stared bright-eyed at what he assumed was just a wall. What was pudding? That was something he’d never heard before. Instead, he mulled over the foods he knew by name. "I want stew! With lotsa meat!" He demanded, trying to stand on the tips of his toes to peer at the top of the steam table, actively ignoring the man’s offer. He didn’t need to be picked up! He knew what he wanted and if it was there, he’d get it! His attention shifted to Julie and the boy, squinting. "A big bowl! Warriors have to eat big to fight!"

Esben's insistence earned him only a couple of weird looks from those around him, including Julie and the young man helping them. The latter glanced to the side at the girl, but decided not to comment, and while Julie scrunched up her nose, she was way too hungry to start arguing with Esben yet again. And while he processed this lack of hunting or scavenging, they both moved on to at least pick Julie out some food. Once she'd pointed and exclaimed what she wanted, the young man set her down, noticing, but not commenting, on the fact that Esben neither accepted his help, nor really... could see what was on the counter. He raised his eyebrows at the young man at the demand for stew, piling on some pudding, mac n cheese, and, for the sake of his own conscious, veggies for Julie. Sliding the trey down, he grabbed another one for Esben.
While he looked thoughtfully over the options, Julie looked thoughtful. Warriors needed to eat big to fight...? "Hey mister, can we get foods for our pokemon?" she asked, tapping her chin and looking up at the young man. He looked briefly uncomfortable at being called 'mister', but put on a smile. "Of course, we can get that for you. Let's get you two settled in first, though. Then I can get you some food for your pokemon," he offered. He got Esben some beef stew, mashed potatoes, and green beans, and carried the two trays over to a table for them. "I'll be right back, alright?" he said, giving another friendly smile. Julie bobbed her head and beamed, hopping up on one side of the booth to start digging in. "Do you have any more pokies, Esby?" she asked, digging into some of her food. She paused briefly to stifle a yawn, but shook her head against the sleepiness to resume eating. She had to find out if they'd seen her brother, after all! And make sure her pokies got fed. She didn't notice the young man had left the cafeteria, but... he was probably just getting the pokemon food!

Esben side-eyed Julie as she requested food for their pokemon but said nothing. That was actually a pretty good idea; just like regular warriors, a warrior’s team needed to be fed as well! Least there was one thing he could support these people suggesting.
The young lad didn’t hesitate to take his seat at the table next to Julie, mouth-watering at the sight of the contents on the plate. The stew smelt divine and as if on cue, his stomach gave a low, rolling rumble like a passing thunderstorm. No really, when had been the last time he’d had a proper meal? He snatched up his spoon and immediately went for a spoonful of mashed potatoes, dumping it into the stew and then shoveling a glob of it into his mouth. It certainly wasn’t the village cook’s recipe, but it brought the warm feelings of home to his being, nonetheless.
"Mmmmm…. This isn’ too bad!" He grinned in glee, beginning to fish up another spoon of potatoes to dunk in his stew. Esben paused at the question though, shaking his head. "Nope! Those are all the pokies I have!" Chest puffed out, he flashed a smile of pride as though it was some kind of accomplishment. His pokemon didn’t respond nearly as excitedly, with just fitful of yawns and soft sleepy coos. He shoved the food into his mouth again, chewing happily, peering at Julie’s plate as he did. She had a lot of weird-looking things he’d never seen before and pointed thusly, mouth still half full as he spoke.
"Vhat’s phat stwuff?" He pointed at the macaroni and cheese, expression dubious. It was rather bright looking; it didn’t even seem like something you should eat in the first place. Esben swallowed, pointing back at his own tray. "You didn’ get any meat Julie! How are ya gonna get strong eaten yellow… stuff?!" He said, nearly poking at her food. Table manners, they clearly weren’t his thing.

Julie wasn't ignoring Esben, per se, but she was more preoccupied with her own 'not too bad' food. She loved mac n cheese, and this was super cheesy! Or creamy? It was tasty. Hell, maybe she was just hungry. Like Esben, it had sort of been a while since she ate. Maybe Torin had bought her some sort of snack or something at the fair thing, she wasn't sure, but it hadn't been enough! She was pretty sure she hadn't eaten for days the way her tummy was rumbling and tumbling and gnawing at her for food. Especially now that it was in front of her.
She managed to wolf a few bites down just waiting for Esben's response to her question, and chewed with chipmunk cheeks before swallowing heavily, and looking at him curiously. She didn't say anything, though-- instead, she just released Tria from her pokeball, which got a few looks from some trainers nearby, as well as her other pokemon. Thankfully, it was about then the young man returned to the cafeteria, though he didn't come right back over to the two kids. He looked a little troubled, though that change dto surprise when he noticed the rapidash afoot, and he moved to go grab the pokemon food. Again, unnoticed by Julie.
She was too busy kicking her feet happily and eating around her vegetables, until she noticed Esben throwing mashed potatoes in his soup, and paused to stare aghast. "Esben, what are you doing!" she exclaimed. She'd never seen anyone do that! It was so weird! Weren't you supposed to put the gravy on the potatoes? And it wasn't even gravy! It was soup! She blinked when he asked about her dish, like she was the weird one, and looked down to try and understand what he meant. "You mean.... my mac 'n cheesy? You've never had mac 'n cheesy?" She looked back up at him, flabbergasted. Her nose scrunched up, and she scooped up a pile of it on her fork, and shoved it in her face. "Here! It has.... stuff! It's healthy! Try it, Esby!" she demanded. Evidently, he wasn't the only one lacking in manners.

"Wu?" Esben, with another spoonful of potatoes and stew halfway in his mouth, paused at Julie’s exclamation. What? She had some nerve questioning how he ate his food given how bright and mush her own looked. "I’m eatin’!" He munched and swallowed, pointing at the yellow much on the plate once more.
"Mac’n… cheesy? Wha’s that?" It certainly wasn’t anything he’d heard about in his life, here or now. He made a disgusted face as she shoved it in his face, shoving a hand up as a barrier between the spoon. "Ain’ nothin’ healthy about somethin’ so… so… yellow!" The only thing that should’ve been that color was flowers! And a select few pokemon. But never food! Food should be brown (or off white) with hints of color.
Even bread.
Well… no, lemons were yellow. But they were a fruit! This mac’n cheesy was clearly not a fruit.
Esben shuffled away from Julie and her foreign food dishes, taking solace in the stew. His gaze shifted to his pokemon and then to the young man from before, finally returning to the cafeteria, eyes narrowing some at the rather hesitant way he went about. Was something wrong? He looked… worried. Maybe they didn’t have enough food for all the pokemon? Which was fine, he and his team could just go hunting! As convenient as this place and its food was, the young Viking didn’t want his team to lose their natural hunting senses.
"Do you think they’ll find yer brother?" Esben finally asked, looking back at Julie after a prolonged silence. Seeing the young man had reminded him of why they’d come her in the first place. Food was nice, but the mission was important!

Julie scrunched up her nose a bit at Esben's retort. Sure, sure, he was eating, but why was he eating like that. Before she could really harp on the matter, however, attention was brought to her own food, and after a brief moment of internal deliberation, she decided to just answer. Not that.... it seemed to mean much to Esben. The look on the little girl's face was one of out right offense as Esben denied her mac 'n cheese and dared to insult it.
"Is supposed to be this color, Esben! 'N it's tasty, too! Prolly a lot better 'n mashed 'tatoes and soup!" she defiantly retorted. She humphed and shoved the fork full of pasta into her own mouth, now grumpy again. She glanced over when Esben spoke up, and frowned, shoving him slightly as she wiggled in her seat to try and straighten up. "'Course they are!" she decided stubbornly. She glanced up in surprise as the young man approached with a smile and a cart of pokefood, which he handed out. "No updates on your brother yet, kiddo," he informed them, a sympathetic, lopsided smile on his face, "But why don't you two spend the night here? We can get you set up with a room."

The journey from Galar to Kalos was indeed a long one. After getting to the first transfer station, the male used a payphone to contact Royale about his whereabouts. Given his new orders, he was offered more privileges than previously. This came with some harder to find Pokeballs and the most needed item, cash. His final stretch to Kalos was in as much luxury as a train could offer. Regardless of his experience on the train, Ace wasn't in the best of moods upon arriving at the North Lumiose Station. A hotel was first on his agenda, with laundry service and a shower calling his name he made this priority A.
A quick websearch and the occasional chat with a easily swooned woman, Ace found his way to a 4-star hotel and procured a suite. For the day he rested in his room, even letting Pearl get some much needed rest. After his shower, the male rested down in a chair before he summoned the Diancie he'd obtained back in Galar. "To think some two-bit smugglers managed to snag a beautiful gem like you." Ace stated. Resting his elbow on the arm of the chair he rested his cheek to his fist, his other hand swirling a glass of whiskey. The Diancie gazed at Ace in return, remaining silent. "Not much of a talker?" Well he wasn't to concerned over having a mute legendary Pokemon on his team. Downing the remainder of his drink, the male stood up and snagged his Holocaster. After fumbling with the device a bit, it eventually made a ringing noise before the image of a man appeared. "Lord Ace." The man spoke, bowing before him. "Let his Majesty know I've arrived in Kalos, and shall get to work on my new mission promptly. Let him know I've also come into a Diancie." Ace replied. "I shall do as you order, mi'lord. Is there anything you would like for me to send you?" Lowering the Holocaster to the table, Ace rested back down in his chair, pouring some more Whiskey into his empty glass. "I'll need a new bag, something more fitting of my style. As well as my usual products." Ace paused for a moment to think over it a bit more. Thinking on it, asking for to much of his old life might be to much for the time being. "That will be all." The male quickly bowed once more. "I shall see that everything is gathered and delivered by the morning." With that the call ended.
His business settled, Ace expected his Majesty would likely contact him at a later date. The only downside of being away from the castle was his inability to easily contact the King at his leisure. He could only wait for his Majesty to call him. For the time being, he'd get some rest and begin his mission.
As expected, with the sun rising, a package was delivered to Ace's door along with his freshly laundered clothes. The new bag was a far better fit that his 'poor college student' bag, and with his usual beauty products the male felt like a new person after finally getting ready to check out. Pear still appeared a bit worn out, but she was at least able to keep up with everyone else. Returning the Diancie, he'd dubbed Diamond, to her ball he also kept Obsidian contained. "I'll have to procure gym badges in this region as I would have done back in Galar. First things first, the last known sighting of my target was near Santalune City, which happens to be where the first badge it as well." The male clicked his tongue at the thought of badge collecting. If he was caught utilizing his usual method of making strong Pokemon submit to him he'd only end up giving himself a headache with the repercussions. So badge collecting was a necessity for the time being. Regardless, his destination determined the male still needed a bit more information about this region, as Team Royale hadn't delegated someone here yet there wasn't much outside of mega-evolution that was known about Kalos. So a quick tour of the vast city, and a bit of high-class shopping couldn't hurt.

tab How long had they been walking the street? Tiny egg baby nestled between her arms so easily as they walked the winding streets of the luminescent city. One more bend and they came straight into the same area as the gym. A monstrous building, built specifically to house the electric gym, but also to provide a sight for travelers, both foreign and Kalos born. The blue eyes glittered as they lay upon the beauty of the white building. "Prism Tower... It's a beautiful sight eh?"
The girl turned reluctant eyes from Prism Tower, to the male next to her. She twitched her lips to the side, unsure if beautiful was the right way to describe what she saw. "That doesn't do it justice. It..." Her voice stopped, she wanted to give the building the best she could vocalize. But... She was still frightened. What if this was still a dream given to her by the two psychic pokemon in her pc? What if she wasn't actually here?
Shenaiya, don't think about that. You aren't there. You are here. This? This is real." The furry paw that laid upon her shoulder gave a small squeeze, attempting to give her a reassuring presence. "Right... It's like a symphony of light, composed by angels and sung by the light. It's not just beautiful. It's the most amazing thing i've ever seen." A chuckle from the man beside her caused a blush to expand across her ears and cheeks. Shoving him slightly, she buried her head into the top of the Togepi. "Of course you would describe it like that. You are such a music geek." He continued to chuckle. The brown hair swayed lightly in the breeze as he stepped towards the building. "I'm heading to challenge it. I'll meet you later? At the cafe on main?" Naiya nodded as he walked off.
She wasn't ready for the gym. Not by a long shot. But... She would need to try it soon... Some of her pokemon would eventually be too high a level for them... A sigh escaped her as she glanced to the pokemon around her. Kenichi, Xena, and Erza all smiled at her as they walked off in another direction. She needed to get some icecream. Maybe that would help?
She turned a corner, glad to be doing something more normal. Who knew, maybe even some shopping would do her good. A song swiftly came to her, a slow melody hummed as she walked. She felt more herself. It was quickly ended however as someone bumped into her. They shoved something into her fingers before running off. She froze, what the heck?! She started to anger, face turning red again as she slowly thought to chase after and give a piece of her mind... However, she realized something was in her fingers when Erza grabbed it from her. She momentarily forgot what she was doing as she looked down. The semi purple Togepi had placed something crystalline her her mouth. Or... Tried too? It seemed to be an orb of some sort. Pulling it from the Togepi, Naiya raised it to eye level.
The inside of the orb was stunning, a swirling mass of green and orange. The movement was slow and melodic, and after a moment she noticed there were shapes inside. "Music notes? What is this strange object? It's... beautiful..." The more she watched the moving notes, the more she felt like she could imitate the music it was seeming to play. She started walking, figuring she could figure it out over something to drink. But... With her mind obviously engrossed in the orb, she missed someone coming out of a building. She slammed right into the male, reeling backwards trying not to drop the seemingly precious orb. Kenichi stopped her from falling completely, bracing her against himself. She looked up. "Oh my Arceus I am so sorry!"

After a few shops, Ace seemed satisfied with his purchases. "This city has some understanding of fashion." He mentioned after leaving yet another clothing shop. "Lumiose appears to be an artisan city." He added. From what he'd seen thus far, the streets were riddled with various shops focusing on the arts. Perhaps it was simply the district in which he was exploring, but that was the impression he got. Coming near the end of a long line of stores, Ace slipped inside one last place to glance around the products being sold. he'd found himself in another clothing store, this one seemed to focus around athletic attire. Despite Ace's superficial appearance, he cared very much about the overall health of his body. Which meant getting sweaty with a work out. Having the money now, he grabbed a few items that he could wear while working out.
His final purchase made, Ace didn't anticipate finding himself in a collision upon exiting the building. Though, the girl who ran into him fell back slightly, Ace was hardly fazed. With a sharp glance, the male turned towards the young girl. "Watch where you are walking." He said with a sharp tone. Normally that would be the end of it, but then something the girl held caught Ace's gaze. The man was nothing if not hyper aware of jewels or precious minerals. "That..." It almost appeared to be a megastone, but given his lack of information on Kalos and Mega Evolution as a full he couldn't quite say if it was or not. Still, it's shine and appearance told him at the very least it wasn't costume jewelry.
