"Octave," Ashley’s tone suddenly commanded, "determine zee quickest route to zee next gym location." The screen of his X-transceiver flashed to life, a series of jumbled symbols and numbers flashing across is as calculations came into play. "Yes sir." Soon though the screen cleared to an overview of the region map, a red line outlining the quickest route to Cyllage City.
Ashley glanced to his wrist and frowned as he studied the device a moment. "That request took you approximately two minutes and forty-two seconds to complete, Octave." He quirked an eyebrow ever so slightly. "Is there a reason for such a delay?" There was a static silence for a moment from the device, which seemed to agitate the Frenchman just a bit. "No sir."
Ashley bore a look of disapproval at the response. The delay in response bothered him as well. It was quite possible though that the Porygon2 was still wincing from being blindsided in the early gym battle. Still, that was no excuse for poor performance.
"Hm." Was his only remark; instead of commenting any further, he instead focused on the route that had been planned out at his request. Apparently, and much to his dissatisfaction, the shortest route was through a cave system.
"Merveilleux." He grumbled with sarcastic enthusiasm, eyes rolling as he adjusted his clothing once more, yanking the case into hand and beginning to move once more. Well, the faster they got through it, the better he supposed.

Elizabeth had soon arrived at Camphrier Town, looking around at the cozy little town. She noticed the palace in the distance, definitely wanting to check that out later. But for right now, she just decided to explore the area for a little while. So she headed south, going through one of the exits to find a little forest area, spotting the river as well. It was then that Elizabeth noticed a pokemon that she had never seen before by the river; a blue somewhat sea lion with a frilly light blue collar around their neck, whiskers, a big pink nose, and little ear-flaps. Aw, that is so so cute!! But where did they come from though? She quietly was walking towards it, wanting to get a closer look before the pokemon ended up hearing her, looking over. The pokemon smiled, very happy to see someone as it came hopping over straight to her. "You're so cute. Where did you come from?" Elizabeth then asked the pokemon, surprised and giggling. The pokemon cheered from being called cute, thinking a bit before it shook its head, unable to answer. So she sighed, wondering if this is a new pokemon that has never been seen before and if it's from somewhere that has never been discovered before. "How would you like to hang out with me?" she now asked the pokemon as they nodded back eagerly, happy. "That's great. I'll call you Peony." she then said back to them before the pokemon cheered, clapping their two front flippers together in applause and glad with the name. Elizabeth was smiling as she gently threw a pokeball at the pokemon, watching it move three times before clicking, having caught them. Now she has another new pokemon, one that has likely never been seen before.

After having caught the new Pokemon, Elizabeth had gone over to the Pokemon Center and walked inside. She was debating whether she should take Peony out and put her on the team along with the others so that she can train them. At this rate, with all the pokemon that she has to train, she will never be able to get a second badge. She has to get stronger quickly and the more time she spends staying behind training all these newer pokemon, the more likely and faster her father will be able to find her. After all, Elizabeth does have plenty of stronger pokemon that she could use just for the gyms and once she is able to use the HM Fly, she can just go back to these weaker areas and train the rest of her pokemon. For right now since she doesn't have Fly though, she is like a sitting duck and won't be able to get away as fast if her father does suddenly show up to take her back. Okay, that is what she will be doing then, feeling bad about it but knew that she has to if she wants to get stronger and be less likely to get caught by her father.

So Elizabeth walked on over to the PC, depositing all of her pokemon and then thinking of which ones to take out. There is one that she would wait to take out when she actually gets to the next gym, ready to face the gym leader. For now she just took out Primrose, Padma, Ash, Clover, Camellia, and Cedar; putting them into her party. She wasn't planning on having Cedar stay in the party for the gym battle, just until they get there and she can take out the pokemon that she wants. After taking care of what she needed to do, then she left the Pokemon Center and was heading out of the town. Elizabeth looked over at the palace that was nearby, thinking that she will have to check it out if she comes back here again before walking out the exit towards her next destination.

Olivia gave a nod when Vince spoke of leaving his hair the way it was, but from the way he worded it he made it sound as if he'd be getting a haircut eventually. "You should tell me right before you do it," she suggested with a smile. "That way I can take before and after pictures." Moving on to a new topic Olivia only nodded when thanked for putting a stop to her suggesting they go out drinking more, he seemed serious about it and she'd respect that. "You didn't do anything too stupid," she reassured, reaching out to gently pat his shoulder. Eventually she shrugged, "it's fine if you don't end up remembering though."
The corner of her mouth twitched with a smile as Vince translated his newest pokemon's name, finding amusement in just how fitting it was for her. "That's a perfect name for her," she mused. "Lǎn Jùrén is also a pretty name." Olivia grew a bit... preoccupied from there on, when the Pichu on her shoulder decided to take matters into her own paws and capture herself. "I guess it did, and I'm flattered. Plus, I needed an electric type on my team," she agreed with Vince, though looked up when he called to her attention an item in his hand. "Oh, that?" Her eyes lit up with recognition as she looked down at the book in Vince's hands. "I remember you buying it at the fair last night, but they never really told us what it did," she explained.
Blue grew quiet, contemplative, as Xiu Feng explained her relationship and feelings towards Vince, still unable to truly grasp it; one thing he could agree with, however, was Vince being helpless without Xiu Feng. Though that was more humans in general, they didn't look like... the most reliable bunch. ("Huh... alright then.") Blue's ears perked up when asked if he would ever leave his mother, the very idea preposterous. ("No way! I mean, sometimes I go out by myself to explore, but I always come back,") he answered, and quickly at that. Why would he ever do that? After a moment he shook his head and snorted. At the very least, the question helped Blue to understand the way Xiu Feng felt about Vince.
Looking away from his mother when he heard Xiu Feng giggle, Blue couldn't help but to tip his head to the side in confusion. ("Huh? Cute?") Really? He'd only really been called that by his mother, and he couldn't exactly understand what Xiu Feng thought was so 'cute' about him. Eventually his tail began to wag, however, and he perked up a bit. ("Uh, thanks! You're cute too!") he remarked happily. Were they just randomly complimenting each other? He could get behind that!

Vince nodded in silent promise to let Olivia know before getting his hair cut. "Alright, but does that mean if I'm in Kalos and your off in another region across the world you'll come flying to me, just for those pictures?" He suggested, amused by the idea. He didn't feel really reassured when Olivia insisted that he hadn't done anything too stupid at the fair though. "Perhaps, but our perceptions of stupid and embarrassing are quite different." Vince mumbled, thinking back to the words he had mumbled to her unconsciously last night. Speaking of which, Olivia inquired about the name he had given his new haxorus, looking for a translation. She seemed amused with the answer, just as he was, suggesting that the name was perfect. "I'm glad you agree." Vince nodded. He wasn't the only one getting a new pokemon it seemed though, since Olivia's tagalong ended up capturing itself. "That works out well then." He nodded. Frankly he'd rather her have a pichu than a mareep or it's joke of a final evolution.
As he put Lǎn Jùrén's ball away though, he noticed a new object in his bag, a book which he pulled out and asked Olivia about. Apparently he had bought it, but they hadn't gotten an explanation for what it was. "Hm...." He was a bit disappointed, but nonetheless interested in the book. Opening it up and skimming a few pages, he saw several different dragon type pokemom, and landed on a dragalge. "It seems like it might be some kind of book of dragon pokemon. Look, here's a page on dragalge. It looks almost like a pokede--" Vince was cut off as he pointed to the page and spoke the name of the dragon on it, and suddenly the book began to shimmer. After a flash of light, a dragalge appeared in front of him. Vince could only stare, wondering if Hai Lan had released herself from her pokeball, but the way this dragalage was glaring at him, he doubted it. "What....." He said with disbelief.
Xiu Feng was glad to have helped Blue understand a bit more what her relationship and loyalty to Vince was like, finding his attachment to his adopted mother quite cute and commenting as such. Blue seemed a bit confused but complimented her back, which made Xiu feel a bit embarrassed, but her tail wagged happily nonetheless. Before she could reply though, Vince somehow managed to summon a wild dragalge from the strange book he'd gotten from the faire. ("Vince!") She barked, seeing that Vince was too stunned to notice that the dragalge was moving to attack him with one of it's tendrils. Vince blinked, snapping out of his trance and backing up, squatting down so that Xiu Feng could run up his back and jump to intercept the kelp like appendage and give it a good bite. The two seemed to work in perfect unison, and though Xiu Fang took some damage, one more attack and the dragalge went down. "Could this really be.... A real dragalge...?" Vince wondered aloud. There was one way to find out though, and Vince tossed a pokeball at the dragalge to see if it would be captured, and sure enough, it appeared to be. Eyes glinting, Vince approached the pokeball to release the dragalage and check if it was still there. Much to his surprise, it was. He didn't really need another one though, so it was returned and sent to his PC to be traded away.

Pursing her lips Olivia entertained the idea before she broke out into a grin, "of course. I won't ever miss the chance, just give me a day's warning then so that I can make the proper plans to arrive in time," she joked, chuckling all the while. Vince made another good point when, moving onto the topic of their drunken antics at the fair, he pointed out that the two had two different opinions on what was stupid and embarrassing, and with that being said... Vince probably did quite a few embarrassing things the night before, in his eyes at least. "Well hey, there were some good times in between all that other stuff," she spoke out, not exactly agreeing with him-- but her tone of voice might lead him to believe that Vince had indeed done a few things to embarrass himself. Olivia was still in a good mood--as she often tended to be--after introducing, in her mind, a great pokemon and trainer duo, and her mood only soared after Vince explained what Haxorus' name meant. Speaking of names, she'd need to think of a name for her new addition; since nothing immediately came to mind she'd have to turn to a herbal book, eventually.
Olivia leaned over to peer down at the book with Vince, rather impressed at the information it gave and the details of each pokemon. "Well, hey. It's the perfect gift for you," she started to remark, only to stop and shielded her eyes from the flash of light that erupting from the book. When she brought her hand down Olivia found herself staring at a Dragalge, a pokemon that certainly hadn't been there before. "Uh... Vince?" she looked to him, hoping to get an answer. But when she didn't get one she turned back to the dragon-type, eyes narrowing when she saw that it was glaring in Vince's direction. Immediately she took a step in front of her companion, throwing a hand out in a show of protectiveness.
Though unsure of... just where the Dragalge had come from, Olivia knew that it certainly wasn't friendly. For all her bravery, however, it was proven that it wasn't needed as Xiu Feng soon took over, tackling the pokemon and biting down onto it. Olivia blinked, watching the two battle, but quickly stepped back to get out of the way. Not a minute later and she felt her XTransceiver begin to ring, and with a quick glance down Olivia saw that it was Sydney. The pinkette cursed underneath her breath, this wasn't a call she could just ignore, before she looked back over to Vince. It seemed... he had a handle on things, Xiu Feng had already taken out the Dragalge, and he'd captured it in a moment of incredulous curiosity; he'd be fine. "Vince, I'll be right back," Olivia called out, making sure he heard her, before she stepped away to accept the call.

Vince quickly dug out a potion to heal Xiu Feng. "Thank you Xiu Feng, are you alright....?" He asked, spraying the point of impact on her side. She grumbled in affirmation, taking the spray even though it stung a bit. Looking up as Olivia called to him and insisted she would be right back, it seemed like she was getting a call from her xtransciever. "Oh, alright." He nodded, but this all felt like some weird dream. It took a while for the reality to sink in, but in the end, Vince was grinning like a child. "This book... I could summon any dragon from it. Heh...." Vince couldn't help but laugh. It was amazing, almost unbelievable even though he'd seen and tested it with his own eyes. Eager to get a dragon he actually wanted this time, he flipped quickly through the pages until he found a garchomp. He pointed to the picture, but nothing happened, and Vince frowned. Guess he spoke too soon. What else had he done to get that dragalge? He was talking about it, pointed to it, and said the name. "Garchomp." Vince said clearly, pointing to the book again, and in a flash of light, the ground dragon appeared, growling and rearing it's scythe like fins. It looked abit darker in color than the navy hues in the book, but Vince didn't have a lot of time to really think much of the odd coloration before the beast was charging at him. This time however, he was ready, tucking the book away in his bag and clashing sword with fin against the garchomp. "Xiu Feng, disarming voice!" Vince commanded, and the lupup gave a growl, letting loose a bark that knocked out the garchomp in one hit.
Heaving a relieved sigh, Vince approached the garchomp as it glared up at him and grumbled, defeated and clearly not happy about it. "If you want to beat us, you'll have to get stronger. Come with me." Vince insisted, pulling out a pokeball to capture the garchomp before letting it out again. "Jiān Kun, I've been saving this for you." He offered the newly tamed garchomp it's megastone and a few heart scales. it would still require training to put those items to good use, but for now, the garchomp needed rest, so Vince returned him to his pokeball.

Olivia waited until she was out of earshot, then walked a little farther, before she accepted the call and lifted her XTransceiver to eye level. "You kinda picked a bad time to call, Syd," the pinkette started in immediately, not giving the brunette on the other line a chance to speak. "Really? Well, I'm sorry. This'll be quick," Sydney apologized, reaching a hand out to pat down at her hair nervously. "I saw that you called earlier, and I'm sorry I didn't answer. I've just been a bit... swamped," she explained, earning a raised brow from Olivia. "Is something happening back there?" The other woman shook her head, "no! Well, yes. But it's nothing serious, I promise. I do need your help though. You remember that incense I gave you a while back? I'd like for you to open it, and collect a few of the pokemon that are attracted to it." Olivia frowned gently, this... didn't sound remotely related to her current mission.
"I thought you wanted me to keep an eye out for Team Flare," she remarked, slowly, not upset but rather confused. "Yeah, and you still are! But it's been rather quiet lately, and we really need someone to go ahead to catch these pokemon," Sydney spoke, her fingers running and practically tearing through her hair. "I'll even send over an assistant to help you, so it'll go over faster." Olivia gave a soft sigh, but after tossing another look back to Vince she eventually turned back around and nodded. "Alright, alright. Just don't... tear your hair out, please, Syd. I'll do it." Immediately after the brunette broke out into a wide smile, "oh whew, that's a relief," she breathed, then took on a sheepish expression. "I've sorta... already sent the assistant out, in fact they should be arriving now."
Olivia paused, that news certainly taking her by surprise, before she made a face. "Already.. Syd, what if I had said no?" Before she could answer the pinkette winced as she hit with a headache from out of nowhere. "She predicted that the probability of you accepting was high, and so she took the risk," a monotone voice answered from behind Olivia. Cradling the side of her head the woman turned around to stare at a black and purple Elgyem, who looked back at her with a blank gaze; immediately Olivia's headache subsided. From the XTransceiver Sydney chuckled nervously, "uhm, and there she is! I hope you two get along! Call me when you finish, okay bye~" And just like that the call ended, and Olivia was left with her... "assistant".
"Let us begin, we shouldn't waste time," Elgyem spoke, then lifting one hand managed to telepathically lift Olivia's incense from her bag. It plopped gently into the psychic's hands, and a moment later the top was lifted off and it was lit. A crisp, clean smell wafted from the incense, one that reminded Olivia of fresh snow, and a moment later a pokemon appeared, as if by magic, from out of the alley. Elgyem looked on, indifferent, before pointing out. "Catch that one," she instructed.

That had gone a lot better than Vince had expected, but he wasn't finished yet. What other dragons could he seek out from this book? There weren't really any others he could think of off the top of his head, and browsing through the book, he found that most of the ones it contained, he already had some form of, or he didn't want, like an altaria or a goomy. Growing irritated, he flipped to the very back of the book, and found a page on a dragon he'd never seen before. The book described it as humble with the pride of a warrior, something that caught Vince's attention immediately. "Jangmo-o....?" He murmured, reading the name of the pokemon with fascination without realizing what he was doing until it was too late. The book flashed, and the little scaled pokemon stood before him, crouching in a defensive position as it took in it's surroundings and smacked it's tail against the scales at it's sides. The scales rang out like a warning, but then it darted away towards Connecting Cave. "Wait!" Now that Vince had summoned it here, he didn't want to lose it, but Olivia was still dealing with her call. "....Gah, come on Xiu Feng." After a bit of hesitation, Vince ran after the jangmo-o into the cave beyond while texting Olivia about what had happened and where he was.

Pichu shook off the ice that still clung to her body after the battle, a bit cold but still proud enough for her effort-- and in her first battle too! She'd just... reacted! A pokemon had appeared and she'd smacked it with her tail, it was so cool! While Pichu was awing over her first battle Elgyem was quickly moving ahead, levitating the pokeball and, with a sharp sweep, had it disappear. "Capture this next pokemon too," she directed, earning a confused look from Olivia, and a moment later a Vanillite bobbed into the air. Before Olivia could react Pichu was on it once more, this time taking advantage and moving fast enough to get in the first attack.

Another pokemon down, it seemed that for right now Iron Tail was Pichu's best bet, and when there was a pause Olivia dropped down to spray Pichu down with a potion. As confused, and annoyed, as she was by this she wouldn't allow her pokemon to suffer from wounds because of that. Elgyem didn't seem to care too much, simply swiping up the pokeball and causing it to disappear once more. "Where are you sending those pokemon?" Olivia asked hesitantly, straightening up after healing Pichu. "To your PC, I've been given access to it," she answered simply, then cocked her head to the side. "Capture this Cubchoo," she commanded, swiveling around to face the incoming bear cub.

Olivia tossed out a pokeball once the Vanillite had fainted, then waited until the capture device had grown still before she looked down at her XTransceiver; she'd felt it vibrate a bit earlier with a text, but had been too busy up until now to check it. She gave a 'huh' when she saw that it was from Vince, explaining that he'd gone ahead to Connecting Cave to chase after a pokemon. "We should, uh, probably get going then," Olivia murmured as she started out a reply to him. "Capture this pokemon first, then you can continue," Elgyem directed, pointing out to a giant snowflake pokemon that had already been defeated by the overzealous Pichu. "Ah, right." With an underhanded toss Olivia threw out a pokeball, capturing the pokemon, and once Elgyem whisked it away to her PC she started off in the direction of the caves, making sure her pokemon were with her beforehand.

Olivia couldn't help but to grin when Vince admitted to missing her, though at the same time she found herself surprised that he'd even say as much. Stepping in to join him by his side she began walking with Vince out of the cave, passing the time by listening to him retell his adventures involving his book, and the occasional check-in with her pokemon to make sure they didn't wander too far, or need any healing. Olivia couldn't help but muse at how excited Vince became just describing his book, it reminded her of a kid showing off their new toy oddly enough, and at one point the pinkette found herself laughing softly. "I'll have to keep an eye out for one," she spoke absently. "You seem to have really liked it." The way Vince talked about it, now she really did wish she'd been there to see it; or at least the first half, as, continuing on, Vince revealed that things hadn't continued to be so pleasant.
"Oh... huh." Olivia was at a loss for words, though from her frown it was clear that she found the news displeasing. "At least you know now," she pointed out, doing her best to urge Vince to look to the more positive result of the situation. "You know that now that you'll need to discipline that pokemon differently from the rest." She had half a mind to start up her own research on the pokemon, just hearing about its behavior was alarming enough to warrant vested interest, but if Vince didn't even know she doubted she'd have much luck in that department. "At least there was a happy ending," she murmured afterwards, gently nudging Vince. Olivia inhaled slowly, giving herself a moment, before she looked ahead at the approaching city. "So, now that we have our badges, is it off to Hoenn?" she inquired, trying to switch to a more... lighter conversation while also reaffirming their plans.

It had been really surprising, pleasantly so, or at least until his ghoizard intervened. When he explained that half of the story, Olivia seemed just as concerned as he was. She did point out that at least he knew now. "True." Vince agreed, though he still wasn't all that pleased. "I don't know about differently... I'll just need to keep it on a tighter leash, so to speak. I'm fairly strict when it comes to discipline already. If I'd known that it was so.... Cruel, I would have never let it run off." There was a happy ending though, the jangmo-o were healed and being shipped back to Alola, with the exception of the one he'd caught. Speaking of which. Some small group of islands out a distance from Kanto..." If they had pokemon like jangmo-o and drampa, it might be worth looking into. As they exited into Camphrier Town, Olivia asked if they were heading to Hoenn next now that they had their badges. "Mm... That was our plan I believe. Maybe we should go visit Alola after Hoenn?" He suggested. A visit to a tropical island couldn't hurt after all.
