While Licorice went about thinning out the herd of Smoochum Blue and Pichu stood back and watched, impressed; Blue especially. Licorice exhaled out before she came tumbling back to the other two pokemon, 'tagging' Blue in by ruffling the top of his head again, much to his enjoyment. With a yip and a bark of the tail he charged forward, more than happy to take out a few more Smoochum, especially after his mother's display. There certainly were a lot of them though, if they didn't thin out soon there was a possibility that there might be a bit of congestion throughout the cave.

Blue did his best to copy Licorice's movement, and after taking out one pokemon he clung to the edge of the wall to try and stalk towards his next opponent. His dark colored fur certainly did help him blend in, but when it came to the execution of the attack he just didn't have the agility, or body frame, capable for such fluidity. Instead the young pup settled for running at the nearest Smoochum, butting it in the stomach with his head before he turned around to whack it with his tail.

A bit disappointed in his inability to pull off the same technique as his mother, Blue gave a half-hearted attack to one last Smoochum. He lifted his head up afterwards, surprise lighting his eyes when he realized that that had been the last of the Smoochum; and here he'd thought they would've been endless! Pleased with that small accomplishment Blue was able to hold his head up high as he trotted back over to Licorice, tail wagging slightly.

Looking away from the family bonding moment Pichu took a few steps forward, peered down at the waning fire, then took a few more steps out into the cave. The incense was almost out, but the fresh scent it exuded, now faint, was still wafting into the air; pokemon could still be attracted to it! Pichu's assumption proved to be more than just a hopeful thought as a small group of Spheal came rolling into view, Licorice appearing behind Pichu mere seconds later. She was more than happy to take these few on.

Since Licorice's latest attacks involved more sound and light, it was easier to track it. She moved from Spheal to Spheal, electricity left crackling in the air after each attack. Pichu twitched her ear at this, her own cheeks sparking gently, but she kept herself calm and left the battling to Licorice. It was obvious that she was more than capable of handling herself.

The group of Spheal, which had started off with low numbers, only grew smaller the longer Licorice continued battling, the few Clap Pokémon she hadn't gotten to yet quickly rolling away in the opposite direction of her. Licorice, fully aware of the retreating pokemon, wasn't bothered by this in the slightest and instead focused on the Spheal too slow to get away in time, treating them with a jab of electricity to help them on their way.

Though he had been surprised from underestimating the drampa, Vince was glad he'd caught it now. Opening the book again, Vince glanced through the pages, but stopped as he saw a page that he hadn't seen before. He'd probably flipped through the book ten times by now, but he didn't remember seeing this page on an ice dragon. "A.... Kyurem....? No way...." Vince breathed. That was a legendary dragon from the Unova region, could this book really--? As soon as he had said it though, the book glowed brightly and disappeared, in it's place, a pokeball. That was different... Vince tensed as he felt a tap on his right shoulder, glancing over before hearing Olivia on his left. He chuckled and turned to face her. "Yes." Vince admitted, storing the pokeball away in his bag for now. He would have to check it out later.
Vince nodded as Olivia reminded him of his promise. "Yes... Ah, where to even start... That book I had, it was amazing, I wish you could have seen it. It was full of different dragons, and all I had to do was point to one and say it's name, and it would appear. They were real Liv! I even captured a few." Vince grinned. "But, there was one called a jangmo-o, and before I could battle and capture it, it ran into this cave, that's about when I first texted you." Vince explained.

The story didn't end there though, it just went into a downward spiral. "Well.... I don't know if you remember the strange pokemon that found me at the fair, the ghostly snake like pokemon? It came out of it's pokeball and found the jangmo-o first...." Vince suddenly looked very troubled. "I.... I don't know what it did. I just found the jangmo-o laying on the ground, looking drained and beaten, and before I could scold that ghoizard, it ran off to find others. I had to take three of those pokemon to the center as quickly as I could, and it's possible there might be more around here...." Vince admitted, sadly. "I hate that I let that ghoizard do that to them, but I didn't know any better.... This pokemon has some draconic influence, but it's not like any dragon I've known. Dragons are proud creatures, wise and strong, but they usually aren't ruthless and cruel like this one." Vince sighed. The ghoizard seemed familiar to him somehow, he wanted to ask his family about it, but he hadn't had the chance. "After I had them all taken care of at the center, I met you at the gym. One of them is resting with me now." With that, Vince's story had pretty much come full circle, just in time too, as they reached the end of the tunnel and made their way to Camphrier Town.

Mel explained everything that had happened while Brian was essentially babysitting her pokemon, all the way from running into Lafayette, to coming back to change, to going to the aquarium, to being pushed in by her starter. Brian seemed to have mixed feelings on the whole thing. Clearly, he was pretty amused by Mel and Lucy’s shenanigans, but he seemed uncertain about Lafayette. Not necessarily in a protective way, because he knew that Mel could kick pretty much anyone’s a** if she needed to, but more in a…. “Forcing random strangers into going to a fancy party with you and then isolating yourself with them away from the party isn’t really a good life choice”, kind of way. It seemed she was lucky, this ‘Lala’ guy was a decent enough fellow, but… sometimes Mel’s decision making skills worried him.

Well sort of an idiot. He just wasn’t always the brightest bulb, and he knew it. It was why it was weird when he knew more about something than Mel did, because he always considered her smarter than himself. She still had her… moments, however. It was more recklessness than stupidity, though. He worried about her more than she worried about him, he was pretty sure, and while he wasn’t neurotic about it, or even preoccupied by it, it was still a pattern that lasted pretty much the entirety of their friendship. Which was virtually their whole lives. Mel was like a sister to him… One he actually got along with.

Shaking off the thoughts, Brian brought up another topic—their current goal. ”So, do you have a strategy for Korrina?” he asked, shoving his hands into the pockets of his hoodie jacket. Mel paused a bit, realizing that was the name she’d forgotten earlier, then pulled out her pokedex. ”Not… specifically. She uses fighting types, right? So… Blue’s Bounce should be pretty effective against that… and if I can get Exeggcute to learn a psychic move, that would help too…” she mused. ”Exeggcute’s not that strong, though,” Brian pointed out, shrugging his shoulders some, ”It’s probably a lot weaker than your other pokemon. Maybe you should have Lucy or one of the weaker ones test it, and if it needs it, train it on the way?” Mel gave him a look as they neared the exit. ”’Test it’?” she repeated, ”What the hell d’you suggest? Have them battle? That seems a bit brutal, don’t you think?” Having her own pokemon fight… that just seemed… strange.
