Raking his claws at Mankey Charizard used scratch to try to weaken his Pokemon. Lifting up a large boulder Mankey threw it at the dragon Pokemon showing off his strength.

This Pokemon tries to immobilize it before delivering the finishing blow. If the foe turns out to be too strong, Octillery spews ink to escape." A final focus blast knocked it back so hard there were pops as her suction cups came off and she fainted.

Lance of course laughed at his sister as Simon healed Mankey up. "You both battled well but like I told Lance I was training in here with Mankey all day." Lance stopped ribbing her and nodded, Lucy perked up a little as well returning her fainted friend and taking a deep breath. "Well good luck, we're going to heal up our team now." With that the twins left leaving Simon and Mankey standing there. "Let's find somewhere with stronger Pokemon,"Simon said before returning Mankey. There were two choices, Reflection Cave, where he was still stronger or Victory Road where the Pokemon really out leveled Mankey. He'd have to share the experience gained but it might be just what he needed. With that Noivern came out and they flew off to Victory Road.

Arriving outside the cave Simon saw that Helioptile evolved with help from the Sun Stone. The question was always when to evolve a stone Pokemon. With the Eevee it was always best to evolve them early on so that they could learn their type moves. Eevee wouldn't be able to learn the fire moves of Flareon. Some Pokemon though stop learning moves when evolved like any of the Pans, like Pansage. When stone evolved into Simisage the second form is tougher but doesn't learn anymore moves. Once he caught a Helioptile he'd be able to see when it learns what moves and go from there. Right before entering the cave he was stopped by a trainer. "When two trainer's eyes meet we have to battle.""Do we? I mean you saw me but I didn't see you until you spoke to me and then it's just rude not to look at you.""Uh, yes it's in the rulebook somewhere, or I learned it at trainer school." Simon smiled and nodded, "Three on three?""You only have three?""Well my other three Pokemon are at level one hundred." Nodding at Psyduck disabling the stronger electric move but enough damage went through that a thunder shock took it out. Returning Mareep Simon sent out Stunky for the first time. Blaine sent out Zweilous, the two headed dragon Pokemon. Stunky hadn't made her debut yet because she was the strongest of the three Pokemon he was training up. Lifting her claws she rushed and slashed at the two headed dragon Pokemon. Shaking it off both heads snapped, biting her. Slashing at them again they started to tighten their focus to prepare for a critical hit. However one more slash was all it took as the foe fainted.

The last Pokemon was another mid stage starter this time it was from Sinnoh. "Monferno the playful Pokemon. It skillfully controls the intensity of fire on its tail to keep its foes at an ideal distance. Its fiery tail is but one weapon." Jumping back and forth Simon decided to keep Stunky out so she can get a little more experience. Readying for an attack they were both surprised as Monferno made a fist and rocketed towards her knocking her back with a mach punch even though she was a higher level. Slashing at him she was once again startled by another mach punch. Then when Monferno started to surround himself with fire she struck one last time, defeating him and winning the match.

Entering the Glittering Cave Simon hurried down the first pathway, heading straight then left and left again he found himself at a dead end. Sighing he doubled back taking the other path. Continuing down the original path he didn't take any other turns and found another dead end. Chuckling at his bad luck he was glad at least to see the glowing moss that gave off a green light. It was pleasant in here. Finally he made himself into a large room where mining equipment was. One of the miners tossing a gem into a rail cart and looked up at Simon, smiling. "Hey I could go for a break, mind battling me?" he asked. Simon nodded his head, "I have three Pokemon I can battle with, then a few in reserve if I do lose to help me get back to the Pokecenter." It was easier saying this than explaining how strong his other Pokemon were. The miner, Mike, nodded, "Makes a lot of sense, three is fine with me, I actually only have five on me."Sending out Mareep he faced down the first of Mike's Pokemon, "Seel the sea lion Pokemon. Covered with light blue fur, its hide is thick and tough. It is active in the bitter cold of -40 degrees Fahrenheit. It lives on icebergs. It swims in the sea using the point on its head to break up ice."

The last Pokemon Mike had was indeed a rare treat as it was one of the legendary Pokemon that looked like a horse. "Keldeo the colt Pokemon. When it is resolute, its body fills with power and it becomes swifter. Its jumps are then too fast to follow." Whoa that was a great Pokemon to be battling against. Understanding that it was going to be a rough battle Simon first healed up as Keldeo charged and tackled Flaaffy so hard that Simon had to use a second super potion. Instead of launching into the electric attack he allowed Flaaffy to use his newest move, charge. Not only did it boost special defense but make his next electric attack even more potent. Barely holding on against another attack from Keldeo, a double kick, he unleashed the powerful thunderbolt taking out the legendary Pokemon with gusto.

Mike was unhappy he lost but had gotten close with Keldeo, Simon admitted that he had to use his only two super potions to beat it. Nodding Mike shook hands with Simon before taking his leave with Keldeo safe in his ball. Kneeling by Flaaffy Simon quickly used normal potions to heal him up. "You did great Flaaffy,"he said. "Aaf,"he said softly knowing he did well enough to win but took a good amount of damage and wanted to rest. "And you will, I figure we'd meet mostly ground or rock Pokemon which you're weak against, so I'll put you away for now okay?""Flaa," he said thankful as Simon returned him. Putting the ball on his belt he started to search for the other electric Pokemon he was after only to be attacked by a wild Cubone. Honestly both Aron and Stunky weren't great against ground types but Aron was super ineffective so Simon sent out Stunky for this battle.

Barely getting a moment to heal Stunky up there was a rumbling as a wild Onix burst through the wall. The Pokemon did not look happy at all as it raged towards Stunky knocking her away from Simon. Shaking it off she slashed at the rock Pokemon, boosting for another rage attack this time Stunky wasn't caught off guard and another slash caused the rock snake to crash into the ground. Moving forward and poking it with her tail she wanted to make sure that the Pokemon was out cold. It was whooshed away the second time she poked it. Coming back over to him Stunky let herself be healed up before Simon returned her and continued his search for the electric Pokemon he wanted.

When it came down to training Pokemon in this area were good as long as you had Pokemon able to handle the ground and rock Pokemon. Maybe some water or grass Pokemon that you were training up. Even though this was a cave Simon still wanted Flaaffy to get more experience. Returning Stunky after thanking her he sent out Flaaffy who yawned. "Are you ready to train some more?" Simon asked and this caused Flaaffy to jump up kicking his legs in the air before landing. The orb on his tail flashed yellow then returned to blue Simon hadn't noticed that happened maybe it turned other colors when upset. "Cccchhho!" came the sound from the wall as a wild Machop smashed through the wall. Flaaffy looked over at the smaller framed fighter. "Ma?" Flaaffy bounced in excitement as Simon smiled, "Let me guess you two want to battle?" Both Pokemon dashed to either side of the tunnel while Simon walked over to behind Flaaffy.

The Machop managed a sweeping kick that knocked Flaaffy back onto his rear. Shaking it off he drew in electricity charging up. It was a decent combo though as long as he could take that first strike. Then the powerful Thunderbolt was doubled when the electric strike hit Machop knocking the fighter out. Flaaffy danced around a bit as Simon motioned him over and healed him up. There was an odd cry in the air that echoed as a different bat Pokemon flew towards them. Scanning it they learned it was, "Woobat the bat Pokemon. Its habitat is dark forests and caves. It emits ultrasonic waves from its nose to learn about its surroundings. The heart-shaped mark left on a body after a Woobat has been attached to it is said to bring good fortune." Normally Simon expected Zubat to be living in caves or even Noibat or at least something more bat like. Woobat seemed to be a fuzz ball of blue fur. It peaked his interest though. "Flaaffy you can take this guy out easily enough but I want to catch it as well.""Aaff!"

Going through the cave was good and all but catching Woobat reminded him why he came to this area to begin with and as luck would have it Flaaffy remembered as well since he was pulling something out of the dirt that Machop had left behind coming through a wall. Bringing it to him Simon saw it was a black flute. "Thank you Flaaffy,"he said as he thought of the other electric Pokemon while he started to play the black flute. As the flute crumbled in his hands he felt a small shock to his read causing him to yelp and turn seeing the Helioptile appear. Scanning it Simon learned more information about the electric Kalos Pokemon. "Helioptile the generator Pokemon. The frills on either side of its head have cells that generate electricity when exposed to sunlight. They make their home in deserts. They can generate their energy from basking in the sun, so eating food is not a requirement."Nodding at Flaaffy to attack the battle began.
