Taking off her shoes and heading out to the sand, Ajicka let her feet carry her into the water. Not far, just so that it lapped at her ankles. She was almost tempted to swim, but she didn't want to take that much time, much as she knew that would definitely help clear her mind. Instead, she thought of something else, and looked back to check on her pokemon. She couldn't even see them. Pausing, she tossed up another pokeball, releasing Swampert, who immediately launched herself at her very much unprepared trainer.

"Ah! ********> Honestly, she should have expected that. She knew Swampert was... like this. She tumbled back, just barely avoiding falling in the water, and threw her arms up to try and block the incessant, happy licking from the monstrous water pokemon. "Off! Get off, Swampert!" she demanded. The pokemon leaped off, and she rolled up, glaring at at the pokemon. She really needed to nickname her or something, her species name did not fit her. "Arceus.... Don't do that," she growled, pushing herself off the sand to stand.

"Ajicka wiped her face off, glaringly looking away. She straightened when she noticed Houndoom and Eelektross coming their direction, with an egg in the former's mouth. She frowned a bit. Geez, was Houndoom still doing all the work? Eelektross was just... floating around him, swooping from one side to the other. It was weird. She looked back at Swampert, pointing a finger at her. "I'm gonna go ahead and return you, but when I let you out at the next location, don't do that, alright?" she insisted. Swampert grumbled, shaking herself like a wet dog, before giving a bellow of... probably agreement. Ajicka sighed, recalling the large pokemon. That was a pokemon she knew, but still didn't understand. At least they were on to the next location, though.

Scarlett was admittedly relieved to have finally left Lumiose. Ambrette town was a lot nicer, seaside with a few places of interest that were right up Scarlett's ally, like a fossil museum and an aquarium. Sending Vandal out, Scarlett explained her plan. "I'll take the museum and aquarium, you scout the beach, deal?" Vandal nodded, not bothered by the trade off. He didn't have much interest in those places anyways, in his opinion, exploring the beach was a win in his favor.
Scarlett had gotten another text as she was flying, but was only able to open it now, a reply to their other line of conversation.
Same sort I gave you.
Scarlett was mildly surprised. Then again, it made sense that Zak would give nicknames of a similar nature to everyone he named.
Hm I suppose you're right. You did call Cy "Zaichik", did you not? He certainly didn't seem to like it.
So if I'm "Mishka", can I call you "Kotik"? ;o
She grinned, sending the text. She loved being able to text this stuff, it was the only way she could get away with it without making it obvious she knew the language, because she very well could have looked it all up. Face to face that would have been a lot harder to pass off.

Scarlett had been frequenting a lot of fossil based museums as of late, what with the way Roxanne and Lenora had their gyms set up, as well as the mining museum in Oreburgh, so Scarlett decided to hit the aquarium first and admire all of the sea pokemon from behind glass covered walls and ceilings. Seeing the vastness of the sea really made her feel so small at times, but it wasn't a bad feeling. It made her respect the ocean, and appreciate it that much more. As her xtransciever buzzed however, Scarlett pulled her attention away from the sights to see what Zak had to say about her impressive numbers.
Really? Congratulations, Mishka... I heard there's only fifty. You're nearly there.
He was being amicable about it, at least through text. She would have loved to have had this conversation face to face though, knowing how competitive he could get. She had to wonder if he was really that fine with it, or if he was just hiding his real emotions behind the text. Not that she would investigate that now.
Thanks. There is only fifty, but I've been more than halfway across the world already, so it's a lot more challenging than I first anticipated. A little fun even. Were you thinking of participating too? There's not much time left.
Equally passive aggressively patronizing, but not really. It seemed to be the sort of norm in their conversational tone somehow, and very fitting for their personalities.

Scarlett explored the aquarium with little success in finding an egg, but she was enjoying the cool and oceanic atmosphere, so she lingered a little, admiring a few of the exhibits until Zak texted her back after a little while. Curiously, she read it over, wondering which one he was replying to. Surprisingly, it was on the nicknames, and it was much better than she had anticipated.
You have a memory for nicknames, Lisichka.
.... If you like. I'll try not to be too rough when we play.
For a moment, Scarlett felt her heart jump, that feeling of excitement and weightlessness and fear when you suddenly drop on a roller coaster, or the floor suddenly falls through. Thrill. Adrenaline. Now she remembered why she had taken a liking to Zak. She was grinning, stupidly. A wild sort of smug grin that she got on her adrenaline high. This was a lot better than she'd hoped for. He had caught on. Now of course, there was the ever important response, but really, there was nothing more to say to something like that. Only action, which... Unfortunately, couldn't occur now.
I'll look forward to the game then, Kotik~
She sent the text, biting her lip and giving a light sigh. Dammit.... Now she was officially distracted.

Scarlett's mind wandered. She didn't want it to, but it did anyways. It was really hard to reel herself back in after a text like that. She was already staring at the fish swimming above her, lost in thought. She barely even registered that her xtransceiver had gone off again, until it buzzed a second time, alerting and reminding her that she still hadn't looked at the message that had come through. Blinking, Scarlett opened the conversation. Unfortunately, it was the less fun one concerning eggs.
I'm aware. I'm more focused on training, but I figured I would see what I could get.
She nodded in some agreement. Now she almost wished she hadn't sent that passive aggressive text. This conversation killed the mood of the other, but perhaps that was a good thing, what with her already staring off into space rather than focusing on what she needed to get done. She wanted to finish collecting eggs, train more, battle other gyms. She couldn't allow herself to lose sight of what was important. Zak was her enemy here. A threat.... Albeit a very attractive one. Scarlett was feeling torn, but there wasn't any real reason to be. Who said she couldn't flirt with danger? She'd done it before. It made their.... Rivalry, more interesting.
That's reasonable. Good luck.
She wrote, though she hesitated to send it. She was no longer trying to be passive aggressive, just... Neutral, maybe even a little well wishing if he wanted to take it that way. Mostly she wanted to respond in a fashion that ended this conversation on neutral terms and focus more on the other one.

Scarlett sighed, standing up. It was probably time she started actually moving and trying to find the egg here. Hopefully Vandal had found it already. Sure enough, as she exited the aquarium, he had been approaching, trying to get in to see if he could find Scarlett. She supposed she hadn't really designated a place to meet up at, but it didn't matter now. They had found each other, Vandal had the egg. That was the important thing right? Vandal got a weird expression though as he neared Scarlett, and she gave him an equally confused look. "What?" She asked pointedly. "U-uh..... Nothing." He muttered, handing over the egg and returning to his pokeball while Scarlett called the ride charizard so they could head out.

The beach... that was better. Not to mention, the town was smaller. Much as he wanted to try and take advantage of this to go swimming, Zak wanted to find the eggs even more. He was still feeling a bit competitive, and he had some momentum. He split up with his pokemon and continued jogging, looking around casually as he moved, searching for eggs, and taking in the sights. He hadn't.... seen an aquarium before. He wasn't the sort to stop and sight see, btu still. Wasn't it a little pointless to have it by the beach?

Then again, maybe that was the point. Get close to underwater, without going underwater. For those that couldn't dive, or surf, or swim, or just didn't want to get wet, but wanted to see the "wild life". Seemed rather cruel, though. Pokemon were generally sentient creatures.... putting them on display... That was just weird. And how did water and fish pokemon feel, if they went in there with their trainers? What, was it like a fish performance....?

Trying not to let that train of thought go down the gutter -- because he could, easily, it was a skill -- Zak focused on ahead. He slowed, though, as something occurred to him. Pausing, he looked back at the aquarium. Was that a good place to hide eggs? It was obvious, a tourist attraction, it had some shiny stuff to draw attention... He shook his head. It had probably been picked clean. He turned and continued jogging, frowning. He really wanted to find these eggs and get moving. He wanted to do a lot of things, really, but he was getting impatient. Why did it feel like they'd been finding them so much faster beforehand...?

Oh, right. Because he'd been distracted. He frowned, checking his watch. No replies. Frick. He may actually have to start concentrating on work soon. He frowned at the thought. Especially when he was reminded that he was going to have to do that training. Likely soon, too. Well, alright. That answered some things; at the next location, he'd let Deys out. He was the only one who really knew how to help Zak work on his combat skills. For now, he started rounding back, dropping to a walk to conserve his energy, and looking for any sign of his pokemon.

It didn't take too long, before Zak was able to locate his pokemon. He actually got a message from one of his coworkers, surprisingly, and was absently typing a response when he happened to glance up, and spot his pokemon. He sent the response, then dropped his arm back to his side. "Find it?" he asked. Meebus nodded, and Sotnik opened his mouth, showing the egg. "Good job," he remarked, smirking some and grabbing the egg. Gross, but.... at least his starter figured it out. And hopefully, he thought as he set them up to move on, that would mean it would be easier for him to find the next one, too.

But maybe it was because it was his own pokemon that made it different. She imagined if any one of them demanded to be freed, he would do so willingly. If anything, she had gauged that he was quite sincere in his belief that a pokemon be able to be free if it wanted to be. The fact that he’d taken pokemon not wanting to leave their trainers at the time as some sign of brain washing? Well…there was no explanation on that.
