Amp made quick work of the first Spritzee, transitioning from his previous lounging position into a eager prowl in the blink of the eye. He pounced before either Lysander or the Spritzee could grasp the situation. With eyes alight, the Shinx dropped back to the ground at the same time his opponent did, face-first and most certainly unconscious, but didn't give himself the chance to rest, or his next target to escape, before he struck out again.

Were they really that many fairy types living around here? Lysander found himself questioning this as he looked out at the group of Mime Jr., and while he wasn't positive of their numbers -- with them all moving about as it was, the redhead found himself recounting a few times -- he had counted at least ten. Amp didn't seem to mind the numbers, the man noted as his pokemon swung his tail out and struck two at once. Right... as long as they held the advantage, they'd be fine. That being said, Amp couldn't be the only one gaining experience from this.

Though it might not have been considered 'proper', Heather found herself sitting on the ground, legs splayed out before her, and Cadenza in her lap as she watched her brother's pokemon battle. It wasn't like she was bored -- she just didn't see the point of standing up throughout the entire duration of the incense. Even if Heather wasn't paying attention, Lysander certainly was; as were his pokemon. He noted that, although the attack she chose to use wasn't strong enough to knock her opponents out immediately, she had the endurance to keep going and push through. The trade he'd made with that brat really was proving worth it, if this kept up Lysander could see himself coming around to the idea of trading more often. Even if it meant trading with strangers.

Lysander wasn't the only one with invested interest in the battle, and siting by the male's shoe, Bass watched Girafarig with an unabashed gaze. "Froa..." he croaked, garnering his trainer's attention. He frowned gently as he looked down at the frog, his gaze eventually drawing Bass' upwards and towards the man, he hadn't even... realized he was right there. "Having fun?" Lysander questioned, and while he didn't expect an answer he didn't him to just... stare at him either. Lysander sucked on his teeth. "Do you want to battle too?" he tried again. Still nothing. Eventually, he gave up. "Fine, whatever. Do what you want." He crossed his arms and looked back up, only to do a double-take as, not soon after, Bass began hopping steadily over to Girafarig.

He.. didn't understand that pokemon, and while he probably should have put some effort into changing that, being a trainer and all, Lysander wasn't entirely sure he wanted to. Bass was just... weird, he was slowly starting to understand that. A bit defiant, yeah... but he usually did what was asked of him -- eventually. He had a good handle on battling, and while he had yet to use his starter in a gym battle the redhead was certain the Froakie would prove handy. Maybe they just needed to bond? Well... actually, he probably needed to do that with all his pokemon, not just Bass.

Girafarig, who was none the wiser of the newest addition to the battle, continued battering away at all within her sight until a cry from behind alerted her to another presence. She paused and craned her head around, needing a moment before she spotted a patch of blue amongst the pink. A moment later and she was able to properly identify the patch as another pokemon, and one she recognized from her trainer's team. Understanding what was going on, she allowed herself a moment to gather herself before she trotted away, leaving the rest to Bass.

Bass, in his own opinion, was handling himself fairly well. Like Girafarig, he needed to strike twice before those... nuisances fell, but he was able to keep from taking damage and was gaining in strength throughout it all -- or well, at least his tongue was. He didn't know it was possible to have to lick so many opponents in the same sitting, and considering it wasn't even all that strong. Yeah, it was getting time to replace this move. His tongue demanded it.

After taking down another one of those... things, Bass found himself hopping back and putting several feet of space between him and those that remained; not so much retreating as he was... assessing. He'd done some good work and managed to cut the group down to a duo, only two remained now, but in the last battle the opponent had used a different move. It hadn't done any damage, nor had it prevented him from unleashing the final blow, but it was definitely something to keep an eye out. From his experience these pokemon liked to copy each other in strategy, to the point where fighting them became a bit redundant. Bass blinked slowly, webbed feet digging into the ground as he prepared to launch another attack. It'd be a bit tricky, figuring out this move while he was actively participating in battle, but it could be done.

One down, one to go. Bass resisted the urge to take another break, this time for his tongue, and instead focused on taking out the last pokemon. He'd almost lost count of how many he'd faced up to this point... five so far, and so ten times he'd had to use Lick; he wouldn't be getting this taste off his tongue anytime soon. "Froa..."
