The next Pokemon was Solosis a psychic Pokemon which wasn't a huge threat against Pidgeotto. Using the two move combo of fly Pidgeotto was able to avoid then strike with a good amount of damage being able to avoid the blast of psywave. Attempt after attempt to strike failed as a final smash from the sky knocked the Pokemon out.

The next Pokemon was seen as a novelty more than something you battled with. "Luvdisc the rendezvous Pokemon. Luvdisc's heart shape body is a symbol of love and romance. It is said that any couple meeting this Pokemon is promised a loving relationship that never ends. During the spawning season, countless Luvdisc congregated at coral reefs, turning the waters pink." The Magikarp of the Hoenn region it couldn't even evolve. A fish was weak against Pidgeotto so the battle started and ended quickly.

The next Pokemon was one that Simon wanted solely to learn how battling with it worked. "Wailmer the ball whale Pokemon. Wailmer can store water inside its body to transform itself into a ball for bouncing around on the ground. By filling itself up with more water, this Pokemon can elevated the height of its bounces." Wailmer bounced in front of him a decent size but the evolved form was supposed to be huge, tanker ship huge, yet somehow normal people could train them up. Pointing out another attack Pidgeotto cawed and dove at it.

Smiling to himself Simon knew it, a team of Pokemon Pidgeotto was okay or super effective against then one she couldn't do anything with. The final Pokemon was, "Bastiodon the shield Pokemon. When they lined up side by side, no foe could break through. They shielded their young in that way." Another fossil he wanted but its typing of rock and steal made it super effective against Pidgeotto so he returned her and send out Shedinja to finish it off.

Once the battle was over Simon returned Shedinja and walked a short distance away sending out Pidgeotto. The lucky egg that she was holding broke however it had done its job as she started to glow. When the light was gone she had evolved into "Pidgeot the bird Pokemon. This Pokemon has a dazzling plumage of beautiful glossy feathers. Many Trainers are captivated by the striking beauty of the feathers on its head, compelling them to choose Pidgeot as their Pokemon." Stroking her feathers for a moment he told her how proud he was of her before returning her. Instead of returning to the Pokecenter Simon decided to have Noivern taking them back to Geosenge City, it would be a good place to train Mankey and maybe get another Eevee.

Mary Lee smiled, nodding her head to Blackjack's recollection. "Yup! It's made him really strong-- not that he wasn't before, but now all his move's hit really hard every time!" she explained. Mimey looked up, eavesdropping on the conversation. "They do..." she murmured, recollecting some of the battles Hera had done, "They really really do..." Jay needed to let the bug battle some more soon, actually. He hadn't been able to do much battling, which was understandable since he and Mary Lee got so strong so quickly, but the heracross would probably get depressed if he was too cooped up too long. He was a high spirited sort of pokemon, but he thrived on interaction and activity-- or sleeping, but that was only with a full belly.
Her focus shifted back to Rummy and she placed her little hands behind her head. "Not a loooot... But I know about you and your friend! I sort of knew about your evolution...." she mused, trying to think back on what she'd heard. There was kind of a lot to keep up with, being the team's medium and all. She couldn't remember everything that went through everyone's heads.... She looked back at him, tipping her head when he mentioned the opponent, and then looking thoughtfully up at the sky. "I wonder if I should get a dye job.... Oh!" and that seemed to stir something in her mind, and she looked back to Rummy, bringing her hands forward to fold together in front of her. "Did Sebastian talk to you about contests??" she asked curiously.
Jay raised an eyebrow as he listened to Sebastian. Well, that all made sense.... Save the color part. He tuned that much out, though did note that would make identifying them a hell of a lot harder if he kept finding them. "... Yew didn' happen ta pick up uh book 'r somethin' on 'em, didja? Or... see one like thuh one ah got, 'n learn what it was...?" he asked. Maybe he was hoping too much, but... Sebastian did know he'd got one too. Maybe if he was lucky he'd be able to identify it for him so he knew who to give it to-- or whether he could give it to anyone at all.
"Well, like ah said-- grass' usually in thuh first few. Could be there still, ah jus' dunno... Then again, s'pose Kanto has it later..." He trailed off, then laughed a little again, shaking his head. Really, it could be anything. "But yeah, like ya said, we'll find out when we get there. Think ah got mah basics covered, 'least," he confirmed, listening as Sebastian followed him along the route to the next city. By the sound humming beside him... what he'd heard earlier had been Sebastian. Which meant he was... probably transporting via something. "... Yew roller skatin', bah thuh way?" he asked. He could hear the sound break, now, as Sebastian seemed to take steps, so it probably wasn't a skateboard, but it definitely sounded like wheels rolling over the ground, now that it was closer.

The thoughtful look remained on Blackjack’s face as he started to move along to follow their trainers, giving a little nod of acknowledgement. "Stronger, hm? Well that’s something to look forward to then." Maybe. Hopefully? Mostly hopefully.
"You know about Dues? He’s great! I wonder where he is. Why would you get a dye job? You look cute!" Rummy questioned, giving Mimey a questioning look. "Pretzel braid?" Rummy remarked as Mimey mentioned Sebastian, glancing briefly at his trainer before his head bobbed up and down excitedly. "He did! He said I have all the energy for one and maybe I can be just like those pokemon on TV! I want to shoot laser beams! I bet that’d be fun! They sound fun!" Not that Sebastian had given him the greatest of descriptions on what contests were about; the fact remained he was incredibly excited either way.
Sebastian frowned at Jay’s question, rubbing gingerly at the back of his neck as he thought. "Ah… no. No, I didn’t actually." Which was a shame now that he thought about it. The guru had spent so long recanting different tales and bits of information that he hadn’t even considered asking for some kind of collection to make future identification easier. The man had to have had something on it too, with how much he knew and how easily he’d identified Sebastian’s mega stone find.
"Hm…," Sebastian was quiet a moment as he tried to recall everything he’d semi-learned from the guru. There had to be snippets of information that could help? "Maybe…," He started, hand rubbing his chin as he tried to piece his thoughts together. "He did mention there were only a selected few pokemon out there who could mega-evolve…" That sort of narrowed things down a bit. He pointed. "Your Heracross sort of instinctively knew it could use a mega stone, didn’t he? I know brute-force is kind of tedious but… maybe you could check with your pokemon to see if any of them can use it? And if not well, then that at least eliminates some possibilities." It wasn’t the most effective method but if it was true there weren’t many pokemon able to mega evolve, then that at least trimmed down some options. At least until they found a book or something.
"True… grass would be great really. I’ve got enough fire power for it." He joked a bit. It wasn’t intended to be a pun, but it didn’t kind of work in this situation. As opposed to Benny’s, which were just terrible. When Jay questioned him about roller skating, Sebastian blinked and glanced down. He vividly recalled a previous discussion the two had had concerning rollerblades and bikes and what not. After a moment of silence or so he finally spoke up. "… Why yes. I am rollerblading." And he hadn’t tripped once so far.

While conversing with Jay, Sebastian took a moment or so to swap his pokemon around a bit. Not knowing what the next gym was, it was probably for the better to let a few of his team out to try and get some levels up. Once that was settled, he let Dice at least, contemplating who else to let out for training purposes. The little Cubone immediately toddled his way over near Blackjack, wide eyes staring through his bone helmet in awe at the sight of him. Well he’d certainly missed quite a bit hadn’t he? Dice noted the other pokemon conversing; there was some cabbage looking leaf fox, a pink thing with a nose and a yellow looking mountain… thing.
He didn’t know any of them. But that was okay because with a little flail of his oversized club, he was off to the grass to smash whatever he could find. He hadn’t gone and smacked anything in a long while after all; he needed to get stronger if he was going to keep up with Blackjack!

Or not. Despite his short search, Dice hadn’t come across any pokemon to battle, which seemed terribly odd in a sense. He’d weaved in and out of the tall grass numerous times, but hadn’t encountered a single living body yet. How was he supposed to train at this rate? He toddled about more, searching and slamming his club about in a bit of frustration.
Thunk. Dice paused briefly, head jerking to the end of his club. Had he hit something? He shifted, lifting his club and looking curiously at the small box on the ground. What was that? The Cubone set his club down, picking the strange device up between his hands. It was weird really; the box had a number etched on the side of it, though exactly what that meant he had no clue. He started shaking the device violently before setting it down and retrieving his club.
"Cu!" Dice squeaked and with a forceful slam, smashed his club down on the device. It glowed a moment and briefly he was blinded from the glow. A moment later and it was gone, the Cubone blinking a bit. He felt… different now. Like he’d learned something new. The Cubone gave a shake of his head, squeaking again before toddling back into the grass. There was no time to wonder about the now broken box thing. He had a mission!

Ah ha! It’d took a little more searching and Dice had found himself a flock of Wingulls hanging about a small pond. That was the ticket! With a little squeak he toddled right towards the horde of birds, club raised and ready to bash the nearest one. Unfortunately, they didn’t seem to take kindly to his intrusion and as opposed to attacking the Cubone by one, a total of five decided to meet him head on.
That didn’t faze Dice though. He was well accustomed to taking on a bunch of pokemon at once! In fact as the horde squawked at him he paused to squeak back a roar at them. He certainly didn’t expect the air to free as it did as a flurry of fierce ice and snow launched at the group. Well… that was different. Gin's EXP Share broke!
Battle Summary
A horde of five Lvl. 11 Wingulls appeared! (110 HP; Keen Eye; Wing Attack, Super Sonic, Water Gun, Growl)
Dice’s Thick Club was activated! His attack was raised by three stages! (3/10)
Round 1 Dice used Blizzard! 110 + 10 = 120 DMG each 110 – 120 = 0
The horde of Wingull fainted! 7 Exp x 5 = +35 EXP to Dice! (+18 EXP to Gin via EXP Share!)

Dice blinked and stared curiously at the pile of now frozen Wingulls. Well that was certainly new! While it was nice to have taken them down so easily, he was a little disappointed at the battle. Dice toddled away, leaving the pile of frozen birds to eventually thaw off. There had to be tougher pokemon for him to battle.
And so there was. Dice accidentally bumped into something, falling back on his bottom with a squeak, his skull helm shifting and temporarily blocking his view. He shuffled and huffed, shifting it back into place so he could once again see through the eye sockets. The Cubone peered up at the strange bullish creature now staring down at him. Ahhh…. Now this was an opponent!
Battle Summary
A level 24 Tauros appeared! (240 HP; Anger Point; Payback, Rest, Pursuit, Horn Attack) Dice’s Thick Club activated! Attack was raised by three stages! (3/10)

Mary Lee smiled, wiggling happily. She wondered how much Sebastian had even battled with Blackjack-- he didn't look like he'd been fighting a lot lately. Then again, neither had she... but she was okay with that! She looked curiously over at Mime Jr and Rummy as they talked, smiling and sweeping her little legs as fast as she could to keep up with everyone. Mimey blinked as Rummy commented on her remark, blinking, then her eyebrows raising a bit. "You think so?" she asked, smiling and looking down at herself. She wasn't really self conscious, of course-- it was more Rummy's remark about her looking just like the other Mime Jr that made her start thinking about doing something to stand up more. But, of course, the compliment seemed to distract her a bit from that line of thought.
She looked up and smiled as Rummy excitedly gushed over the contests, but tilted her head to the side in thought when he mentioned 'laser beams'. "I dunno if you can actually learn a laser beam move..." she mused thoughtfully. She perked up, though, brushing the thought off and smiling as she continued to follow her trainer. They seemed to be nearing the city, at least. "Have you seen a contest before, Rummy?" she asked curiously, Mary Lee scuttling up on her other side, trying to quicken her pace and attempt to catch up to their trainer a bit.
Who, at the moment, was looking a bit disappointed. "Right.... s'pose so. Maybe ah'll ask them all when we get ta thuh pok'center...." he muttered. It was too bad Sebastian hadn't thought to ask about his megastone-- it could have saved him a lot of guesswork. He was about 80% sure that Heracross only found his megastone by luck, and it helped that the woman that gave it to him probably knew what she was doing, and what it was for. This one? He found it in the basement of a house he'd been kidnapped and taken to. It could be long to anything, and the fact that they were all pokemon specific meant it was even less likely that he actually had the pokemon it would work on, let alone that the pokemon would be fully evolved even to mega evolve.
Sighing, he shifted his focus forward, trying to listen for sounds of the city, which, though they were drawing closer, he couldn't quite pick up yet. "Mm, yeah, ah'd say ahm perty prepared too. Mary Lee... 'N, akshully, Heracross'd prolly be good, too. Not ta mention sum've mah others," he remarked. But, there was no guarantee that would be what the gym was. It was only a, what... 1/14 chance? At any rate, the sooner they got there, the sooner they'd be able to ask and start figuring it out. Jay raised an eyebrow and shook his head a bit when Sebastian confirmed that he was skating, though. "Well, s'pose that explains some've it, then... Jus' be careful ya don' trip," he urged.

Rummy’s grin widened as his head bobbed up and down in response. "Of course!" He’d been an Eevee once after all and people were always cooing one way or another about how cute they were. He had to know a thing or two about what it took to be cute!
"Awww really? I thought it’d be cool to shoot a laser…," That was a little disappointing to consider and the slight dower look that crossed his face briefly showed it. It didn’t last long though as the grin returned once again, the bounce in the Leafeon’s step returning as they moved forward. "Uhm, uhm… I think so! Maybe! On the televisions I think!" He remarked, head tilting to the side a bit as he thought. "I mean, I’ve only ever seen a lot of things on the televisions. I’ve never seen it in person, ‘cause we’re too busy hiding from all the humans and stuff trying to catch us! But I’ve seen a lot of cool things! I’m sure it’s cool! All kinds of flashy, flashy and stuff!" He perked up, looking at Mimey curiously. "Do you know about contests? Are you gonna enter some?!"
Sebastian frowned at the sight of Jay’s disappointment, a hand raising up to rub gingerly at the back of his neck as he glanced away. Judging by his response, the cowboy didn’t take well to the suggestion and well, Sebastian couldn’t blame him. It was a rather tedious means to figuring out who the stone belonged to. He felt bad for not being of much more help in this situation; he hadn’t even intended to learn about his own stone after all. He’s just sort of… ‘fluked’ into meeting the guru. And the man didn’t seem sent on explaining stone in any other way besides stories. Still… he probably could’ve inquired more or something.
He gave a sigh. "Sorry Jacque…," He apologized, shifting a bit to adjust his bag. He honestly did feel about not being a better help. Quietly he glanced back to make sure his pokemon were still in tow, noticing that Dice had wandered off along the way. Blackjack seemed to notice too, excusing himself from the little gathering of pokemon to go find him. That was fine; he had faith in the Houndoom to find the Cubone and make his way back to him. And even if he did get lost, well... the Houndoom was kind of hard to miss now. "That’s good. Sounds like it’ll be easy then." He remarked back. At the mention of his skates, he gave a slightly lopsided smile, head tilting just a bit as he tried to chipper back up. "Heh sure… I’m not the accident magnet though."

Mimey smiled, giving Rummy's shoulder a pat. "Don' worry, I bet there are a lot of really cool moves you can still learn!" she encouraged, still smiling over the compliment she'd received, "Besides, you're a grass type now, right? Maybe you can learn Solarbeam! That's kind of like a type of laser beam!" They both had 'beam' in their name, at least. And it was pretty powerful, too! She wasn't sure how smart it would be to give such a distracted pokemon such a strong move for something as simple and delicate as contests, though...
And.... not to mention how he could talk. Mimey stared with slightly wide, awed eyes as he yammered on, but smiled in the end. She wasn't sure he could be quiet and composed enough for contests, but maybe he could win them over, and win his ribbons, through his own unique conventional means! His crazy energy and bubbly talkativeness was pretty endearing in its own way, and so long as he did the tricks well, then he would probably be able to pull it off! She shook her head, though, when he started asking her questions. "I don't know a lot, and I've never really seen one. I dunno if I'll try 'em. Crystal will, though! Maybe she can help tell us more about contests..." She trailed off a bit, looking ahead at Jay. "When Jay decides to... let her out again..." she added. Hopefully distracting the squirtle with contest things would help... minimize her irritation when she was released...
Jay gave a dismissive sort of wave of his hand at Sebastian's apology. "Don' worry 'bout it, ain't yer job ta do mah homework fer me," he replied. Yeeeaaaah, it was disappointing, but oh well. He reached up, pulling his hat off and running his hand through his hair, nodding a bit. Not that they knew it was a grass type gym, but they'd figure it out, whatever it was. "We gettin' close?" he added, placing his hat back down and turning his head a bit to listen towards Sebastian. He frowned, but then smirked a bit at the playful remark, placing one hand in his pocket and giving an non-directed gesture with his other. "Well sure you ain't, but you're near one, ain'tcha? 'N ah'd say it's perty accidental fer someone' ta get takin' down by their travel partner who happened ta trip on his skates 'n fell on top've 'em," he pointed out. His smile turned into a grin, and he gave a little side nod of his head. "Yer merely an instrument in mah bad luck," he added in a lofty, mocking sort of voice, with a playful turn to his grin.
The smile slipped away as he lifted his head, turning as if to listen to something, his brows furrowed in concentration. But, whatever it was, it must not have been much, as he turned his attention back forward again, trying to catch wind of the city up ahead.

"Solar… beam? Ooooooo that sounds awesome! I want that move then! I’'s got beam in its name so it must be a laser beam!" Rummy chimed excitedly, bouncing a bit more at the encouragement. "Thank you Mimey!" Rummy was excited thinking about the potential of contests and what he could do them. He was rather happy Sebastian had even asked him! He actually quieted for a whole minute as she answered his questions, head tilting curiously as he did. "Crystal? Whozzat?" The name sounded familiar, but being Rummy, the knowledge of who the pokemon was had probably flown over his head. "Is she gonna enter contests too? Is she good? Has she been in them before? Why wouldn’t mister cowboy let her out?"
Sebastian gave a bit of a defeated shrug at the reply, frown of disapproval still etched on his face. It was probably a good thing Jay couldn’t see the look because it was still rather hard for Sebastian to just accept it. Especially since he was supposed to be out on this journey to learn a bit more in order to eventually help his brother. If he wasn’t much help to a fellow like Jay, well… that didn’t quite bode well for his plans. "Hm…," He glanced up and ahead, squinting a bit as he looked into the distance. "I… think so. I can see some buildings in the distance." He remarked. He also though he saw a giant tree… but maybe that was just his eyes. Shaking his head, he quirked an eyebrow, giving a quizzical side glance at Jay.
Sebastian just stared quietly a moment. If Jay could’ve seen the blank expression that crossed the man’s face, he might’ve thought the comments had gone right over the other’s head. Eventually though a smirk crossed his face, a shoulders rolling into a shrug. "I’ll have you know I’m a pretty graceful guy. I haven’t tripped once while wearing these things." He remarked and just to show it, rolled and circled behind, maneuvering to skate backwards on the opposite side of Jay. Not that it meant much to do in the grand scheme of things. "If anything, I’d say you tripping and toppling me over would be the more likely scenario if an accident does happen." He was going to temporarily ignore the inherit dangers of skating backwards, glancing over his shoulder from time to time before turning himself back around. "But if that’s the case, I guess you’re probably doomed. And me too. What a way to go." he joked, quirking an eyebrow slightly. "Something up?"
